marclaporte: lol marclaporte: could you test again ? files are on sf should be ok now I'll have to investigate why the release script is not tagging with the last secdb commit... but not now ;p (it's late here...) hehe, ok I will get new .zip so ? :) marclaporte: still eating ? ;) I need to go ... I tested and it seems ok now See you later bye back is there somewhere that someone can see all the parameters that exist for each module to make sure the docs are complete look @ the code? ok not that familiar with code is it easy to pick out for a layperson? good chane to learn. ;--) you're right! btw, gr8 job on the docs so far. thank you! anxious to see your admin panels i've heard a lot about them any thoughts on streamlining the menu structure for doc.tw.o? tx. admin panels have been my pet peve for a LONG time do you mean left and right columns or Documentation structure or both left/right cols (modules, content, etc.) for now doc structure later not sure i have a good answer yet i find that i use the keywords even though i thought it was hideously long at first also use search by page name which surprises me i didn't think i would at first really.... interesting i h8 the keyword list :( i'd rather use tags the freetags? imho, keywords like "dogfood" are meaningless to most end-users y. tags=freetags that's a good point i thought i would like freetags more than i do so far requiresa lot of groundwork agree it should be superior if fully developed want to work on the admin doc pages once i see your new panels what do u think is missing? not sure how many pages have them not sure it's an accurate heat map not yet but would/could provide a much better navigation method for end-users just my $0.02 polom i've been toying with adding tags to Smarties moloq yes, maybe if we use freetags, the list of keywords will no longer be useful amette: can you svn up dev & doc? what does tht mean, adding tags to smarties? "TW for Smarties" (http://twbasics.keycontent.org) tags also give xrefs for free (via similiar function). how could i forget, that's a great site will your admin panels change a lot after beta 4? no. should be 99% "done" at this point thanks - good to know ricks99_: do you get what plugin aliases do? if not, here is an example: http://dev.tikiwiki.org/tiki-pagehistory.php?page=Module&diff_style=unidiff&compare=Compare&newver=0&oldver=7 good night all! hello everybody hi hi marclaporte hello! I wonder what was the correct name for ie6 or ie7 stylesheets in theme's styles/ directories. sylvieg would know. I believe it's possible to have a theme-specific css file in that directory for ie6 and ie7 overrides. but so far I'm not having success. the global ie7 css file is working nicely tho. ah, I see a problem... hmm, no, copy-paste seems correct.... polom polom >last --with luci [23:12:42] <marclaporte> luciash: http://dev.tikiwiki.org/ -> css menu bug with bottom left menu. It is easy to fix? thx Sug4r what bug does marclaporte mean? chibaguy: i explained to him and fixed on dev.tw.o ah there was missing type=vert and overflow=y also if he wants arrows, jquery needs to be turned on. he said it's too complicated though arrows appeared there need profile to do this out of the box yay marc :) already woken up ? true, the menu code needs to be improved in general.. congrats for beta4, we're getting closer and closer ;) sylvieg did a good start, I made revisions, then jquery came along and some things sort of mixed in... so it's kind of a stew need to get to bed have meetings tomorrow good night marclaporte. sleep well. nite marc marclaporte: today ;) hehe chibaguy: i haven't doc.tikiwiki.org is starting to be much better now lindon cleanup so much junk chibaguy: i mean i haven't experienced that I've had my browser caching turned off. Maybe that's the reason. in answer to my question earlier, it seems that a file like styles/strasa/css/ie6.css should load for ie6. I think that's the intention. ah http://irc.amette.eu/irclogger_log/tikiwiki?date=2008-09-03,Wed&sel=393#l389 I'm trying with ie7 but not having luck so far. seems it should work according what sylvie comited if nobody broke later luciash, really the *:first-child+html isn't working for me, with my ie7 (version 7.0.5730.13) and current svn branch 3. I don't know why. if I add a property with that hack, something simple like a colored border or something, no effect... mysterious chibaguy: test here → http://www.dynamicsitesolutions.com/css/filters/first-child-plus-html/ chibaguy: make sure you have the tpl in html comments off chibaguy: or it will switch your browser to quirks mode because sylvie renders them in the beginning of top level tpls as i pointed out earlier yep the test box is green - hack is applied where do I turn off html comments, again? dmin > general not in features - programmer ? blame sylvie ;) for 4.0 we can include these hack tests yes, that was the problem. thanks. bank -> bang ROFL :D np :) rule 1 for developing for IE: first check the compatibility mode I'm not compatible with IE, I already checked that. :-) *g* it's always pain when you don't know it's in quirks or strict mode What is the way to check? some javascript in URL bar i posted some weeks ago ah right javascript:alert(document.compatMode); chibaguy: search my mail to you with "Re: IE7 right column rendering problem: quirks/standard mode ?" - IE7 is even more crappy about that ;) yes, i see later, gotta do some work here ok tikiwiki: 03nyloth * r18150 10/mods/trunk/Packages/features-phpcas.info.txt: [FIX] phpcas mod: fix files listing that was blocking installation tikiwiki: 03nyloth * r18151 10/branches/3.0/ (4 files in 3 dirs): [FIX] phpcas auth: some fixes for CAS authentication that was not working anybody else experiencing that browser title and sender email input during installation is empty when install is finished? caralluna, you mean after you input them during the install process? new install, I inout them during the install process, then when install is finished and I go to tiki-admin.php?page=general the two fields are empty *input What Tiki version is that? it says 3.0b4 now, but it was installed before the committing to b4 yesterday it couldn't be the svn upping that reset that? I don't know. In my 3.0beta4 test site, the fields have the input info in them. ok will themes that work under 2.x also work under 3.x ? Beestje, it depends on the theme Biggest problems will be for themes that used the old tiki.tpl template. In Tiki 3, the default tiki.tpl uses divs rather than table for main layout. ah, k My impression is that the themes that is in 2.x that is not in 3.x will not be maintained ... is that correct? Right, not in their old form anyway. It'll be fairly easy to get the visual look by doing theme options. I really think there should be more themes in 3.x, though I understand if it takes a lot of time to maintain them For instance, at http://zukakakina.com/tw3/ you can choose Tikinewt, then choose a theme option. These options could have appearance of old themes. We want to have not too many included themes, but make it easier to create variations, etc. Plus I've got a scheme worked out where there'll be a layout.css file that a new custom theme can include, and thus get most/all the layout-type css taken care of. So making a new theme should be a lot easier. This'll be documented pretty soon. personally, I think that many people use a different cms because of the nice themes that are available for them. good :-) I really want a good dark theme for 3.x, and I don't like darkroom because of too much space between lines yes, more and nicer themes are definitely something we want. Beestje: Yes, that is probably true to a certain degree While we already have some good themes, I think tikiwiki is like a ferrari that's disguised as a lada ;) planetfall is nice ;-) yeah, very true :-P Another thing is to make it easier to find and install new themes. Themes.tw.o and mods.tw.o aren't noticed by people, often. you have some very nice themes on that site chibaguy ;-) Thanks, as soon as Tiki 3 is out I can finish up details and make download packages. But I want to convert them to use the layout.css method, too. X-tratoveil is beautiful :-) Heh, yeah, I really like that one, but right now it's missing major chunks of its graphics. yeah, I see that is it possible to "protect" files and/or directories on an installation using SVN? and I love Ohia I don't know about protecting that way. abse would be very nice were it not for the background image and those darn mousesoverstuff *mouseover Heh, that's what the theme option feature could take care of. yeah :-) you can make a small css file and put it in styles/abse/options/myabse.css or whatever and override the things you want to change. If I just knew about css ;-) simple things are easy, like changing the page background image. an option for less linespacing in darkroom would be great :-) Do a page refresh at http://zukakakina.com/tw3/ and then choose xtratoveil.css. I fixed the graphics. uhmmm ... I can't see any difference hmm, there should be a difference. even the stylesheet name changed (no more hyphen). Yeah, I see that. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place? well, what I changed was that now there's a graphic frame around the contents of the center column. can't remember if that was there before :-P ah, ok details still need fixing, and the site header... and the css menu ;-) But otherwise that theme looks incredibly good! are there any sites you would recommend to learn to make themes? I started that theme conversion a couple of years ago... and never got around to finishing it. hehe But in a way it's good that it got delayed, because the underlying functions, etc. are much nicer now. I sure hope you will finish it! :-) yeah Yeah, I will, and actually the xtrato guy gave me permission to do Tiki versions of all of his free themes. nice ;-) So I'm hoping after this first one, the others will be fairly quick. umm, there are tutorial sites around, at least for HTML layouts. is that "transferable" to Tiki? Yes, once you get an idea of the CSS divs that are used in the page, that you need to specify the styling for. If I create a new theme and then do an SVN up, will that affect the files I added to my own installation? No, they'll be safe if they're new additions and not modifications of existing default files. ah ... but if I modify existing ones and don't change name they will be replaced? hmm, I don't actually run my svn installation much, but I think so. (I do an svn export for a working copy) ok ... bottom line being: keep a backup! :-P yep Hi, I´m new to Tikiwiki (see this post http://tikiwiki.org/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?topics_offset=1&topics_sort_mode=lastPost_desc&forumId=3&comments_parentId=32757) and I am currently looking for something like an interface for cronjobs in tikiwiki because I need to call a function at a specified time is there something like that? Floh1111: for 1 you have http://doc.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=PluginFiles with a param file okay i´ll take a look at this for 3 there is no integrated cron - but we are supposed to be system independant s/but/because but it is easy to do a .php with tiki-setup.php and what you neeed and use a cron if on linux mhh you mean there is no way to do things at a specified time from inside tikiwiki? caralluna, this is an interesting tutorial : http://nettuts.com/working-with-cmss/how-to-theme-any-cms-using-firebug-with-a-wiki-example/ Floh1111: no - so far I know (every such action is related to an access to a certain page....) okay thank you :) thanks chibaguy :-) sylvieg: I doesnt get the Files plugin work right for me. I made a Wikipage and inserted the Plugincode into it and now i get a detailed list of the folders at this page. But i just need a tree view of the folders like in the picture (http://floh1111.de/dev/tikiwiki/screenshots/objectpermissions_1.jpg) at the left side.. can you help me again? ah the explorer part.... yes... suppose it is easy to pick the part of this code and to add the the plugin shall I trie to add a new parameter to the plugin like "treeview y/n" wich makes it possible to get the treeview instead of the detailed view? you can pick up the code related to expanded in tiki-list_file_gallery.php and and add a call the the tpl templates/file_galleries.tpl in the plugins tpl all the code is here ... just to copy it around... mhh where can i find the files related to the plugin? lib/wiki-plugins/wikiplugin_files.php templates/wiki-plugins/wikiplugin_files.tpl or somethinl like that bbl I found it just at the moment you wrote it :D okay i´ll try this now :) thank you ping chibaguy hi rick. ricks99 hi gary. have a feb12 theme q 4 u: how can i make the left column 100% tall (for example, when the center column is much longer than the side column?) Do you mean to have a graphic background or borders or something, when the left column content is shorter than the center column? i just want the fill color in the entire column times like this, i miss tables for example, http://themes.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php and switch to feb12 right, because there's no unhacky way to do that with divs. i want to have the blue fill the *entire* left column (down to the footer) It may be possible to use a background image in a div that contains the left column div. luci did this for tikinewt, for a 1px border, but it wasn't 100% effective... ...as it could be seen above and below the middle section, or something like that. :( There are extreme css methods to make full-height columns, but I'm not sure how well they work. Apparently not too well or we'd see more of them. The simple answer is use a table. bummer yep, css is lacking in that way. In TheNews also, it'd be best to have the vertical border lines go all the way down, but no easy way to do it with divs. maybe just me, but i don't like how the center column "floats" with short left & right cols Personally, I don't think using a table to get the design you want is really so evil. tikiwiki: 03nyloth * r18152 10/branches/3.0/templates/comments.tpl: [FIX] forums: when previewing a post with an attached file, add a warning "Please note that the preview does not keep the attached file which you will have to choose before posting." at least TheNews has boxes/borders to define each text area i just hate to hackup ur beautiful themes ;-) well, do what you need to do. ;-) Anyone figured out how to use/configure alerts in 3.X? I can't find anything that mentions them Does http://doc.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=Alert have any info? not much tells me "alert: push an alert about a change that is being made now " that was the page I looked at before asking here hmmm I thought maybe it would show up somewhere during an edit, but no luck there either do u mean "group" alert (http://doc.tikiwiki.org/Group+Alert) could be the same, not sure but that link is broken hm.. not sure then, sorry np, I appreciate the effort just glad to see I'm not the only one confused....it's always better when someone else is stumped as well it is new in 3.0, so no docs yet i guess yea, I'd be happy to update that page, just can't figure it out for myself tikiwiki: 03jonnybradley * r18153 10/branches/3.0/lib/jquery_tiki/tiki-jquery.js: [MOD] Removing commented (non-functioning) code sylvieg: I dont think that the files plugin is for the purpose i need it... i need title style and backgroundstyle exactly like in the other modules to display it in the left/right menu. I got nothing then are you logged in as admin? this is a b3 install.. upgraded to b4. im logged in as a user in the admin group.. might try logging in as admin itself same. hmm. ill try changing themes. same. Yea, I got nothing really sounds like you're on 2.X yeah its definitely 3.0b4, ive got a 2.x install in another directory.. very much separated. in 2.x there are 4 options in that drop-down list sorry, wish I could help more hmm. I've got 5 view_categorized, view_categories, edit_categorized and admin_categories thanks for trying :) and tiki_p_view_categorized is assigned for This category and all its childre yeah ive only got the view and admin categories. did you change permissions to the admin group or anything? dont think so. The my user in the admin group can see all the categories and things in it as youd expect. spoony78: did you clear your cache? I have cleared it a few times for other reasons tonight.. but havent cleared it since turning on categories. will try that quickly. I just found an old installation of TW I had forgotten all about ... it's version 1.10b1 ... would I be able to upgrade that directlyto 3.0 or should I go through "sub-upgrades"? clearing the cache fixed it :) oh nice thanks :) yw So basically I should clear the cache after changing any options on any admin page everytime really :) (just kidding). maybe I should try that for my staging/approving problems the first thing tikibot should say when you type !help is "Did you clear your cache?" :) hehe caralluna: personally I would go through the upgrade paths.. through 2.x etc then 3.x even start early than 2.x but thats just my unsubstantiated uneducated err on the side of caution guess. spoony78: Yeah, I think so too ... what was the last 1.x release anyway? hmm bit confusing actually see http://doc.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=Upgrade+1.9.x+to+2.x&bl=y "Please note that everywhere where it says version 1.10 in the screenshots, you have to read it as if it said the current branch 2.0 (1.10 was renamed in July 2008 as 2.0)" predates my history with tw. I seem to remember there was a version called Sirius ... was it 1.9.7 maybe ...? Anyone ever use the Stage/Approve wiki feature? I'm starting to think it won't work for what I want havent used it.. is it not working as youd expect? no the permission system for who can approve what seems based on categories when you 'approve' a page, it gets assigned to the "approved" category ah. from what I can tell....whoever can edit the approved category can approve changes so once a page is approved, only a select few can update it which makes no sense, so I must be missing something it may be more meant for approving pages that will be a "public front".. and they dont want the people to edit them directly etc.. but submit pages for approval to be put up. problem is unless it leafs a copy elsewhere then it makes it hard to submit an updated copy for approval in that scenario too. yea your 'staging' users can't update approved pages leafs=leaves (must be tired) out of curiosity.. why have staging/approval though if the user can edit the page afterwards anyway? ChadDa3mon: Just a thought off the top of my head ... could a tracker help here? I want my users to be able to edit pages just want a select group of people to approve them before they go live we have systems at work that have mandatory approval on document areas.. and everytime you edit it those edits/versions need to be reapproved. never used trackers...but this is one of the core things I'd like in my wiki chad: but do you want to allow the people that created them to later on edit them as well? yes and those subsequent edits should get approved so whats to stop them from just going in and editing directly afterwards and messing things up? ahh I'd like it so any time a page is edited by anyone, it has to get approved yeah i getchya now.. thats the way I'd expect it to work.. I want a wiki so anyone can edit things and fix a problem, but I'd also like a review process in place for those who choose to contribute ChadDa3mon: I'm not sure that a tracker would help, I haven't got much experience with it myself ... but I have learned that trackers are incredibly powerful yea, I like Tikwiki a lot, but the way they do categories isn't quite what I want, and the stage/approve process makes no sense to me I know somewhere I heard they were working on a more tradional "workspace" instead of categories tikiwiki: 03nyloth * r18161 10/branches/3.0/ (5 files in 4 dirs): [FIX] calendars: calendars were all hidden by default for new users, which had to guess this and choose the calendars to display.
