[01:56] <mib_union> can someone here tell me what the problem is on setting up access for File Directories in the latest version of tikiwiki.. I am trying to design a site and got it pretty well handle on it except the permmissions are not working right for the FILE directories
[01:56] <mib_union> The problem is this
[01:56] <mib_union> I can get the file directory created in admin
[01:56] <mib_union> I can see it in admin
[01:56] <mib_union> I can manipulate in admin
[01:57] <mib_union> Yet if I log in as registered user, I DO not see the files
[01:57] <mib_union> I found out I can manually type the address as a re gistered user and I can get to the folder.
[01:57] <mib_union> How come its not showing as defualt, If I log in as a editor, I can see the files

[02:03] <Tikiwiki|bot> You can get a more complete list of commands that work with this bot at http://tikiwiki.org/TikiBot .
[02:03] <Caarrie> i have a question
[02:03] <Tikiwiki|bot> Welcome to the official Tikiwiki English Irc channel, Please just ask your question, dont ask to ask, someone will reply if and when they know the answer. Welcome again and please stay awhile
[02:03] <Caarrie> ^^
[02:04] <Caarrie> mib_union: that is for you
[02:04] <dthacker> mib_union: have you checked the perms for the "registered user" group?
[02:04] <mib_union> Yes..
[02:04] <mib_union> and yes
[02:05] <Caarrie> which perms [exact] does the group have?
[02:05] * dthacker has to go reboot a server. later
[02:05] <mib_union> Ok, you got 12 permissions the can be set for the file permissions
[02:05] <mib_union> and hang on a sec I advise you what I have checked
[02:06] <SEWilco2> If the file directory has any Categories attached, are there any permissions on those categories?
[02:07] <SEWilco2> mib_union: Also, what is the version of your TikiWiki? Should be near the top of Admin > General.
[02:07] <mib_union> Latets version 2.2
[02:08] <mib_union> I have 7 of the 12 options checked
[02:08] <mib_union> the options not checked are
[02:09] <mib_union> admin file directores
[02:09] <mib_union> assign permisision
[02:09] <mib_union> the batch uploads
[02:10] <mib_union> and the edit galley file
[02:10] <mib_union> every thing else is checked
[02:10] <mib_union> but if the "registered" user goes to the file directory, they dont see the files
[02:10] <mib_union> dont see the folders either
[02:10] <mib_union> but .. can manually type the folder directory in the url and it works
[02:11] <mib_union> is this a bug in 2.2
[02:17] <SEWilco2> If that file gallery has any Categories, check the permissions on those categories.
[02:19] <mib_union> No catergories yet for that .. I am building a brand new web site /tiki site and I just put 2 different folders with 2 different files up.
[02:20] <mib_union> I got the other parts of the site working like i want or pretty sure I do .. just this file directory is throwing me for a loop. I want registered to see it but not anonymouse, If when I am putting the files up and check the part make available to public it shows to all.
[02:20] <mib_union> and when I am putting it up I also have it check, make available to non admin users which I assume is the code that makes it based on permissions

[03:04] <cnd> Anyone know if tikiwiki is capable of "replication"? So (for example) I can run 2 servers (eg: one inside a school LAN, and another on an external web-hosting-account), and updates to one or the other (or either) get applied to the other(s) automatically ?
[03:16] <cnd> Anyone knww what this means?:-
[03:16] <cnd> [Sun Feb 01 03:14:21 2009] [error] [client 172.22.0.123] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_internal_encoding() in /srv/www/htdocs/pbcc/tiki-setup_base.php on line 508

[03:38] <cnd> One more quickie... on a fresh install of 3.0b0 - the WYSIWYG editor doesn't work - (I click "Use wysiwyg editor" - but it just shows the "normal" editor, with the tab at the top now saying "Use normal editor"). I have enabled it in the settings. I don't see any errors in the logs or anything either. How do I get FCKeditor to work ?

[16:43] <SEWilco2> cnd: mb_internal_encoding() is documented in php.net as being a Multibyte String function.
[16:43] <SEWilco2> cnd: "mbstring is a non-default extension" says php.net. Check how to install or enable it in your PHP installation.
[16:45] <SEWilco2> cnd: I don't know anything about FCKeditor other than in general terms. Sounds like it isn't starting, so check web server error logs and FCKeditor installation documentation for hints.

[21:35] <cnd> Hmm - making tw3 unuseable unless customers recompile PHP to enable a non-default feature sounds like an ideal way to make it impossible for 90%+ of anyone to be able ot use tw3 ?
[21:37] <cnd> (fwiw - commenting out that line of code seemed to bypass the problem without side effects; assuming this isn't related to my wysiwyg issue :-)
