marclaporteIBRRORG : you want to make forms? [03:27]
IBRRORGyeah, i tried using the SMW on MW and it is screwing w/the server end so I wanted to know if I can do the same thing (make forms) in tiki [03:28]

IBRRORGthanx i'll go look at that [03:29]
marclaportealso: http://doc.tikiwiki.org/Semantic
Since you seem interested in Semantic Wiki
[03:29]
IBRRORGit's a long story. i'm not a coder or wiki type. i am a hobo and have a wiki (now shut down due to SMW messing up the server w/a lot of calls to the server) that will simply use a form for someone to fill in the blank and populate a wiki page. ideally, the form will have a google map added.
the semantic forms was the only way i could do that
[03:32]
***nikhilodeon has quit IRC (Read error: 60 (Operation timed out)) [03:39]
marclaporteok
the approach is different in Tiki, but with same result
Do you have Tiki4 installed?
If so, I suggest you apply the Time_Sheet profile.
it's a good example of using forms and putting results in a wiki page
You can rename all fields after to correspond to your needs
Do you want many results in one wiki page
?
Or do you want forms to provide additional fields (structured data) to each wiki page?
because there is also this: http://doc.tikiwiki.org/Pretty+Tracker
I don't know how to do the Google Maps part, but I know some people do it
http://doc.tikiwiki.org/Google+Maps+Tracker+Field
[03:42]

IBRRORGthe ultimate form allows for id, city, state, country, train name, to/from, resources, and a map so i guess that's a lot of data. about three of those fields need a 'textarea' as they call it in MW
Collaborative_Community_4x is listed in the profiles section so maybe i do have tiki4?

weird that it didn't save this setting during the update, and that's also the same problem under 4.0
never mind, my unskilled diagonal reading brain didn't notice step 6 : check that the features you used to use are still turned on ....
[10:55]

otherwise, it's not sustainable, according to my experience
chibaguy, I've just found in the new edu.tw.o (thanks to ohertel) that we can't see the tikipedia theme from mods.tw.o admin interface in Tiki4,, but we can see tikipedia_tiki_3
would it work for tiki4?
and how can we have your upgraded-themes available from the Tiki Mods interface? is it a task from nyloth only?
[11:02]
Beestjexavi : it's nice to put it in the docs, but isn't that kind of like a bug in the installation process that it doesn't retain the old features? [11:05]
xaviBeestje: it was designed to be like this, as far as I remember from discussions/information in the devel list
since structures in Tiki3 became optional (aside of the wiki feature)...
... they had a separate checkbox to enable them....

xavihi RavenC . jonnyb: are you aware of this notice from firefox when attempting to insert bug report at dev.tw.o:
A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete. Script: http://dev.tikiwiki.org/lib/jquery/jquery.js:844
? ^
[13:40]
jonnybno, not seen that (hi xavi ) [13:40]
xaviit doesn't happen always, just frmo time to time
hi jonnyb
[13:41]
jonnyblooks like it's set to no use the minified scripts (odd) [13:41]
xaviI saw it a few days ago. I've reported 4 or 5 bugs already without any issue, and nowadays, I've just seen it again
oh well, I?ve reported the bugs with no problems through the "Report a bug" page (tracker plugin) and not directly through the tracker interface
[13:41]
jonnybi wonder if it's the use autocomplete
s/use/user
[13:43]
xaviand right now the notice showed up when I attempted to insert one from the "Inser new item" tab at http://dev.tikiwiki.org/tracker5
I wonder how this could be... because the field user is not shown through the "report a bug", and it's not shown with autocomplete (afaik) in any text field for user, but just through a dropdown for users
"Assigned to person" is showing a drop down list. Is autocomplete involved in that drop down??

CIA-50tikiwiki: 03jonnybradley * r23503 10/branches/4.x/installer/schema/20091123_upgrade_categperm_2_tiki.php:

tikiwiki: This one assigns tiki_p_modify_object_categories wherever a group had general "edit" perms (modify_tracker_items, edit, edit_article, blog_post etc, but a smaller list than in part 1).
tikiwiki: It also adds the collection of view perms (as seen in part 1) wherever tiki_p_search_categorized was, and then renames the description ("Obsolete tw>=4 ...")
[13:45]
jonnyboh, ok (more brain cells now focussed on xavi ! :) )

[13:46]

[13:49]
xaviRavenC, why not xampp? or easyphp? [13:49]
RavenCnot familiar with either [13:49]
chibaguyRavenC: , I use wampserver (www.wampserver.com). [13:49]
xavisorry RavenC I haven't user those for many years but they used to work well an they seem to be updated from time to time, afaik [13:49]
sylviegThe other time I tried wampserver - I was imopressed it worked with no problem [13:50]
chibaguywas using xampp, but had a problem when tiki's database abstraction changed. maybe fixed now, i don't know. [13:50]
xaviok, follow advice from Gary and sylvieg [13:50]
RavenCkk. Thasnks chibaguy. xavi, I will research those. Thanks for the info. [13:50]
jonnybxavi: i think the tracker thing is probably just too many checkboxes for Fx 3.5 - have you tried it in 3.0? (no help, i know)
on my system it sort of hung for a few seconds, but then loaded without a warning
[13:50]
xavi:-) nope (I don't have ff 3.0) but I'll try with my other browsers, just for curiosity [13:51]
jonnyb(it's nice in Safari ;) ) [13:51]
xavi"your system" might very well be a dueal core (at least) machine? (as recent macbooks? :-) [13:52]
RavenCThink I will try with the updated wamp from wampserver first. I'm thinking my troubles may be related to the older version of MySQL that I am using (5.0.5) . [13:52]
xaviRight now I'm using my desktop (AMD Sempron 2600MHz single core) which is fast enough for (almost) everything [13:53]
***bossle has joined #tikiwiki [13:54]
xavioh well, it seems a ff 3.5.x issue then: Epiphany (based on gecko) didn't show any js notice. It just took like 7-8 seconds to change tab. But chromium took less than 0.5 seconds to change tab!!! [13:55]
jonnybthe silly feature lists checkboxes are probably part of the problem - also the userlist (odd that didn't get changed to an autocomplete - i thought Nelson did that?) [13:57]
xaviok, weirdnesses. Same firefox 3.5 on the same machine now loads the page without notices (5 seconds or so)
for changing the tab

marclaportethis should be a native feature of Tiki
you can create a user tracker, but there is no way (AFAIK) to automatically restrict based on a test (age < 13)

I think all those tests are basically to give the appearance that the web site tries to stop underage users, but in reality how could they work?
"What year were you born?" just filters out people really bad in math, not young people.

xavicoaboa: category transitions might do the trick for you. Check the profile and ask marclaporte if in doubt after that.
in Tiki4 you could have a field in the user tracker where they select categories.
and then, I guess, that you could restrict some pages for those being only in the category ">=18" or whatever

i upgraded to ubuntu karmic koala but had to switch from gnome to xfce because in gnome my external monitor scripts work nomore and mounted disk changed to use device id, so my symlinks got broken, etc.
luckily it still works fine in xfce
