I was just wondering about the new behavior in uploading images in doc.tw.o and inserting the wiki syntax for display.... -: xavi is also wondering if somebody will be around this irc channel on a Sunday... xavi: I've uploaded two new images here: http://doc.tikiwiki.org/Tiki3#Trackers:_Exporting_data_improved
but they became kind of floating underneath the following content... :-/
while I intended to keep the syntax as simple as possible
removing the rel=... and thumb=... which didn't work for me (png with transparency is not well handled by resizing by gd, I guess
which adds a fully black scary background to them
well, I'd better send this question to the devel list probably... I guess lindon (or file gallery gurus) might now the answer on what is the syntax expected for those images to display as usual on wiki pages with the new img plugin... CIA-50: tikiwiki: 03sylvieg * r23425 10/branches/4.x/lib/wiki-plugins/wikiplugin_trackerlist.php: [FIX]TRACKERLIST: check sort_mode syntax xavi: sylvieg, thanks for improving trackerlist check for sorting modes! :-)
ok, mail sent to devel list sylvieg: no idea why these imgs are floating...

xavi what is the problem with username with @? xavi: hi , and thanks for checking that issue
sylvieg, should I re-send the email messages with the detailed descritpion of the issue of users with @ ? sylvieg: ah thre is a mail somewhere? on dev or perso? xavi: personal -: sylvieg has a too long list of bugs xavi: :-)
Nov 10th
I have them in front of me sylvieg: ok find it xavi: there are 4 emails
that day sylvieg: hmm I have only one with 2 points(jpgrapg - remove page...)
but did I fix the remove because of the categ perm?
editing categs -> create a perm remove_wiki_page in the upgrade script xavi: subject of 1st email: "action log +wiki history on production site"

subject of second: "Another one or the same? ..."

ok, checked, there is not tiki_p_remove at a category level

hi Gary FF|Skyrider: hi
I Wonder..
Does tikiwiki has the ability to show code in colors?
It's hard to explain, but I am talking about html / c++, etc. .code language. I believe they have different colors if you use the right software (such as notepad++) chibaguy: hi xavi, FF|Skyrider. FF|Skyrider: hi chibaguy: There's a script that renders the colors and somebody was talking about implementing it in tiki, but I don't know what happened about it. xavi: FF|Skyrider: see PluginCode FF|Skyrider: Just saw the list of plugins, thanks :) chibaguy: well, if plugincode already does it, then no problem. xavi: you need to enable also geshi (explained in the doc) chibaguy: ah, ok, that's what I was thinking of. xavi: btw, chibaguy, a question for you, about theme upgrading between tiki 2.x and tiki3.x
I helped a few days ago to upgrade a tiki site of some friends, which had a slightly cusotmized ohia.css theme style
I upgraded their site to tiki 3.3, and did a quick & dirty solution for that day (a couple of days ago): http://www.xarxantoni.net
since I was running out of time that day. I copied their customized ohia.css theme style from the 2.x installation, put it in the 3.3 installation, and added just an import to layout.css (as I could read in a page at themes.tw.o that this was one of the new changes in tiki 3.x)
but I could see a few things not properly displayed for registered: the bigbluebutton not being shown properly on the right but at the bottom of wiki pages, and plugin helpers not workgin properly, etc.
for tpls and theme images, I just copied the files frmo ohia in tiki 3.x (not reusing the ones from the 2.x installation)
so I wonder what else I'm missing at the css file... chibaguy: hm, I need to keep notes, I think. ;-) xavi: I guess I could start re-discovering what changed by comparing the two ohia.css files (if the change is only there) but just in case it was something you already knew and had in mind...
well, I saw a very nice page at themes.tw.o describin changes between 3.x and 4.x , but I couldn't find the similar one for 2.x and 3.x
(maybe just another name, and the search box didn't find it for me) chibaguy: well, firefox/firebug tells me that layout.css can't be found. xavi: can't???
mmm.... chibaguy: correct. it's a 404 error. FF|Skyrider: http://doc.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php
This page has 3 comments
When I open the comments, it works just fine. But when I close it, the page is blinking black.
Any specific reason why it does this? -: xavi is checking xarxantoni.net site chibaguy: so check that layout.css is in place, and be sure the import url is correct in the stylesheet.
I think layout.css should place the help correctly, and maybe fix the other problem. xavi: FF|Skyrider: working fine with firefox 3.5 (on GNU/Linux, if this matters) chibaguy: but in opera, the comment button doesn't work it all.
it just causes the page to jump up til the comment button is at the top margin. xavi: oups.... and FF|Skyrider: which browser are you using? ***: Caarrie is now known as Caarrie|away chibaguy: there are lingering javascript problems in tiki 4.0, it seems.
at least for some browsers. FF|Skyrider: Where can I find a help/doc page of what page commands I can use?
EG: !! chibaguy: you mean besides the edit page's help? ***: coaboa has quit IRC (Remote closed the connection) xavi: FF|Skyrider: search http://doc.tikiwiki.org/Documentation for "Wiki syntax" FF|Skyrider: ty xavi: and/or open the help box in your own tiki

or small question mark icon in the toolbars in Tiki 4.x
FF|Skyrider: read the http://doc.tikiwiki.org/Tiki3 at least once
or the one for Tiki4, if you are using Tiki4
"and FF|Skyrider: which browser are you using?" FF|Skyrider: FireFox xavi: chibaguy: I made a typo two days ago when I attempted to import that layout.css for their site :-/ chibaguy: ah, I hope fixing that will solve the problems. xavi: FF|Skyrider: and OS (for curiosity, since firefox 3.5 works fine for me) FF|Skyrider: W7 xavi: yes, I think so (@chibaguy)
FF|Skyrider: ok, no idea then on why ff is having those issues (it works for me). which version of Firefox? FF|Skyrider: 3.5.5
It shows a black blink just when closing the comment box xavi: 3.5.6pre here. And I see no blink at all FF|Skyrider: if I may ask, how do I create multiple edit lines in a single page? xavi: who knows...
multiple edit lines: I don't understand FF|Skyrider: Yea.. trying to get the correct words. xavi: explain more with simple words, pleasde FF|Skyrider: I guess !! does that
Creating a "box" in the page, that has an edit button in the right when you look at the whole page. xavi: ah, ok, you mean what in wiki world is called "section heit" maybe? chibaguy: !! makes a heading FF|Skyrider: "edit section"
Creating a section :p xavi: s/heit/edit chibaguy: oh, you need to turn on section editing. FF|Skyrider: !! creates a section right? :d
Need to find out how to create a whole line now. chibaguy: well, it creates a heading, but headings determine sections. FF|Skyrider: http://doc.tikiwiki.org/Tutorials?bl=y --> scroll down to "Pages linking to tutorial"
You see that text has an underline going through the whole page. chibaguy: probably a dash syntax needs to be fixed.
what used to make a dash now starts a strike-through. xavi: FF|Skyrider: ok, add this page to your todo reading: http://doc.tikiwiki.org/Tiki2
section edit was introduced in tiki2, and we took some time to describe that there whith a few words and some image
FF|Skyrider: maybe you mean how to make that a heading has an underline linked to it (from the style pint of view). That's defined in your css
s/pint/point FF|Skyrider: ah, oke, thanks :D
Well, I'll install tikiwiki 4.
I guess I'll need to disable email activation xavi: FF|Skyrider: not recommened. You'd better learn in Tiki 3.x
there are still a few bugs in Tiki 4.0, and you may not know how to identify bugs from things you don't know how to use yet
my opinion, of course FF|Skyrider: Why 3?
I find 4 having more features.
Btw.
nvm
I fancy features :p xavi: tiki 3.3 is much more stable right now for a person getting into Tiki. Full stop. Good luck if you go the tiki4.0 way FF|Skyrider: Is 4 that buggy? :S chibaguy: Not a large percentage of bugs in view of how much code/how many features, but some unsolved problems for a live site. xavi: http://dev.tikiwiki.org/Tiki4 chibaguy: if you just want to try things with it, ok, but not recommended yet for mission critical sites. ;-) xavi: chibaguy, typo fixed and everything seems working much better , thanks! :-)
http://www.xarxantoni.net
so, what else might have I missed, in the 2.x to 3.x ohia theme upgrade then? FF|Skyrider: Can't say this is "critical"
Besides..
tw.o is using tikiwiki4 Tikiwiki|bot: Welcome to the official Tikiwiki English Irc channel, tw.o is better known as http://tikiwiki.org or the official website of the project. FF|Skyrider: And is a large site ;) chibaguy: yeah, but in that case it's called "eating our own dogfood". It's a _test_ site.
as well as normal, live site.
it's used because some bugs don't show up until a site scales up large, etc.
If you have a public site but want to see how tiki 4.0 works with it, you can install it separately and use a copy of the database to test with.
(upgrade the copy)
If you don't mind little quirks like what we're seeing at the tw.o site, then go ahead and upgrade your live site now. ;-)

can you doub;le check for me on dev that the toolbars are the default set pls? chibaguy: ok jonnyb: there will be a "reset to defaults" button there if they've been edited
it seems the center text button's syntax is being wiki-parsed there... most odd! chibaguy: yes, the "reset to defaults" button is showing. jonnyb: so the question is has someone configured something weird there, or is it a TRACKER plugin bug.... hmmm
can you give me admin there for a little while, and i'll do some digging... chibaguy: there's a justify-left icon in the toolbar where the break is.
ok jonnyb: if you look at the page source it's trying to put a centered div in the onclick for the center tool, instead of "::text::" chibaguy: sorry, no ceremony, but you're a dev.tw.o admin now. :-) jonnyb: :D
is there usually a ceremony? chibaguy: no -: jonnyb wonders what arcane Tiki-Rituals might be involved jonnyb: oh, shame chibaguy: yeah, I guess it doesn't happen often enough, and probably is not significant enough. :-) jonnyb: i'm just looking at the bug_tracker profile one (tracker form) and that seems fine locally ***: coaboa has joined #tikiwiki

(it also shouldn't break, but that's another story) :) -: jonnyb reads RFC1738 Tiefflieger: so is this a beta issue or is that an issue in the final, too? jonnyb: everywhere i would think
(which beta?) FrankP_german: 4.0 beta 1

I always ask here after searching in there.
Maybe I am not searching well. xavi: sylvieg and luciash: I found a workaround for the description field: add ing a new record for each user with the content of the description in the filed content
ok, macnific: could you please update the documentation after you get the answer?
complete: allows spaces, special characters (such as é è í ñ ç ...) macnific: with pleasure.. In fact I am planning to help with the whole portuguese documentations.
ops.. documentation xavi: English: it doesn't allow such characters

dinner time here, bbl ***: Mark_ has joined #tikiwiki Mark_: hallo ***: Mark_ has quit IRC (Client Quit) macnific: Opss. I found it.. Why it always appear after I ask help here. hehehe
english allows only letters, numbers, space, underscore, dash, period and semicolon (but space, dash, period and semicolon not allowed as either the first or last characters).
latin adds accented characters.
complete allows anything at all but is not guaranteed to be bug-free or secure.
xavi: I will use latin, since in Portuguese we have those accented characters.
Thanks guys. ***: xavi has left CIA-50: tikiwiki: 03jonnybradley * r23442 10/branches/4.x/lib/toolbars/tiki-admin_toolbars.js: [FIX] Better drag and drop to right aligned tools "section" ***: jonnyb has left

However the moving (up and down) scheme is not as practical as it can be, I believe editing directly inside the structure tree with the "space" indenting facility. How to edit the tree directly and then see it converted into the structure itself? ricks99: i think you can only use the 'tree structure' when creating the structure for the first time
subsequent edits must be made with the up/down buttons -: sylvieg hopes to find time to change this for 5 - with the treesorter should be easy.. ricks99: gr8
for admin:modules, too?
