brandiHi. Links on my wiki sometimes break without explanation when adding an image or similar to a page...
...often the link will look fine on the page and sometimes also look fine in the "edit link" window but clicking the link gets you a 404.
anyone know what could be causing this type of results?

SEWilco2brandi: Those are links on Wiki pages, blog, or web directory pages? And which version of TikiWiki? [04:10]
brandiWiki pages....
checking the version..
[04:11]
SEWilco2brandi: Does your browser show the destination of the URL (maybe at the bottom of the browser) before clicking? [04:12]
brandiSEWilco2: It does. [04:12]
SEWilco2brandi: Are those links to external sites or within your site? [04:13]
brandihttp://wiki.bitengine.ca/tiki-index.php
internal to the site
it's the management topics link
that is one of them anyway.
[04:13]
SEWilco2brandi: Oh, so your site is sometimes failing to respond. [04:14]
brandiwell.
it seems to be the link... hence the 404. If I re-do that link, everything is fine
basically if I edit the link and select a target for it again.
[04:14]
SEWilco2Has the site seemed to be slower than it used to be?
Are these large images which you're adding?
[04:16]
brandinope. :|
not really. they're pretty small.
[04:16]
SEWilco2http://wiki.bitengine.ca/Management%20Topics
That is 404.
[04:17]
brandiright. [04:17]
SEWilco2Notice the URL has the name, but does not have tiki-index.php. [04:17]
brandiah. ha.
why is that?
[04:18]
SEWilco2Did you turn on SEFURL without installing the .htaccess file? [04:18]
***latlink_ has left [04:18]
brandidon't think so. what is that? :) [04:18]
SEWilco2The URL should include tiki-index.php, like the other URLs do.
To get rid of tiki-index.php you have to turn on the still-being-developed SEFURL (Search Engine Friendly URL) feature.
[04:19]
brandiwondering why it would be doing that. issue is that the link initially works but breaks when some changes are made to the page. it can even happen when a new link is added -- was just told about that.
I see.
[04:19]
SEWilco2But turning on SEFURL requires you to first install .htaccess on a web server which obeys "rewrite rules". [04:20]
brandiokay. so I don;t think that's the issue but the info does help.
since we're not using SEFURL.
[04:20]
SEWilco2Is your web server a single machine, or are there several machines sharing the load? [04:20]
brandiit's actually a shared/ hosted machine..
..once we get this done and get everyone's buy-in, it will go to a proper production environment.
...which might be a single or load balanced set-up.
unfortunately I have to run now. Thanks very much for all your help, SEWilco2!
[04:21]
SEWilco2Rewrite the link. Probably http://wiki.bitengine.ca/tiki-index.php?page=Management+Topics [04:22]
brandithat works. it's just this particular link. [04:22]
SEWilco2brandi: Maybe .htaccess is installed but only some web servers obey it. [04:22]
brandiIt
's all on one server though.
I'll continue looking into this and maybe post some mroe info or a solution on the forums in case someone else has similar troubles.
thanks again!

[08:00]
RockOk, then how to remove the some unwanted themes, shall i delete unwanted themes or any more? [08:02]

is it possiable

SEWilco2luciash: I think he changed a .tpl to emit a URL to a new tiki-flashview.php which uses our new {VIDEO} plugin.
luciash: We're going to polish {VIDEO} next week so we can emit it to trunk.
[19:01]
luciashi guess file galleries tiki-download_file.php needs a param like &preview but for files, maybe &view [19:01]
SEWilco2Heh. We're planning on also adding a Thumbnail column to filegals, where thumbnail will be generated by configurable plugin. [19:02]
luciashnice .) [19:03]
SEWilco2So when browsing a filegal of type video podcast, the {VIDEO} plugin will be called. Plugin will decide how to emit thumbnail - which may be full click-to-view window. [19:03]
sylviegluciash: are you file in a podcast lib? [19:03]
luciashnormal mixed files lib [19:04]
sylvieg... because I think you need an extension to the file - the pog gal keeps the extension and so the files are able to be see directly
my 2 cents....
[19:04]
SEWilco2We have an {AUDIO} plugin also which will adapt for audio podcast filegal. Someone will have to create a general thumbnailer for other files. [19:05]
luciashsylvieg: ah, the trick with &.jpg ? ;)
i'll try it on filegal file download

luciashmust it be specified as podcast gallery ?
SEWilco2: text to speech ? nope, it just displays pdf in fancy window layer opened up over the page if you have pdf plugin installed in your browser ;)
shadowbox is just eye candy to display media
[19:25]
SEWilco2luciash: Oh, OK. I'll delay reading aloud the slide's descriptions until version 3 of {SLIDESHOW} then. :-)
Yup, next week I'll probably write {SLIDESHOW} using one of the simpler tech, then add shadowbox if it's been enabled.
My first version will probably use ...page... to show images. If shadowbox is enabled then it may instead use it, depending on plugin config.

if I edit tracker item and save, itemID works fine
I don't know if that can be related to mouse over issue
