Nurtaso anyone know something about phplayers? I'm using a top menu with drop down menus, and now I get a 'lwidth is not defined' whenever you hover over a menu option rather than it dropping down. Trying to circumvent that by hardcoding menu width leads to 'layer' not being defined. Best I can tell for some reason some code isn't getting called. The only thing i know of that changed was that...
...I installed aulawiki. Uninstalling it didn't help. All I could find on google was something related to footer.tpl , which I didn't touch. Anyone have any ideas?

xavidid you check that your .css file haseverything you need for phplayers?
I mean, do you have the same problem with other theme styles?
[10:07]
Nurtawell it worked on the same style most of the time, then it just stopped. I haven't removed anything from it [10:07]
xaviis your site viewable online somewhere? [10:08]
Nurtayeah http://www.rpisocial.com [10:08]
xaviand... what did you change before phplayers stopped working? [10:08]
Nurtathe only thing I know for sureI did before that was installing Aulawiki [10:09]
xaviok, step by step. Nice Ohia theme there...
how can I reproduce the problem ?
[10:10]
Nurtaheh, thanks [10:10]
xavifor me the site looks ok [10:10]
Nurtajust mouse over the "wiki" option up top
it should be a drop down menu
it should give you a js error
er, it shouldn't give the error, but that's what it's doing
[10:10]
xaviI don't see any error
how can I see the js error?
I just don't see any drop down phplayers menu
[10:11]
Nurtado you have a js console open? [10:12]
xavimmm, nope, just the developer toolbar from firefox [10:12]
Nurtain FF it's tools- Error Console by default I believe [10:12]
xaviI'm not skilled with js. I?ll have a look, though [10:13]
Nurtathe error comes through as "Error: lwidth is not defined
Source File: http://www.rpisocial.com/tiki/lib/phplayers/libjs/layersmenu.js
Line: 162"
[10:13]
xaviyes, I see it.
and you got that error just after aulawiki was installed???
where did you install aulawiki from , btw?
[10:14]
NurtaI noticed it while installing it, I can't say for sure it didn't start a little before [10:15]
xaviedu.tw.o/mods or mods.tw.o?
(different versions, afaik)
[10:15]
Nurtathe first one
I tried the second one first, but it errored, because the version was incompatible
[10:15]
xaviso, my best advice is that, if you can work on other things for 5-6 hours, you'll have in this channel pleny of people who will be more skilled than me to help you with the js error...
the js error seems to me as if that lwidth is not defined in ohia.css ...
[10:16]
Nurtaheh, yeah, I was planning on going to sleep soon, it's 5 am here [10:17]
xaviand the aulawiki mod has it's own issues (in the way to being fixed) related to theme style display.... [10:17]

xavinope, it's differnt
the one I started is for end users...
yours is far more complete (I bet), and as a reminder for developers, users, etc.
so that many other osers (like me) can add things from that list in dev to the list in doc.tw.o with screenshots, etc.

***Botrax has joined #tikiwiki [17:21]
sylviegsorry I did not get the beginning of the conversation about password - was trying to broadcast [17:22]
luciashi think "site identity" is actually two parts of site customization: 1) identity as in textual representation of the entity: name, legal stuff, copyright, custom code like google code, etc. 2) identity as in corporate identity: logo, colors, graphics and other overall look and feel
so it's difficult to "categorize" this
[17:22]
BotraxHave 2.2 and the LAST FILES module only displays the files in ONE category. What am I missing here? All galleries are publicly downloadable.
Just upgraded from 1.9
[17:23]
chibaguyI'm thinking about it visually, how the visitor sees the site. Then the browser title and the logo/site title are both part of site identity, I think. [17:23]
sylviegBotrax do you special perms on the categories?
if yes - clean the cache + log out + log in + go the categ perm to assign tiki_p_view_categorized - it is a new perm and sometimes the upgrade does not go well
[17:24]
BotraxNo. Only the one listed in LAST FIILES has SPECIFIC permissions for Anonymous to view and download, then added the same permissions to the other galleries, still do not see the other files in LAST FILES. [17:25]
sylvieg... at least clear the caches [17:25]
luciashi think Site Identity needs its own section or just a little part where the browsertitle would be set in General and little link "set more in Look & Feel" ? [17:28]
chibaguywhy general for the browser title?
(not arguing, just wanting to know your thinking)
[17:30]
luciashbecause it's not affecting look and feel of the site but it's a general preference which every admin goes to set as first imho
it made more sense when L&F was still named Site Identity back in the past to have it there, but now user can be confused finding this preference in L&F
[17:31]
BotraxCleared the cach, logged out , logged in, assigned Categorized View to Anonymous, Registered, Admins, I still have the same issue. Gah... this is annoying. [17:33]
chibaguyum, ok. well, let's hear again on this from marc and jean-marc. [17:34]

xaviyes, I know. However, a high percentage of tiki sites use the default theme, and they don't change it... [18:58]

chibaguyluciash, yeah, L&F uses float now, to position left, right or center. Also banner takes the opposite position if it is also turned on. But then there is a conflict
with login form if it's up in that space too.
Partly users just have to know they can't turn on every feature in the same rectangle.
[19:50]
luciashi guess for every two floated should be a clear: both break [19:51]

The original design had some link there, I think, because that rectangle was shared with some links so there wasn't much room for a form.
So a good tiki implementation is needed there.

amette... my point was later rephrased by Nelson and me to be "It is not really a full blown feature, but rather a workaround" [20:27]
sylviegsefurl?
the samrty modifier is a full feature
smarty
[20:27]
ametteyup, because it relies on .htaccess and therefore can't check application internals [20:28]
sylviegthe postfilter is a workaround [20:28]
amettethe smarty modifier is a wonderful and smart feature :)
my point was that the other way "going into the application" should be handled in the application also and not by .htaccess
which would need a dispatcher and therefore cost lots of computing time
[20:28]
sylvieg.... how do we do that? [20:28]
ametteso we decided to stay with the .htaccess "workaround" [20:29]

sylviegsylvieg wonders how people on IIS do that - because not sure there is rewrite rules on IIS [20:30]
ametteyup, that is another thing we found out at the lunch table (should have taken the microphone with us... ;) )
.. .we are very much dependent on Apache already and people are not afraid of making us a MySQL/Apache only project...
... I seem to be the only one not agreeing with that! ;)
[20:30]

ametteyup, IIS really is not anything, anyone should ever want to work with.. ;)
.. but lighttpd e.g. would be great! :)
but the more features we use of mod_rewrite (e.g. lph found a smart solution for solving the ". in wiki-page-names allowed"), the more dependant we become on apache

[20:34]

amettesylvieg: yes, automatically generate would be a "bad idea" most probably, because making .htaccess apache-writable is not too smart...

[20:35]
SEWilco2sylvieg: The DB table with rewrite rules should include the corresponding .htaccess rule. [20:35]

ametteyup [20:36]
***mib_78yvfb has joined #tikiwiki [20:37]
sylviegok if you can do it ... but I am not sure it is an easy task
the notion of order is important in .htaccess not really in sefurl rule

ametteyeah, I don't think so either - actually that is rather really hard - mod_rewrite alone is Voodoo!! Then doing such a trick.. wow.. [20:37]
SEWilco2sylvieg: Order in .htaccess has to be part of rule definition.

luciashyep, i am for removing the checkbox, nobody replied when i asked today
i tried to explain the problem, but only one listening was gary actually, it seems... :-p
[22:29]
amettewhich checkbox? [22:31]
luciashsorry about that [22:31]
marclaporteok, so Site Identity checkbox will die, and all Site identity stuff are all optional within [22:31]
luciashcheckbox for siteidentity, i think it's obsolete
read the irc log ;)
i'll point you
[22:31]
SEWilco2If one turns off Site Identity, doesn't that disable HTML header? Maybe a checkbox is useful for recovery from fatal HTML error. [22:33]
luciashhttp://irc.tikiwiki.org/irclogger_log/tikiwiki?date=2009-03-01,Sun&sel=758#l754 [22:33]
amettehow to get there, when it's fatal? [22:33]
SEWilco2(How one would check the box is left as an exercise for the admin. I'd flip it in the database.) [22:34]
luciashyes, i agree [22:34]
SEWilco2I'd think General should have all mandatory things. Configure General and the site should be functional. [22:35]
ametteyup, that sounds very reasonable to me... [22:36]
SEWilco2Which "that" is that that? [22:36]
amettethat that is that that, that you said that 2 lines ago ;) [22:37]
luciashactually it started here: http://irc.tikiwiki.org/irclogger_log/tikiwiki?date=2009-03-01,Sun&sel=567#l563
and here i talked about the two views of site identity: http://irc.tikiwiki.org/irclogger_log/tikiwiki?date=2009-03-01,Sun&sel=581#l577
http://irc.tikiwiki.org/irclogger_log/tikiwiki?date=2009-03-01,Sun&sel=593#l589
[22:38]
chibaguyI think fundamentally site identity / look and feel refer to visible page elements.
...that 'personalize' the site.
[22:40]

And further how is it possible to add additional info, taken from other tracker field, to the top of new wiki page above the edit area. thanks

the {toc} I do not understand
[23:45]
SEWilco2gerbert: I don't know if a new page can be automatically created, but if you want to display tracker data without allowing alteration on the Wiki page then you need a tracker plugin. [23:46]
