Hi!
People, I have a question (again): is an *easy* (ie, end-user) way of inserting a link to download a file on a wiki page? there is a nice bottom on the editor that lets you insert an image, easily, but for files..... it would be similar, but it isn't there :(

I explain: say you have a file gallery, and upload several files, now want to include one of such files for download on a wiki page, currently, the only method I have found is: go to the gallery, copy the download link, and paste the download link in a "[link|text]" block, optionally removing the http..... part that goes before the tiki-download_file.php?fileId=nn part...
I find this easy (for me), but annoying.... now, for a normal user, it may be the end of the world.....
I see the wiki editor have a button to insert an image from a file gallery, it is easy enough, that same button even includes a listing of *all* files, no just images (which is funny), and then just generates the code for an img object on the wiki page..... I believe that there should be a feature like this one, for "downloading" of files from galleries.
Now.... *the question*: does this feature is implemented on tiki4?
in tiki3.3 , I don't see it.....

coaboa: I don't know what causes that problem. I upgrade branch 4.x regularly on a couple of sites, and haven't had that problem (yet anyway). But I hope you aren't running svn updates on important (need to be stable) web sites.
ildefonso: those are good observations about wiki pages and files.

checked out svn branch 4.0 thought there are only tested updates? In opposit to trunk. that was a question of mine a while ago how to check out lates stable version with security updates. the answer was to checkout the branch version x. I'snt that the case?

If it's an svn snapshot rather than a packaged release, that means code is being committed constantly, right? And there could be something that breaks things.
Seems to me it's basically the same situation in trunk and branch 4.x, except that the branch should be getting less radical changes, but still there'd be some risk since it's 'live' code.

ok.. np just load backup then ;-) so there is no testet-updated svn version incl. security updates? Which means svn is not usable for production sites and one have to update/patche those sites manualy?
Dreamed of having a scriped dumping database + running svn update -security -bugfixes ;-)

I think if you want to have a production site that uses the latest svn, the way to do it would be to have your own test site that you'd check things with first, then if it runs without a problem, copy the files to your live site.

The nature of the commits in branch 4.x and the people doing them probably mean there wouldn't be problems very often, but it's always possible, so to be safe, checking the snapshot out with a test site would be good.

After spending this morning backgrading ;-) I checked users and found that the admin doesnt require validation and ends up disabled after upgrading to svn r23573. Users marked "Need to validate email" will receive an email with validation link. but using tis link say wrong username or password...
So I need to know what to do with users marked "Nedd to validat email"? As I I ignore it it will probably cause the above mentioned problems

i just disabled about 20 wikiplugins hoping it will speed up a bit but it seems the wikipages load even slower :-p
we have serious slowdown issues with trackerlist wikiplugin :(

it is just severeal users and it already makes more than 500 calls of tracker_item_field_value.tpl and more than 650 openings of lib/smarty/libs/internals/core.load_plugins.php and lib/smarty/libs/internals/core.is_secure.php :(

bad thing is i made something wrong that even the page with trackerlists appears loading after more than 15 seconds now :(
the hosting company said tiki uses some 3000 loads of different php files in one shot !

And there are still issus with the (milkyway) theme: FFox3.5: Loginbar wrong position and no input fields. IE6: 1px spare between modboxtitle and borders, same with topbar
IE8 column witdh still messed up when using downloaded version but looks god @ themes.tw.o
So mikyw. @themes.tw.o looks best in IE6 currenty. Thx to your M$ hitting-club ;-)

the topbar filter is basically missing from 4.x, looks like to me.
the checkbox just turns off the menu.
I guess it should be added to tiki-top_bar_begin.tpl and ...end.tpl.

like at the other tikiwiki.org sites.

luciash, it's strange but when I put the {/if} after </div> in tiki-top_bar_end.tpl, I get a parse error.
If i put the if tags both in tiki-top_bar.tpl (which is the wrapper for its parts) rather than in the begin and end tpls, there's no error and it works fine.

the input field is part of the look and feel admin template, so should be there (since tiki 4.0).

Sometimes I find that the custom side header textarea doesn't appear, due to some javascript sluggishness about its checkbox. but the center column content textarea doesn't depend on javascript to be visible.

heh, just now I noticed that custom site header content textarea displays when the checkbox is unchecked, and disappears when the box is checked. Somehow it got reversed (just due to local mouseclicking, i hope).

hello. I am having some trouble with tikiwiki. In a blog, the pages links do not have the offset parameter, thus they always get me to the first post.
