well, these problems are under wamp when tiki is set up under the root directory
and i hate windows as well, but currently my linux server's power supply is broken, my new imac hasn't arrived yet so I have to endure the use of my windoze box
'case it works perfectly for me :)
my local svn is in htdocs/TikiWiki/Trunk/ etc., + several other tikis under htdocs/
but your tiki isn't in the c:/wamp/www dir :)
no problem with paths and urls anyway.
why not just put it in a subdirectory, then create an alias directly to it?
good point, and will do... but I'll have to investigate a bit further, because a lot of potential users will want to set it up for an intranet in the root dir of their windows webby server

I thought that using a wiki would be helpful because of the collaboration and ease of updating functionality. I am only going to be here for another year and I after that someone has to update the website and odds are they will have limited website skills

using mysql 4.0 you won't be able to work well with tiki 2.0+
you need mysql 4.1+ for tiki 2.x and tiki 3.x , afaik

xavi, I got it! finally! I made the upgrade copying all old website in local, with database, on my local machine tiki-install.php worked and then after a local successful upgrade I dumped the database and uploaded it to my hoster ! :D

question about 3.0:   When you add an image to a wikipage, is there a way to just select the image from the file gallery?   It seems there is no select image button once you browse the filegals.
I just copy the code in the image gallery, and paste it into my wikipage

I figured out the clicking images to select them within the wysiwyg...it's not very intuitive though.   You click the image icon in the fck editor, click browse to go the the fgals.   Browse to the the fgal that your image is in.  Now the key step:   Click "Browse Images" and then select the image you want by clicking on it.
There is no way to really select the image in the fgal directly...unless there is a way to default showing images instead of icons
.. ask to the devel list - you will have an answer...
