I am really struggling trying to make a responsive svg background using nested svgs. The top and bottom parts of the svg must be fixed aspect ratio and fill the width of the containing <div> and the top and bottom padding of the div is set to match. The containing <div> is fixed width (40% of it's parent) and auto height so it expands vertically to fit it's content. The middle part (vertically that is) should stretch as the svg stretc
