Well, it kind of downloads. Doesn't download as "dl123" but does as "podcasts/lsdjfslfsdfldfkjdslfjsdf", and as a BIN file instead of MPEG.
I see the filename is missing .mpeg extension.

CIA-71: tikiwiki: 03pkdille * r16784 10/trunk/lang/fr/language.php: [MOD] french translation file : get_strings + some translations ***: lq_950 has joined #tikiwiki lq_950: Hello. I have a large number of items in my wiki database without categories assigned. Can someone explain to me how the category information is stored in the wiki database? SEWilco2: lq_950: If I recall correctly, there are tables for category info. lq_950: yeah I've looked at the tables but I can't make sense of it
how is it that the database tells the wiki what pages are within what category
in other words I can't seem to find how the categories are linked to the wiki pages SEWilco2: lq_950: Oh, I see what you mean. I thought that was in tiki_category_objects, but I don't see how that identifies objects of different types. Hmm.
lq_950: Oh, I think I see it. Look at tiki_objects.
lq_950: I'd have to check code to be certain, but I suspect "type" and "itemid" identify a kind of thing and the thing's id. Such as "articles","34" is a specific article. lq_950: ok checking it now. thanks SEWilco2: lq_950: The objectId is then used in tiki_category_objects to connect objects to categories. Probably.
lq_950: That's a guess based on the database. The code is the authority. sylvieg: + tiki-category_object associatess categId and categObjectId , tiki_categorized_objects associates categObjectId and objectId obnox: hi folks
Anything objections to me modifying the display of "new users" to include only those who have already confirmed their login?
err, well, broken language, but I guess you know what I mean... :-) sylvieg: obnox: seems a good idea obnox: sylvieg: the solution seems to be to extend the queries to check for "`provpass`=''" sylvieg: I can not garanty that wihiout looking at the code - there is so many registration case.... SEWilco2: obnox: List a column "confirmed" Y/N? Allow sorting by columns? obnox: well the confirm_user function sets provpass to ''
SEWilco2: that'd be nice,too
I was firstly thinking about the new_users feature in the modules/mod-since_last_visit* modules lq_950: Ok I've looked at how the stuff is linked. The problem is most of the items I have listed in tiki_pages are NOT listed in tiki_objects. What could be causing this? obnox: SEWilco2: but as a next step the enhancement of the admin users page, yeah, I'm gonna look into that SEWilco2: lq_950: Don't know. Maybe tiki_objects isn't what we're looking for. Hmm. lq_950: It may be. I have a few items listed there sylvieg: tiki_objects is filled up only when needed - first categ, or first freetag... lq_950: so there is no way I can link items in tiki_pages to a category in the database? sylvieg: you have to create the tiki_objects line on the fly SEWilco2: lq_950: Oh. Categories are for linking things like an entire wiki page, not things within the wiki page. lq_950: ??? sorry I don't know what that means.
hmmm. The items in my tiki_pages are wiki pages, or will be. Could the problem be that alot of them are just blank pages at the moment? If I fill in some data would it place them in objects? SEWilco2: Looks to me as if tiki_objects is for things like links and images used in wiki pages. Not what I was thinking.
lq_950: If you're creating the items, why are you worried about the database instead of assigning categories to pages?
lq_950: I thought you were asking about the database because you were altering a program.
lq_950: Do you know how to assign a category to a page? On the edit page there is a text button-like thing to display a list of categories. lq_950: right now I have a bunch of pages created with no information in them
I was trying to go ahead and assign them to the proper category for now
yeah I know how to assign them 1 at a time. problem is I have roughly 4000 to assign SEWilco2: lq_950: I am not aware of a tool for assigning categories to pages. Interesting idea; an export/import format for category assignment.
lq_950: Did you find your categorized pages in tiki_objects? lq_950: yes SEWilco2: lq_950: And do the objectIds match those in the tiki_categor* tables? sylvieg: http://mods.tikiwiki.org/details.php?type=goodies&mod=batch_load_pages not sure it is working SEWilco2: Thanks, sylvieg. If batch_load_pages doesn't include category info then maybe adding that to the existing format would be a way to start. lq_950: yeah they match. The problem is I have a bunch of stuff listed in tiki_pages not showing in the tiki_objects yet. could it be that I just need to add some info for them to show? SEWilco2: lq_950: Based on what I see in tiki_objects, it looks like things are added when they are needed. No categorization, no need for an objectId.
lq_950: Pick a page which doesn't have an object, add a category, then look again. lq_950: yeah but like my homepage has an objectid, but it's not assigned to a category
so why would it be in the objects table? SEWilco2: lq_950: For that matter, look at the program for editing a wiki page and see how the category info is processed.
lq_950: The objectId is used for many things other than categories. obnox: hmmm, there is a "race condition" in the confirmed-users thing as it is currently: the registrationDate is not update upon confirmation lq_950: I think I have an idea lol SEWilco2: obnox: Is registrationDate supposed to indicate when they started the process, or when they confirmed? lq_950: I imported a bunch of stuff into the products table using a script I wrote (didn't know about the batch thing) and not into objects
I bet if I just put them in objects too that I'll be able to link them in no time SEWilco2: lq_950: See how that batch page tool works, and see if it has categories or if that data can be added to the imported data. lq_950: not products table (pages table)
I can just use my script again. The tables are similar. SEWilco2: lq_950: See how batched pages are processed, and imagine the category data riding along and being processed when appropriate. lq_950: one more question though. How can I keep the ip addresses of my users from showing? SEWilco2: lq_950: Well, back up your database and good luck. Would be nice to have a generalized tool.
lq_950: I don't know where they are visible. I'd look at the code for the page where they are visible, then at the .tpl file for that page. lq_950: They're in the "last changes" page SEWilco2: lq_950: Keeping in mind that if you create a custom style you can have separate .tpl files for that style. lq_950: can I just keep that from showing? SEWilco2: lq_950: The purpose of the .tpl is to emit the stuff on the page. So just have it not emit stuff. Or add a configuration parameter to control that. lq_950: yeah I realize I could just delete that
but I want to keep it for me (admin) but not have it so registered and anon users can see it obnox: SEWilco2: well _I_ would say that the registrationDate should indicate when the registration has been completed, so the confirm_user should update the registrationDate. right? SEWilco2: There would be more control if you add a permission. Then admins can control who can see it. Or maybe there is such a permission -- there are so many.
obnox: Depends on the meaning of "registration". I consider filling out the paperwork as the registration, not after the registration has been processed. obnox: SEWilco2: well, there is no separation between registrationDate and confirmationDate (or so)
so when is registration completed ***: Lucymoz has quit IRC (Read error: 110 (Connection timed out)) obnox: I'd say, when the account has been confirmed SEWilco2: obnox: I don't know the intent. I'd leave an existing registrationDate alone, but if it is NULL at confirmation time then I'd fill it in. obnox: SEWilco2: add_user does fill the registrationDate, so confirm_user will always find a registrationDate already
SEWilco2: the intent is the following: SEWilco2: obnox: Then apparently the coder intended for "registration" to mean when the paperwork is filled in, not when they get around to confirming.
obnox: What is the founder's intent? obnox: I want to change what the mod-since_last_visit* think are the new users since the last login
i would like it to see only the users that have confirmed their login SEWilco2: obnox: Sounds like you need a different date field, or an option to update registrationDate upon confirmation. obnox: SEWilco2: why an option? i'd simply update registrationDate in confirm_user SEWilco2: obnox: If registrationDate is updated upon confirmation, "new users" need only show those with date AND confirmed_flag (whatever its actual name is) match. obnox: exactly SEWilco2: obnox: An option is necessary if you want to be exactly compatible with the present behavior. obnox: SEWilco2: i don't get you. I want to change present behaviour. :-) SEWilco2: obnox: If you want to change the present behavior for all TW, I can't judge that. Ask the dev list.
obnox: I haven't even reread the doc to see if the current behavior is documented, much less whether reasons for the design are given. obnox: SEWilco2: ok, gonna read. SEWilco2: obnox: For that matter, if the correct doc doesn't describe the current behavior then you could document it. :-) It can be updated if something changes. obnox: sylvieg: said above it sounded like a good idea, but in order to carry it through, this change is needed
SEWilco2: or change then document... ;-) SEWilco2: obnox: Yes, it does sound useful. Unless someone wants new users to show before confirmation, such as if one wants to delete idiots before they become visible. obnox: SEWilco2: btw: you're talking about paperwork, when is the paperwork finished? why does confirmation not belong to the paperwork? isn't it the final signature? sylvieg: perhaps there is 2 behavior - admin sees all the user - non admin sees only confirmed SEWilco2: I wonder if there is an "RSS feed of new users". obnox: i don't want to change all even unconfirmed users showing up in the admin users page! ***: lq_950 has quit IRC ("CGI:IRC") obnox: only the mod-since-last modules SEWilco2: obnox: I'm equating paperwork delays to delays in confirmation. When you register to college, the date you fill out the paperwork is when you register.

1. you fill out the initial form ***: kerrnel has quit IRC ("CGI:IRC (Ping timeout)") obnox: 2. college sends you a confirmation form
3. you sign the confirmation form with current date...
