Is there any reason I shouldn't have my TikiWiki root as something like http://wiki.yourwiki.com/TikiWiki ?  Having a lot of trouble getting installation to work.

I have a problem importing data to the sf repository. I use TortoiseSVN and if I try to import the new language.php, I get an error message, saying that the repository is temporarily removed to http://tikiwiki.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/tikiwiki/branches/4.x/lang/de/. But that's exactly what I have typed into the repo-browser.  What have I done wrong ?

Alena: you want to commit that file. subversion is a centralized VCS. if you commit the file, everyone gets your file instead of the previous version, though it's possible to rollback any change if you do a mistake.

is it possible to access/view pictures in a wiki page for anonymous users?

have you checked if you can visit the gallery when not logged in, and you were able to see the images?

no. i *think* someone renamed the diretory or changed the f_gal_directory pref. now none of the donwloads work.
i changed the directory name back and confirmed that the files *do* exist (with hash name) but still cannot download
since the hash is based on date/time index, dont i need to reset *all* the hash names?
does that make sense?
can css be included in tiki pages between <style> tags or does it only work inline?
using "store in file"... upload file #1.. on admin: file change the path.... upload a second file... on admin: file change path back to original.... now try to download file #1 :(

hash is just a random file name to avoid collision

perms ok... looking at the db, in the tik_files table, all the PATH hashes are different.
shouldnt they be identical (if all file are stored in the same folder?)
the HASH field is the md5 filename, right?
the PATH field is the md5 path?

you can easily rename the theme whioch dont work and rename an other to the one u configured as current

this is easier than editing the mysql tables as it might be configured in several tables...

i recently came across tikiwiki and was experimenting with 4.0 when i came across the problem that tiki-categpermissions.php is missing but still linked from the admin categories page

i have tiki 4.0 installed.  it was upgraded from 3.1 (only had maybe three pages on it then).  i get a system error of my sql database has gone away (or close to that) .  i updated it 4 times now and thought that maybe it was because i had satnet, but i am getting a report from NJ (im in TN) that they too have the issue.  if you reload the page it goes away.  where should i report this?
the upgrade was done by a DEV from here so i presume it was done properly---side note to not confuse user error
