Brando753Hey does anyone know how to remove the POWERED BY TIKIWIKI sign at the footer of the page [03:17]
chibaguyBrando753, what theme are you using?
Petjal2, in a site updated to release 2.0, I don't have a problem with st<x>yle.
[03:19]
Brando753the defult theme :D [03:21]
Petjal2chibaguy: thanks. I'm so afraid to upgrade. I tried an svn up last week and got a bunch of adodb or some such errors. Luckily I was smart enough for that brief moment and made a backup which I had to copy back over. [03:23]
chibaguyBrando753, you can uncheck "Bottom bar" on Admin Look & Feel page (tiki-admin.php?page=look), under the "General Layout" tab.
This also stops the other things down there from showing. I don't think there's a specific checkbox for the "powered by" line.
[03:24]
Brando753k 1 sec [03:25]
chibaguyIf you want the rss icons or translation icons, etc., but not the powered-by line, you'll have to edit templates/tiki-bot_bar.tpl, as far as I know. [03:26]
Brando753thx worked great :D [03:28]
chibaguyno problem :-) [03:29]
Petjal2chibaguy: any idea which file has the st<x>yle problem? maybe I can fix just that file? (or, more harder, how to safely upgrade my tw to 2.0 or, egads, 2.1?) [03:34]
chibaguyI just updated a site with ftp to 2.1. I ftp the files (overwrite if source newer), then run the tiki-install.php page to update the db. Smooth as silk. [03:35]
Brando753sweet i changed the text at the buttom to display my articles copyrights thanks :D [03:38]
chibaguy:-) [03:40]
Petjal2hmm, I didn't run the tiki-install.php after my svn up, maybe that was my problem. [03:41]
chibaguyThe install script takes care of database updates.
(Not content, but table structure, etc.)
[03:42]
Petjal2which would maybe explain the adodb errors [03:42]
chibaguyYou don't actually need to run tiki-install.php if you manually update the database instead, as long as new db additions, changes, etc. are made.
But the script is probably the easiest way.
[03:43]
Petjal2oh yeah [03:44]
chibaguyIn the past I used phpMyAdmin, but it's tedious.
...quits at each error. The "errors" reported by tiki-install.php are mostly (all?) about changes that have already been made.
and so the errors can be ignored.
[03:44]
Petjal2as I recall somewhere there was an option to ignore those errors, but I forget where it was [03:47]
chibaguyThere's a flag to set for command line mysql access, but I don't know about in phpMyAdmin. I never found it, if so. [03:49]
Petjal2The blog and {TAG} are not high priority now, so, being as exhausted as I am at the moment, I'll think I'll wait... Thanks for the input, chibaguy! [03:49]

leon007Hi. This is my attempt #3 at the same question :) - any advice would be appreciated. I'd like to collect some info from the users on registration, namely their location (not long, lat, but actual city / country where they live). I want to enable those users to be able to edit that info later on if they wished from their User Preferences under My Tiki. What is the best way of doing it? I looked into trackers - is
or something else?
[03:52]
***ricks99 has quit IRC (Read error: 110 (Connection timed out)) [03:52]
chibaguyleon007, this is what using trackers for additional user information is for, as I understand it. But I haven't tried it myself so don't know the details.
Did you read http://doc.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=User%20Tracker&redirectpage=Registration%20Tracker
?
[03:53]
leon007I did a google search on tiki documentation and somehow didn't see this page. Let me have a look! [03:58]
chibaguyOk [03:59]
leon007I'll try this - sounds somewhat complicated. I am somewhat confused by this step in tracker creation:
There must be a user selector - with the option feeding=1. This field will be automatically filled with the username. Note what the fieldID is for this one.
[04:07]
***Brando753 has quit IRC (Read error: 104 (Connection reset by peer)) [04:07]
chibaguyleon007, maybe you need to go through the steps of making a tracker, if you haven't done that before. [04:17]
***marclaporte has quit IRC (Read error: 113 (No route to host)) [04:18]
chibaguy(but I don't know what "with the option feeding=1" means, either, offhand....) [04:20]
leon007hi chibaguy - thanks for the link. I feel like I am almost there... I do now get a query as a second step of registration, but I am doing something wrong with the way I am trying to reference fieldIds of the trackers,
because I get this:
Incorrect fieldId: fieldId=3, fieldId=4, fieldId=5, fieldId=6
I also tried just 3, 4, 5, 6
never mind... "3: 4: 5: 6" works!

leon007is this the anti-robot code thingy?
those funky jumping around numbers?
[04:41]
***Paragtim has joined #tikiwiki [04:42]
chibaguyNo, similar but in this case it's "Request passcode to register:" option on Admin Login.
The number isn't random, it's set by admin and people registering have to know it in advance.
I assume from the message you're getting that it's turned on or something thinks it is.
[04:43]
leon007no, that was never checked off... Also, if I turn off using trackers on the Group registration (i.e. user is not asked for those fields) then this problem goes away
I can register just fine, that is
u r talking about:
Request passcode to register:
?
it's not checked in the admin
[04:45]
chibaguyYeah, just wanted to eliminate that possibility. [04:49]

[04:51]
chibaguyWell, there's a 2.1 release out today. I don't know if this bug's been fixed, tho. [04:52]
leon007What does this mean:
Sylvieg checked a fix into trunk (3.0). I've back ported tiki-register.php to my Tiki 2.0 and it seems tow work now. Needs additional testing by others.
seems like there is a fix floating somewhere, but where is it?
[04:54]
***vilisi_t has quit IRC ("Leaving.") [04:56]

chibaguyIt seems to mean you can save this -- http://tikiwiki.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/tikiwiki/trunk/tiki-register.php?revision=14417 -- as tiki-register.php and try using it at your site. Maybe keep the current tiki-register.php around just in case you need to switch back. [04:57]
leon007beautiful! it worked... Now I just need to figure out why the value of those trackers don't show up in preferences (just the fields show up) and I'll be on my way... Thanks a lot chibaguy - you've been extremely useful! [05:04]

[11:36]
ricks99page-specific perms will override the category and/or group perms [11:36]
xaviDarklordx11: when you add permissions to a category (or any object in tiki), you have to set explicitly all the permissions you want to all groups [11:37]
Darklordx11Ok, that makes sense. [11:37]

xavisylvieg, and lphuberdeau: in my case, I'll find my way. The sys admin will attempt a mysql upgrade from 4.0.x to 4.1.x (and backups for the hundreds of sites hosted there, etc.). If it succeeds, I'll keep setting up that tiki tomorrow. If for whatever reason the upgrade fails, I'll get an old version of tiki110cvs in the mean time (while the site is successfully upgraded)

and went there under my guest account, and it loaded the page.
I wonder if it was cause I cleared the cache a few mins ago...
Lemme add some of my real pages to it and see if it works.

Seems that having permissions on the category itself was not letting me see or view the pages. Which seems backwards to the reason for having permissions.

chibaguySorry MatWho, I was washing dishes. ;-) [13:42]
MatWhosounds like fun [13:42]
chibaguyDepends on what you like, I guess. ;-|
Well, I'd say Darkroom, The News, or Feb12.
These all use the *litecss layout method.
Tikinewt does, too, but other than that, it contains a lot of CSS from Tikineat, which isn't necessarily modern.
[13:42]
MatWhook so that is what I will do. Thanks. So I will move over to litecss [13:44]
chibaguyUnless something new/better comes along, this layout method will be default in Tiki 3.
(as far as I know)
[13:45]
MatWhothanks :) [13:45]
chibaguySure. Let me know if you run into any problems or have questions. [13:46]
lphuberdeauchibaguy, if you indend on it becoming the default in 3.x, you should make the default change as soon as possible so more of us use it [13:46]
MatWho+1 [13:46]
lphuberdeaudefaults don't change by themselves and I will be more and more against default changes as we move closer to the release
which reminds me that PDO should also be the default if available
[13:47]
chibaguyOK. templates/tiki.tpl, etc. are already *litecss. I didn't think about what else needs to be changed, though I do see tikineat in some lib file.
(in trunk)
[13:50]
lphuberdeauwell, default style should be changed [13:55]

ok, so for my general understanding why if I committed back an update to tiki.sql. Then downloaded a fresh copy from SVN, checked to see my change was in tiki.sql - did it not get run by the installer?
[14:26]
lphuberdeauthat's an other issue [14:31]
MatWhoyes [14:31]
lphuberdeauthe installer does not use tiki.sql
it uses tiki-3.0-*.sql
those are created by some script we run once in a while
but from trunk, if you just create a patch, the installer will handle it for you if it does not have _tiki as a suffix
[14:31]
MatWhook so from what file does the script create the tiki-3* files
Are you are telling me not to add stuff to tkik.sql
if that is true it needs to be removed, surly :)
[14:33]
lphuberdeauwell, is your change custom or will be integrated back in tiki?
tiki.sql becomes only for base tiki stuff
[14:38]
MatWhoit is bug fixes and enhancements to webmail - needs to be ther in a new 3.0 install.
so what is the definition of base? I will have to back out my fixes to webmail, because they break a new install. Unless I put the changes in each of the tiki-x.x-x.sql files
boring - or have I got the wrong end of the stick - again? :)

lphuberdeausorry, I have nothing in the background to help you on this one ;) [20:38]
SEWilco2I suspect I'll have to write scripts to grab RSS data and use that to grab images for upload. [20:38]
lphuberdeauuploading has nothing to do with RSS
picasa probably has APIs you can call, but that's all custom code on tiki side
[20:39]
SEWilco2I mean using a TW RSS feed from an Image Directory for the script to find uploaded images. The script would probably be a cron job, running outside the TW environment. [20:41]
lphuberdeauoh that makes more sense [20:41]
SEWilco2I was hoping there already was a TW tool someplace which would help with the task, such as by being able to ask which images had been uploaded since a specific one. [20:42]
NarksterQuick question, when returning data from a wikiplugin_ can I have wiki markup in it? i.e.: Do I need to href a link or can I use the wiki bracket syntax? [20:44]
