it's a long story.  i'm not a coder or wiki type.  i am  a hobo and have a wiki (now shut down due to SMW messing up the server w/a lot of calls to the server) that will simply use a form for someone to fill in the blank and populate a wiki page.  ideally, the form will have a google map added.

I'm trying to get my file gallery working... I've directed the uploads to /tiki_files/. I've tried putting a tiki_files folder in every directory I can think of from my root directory to my wiki root directory with 777 permissions and I get the same thing every time "Cannot write to this file:/tiki_files/d9006cf1014db1cbccebca82615ca1dd"
What am I doing wrong?
the path you specify in the file gallery admin page isn't relative to the tiki root, it's the full path on the server, as shown on phpinfo.

I recall granting a perm for users so that they can admin the other users in their groups or downwards (but not upgwards in the hierarchy of groups)....
but I can't find that permission any more in Tiki 3.3
the only perms related to admin users that I can see is: tiki_p_admin_users
but this one is granting full perms on all users (even on admin)
I wonder if anybody knows what happened to that feature...

converted from 2.4 to 4.0 yesterday - ldap didn't work anymore and the toc plugin stayed in disabled mode altough it was enabled in the settings
so rolled back today to 2.4 and installed 3.3, now LDAP still works, but I get a blank screen on trying to edit any page.

since structures in Tiki3 became optional (aside of the wiki feature)...
... they had a separate checkbox to enable them....
... and they seemed not to know (or to code) how to autodetect if structures were being used or not...
...so that it seems that they coded that by default structures would be disabled

xavi, tikipedia (tiki 3 files) does work with tiki 4, but with problems. site header template files got reorganized, so the new files are needed. and some style details need updating.
if you know how to improve the migration path from 2.x to 3.x, please do so at the code level, since tiki 3. is the Long Term Support (LTS) branch, and more versions are expected after 3.3

Think I will try with the updated wamp from wampserver first.  I'm thinking my troubles may be related to the older version of MySQL that I am using (5.0.5) .
Right now I'm using my desktop (AMD Sempron 2600MHz single core) which is fast enough for (almost) everything
oh well, it seems a ff 3.5.x issue then: Epiphany (based on gecko) didn't show any js  notice. It just took like 7-8 seconds to change tab. But chromium took less than 0.5 seconds to change tab!!!
the silly feature lists checkboxes are probably part of the problem - also the userlist (odd that didn't get changed to an autocomplete - i thought Nelson did that?)

you can create a user tracker, but there is no way (AFAIK) to automatically restrict based on a test (age < 13)

xavi: thx. I still did not got the complete understanding whats new with permission in 4, which i use now on an upgraded site.
i upgraded to ubuntu karmic koala but had to switch from gnome to xfce because in gnome my external monitor scripts work nomore and mounted disk changed to use device id, so my symlinks got broken, etc.
luckily it still works fine in xfce
i think it is simmilar with tiki, good for fresh new sites but bumpy road (as xavi says) for upgrades
sounds nasty - i just upgraded (Mac) to the 64-bit version, Snow Leopard - quite a lot of rebuilding required
well, laptop was fine, but desktop put up a fight!
better to wait when the road gets fixed in next version (thanks to dogfood and the brave ones who upgaded already)

but i must say lot of things work better in my new ubuntu (same for Tiki)
it's just the little things which people were used to and which worked nicely... it is very probable they will be catched and fixed in 4.1
btw, anyone got PHP db error when assigning some modules that "params must not be empty" or something like that ?

Hello. We plan to implement a sitewide 5 star rating into the tiki_header.tpl and a shoutbox mod which also shouts optionaly to twitter. Just checking if those are not already planed for next version?
Is there a roadmap page which shows "planed" features with a timeline?
