That's basically what I do for theme developing.
I have Tiki installations in parallel to the svn trunk and branches, and export from svn to the installations, or copy changes from the installations to the svn directories.

marclaporte, I just successfully installed a theme (abse) with admin mods. I had it installed earlier, but renamed the files so it wasn't found. then installed. This is in a trunk installation on my wamp laptop.
So admin mods does work.
(or can work, depending on circumstances)

A bunch of sloppy copy and pastes resulted in "index.tpl" references, some of which would cause an error on admin mod installs of themes where the real file is index.php.

on my todo list is: add close icon, make it optional, add check box "Don't show this again", show again only when the content is changed...

About tabs, Jonny said why not do them as a list, like most css tabs in the world?
But I haven't even looked at how the tabs are made now.

Also, is [class].tabactive a hack to give a property to non-IE browsers? If so, we should use this property for .tabactive and put the old .tabactive property in css/ie6.css and ie7.css, I think....

actually, i prefer valid CSS hacks next to the selectors they override so you can easily see what's going on and update both in case...

well, i think it shouldn't be that hard... for layout.css just usage of position: relative and bottom: -1px should be enough if the background of the active tab by default is the same as the border color of the data... other advanced themers can then override in themes

luciash: twiceler is considered an extraordinarily stupid search engine crawler.  It goes through every URL, so it will look at your filegals sorted in every possible way.

luciash: I'm trying to create reasonable rules for it, such as telling it to not follow the indexing options.  But other things are also encountering the odd p= stuff somewhere.
I don't know whether to create a p= rule because I don't know what it does.  Oddly, I think I saw it someplace a while ago.
chibaguy: imagine the tabs inside block element instead with border-bottom: solid 1px color-of-the-tabcontent-border... then you need no z-index for the tabs inside because these position:relative can be shifted 1px on the bottom overflowing their parent border then making the effect of active tab to look the same

What could tiki-mobile.php have done to my site ? I don't understand how turning on a simple feature can kill my site. Maybe I have some other issue.
Does the Mobile feature change the theme or change .tpl files ?

I assume there is a default mobile.php, and accessing other URLs won't invoke it.
At least I think mobile.php is the default.  It's been a while since I configured mine, and that is where it is now.
