is mods.tikiwiki.org working? http://mods.tikiwiki.org/Packages/00_list.public.txt is very slow... chibaguy: is mods site down? hi franck, yes, it is. I'm not sure who takes care of that site. ah, getting nervous, I found another site down Seems to be the season for it, or something. chibaguy: well there has been some hosting modifications... Small bug in 2.0rc2: Module flip image can't be found after the module is flipped once. The script asks for "pics/icons/mdule.png" Note the wrong spelling of the image file. polom marclaporte: hi marclaporte: mods.tw seems down nyloth manages it and he must be fast asleep at this hour ;) hehe There isn't a monitor tool watching the tw.o sites? (No, I haven't noticed a problem... merely reading earlier events...) SEWilco, I don't think there's any formal monitoring, just people who notice. tiki-monitor.php tiki-check-my-site-and-tall-me-when-it-has-crashed.php is variant There is also tiki-kitchen-sink.php and tiki-tooth-brush.php some of the new features in TikiWiki CMS/LMS/CRM/Groupware/DMS 6.0 Hey, my installations are missing all those files. :-( ;-) tiki-scatch-my-back.php is planned for v4 scratch :-) good night! marclaporte: I could monitor the tw sites, but I need an escalation path marclaporte: who to email for each site marclaporte: who to wake up! marclaporte: can you provide? how can i configure the sections in the main menu to start off collapsed instead of expanded. The menu's type should be "dynamic collapsed" (on tiki-admin_menus.php). Then it should display collapsed until items are opened by the user. The user's open/closed settings are saved in a cookie. Hi, in my application menu, for some reason the "Admin" section is showing up for my Registered users. how can i get rid of it? hi. i've got a events module on my tikiwiki. Why is it that when im in my "admin" account, my events pop-up when i mouseover the dates... but it doesn't have the same behaviour when im in a "registered" user account? Let me try again. When I'm using my admin account, mouseing-over the dates in my events module produces a little tooltip that tells me the events that occur on that particular date. But when I'm in a normal "Registered" account, I don't get that... can anyone show me how to make it work? xaz446, I don't use this module, but I wonder if there's a permissions check on the event information. Do registered users have permission to see event info? chibaguy: i had a look through... can't seem to find anything the funny thing is that admin can view it, but registered cant Maybe not so funny since admin's perms are a superset of registered's. adding one of my normal users to the Admins group doesn't help either There's a "tiki_p_view_events" permission. Does your registered group have this perm? no. i can't seem to find that permission to set btw im using 1.9.11 Oh, sorry, I was looking at a 2.0 site. In the 1.9.11 list, I don't see that perm either. I guess it's covered by tiki_p_view_calendar. im considering moving over to 1.10... is it stable? Actually 1.10 is renamed to 2.0. Yes, it's stable. Right now it's in the security check and final bug-fixing stage. so it's safe to upgrade? To be really safe, it's best to wait for the official release. That said, quite a few sites are running 2.0. ok because i've just installed my 1.9 yesterday and spent a lot of time massaging it into shape ;) wouldn't want all that to just go down the drain Moin! Hi all, A quick question. Which page do I edit to get the Login Box to right align on loading tiki-index.php Paragtim - if I'm not mistaken the login box code is regulated in maintikifolder/templates/modules/mod-login_box.tpl but I think it would be easier if you changed the stylesheet instead Thanks zorp. I need to light align the login box as I have to put some other info on the left side of the page (disclaimers etc). I will see what happens good luck :) zorp. Thanks for the info. Mod-login_bos.tpl will allow me to add the extra details but I cant see any way to set the alignment. Any iseas what the alignment command\tag mugh be? Sorry ideas what the alignment command \ tag might be? well should be an html tag which part exactly are you trying to align? The Login Box needs to aligned on the right andthe text on the left. A table would be the best solution. Would standard html work. If so where on the page? and you want to do this in the login box on the right hand side? What I would do in Html is
| The left side Info | The Login Box |
| More text | Yet more text |
Wiki saw to replacing the image link on its own somehow...
(and the more I thik about it, the less I like this behavior....did I somehow enable this somewhere we haven't mentioned?)
@mattbmc: i cannot reproduce. maybe a bug that was fixed in later 2.0 rc?
is it a good to check my version from within Tiki using its functionality? Sez I'm fully up to date, but I haven't verified that...
(and good to know it's not "normal"! :) )
y, but the (i think) tiki only checks for releases and official RC builds. not daily svn updaes
hm....I'm on 1.10.0b1 specifically...
very old. get the 2.0 rc2
(1.10 was renamed 2.0 a few wks ago)
no kidding?
will get to it then. :)
see http://tikiwiki.org/ReleaseProcess20
i think rc2 is in sourceforge
110b1 to 2.0rc2 about as straightforward as past releases? (I haven't even had a problem with CVS versions so far....knocking on wood)
pretty much the same code
should be no problem
mattbmc, I think Tiki caches outside images that are used in wiki pages, so these would be in a gallery, so would have a new path.
(maybe it's a config option)
polom
polom
chiba, it would do this to the extent of excising and replacing the original image URL? I was looking through for an option to disable this...any idea if this is possible? It's a nice option, but sometime/most times I'd like to leave the link pointing to the external image.
(Seemed like I remembered there being a caching option for something like this, but I didn't see it....lemme know if I missed it)
also, since I'm running 110 already, should I do the 1.9-2.0 upgrade as well as the 2.0 sec upgrade?
yes
good deal...thx!
1.10 was just renamed to 2.0 and the upgrade script 1.9 to 2.0 is also used for minor releases in stable branches
secdb is something else
hm...getting "Session: connection failed" when I try the upgrade scripts....hrm
Do nothing/enter seems OK....at least on the surface/initial loading...
I think that was fixed after RC2... will be OK in RC3
Hm....Avatar is missing...image placeholder only.....tip of the iceberg of problems? Tried re-uploading the gif and still just getting a placeholder.
looking at my Preferences page
no idea about that
hm....tiki-install won't run without that session error now...
perhaps adopting 110 as early as I did wasn't smart?
well, beta is... beta
;)
indeed
and RCs are to iron out those details before release ;)
totally unrelated but has anyone seen a good pdf to flash converter? Ya know, those page-flip kinds
noop
well...I think back to living with 110 (which was 99.9% fine) until at least RC2....don't have time to get into debuggins ATM. Thanks anyway as I at least have an idea what's going on with the 110 installation!!!
(and we'll hope the 110-200 transition is smooth as past upgrades when I finally get around to it! ;-)
1.10 to 2.0 isn't a transition
mattbmc, "Use cache for external images:" is on Admin General (tiki-admin.php?page=general).
just found it.
bingo! (on my way there now)
thought I'd seen it.. :)
we'll give it a spin with that off and see how it goes!
mattbmc: to test pre rc3: http://de.tikiwiki.org/tar/lastiki_BRANCH-2-0.zip

hello
it's question time folks :)
Does the shoutbox in 1.9.11 support wiki markup? It looks like the answer is no, but I just want to be sure.
Next and final question for now... why do links posted to the shoutbox sometimes display as the full domain like "www.sourceforge.net" and then other times as "[Link]". Is this to do with length of the URL, whether you include "http://" or something else?
I think I just answered my own question (the second question that is)
the "[Link]" occurs when the URL contains a filename as in "www.sourceforge.net/index.html"
Think I'll go update the documentation.
done
Does anyone know of a site map plugin?
or a way to see the tree structure of a tikiwiki
When using the Staging & Approval feature: Is it possible to have the staging page (*MyPage) replace the old page (MyPage)? Or does there have to be two copies?
(*MyPage) repalces (myPage) at approval...
thre are 2 copis until approval
how does the approver "approve" the page?
thre is a link at the top of a page to the approve script
top of a astagging page if the user has the perm
top of staging category page?
top of ((*MyPage))
TikiWiki is incredible (just thought I'd throw that out there).
The more I learn how to use the features the more powerful it becomes. Soon I'll be able to rule the world muhahaha!
I don't have that link as an user w/ approver perms or as admin
When I try to edit *MyPage it says: "You are editing the staging copy of the approved version of this page. Changes will be merged in after approval. "
It can tell its staging but I can't approve
ypu probably do not the right perms
as admin can you see it?
No, as admin I have: Edit, Remove, Rename, Lock, Perms, History, Export
not at the bottom at the top
iwher you see you are editing a staging copy
the only way I know it is staging is that the title has a * before it
am I looking for a link that says "approve"?
did you check the video on doc.tw.org
no, i didnt realize there was one out for staging
OK I see where the link should be...
I'll see what I can figure out...thanks
perms are very tricky...
icltlfatppl: A tikiwiki has no tree structure. You can define one with a 'structure'. The Category and Directory tools also tend to build trees but form crossconnections.
SEWilco: I think icltlfatppl used the term "structure" in a different context. To me the best "site map" that I know of is the default phplayers menu... covers just about everything a user could want to see on the site. I assume there is a way you could lay this out in flat form as a wiki page, that would probably be the easiest way.
Beyond that, the site could potentially be way too large to have a true site map.
Darkbee: Any site with many pages would have a large site map. It might depend whether person wants a human tool or a map such as the one for Googlebots to crawl.
Crawlability is one reason I implemented SEF URLs for 1.9.11, so bots can crawl my Categories and find all the pages.
Hmm.. I should make sure the Wiki list of all pages also emits SEFURLs so that is also crawlable.
Eew. Yup, the Wiki "List pages" does emit unfriendly URLs. I don't think a dev has reviewed may patch; maybe I'll have a new version in a couple of weeks.
listpages is selfurl in 2.0
Hmm. My altered 1.9.11 is emitting wiki page names with spaces, not "+", in both "List pages" and "Last changes".
tw.o "List pages" is emitting names with "+", but that's probably 2.0.
tw.o "Last Changes" is emitting URLs with spaces. "CMS Landscape" instead of "CMS+Landscape".
That's interesting. The 2.0 .htaccess must be different, as a URL with spaces works.
yes perhaps we are not clean on the url escaping - some are missing
I'll work around the 1.9.11 space problem... I'll SEFURL the names with spaces, then grab the space fix from 2.0 .htaccess.
hi all.
Snort. My 1.9.11 SEFURL rule already works when there are spaces. I just need to fix .htaccess.
The approve link is still missing for the staging & approval feature
I have exaclt followed the options and perms in the bottom of this document
http://doc.tikiwiki.org/tiki-pagehistory.php?page=Wiki%20Page%20Staging%20and%20Approval&preview=15
I am running RC2
Is there anything I am missing?
bye all
The tw.o "Get Tiki" page has bad link to "the developer site": see http://info.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=Get+Tiki&bl
Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to apply group permissions to Wiki pages programmatically in TikiWiki, similar to ACL directives used in MoinMoin?
reason i ask is that i have 15,000 Wiki pages that I need to assign permissions to, so obviously manually would NOT be the best route
Harold: I haven't noticed anything for assigning pages to groups en masse or with subsets. Just the Category admin checkbox-type tools.
There are Category "find" filters.
i see
that would be an great feature to have
dans mods there is a batch_load_pages that enable you to set categs via a csv file (pagename, "categ"
Is there a way to use SVN to grab an export tree without using SSL?
nevermind, I just realized I can just use http instead of https
is it friday yet?
oh thanks sylvieg, is there a link you can provide me with for this?
i see it at http://mods.tikiwiki.org/details.php?type=goodies&mod=batch_load_pages but i am not sure how to obtain it
Just out of curiosity, does the upgrade script for 2.0 also go through and remove old files that aren't being used? I'm upgrading from 1.9 and basically overlaid 2.0 distro on top of it. Would like some way of deleting all the chaffe that isn't being used anymore
kerrnel - how did you find the upgrade process overall? painful? smooth as silk?
Actually, it just crapped out trying to get the phplayers stuff
I figured it'd be easier to just use svn to grab the 2.0 branch. Guess I'll need to go get the tarball since my compled svn doesn't support SSL
compiled
maybe I'll have another go at compiling svn.
That's odd. a URL ending with "cal?todate=123" ends up at a wiki page.
