multilingual features still do not work properly Darkbee: I'm using v2.3 and I have a user who got locked out of their account (multiple unsuccessful login attempts). They get the re-validation email but when they go to the URL they get a "feature not enabled" message.
tiki-confirm_user_email.php says if (!isset($prefs['email_due']) || $prefs['email_due'] < 0) but I don't know what "feature" email due is. voraistos: example: I install tiki, restrict available languages to english, french and spanish. set tiki up with detect browser lang, user pref lang and user can change lang
i set my browser for preferred language - french, and tiki won't let me

sylvieg: quick bug report, setting "use database for translation" seems to break the whole multilingual thing. Note: after (de)activating it in tiki-admin.php?page=i18n , I get messages such as "preference language set"
it even tells me "preference language set" when I activate db translation (and at the same time obviously breaks the stuff that make $prefs['language'] work.
there seems to be some cock-ups with caching as well
some things appear in french, others in english, and other thing in both french and english

Because it won't become part of the Tiki download, and users won't want to install a mod that replaces a core file, only to have the file overwritten again at the next update.
If your idea sounds useful enough to be incorporated into the core code (and made optional, if that's logical), then it should be done there.
I guess the answer is how useful would this modification be to what percentage of users?
If only .05% of all Tiki site admins want to display forum threads from another Tiki site, I don't know if this would look like a very useful modification of the code.

you're supposed to be able to have a map of all users if they set their gps location. Plus create a tracker list and attach gps locations to any tracker item and then plot a google map from that.. caralluna: if the new image/file gallery gets the ability to read EXIF/IPTC info that is probably what might make me change my mind spoonypjk: and all of that only half works.. none of the plotting actually works/saves etc. and some of the buttons do the wrong thing. So its not really useful for anything other than displaying a map with nothing on it. which is a real shame. caralluna: ah, sounds nice ;-) spoonypjk: I've tried having a poke around the code but havent been able to grasp how it all ties together and passes things around yet.
yeah it would be great for a bunch of things I'm working on. Definitely the users map.. as we're planning starting up a physical space and would be handle to see everyones home location. And then plotting a list of possible places to rent etc would also be handy.
Then when we're doing projects, or playing around with wireless links.. plotting those too would be useful.

the odd thing is that your install is definitely active different than mine
but there is a def. problem with tiki no knowing what directory it is running in ***: Caarrie|away is now known as Caarrie uSlacker: it appears to want to create all its folders in the root of C:
I tied & tried to understand it, but I'm going to n eed to pair with one of the installer people who really understand php
