@FF|Skyrider: if you enable the "use email as login" tiki enforces unique email per user
I wish to stick with username, rather than email login
in that case, there is nothing in place to require unique email
anyone: status of 3.0?
Hi, i was looking for sometime but i couldnt find any advanced search, like to select categories or tags to search within
you can search within categories on the Category: Browse page.
same with tags
but i need to list the categories first
then search within it
the category browse page lists all cats
i believe you can also search (for wiki pages, anyway) from the List Pages - you can also qualify your search by category
for example, http://tikiwiki.org/tiki-listpages.php
see docs for details
ok i got a bit lost here
pages = wiki pages ?
r u trying to find wiki pages or any site page?
no wiki ofc
but are the categories applied to all pages ? or only to wiki one ?
categories can be applied site-wide. however, the tiki-listpages.php lists only *wiki* pages
if u want to search for *all* objects within a specirfic cateogry, use the category: browse page
cool
what if i want to get wiki pages categories ?
i need also to select categories then wikipages
then use the tiki-list_pages. it lets you limit the view by category
but its not really "advanced search"
like to see all options at one page and select what u need
you got to have a basic knowlage of tiki to know how it works
i do not believe that the tiki search will let you filter by category or tags
thats what i ment
i think its good to have filter
im pretty sure there is already an rfe for it
rfe = request ?
request featear
ok got it
feature*
request for enhancement (i.e., feature request)
ur welcome to vote for it or add a new one
see dev.tikiwiki.org for details
great
i feel its like a backbone of tiki to have something like that
tiki's internal search has always been a weak point :(
although, *vastly* improved in 3.0
the one on the website is 3.0 ?
i think
tikiwiki: 03pingus * r18858 10/mods/trunk/features/aulawiki/ (3 files in 2 dirs): constant _TIKI_P_CREATE_WORKSPACE_RESOUR_CAN_ADD_USERS_ in lib/userslib sets if tiki_p_create_ws_res can add users
tikiwiki: 03pingus * r18859 10/mods/trunk/features/aulawiki/tiki-workspaces_objectpermissions.php: added choice to add perms only to this ws group + included groups, other possibilities still commented
hi everyone, has anyone tried dbreport plugin with tiki 3.0 ?
polom
hi
hi nelson
nkoth3: how's it going ?
luciash: at the translation workshop yesterday, we had 30+ participants. really busy.
luciash: How is 3.0 looking?
will you be around for some hours more today, luciash?
nkoth3: maybe later evening CET, we'll go out for family biking soon
ok. I am just trying to see when there might be enough people around to help test, for release purpose...
but now still some time, cca 45 mins. i'll be here
hi all, how goes the release? ;)
hi!
We had a workshop with 35 people yesterday
It went so-so
35 people, with varying skill levels, and interests
It was a challenge to cater to everyone
And there were bugs in 3.0 which caused slowdowns and issues
luciash: yesterday, for 3.0 we discovered that the login box does not show on IE
In IE, login box doesn't appear in certain themes. That is quite problematic
for strasa it did not
I mean, i know for strasa for sure the login box did not appear
thenews is still default ?
the login button is there, but the boxes can't be seen
IE6 7 8 or all ?
we had ie7 there
(did not test other ie)
Also, when people turned off a feature, it didn't work right away. The trainers (Nelson, LP, Olaf, etc.) had to go from PC to PC to clear cache
wow, 35 people
with a non technical crowd, changing the logo is way too difficult
overall conclusion: even with profiles, many things are way too complicated
marclaporte: can't do anything about the logo in 3.0 I think
is that why you still didn't release ?
unrelated
we were just busy
well, it is only 9.30 am here
okay
just got up :)
it's +6 hours here ;)
tiki 3.0 is better/easier than 2.0
but I think we should fix the IE7 login box before release
which themes ?
strasa for sure
But when you train people, it's a reminder that Tiki for Tiki to grow, the interface has to be even better
There should be basic & advanced mode for most common things (menus, modules, Site Identity, etc)
nkoth3: can you give me a site latest 3.0 SVN with strasa, where the problem appears ?
nkoth3: i can see what i can do about it
demo.tikiwiki.org -> pick one
ex.: http://demo.tikiwiki.org/sara/tiki-index.php
marclaporte: thanks, i just need to be sure it's latest
marclaporte: trying marc/
nah, it's too customized
luciash: what do you mean too customized?
there's the big UN ad banner
try Sara
i have no IE7 here currently so i need some site where i can edit and test in http://ipinfo.info/netrenderer/index.php
ok
ah, yup, i see now, in IE7 the login is on the white background pushed down there
can you give me admin there ?
i registered as luci
actually, I don't have admin password there
I will find another. Hold on.
theoretically it could be fixed by using a CSS hack valid for IE7 only by positioning the login bar some more pixels up there using margin-top: 24px or something
or put it in the css/IE7.css
sorry marc, i gotta leave now... will come later and try to fix
bbl
tks
err, margin-top: -24px ;)
later
sorry, off-topic i know - but, where do i find how to set up a local profiles repo? have been searching profiles.tw.o for ages...
jonnyb: : there is a profile to do that
:))
silly me - found it, thx
jonnyb: will you be around in a few hours?
no, 'fraid i'm off out in a couple of hours & probably back late - sorry
jonnyb: you have mail
coo, ta :)
:-)
So let's discuss revision 18778
hi, marclaporte mentioned to me something abt strasa being better everywhere except ie6...
marclaporte: hmmm, ok - fair point(s) - so should i fix it now (in 3.0)?
can we have a switch?
what's the fix approach...?
Ideal is CSS fix, but if we show thenews.css to IE6 and strasa to the others, perhaps it's less work?
it's just cosmetic problems, right?
yes, just cosmetic
ok. first thing I see is a transparent png logo thing
the logo white covers the "line"
i'd just got stuck on GroupMail anyway as it seems edit page is broken on trnuk for me ;( (possibly rewrite rules thing locally, i hope!)
i'm thinking of some IE6 conditionals in the installer pages for now - less possibility of leakage
well, as I can see, only the logo is the big thing
how to use another logo, e.g. transparent if for ie6?
trans gif?
or we just make the topbar white?
(but the logo cuts down over the "line" as well)
not if there isn't a line ;)
ah right, if it's all white, there is no line, right?
that will work
but
well
is there a way to use a tranparent gif instead for ie6
fair point - i'll check
becaue the profiles are using strasa as well
you mean not in the installer?
i have about an hour (less) so was planning tjust to fix the installer now
that's fair
(the user can arguably change the logo anyway if they install a profile)
ok, gif doesn't look too bad - now some code...
where can we turn on the IE6 transparency thing?
beta4!
MArtinCleaver
get rc2 :-)
hi
ah
well there you go
the topic says "check out 3.0beta"
the channel doesn't seem to want me to change the topic either
Hi nkoth3
ok.
we should be packaging later today, in a few hours
looks like it was already up to date. Upping my laptop copy
basically waiting for luciash to get back.
ok - do you know what the timeline is on that? I'd like to plan my day.
tikiwiki: 03mrjc * r18860 10/branches/3.0/doc/devtools/release.php: added --debug-packaging: run tikirelease.sh with the -x option.
hey, can I rename tikirelease.sh to packagetiki.sh ?
About as likely as pigs flying.
ok. normal, herding cats effort then.
nothing wrong with that
tikiwiki: 03jonnybradley * r18861 10/branches/3.0/ (3 files in 3 dirs): [FIX] Use transparent GIF for installer tiki3 logo on IE6
MartinCleaver: why?
why rename?
let's set it at 4 hours from now.
ok, shall i have a look at this login box issue while i'm in obsolete mode? (in strasa right?)
MartinCleaver, yes, why rename?
jonnyb: sure, if you are not doing anything else
not any more ;)
oh, also - what about this single quotes in img params fix? no one else found this a problem?
because release.php does preparation - such as updating copyright file (so it is not "releasing"), and tikirelease.sh creates zips, and other packages, it also does not release. They both lead to releasing, but neither are, and having two called release is a little confusing.
jonnyb: the single quotes thing?
was there any problem?
MartinCleaver: well, let's not change the file name for now
ok
nkoth3: is 6pm ok?
MartinCleaver: for today's release, we should build the pre3.0 packages first (i.e. without tagging)
ok
this allows us to have packages to check , before really tagging...
basically ... follow the instructions to the letter...
we could delete that last tag, as it was bogus
6 pm is late
can it be earlier?
maybe 5 pm
I can aim for 5 but I can't promise we'll be back prior to 6
I can be available by phone though
that does not help :)
if that's ant help!!
ok, aim for 5, if not 6
:)
ok
thx
btw we were talking EDT (UTC -4) ^^^
sorry nkoth3 - back - the single quotes thing: no it works fine for me but if i'm the only one that's found it needing fixing then maybe it doesn't need to go into 3.0 now (what with the "freeze" and all ;) )
you never know - others may use single quotes too
you already committed it right?
i'm getting even worse weirdness in ie6 - login box & menu all on top of each other
similar problem i guess
yeah, that's a separate problem (not affecting installer right?)
nkoth3: not yet - shall i? (committed to trunk and proposed already)
right - not installer (ie6) - strasa, checking out http://demo.tikiwiki.org/sara/tiki-index.php
thelogin box jumps to the top in IE6 I think, going on top of the menu
yup
This is not the same problem as in IE7, where the login box is in the white area (but covered by it)
nice
jonnyb: would it be better to only strip single quotes arond the src param?
it was the same for all (width height etc not working)
it also begs the question if other similar plugins are affected
what about title?
did you use title?
that's where it is most likely used, in strings with spaces
I wonder how it worked on doc...
title? is that a wiki {img} param?
i think so
certainly alt got double quoted
so it would appear as 'alt text'
but that's why i'm only replacing single quotes at start and end of param value
ok, have a fix for ie6 strasa login box, but still can't make the logo appear - should i commit? (new styles/strasa/ie6.css file - don't like adding new files this late)
a file like that that only executes in ie6 should be fine
that's what i thought - will do
dont understand why the logo's missing though...
jonnyb: lol about the logo
it's in the right place - just invisible...
aha! it appears if you set feature_iepngfix (and is transparent too!)
jonnyb: as for your single quotes fix, something in my gut doesn't like it. I think most people would have not used single quotes for params anyway, and if alt get's rendered as "'alt text'" it's not fatal, right? The wiki help and doc.tw.o both render the syntax with double quotes or no quotes around the src and numeric params. It's almost like maybe it should not have supported single quotes in the first place... or maybe we should do so. I'm just not
tikiwiki: 03jonnybradley * r18862 10/branches/3.0/styles/strasa/ie6.css: [FIX] IE6 #siteloginbar positioning fix
it's just a gut thing, and a "if we have to think so hard about it, maybe we should just not do it" type of thing
nkoth3: likewise (gut feeling), i'll leave it for 3.1 & reconsider
ok, gottagooutnow - good luck with the packaging etc, i'll catch up later when i return
k
thanks

 hi MartinCleaver :-)
;)
any news about tiki 3 release?
still in rc2 mode
waiting for luciash
do you know any plan/schedule to release 3.0?
ah, ok
I'll read the log for today
"today" afaik
I read something about him going on family bike trip...
ah
and nkoth3 requesting for people to test...
so I?ll be around for the next 3 hours or so
I volunteer for testing or whatever else I can manage with my limited skills in order to help for the release...
MartinCleaver: when are you going out?
2pm - going to the Beaches
Beaches... :-)
were are you right now?
ok.
at home - center of Toronto
xavi: maybe you can test lastest 3.0 svn for now
its a lake beach really
we still have one more profile page to create anyway this afternoon
ah, lake beach , ok
nkoth3: ok, I'll do that
url available? (any newer than rc2?)
svn
ok, svn
nkoth3: btw, using ie6 (under linux, ies4linux), I can login to a site with strasa. fyi
using the horizontal login bar in tw.o, for instance
mmm, I've just tried installing tiki3svn using small web presence profile (I think), and I can't see the blog as anonymous...
Moreover, when logged in as admin, I see no login box around anywhere, and the link at the footer still says "login", and not "logout" (what I would expect)....
it seems to me, marclaporte , that the login box is missing at that profile....
is that normal?
profiles.tw.o (using strasa) shows content in right column too narrow (buttons on the right are not shown in my screen). FYI
back from computer hanged

nkoth3 (gone?): tiki3 from svn works fine to me so far: installed one tiki in amultitiki environment, through tiki-install.php. Used small web presence. I added the login/logout ability to the bottom custom code (at the profile)....
I'm just testing now (through installing again) that the change works fine....
wb nkoth3
nkoth3 and marclaporte : I installed bare-bones, and went to install something else through the profile manager (tiki-admin.php?profile)
If I click in the "list" button, I get a long list of profiles, and many of them say " Not functional yet"
from the point of view of the newbie/end users, should it be somehow that the list "by default" (just by clicking on "list") lists only the functional ones???
maybe, just the ones from the category "Full Profile (out of the box & ready to go)"?
^ marclaporte ?
luciash or chibaguy: for months I felt that feb12.css shouldn't have a white bg on the error messages (afair), or the confirm boxes (when trying to dele something, at the confirmation step). Nowadays I see that this confirmation step is inside a box with div.cbox "background-color: #ffffff". I wonder where else this div.cbox is used, but I would suggest to remove the white bg from it, so that, when it's shown on a short message and thus, short page, the grey
I would do that myself, but I'm not sure where else this div.cbox is used in feb12.css, so I just report it here, for your consideration if you read this later
my 2 cents
to reproduce (if needed): install bare-bones profile, then install small web presence profile on top, and attempt to rollback homepage from version 1 to version 0
xavi: I love seeing you report bugs like this
?
oups, I mean, using profiles
ah :-)
marclaporte: I still think that bare-bones doesn't suggest clearly to newbies: "hey, you can keep installing/fine tunning your tiki using profiles"
xavi: : did you try in English?
at least, for the admin, once logged in, and a link to admin profiles
latest branches/3.0 in English has that
no, did it change?
arrgh, I missed that
and my translation to catalan was before then...
I'll check
another thing, marclaporte, I don¡t see how to avoid the border in blog posts using strasa (personal blog profile)
most people used to wordpress, etc., donde have posts surrounded by boxes (i.e.: showin border of their posts...)
but I don't seem to find where is that property for the left and right margin of blog posts in strasa.css
f*ck!
"Tiki is not properly set up:" after installing bare-bones on multitiki
arrrgh, I know what happened....
no worries, not important for this pre-tiki3 release stage
hey, marclaporte, congratulations for this new homepage content in bare-bones!
I hope I have enough time in the following hour or so to translate that into spanish and catalan (I guess you already had that done in French)
xavi: : it's Pascal St-Jean!!
ok, congrats. to Pascal St-Jean then!
marclaporte, do you think that it's possible to add a menupage module with a simple wiki-based module for one of hte default profiles? (like at the collaborative one)?
like the menu we have at wiki-translation, I mean: http://doc.tikiwiki.org/Module+menupage
that would showcase a simple wiki-based menu, which might suit many communities when they start (at least) learning tiki..., without getting lost in the main application menu
Since I heard that you complained that it was not easy (or possible) to add modules from profiles... I ws just wondering)
xavi: : the problem is for profiles that don't need this
I mean for collaborative community
xavi: : yes, sure. Go right ahead!!
In all the collaborative communities where I work/help, we have ended up using this type of menu
+10 !
any example of profile from where to get that type of module assignation from profiles?
all 4 featured profiles have
all of them have modules assigned?
yes
ok, I'll check (after translating homepage)
because barebones has none
ok, ok, thanks
el poder del profiles!!!!
last for now, marclaporte, are you ...
:-) your spanish skills (or mibbit translation skills! LOL )
my Spanish!!!
:-)
from before... are you keen on the look and feel of strasa for blogs?
I got to practice a bit these last few days. We had a UN thing
(did you see my previouspost about it, here on irc)?
URL?
url? no, I installed blog profile, and there I mean
posts are inside boxes... surrounded by borders... like in a box
you would prefer other theme?
but I didn't manage how to get rid of the lateral vertical lines and the bottom line
no, no, strasa is fine, for me.
I mean, that I guess that new users would expect the blog to look like most blogs from wordpress, etc.... i.e., at lteast, that each post doesn't look like in a box with a border...
I will try now
ok, back to translating
myself, I meabn
mean
reading messages log
hi bike-luciash
hey xavi !
ok, have finished reading
:-)
bike trip in country side or city?
well, first i thing it was a bit unfortunate to change the installer look to strasa at this late pre-release state causing these little problems for IE and of course logo with white background worked well in thenews
countryside and back through the city, it was nice round-trip :)
:-)
then this gif for IE6 i don't know, maybe switching feature_iepngfix could work better
I like also biking nice round-trips... :-)
well, enough ranting
tikiwiki: 03xavidp * r18863 10/branches/3.0/lang/ca/language.php: [FIX]HOMEPAGE_CONTENT updated to meet latest english homepage (much better nowadays, imho). Thanks Pascal St-Jean for that
have anybody figured out what to do with the strasa login problem ?
nope, afaik
ok, lets have a look what can we do....
ok, btw, luciash, did yuo se the new homepage content in english, oince admin has logged in?
s/you se/you seen
i'm not sure, maybe just the svn diff
I mean, you might want to update your language.php so that your new admins (newbies) see much better info at their first login in bare-bones install
well, i haven't got time to translate it to czech yet before either
and i think czech user-base is close to zero unfortunatelly nowadays
ah, ok... (yep, too many things...)
but i'll try to translate more between 3.0 and 3.1
oups, sorry to hear that...
tikiwiki: 03xavidp * r18864 10/branches/3.0/lang/ca/language.php: [FIX]Typo
tikiwiki: 03xavidp * r18865 10/branches/3.0/lang/ (ca/custom.php_example es/custom.php_example): [FIX]Usability fix: custom.php_example files added, as in the fr lang, to help admins find out how to add customizations through that file
luciash: i think jonnyb fixed a ie6 strasa login field thing, but ie7 is still hidden behind white..
nkoth3: ok
xavi: weird, just installed bare-bones, deleted templates_c/ and still i see the old HomePage content: http://test.ground.cz/tiki/3.0/tiki-index.php
luciash, did you logout as admin from the previous tiki site?
before installing a new site thre?
ah, it chnages after logging in as admin iirc
yes, now i see it, all right
under this circumstances, I have the same behavior
ok
ok, basic level for anonymous set
changing theme to strasa
tikiwiki: 03xavidp * r18866 10/branches/3.0/lang/ca/language.php: [FIX] some more typos and consistancy changes to strings
tikiwiki: 03xavidp * r18867 10/branches/3.0/lang/es/language.php: [FIX] Homepage_content updated to latest content from English language.php, and some some more strings translated for the latest install process, + a few more things
hmm
starting today or yesterday, I cannot use the quicktag buttons in the default editor.
ScaryFast: : version?
marclaporte: how to I write "parameters: pagemenu=foo" for a module in a profile ?
they appear to click, but the code doesn't appear below. if I go to full-screen they work, and back to regular screen they keep working until I edit another version
2.2
I guess I should be updating :P
marclaporte: http://profiles.tikiwiki.org/Collaborative_Community_Wiki_Menu
http://profiles.tikiwiki.org/Module+Handler&highlight=module -> params
ok, marclaporte, does it matter if IE7 siteloginbar looks simmilar to IE6 ? i have quickfix for that
the problem now is there's set max-width: 650px in strasa for IE7, that's why it goes to second line and "invisible"
will check IE7 now
btw i still have a problem on a new tw30 (just updated) login box title. this login box show a wrong title when i look at wiki page that include plugins. Instead show "Login" for the login title box it show the plugin title. if i remove the "{if !isset($tpl_module_title)} and the {/if}" from mod-login_box.tpl it work fine
http://israelfr.com/new.html/tiki-index.php
advanc
oups
marclaporte: thanks
marclaporte: ok for collaborative community profile to let anons to post comments (with anti-bot captcha)?
marclaporte: if you comment it out it should at least be accessible like in IE6
or pascalstjean? ^
marclaporte: is it good enough ?
luciash : Admin > Groups > Advanced feature -> do we still need this?
sure !
I never liked this feature. I much prefer to include groups
marclaporte: i use it every time, but the usability sucks
why don't you include groups in groups?
also, now, with profiles, we can deploy perms with excellent precision
marclaporte: i use it to install bare-bones, then go there and set all basic perms to Anonymous group, to have quickly base perms needed to view pages, articles, blogs, search, etc.
luciash: : you could do that with a profile
marclaporte: because barebones has no perms
marclaporte: this is easy to have basic perms
just make a profile "basic perms"
on barebones (which is only option form me behind firewall)
ahh
because cant connect to profiles server
here is a possibility: turn your tiki into a profile server. and run profiles on yourself. Just need to copy-paste wiki pages from pr.tw.o to your tiki
yes, but for newbie wouldn't it be easier two clicks to set basic level perms on bare-bones ?
;)
my basic perms are different than yours
it depends on the use case
no way one-size fits all
moreover you can specify your own levels and then quickly assign to special groups... i pretty like that feature and would miss it
ok, if you use it I am happy!
that means UI will get better one day :-)
i have to go unfortunatelly cannot spent more time on the strasa login thing for IE7 than what i proposed
yup yup, on trunk it's on my todo list soon
bye bye :)
I am having trouble getting my IE7 laptop online
marclaporte: I can't get to assign the menu page properly. Could you please have a look here: http://profiles.tikiwiki.org/Collaborative_Community_Wiki_Menu
I installed the profile fine, all settings went in place, etc., the new wiki page created (with the menu content), but the module was not shown
it says, in my localhost where I installed it: parameteres: 0 (where it should say: oparameters: menupage=Menu)
well, getting late here.
Marc, if you like it and know how to fix: http://profiles.tikiwiki.org/Collaborative_Community_menupage
hi MartinCleaver
Hi nkoth3
bed time here. cheers
cya xavi
once we fix this ie7 login box on strasa, I think we can start packaging the pre packages...
I upgrade from 2.2 to 2.3 but the quick tag edit buttons still don't work. 2.4 is next.
strasa is a theme?
yes
ok
so shall I wait? or look at it?
it = the theme
i think we already have a proposed fix
but wondering how it looks
scroll back to 5.20 pm
aha. ok. Isn't there a site that shows you how a site looks on various browsers?
yes.... but i don't know it offhand
http://browsershots.org/
covers pretty much everything out there
MartinCleaver: can you reproduce the login box disappearing under the white area problem, and try out the proposed fix?
Are we making pre-rc2.1 now?
3.0 you mean?
ok - I'll svn up vps7
3.0 rc2.1?
no
3.0 (final)
ok, like 3.0 pre-final?
we don't have decimals in RCs
ah
well, I think it is called pre3.0
that's what you should pass to the script
how many pre-3.0's can you have?
what if you find a problem with it and don't make it final?
the pre parameter basically does the packaging without the tagging
so we can have as many we want - they are like unofficial testing 3.0 packages
y, I'd recommend pre1 or pre2, but not pre-final
?
never call things final
unless you call it 3.0 final-pre1
exactly
no, I am not calling it final
or new
heh :)
newer
the version is 3.0
newest
newest2
final2
and what pre is this?
final-for-real-this-time
:-)
LOL
in all seriousness, the script takes a pre param before the 3.0 to package without tagging
final-really-I-know-we-said-final-but-really-really-this-time
lol
y, so final 3.0 pre and then final 3.0 post-pre
hahahhahhahhahha
so, I've tried this on 2 computers (vista/windows7), 2 browsers (Firefox3/IE7), and upgraded to v2.4 and I still can't click any of the editor buttons for quicktags unless I first go to full-screen editor mode and back to regular editor mode.
anyone have any thoughts?
javascript activated?
they were working fine yesterday
as far as I know. two different computers anyway.
you're scaring me ScaryFast ...
run sec-db to see if some files corrupted. http://doc.tikiwiki.org/Security+Admin#Check_your_files
in 3.0, there is a debug mode: http://profiles.tikiwiki.org/Debug_Mode_Enabled
ScaryFast : : some steps there could help, like clearing your cache tiki-admin_system.php
ScaryFast: is it only on one specifc page you have the problem, or all pages?
all wiki pages
the buttons appear, clicking them does nothing but take focus away from the text area.
if I switch to full-screen they work fine, and then back to regular they work fine
but that first time I click edit, they don't work
marclaporte: http://twitter.com/#search?q=tikiwiki
do you want that tested too? :P
hahahaha
doesm
't look too good on ie5
pff. I'd need xp not w2k for ie7
ok - I found another way to get ie7
the getting started numbers overlap the text - pretty ugly
I just did the sec_db stuff to 2.4
sec-db even
I need to switch theme to strasa?
to see the ie7 bug?
where do I switch theme?
MartinCleaver: : there is a profile "Test all themes"
it will give you theme toggler on top-right
I see 4 profiles - personal blog / company intranet / small org - is the test all themes profile on the Home Page too?
change to list all profiles
no, it's not on home page
franck: : any special message I should look at?
ah, in admin. found it. duh.
got it. thankz
marclaporte: nope, but it is interesting to monitor
I use tweetdeck
super
ok - so I'm using Strasa (the default) and logged in just fine on ie7 (win2003 server)
what else are we waiting for?
hi jonnyb
hi MartinCleaver - all well?
IE7: blog profile: strasa: white bar is chopped (on left)
ah - thx - now I understand
problem still there
why do you need a white bar at all?
why no just shortened the height of the grey ?
ugh, this is driving me nuts. I wish the wysiwyg editor didn't break some stuff so I could just switch
there's no separate ie7.css file? only an ie6 one?
i did a grep for ie7.css, and I think you can put ie7 hacks in an ie7.css just like ie6.css
just based on my grep
on twiki I used to use the http://twiki.org/cgi-bin/view/Codev/InternetExplorerDeveloperToolbar for debugging css
I'd need an ie7 machine onto which I can install stuff to poke around with it though
anyone got a ie7 machine I can remote control for a bit?
tikiwiki: 03marclaporte * r18868 10/branches/3.0/templates/modules/mod-last_blog_posts.tpl:
tikiwiki: [MOD] Changing from time and date to date only for last blog posts module. 1-
tikiwiki: This makes the module have way too much clutter. 2- time is available on
tikiwiki: mouse-over, so it's duplicate info. 3- People typically post less than once per
tikiwiki: day so it's not relevant, and even if it was posts, are in chronological order
tikiwiki: anyway. Blog profile is now good with this.
nkoth3 says it happens on ie8 too - checking now
polom
polom
is there something to test?
:O
jonnyb: MartinCleaver is going at that IE7 + IE8 (half of the problem of IE7 apparently) for strasa
luci's suggestion to remove max-width seemed not to help
do you have any suggestion?
i'll get ie7 running...
on this ie8 machine the tiki logo is above the blue background.
so its quite horrid
i think it may be just the remote desktop acting up
it is a transparent png
Anyone has a "real" machine with ie8?
http://skitch.com/martincleaver/bxsyh/nelson-s-ie8-machine
http://skitch.com/martincleaver/bxsy7/martins-ie7-machine
if it was remote desktop I'd expect firefox on the same machine to have a similar problem (it doesn't)
i could make an ie8 image - it'll take a while
y, likewise I could go and make out a winxp vm for my mac
w2k works so much more nicely than anything since

ricks99: ah windows user arrives
do you have ie8 by the way?
gee not even a second to read the irc history log....
hi ricks99
hi nkoth3 & jonnyb
the height: auto on [id]#header-top has a different effect on FF3 to on IE8
on FF3 it extends it to the correct height, on IE8 it brings it too low
can't tell on ie7 without a debugger
incidentally, ie8 is bundled with the debugger (and probably a toothbrush that does double duty as a toilet brush)
wow! ie8 is quite basket-case (http://skitch.com/martincleaver/bxsyh/nelson-s-ie8-machine)
nice, my forum posts showed up in here.
brb
ok, so disable height: auto on [id]#header-top and change min-height:97px to min-height:108px looks like it might work for ie8
i'm getting something a bit different to http://skitch.com/martincleaver/bxsy7/martins-ie7-machine - i can see user & pw inputs - is there a common test page?
MartinCleaver: try increasing the font size
if I make a ie8.css in strasa/ would it take
Can you post screenshots please jonnyb_
i don't think so
k. what do ya'll want me to look at (win vista + ie 8)?
ricks99: apply one of the 4 basic profiles. Then apply "Test all themes"
http://skitch.com/martincleaver/bxsb5/nelson-s-ie8-machine-with-mrjc-s-fix
and toggle between themes to see major problems with IE8
Page > Text Size > Larger, nkoth3 ?
doesn't make a difference
