ricks99: is there an *easy* way to add a standard "footer" to all tiki-generated emails?
ibrrorg_: tiki 4.0 A2 hosting as server i attempted to load a PDF map into the file gallery and it was no go. is there a thread somewhere i oughta be reading on how to make this work?
<br> it says it saves it (and saves 'something') but there is no map, no image nada
ricks99: "PDF map" do you mean a*.pdf file?
   ibrrorg_: yes sir
ricks99: are you storing files in the database or directory?
ibrrorg_: hmnn, i really don't know. i mean i simply click the upload file and pull it off my computer as a file and upload it that way. they are saved as far as i can tell in a file gallery called US Atlases
ricks99: in your Admin: File Gallery page, do you have 'store in db' or "store in file system" selected?
ibrrorg_: one sec and i will check
<br> sorry satnet slow, going to cable next month---anyway its store in database
ricks99: how big is the PDF? does it exceed your maximum upload size (as defined in your php.ini file)?
ibrrorg_: no, smaller than the size allowed, like maybe 1-2 megabytes it's simply 1 page
chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: I may have fixed http://dev.tikiwiki.org/tiki-view_tracker_item.php?itemId=1762&amp;trackerId=5&amp;show=view&amp;reloff=0&amp;cant=1&amp;status=o&amp;trackerId=5&amp;sort_mode=f_41_desc&amp;filterfield=26&amp;filtervalue[26]=openid with r24299 in trunk
   ricks99: @chealer still ftping.... proposals4x branch is 180+MB!
   chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: no worry, thanks
ricks99: @ibrrorg: do u get a "success" page when the file uploads? or does it "time out" and u get simply a white page?
chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: could you check if that bug fixes when going from trunk pre-r24299 to r24299 ?
ibrrorg_: we're semiretired hobos and what the files are are maps downloaded from US freight train companies if that helps. for temp use we are simply using the maps from wikipedia as they are .png files
   <br> yes i get a success
<br> and it records it as a file in the file gallery
ricks99: @chealer: i'll upgrade to proposals and run an openid xaction
   <br> @ibrrorg: png or pdf?
chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: thanks, but that particular bug would only be fixed in trunk
ibrrorg_: could it be that as i am on satellite internet that i simply am not getting all the data sent back to me? wouldn't be the first time---.pdf is what i am haveing problems with .png saves w/o problem
   ricks99: o trunk! my bad.
chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: so the 4.x upgrade I requested won't help to test this one.
   <br> <u>ricks99</u>: no no...
   <br> <u>ricks99</u>: I do want an updated 4.x
   ricks99: @chaler. k
chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: but I also want to see if this particular bug is fixed in trunk
<br> <u>ricks99</u>: the 4.x is for testing overall OpenID.
   ricks99: k. i have a trunk local. i'll svn up and test
   <br> @ibbrorg: is this a public tiki?
chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: thanks. it would be great if you could test pre and post to be sure that commit fixes it
ibrrorg_: no could that be an issue? i mean if u want to roam around in it i can make u an acct
<br> already have one set up that luciash used to use
ricks99: when you go to the file gallery, you see an entry for the file?
   ibrrorg_: yes sir
<br> no preview for it though like the others
<br> and when i go to embed it nothing but the icon
ricks99: pdf does not have a preview (that im aware of). can you download it (not open in browser) and then open it locally on your pc?
ibrrorg_: yeah, that's what i always do---download from the site to my computer then upload to the tiki
<br> its not really a critical deal; more of a curiosity thing
ricks99: no. i mean. can you dowload the pdf from your tiki file gallery (i.e., save on your pc) then open it?
ibrrorg_: haven't tried that i will and report back
ricks99: @chealer: "Could not create the FileStore directory '/tmp/_php_consumer_test'. Please check the effective permissions." is that my setup issue?
chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: I guess your Apache user doesn't have permission to write to /tmp/, yes :?
   -: ricks99 hates computers....
   ***: SEWilco2 has joined #tikiwiki
ibrrorg_: pdf downloads fine. i use wysiwyg editor and use the insert image function, select the file and in the display it never switches from all the latin gibberish to the image (like images usually do) and when it embeds into a page nothing shows except the icon---file is 884 kb
<br> downloads from my tiki to my computer that is
ricks99: a pdf is not an image
<br> i dont think a pdf has 'preview layer that you can use as an image
ibrrorg_: ah, so what should i be embeding it with if i cannot use the add image button?
   ricks99: 1 sec... brb
SEWilco2: <u>ibrrorg</u>: You say that the PDF downloads fine? You mean when you try to display the page, or before you uploaded it?
ricks99: @ibrrorg. you can create a LINK to the PDF (that users will then click to download)
ibrrorg_: the pdf file is intact on my computer to the site, the site loads it, registers the proper pdf icon, the size, etc. and downloads back to my computer just fine
<br> ah, so similar to how it is on all sites (smacks my head w/hand) that is the only way. sorry! i should've thought of that, duh!
***: Kimberlee has quit IRC (Read error: 110 (Connection timed out))
ibrrorg_: we really love how tiki does about everything and a person gets in that mindset and doesn't think to think logically! so, when does tiki x.x start making the coffee! :-)
SEWilco2: <u>ibrrorg_</u>: And you want a miniature of the PDF to be shown in the TikiWiki page? You'll probably have to make an image, and upload the image... with the image being linked to the PDF to be downloaded.
<br> <u>ibrrorg_</u>: Coffee after you add the Java plugin.
ibrrorg_: ok, thanx! yeah, i can manage that. i was just not thinking that way. i feel pretty dumb, but do thank ya'll for bearing with me! yeah java! we are sending a person from our hobo crew up to ya'lls fest in NY to try and learn all we can as we really do LOVE ur program!
SEWilco2: <u>ibrrorg_</u>: The editor or graphics package obviously recognized the file was of type PDF and showed the icon. The editor and/or graphics package (GD?) might need alteration to emit a PDF thumbnail.
ibrrorg_: can ya recommend a site i might go read up on this kind of stuff?
-: ricks99 confused... does ibrrorg want a *preview* of the pdf or simply an *icon* representing a pdf file?
ibrrorg_: no, i have this little pdf icon that appears in the file gallery which show it as a pdf. when i try to embed the file on a page it shows simply a blank box. i was hoping that i could just embed the pdf map on the page and it would appear in its entirety just like a regular image would. but i can simply create a link to the pdf file and have it open as an adobe pdf file in a new window if need be
   ricks99: ahh... k
   <br> ping chealer
   chealer: pong ricks99
   ricks99: proposals branch: http://twbasics.keycontent.org/proposals4x/tiki-index.php
<br> i successffully created an account via openid
chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: thanks. you created an account on that 4x install?
   ricks99: on proposals/4x did 2 tests...
   <br> 1. created new account
<br> 2. used openid to assicate with an existing tiki account
chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: thanks a lot. (the page renders strangely, login form overflows top)
   ricks99: y. i didn't move my custom tpls/css
chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: did you try a Yahoo! ID?
ricks99: however, i cannot login with my yahoo openid
chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: ok. are you still trying that on your test trunk install?
ricks99: y, will do that just now...
   chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: thanks
ricks99: but should yahoo openid work on proposals4x branch?
   chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: no
ricks99: ah. ok then. working as designed
   <br> :-)
chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: yes. did you get Marc's mail about OpenID?
ricks99: regarding finalization for the bounty? y
chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: yes. he seemed interested in having OpenID auth working on twbasics.keycontent.org as a demo. that's mostly why I wanted to test on your site. he may like to be told if you can't/prefer not to upgrade.
ricks99: let me move my theme/tpl files and do a 5 min test....
<br> idea is to move twbasics --&gt; proposals 4x branch?
chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: well, in fact, the idea is just to get that fix...unfortunately it's only in proposals and the QT is supposed to review a couple of fixes. if you don't wish to move to proposals, please just tell Marc and he'll see if it's worth switching, should be fast-accepted, or if it's just not worth it.
   ricks99: should b no problems...
   <br> look better now? http://twbasics.keycontent.org/proposals4x/
chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: yep, the look is OK now
***: ibrrorg_ has quit IRC ("Page closed")
ricks99: missing images, but they're moving (slowly)...
   <br> brb....
<br> chealer is *amazing* .. yahoo openid works on http://www.keycontent.org/tiki_trunk/tiki-login.php
chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: works for me too. which revision(s) did you try?
ricks99: both work for me. svn trunk and proposals4x
chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: bot which revisions on trunk did you try? are you currently on the latest (24299)?
   ricks99: y. svn'd up about hr ago
   <br> i'll give u an exact in a sec...
chealer: that's OK, it has to be 24299
ricks99: um... how do i tell?
   <br> lowest revision: 2512, highest shown: 24280
chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: and had you tried Yahoo! just before svn up (just to be sure it wasn't already working on trunk)?
   ricks99: correct
   chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: $ svn info
ricks99: tortoise svn pls... im a gui guy
   chealer: oh
<br> sorry, I don't have TortoiseSVN under the hand. I suppose there should be an "information" or similar dialog though
   ricks99: so you would think...
   chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: but you're currently getting "highest shown: 24280" for http://www.keycontent.org/tiki_trunk/ ?
ricks99: nvr mind. my trunk is 24299
   <br> im good
   <br> right-click &gt; show log
<br> y, confirmed. yahoo open id working in trunk 2499
chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: OK. so you're saying you tried Yahoo! OpenID before updating, it failed as your bug report would suggest, and after updating to 24299, it works?
ricks99: openid working in proposals... 24297
   -: ricks99 testing again....
ricks99: correct. y! openid *fails* on 4.0/1. works on trunk 2499
chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: as for me, but had you tried Yahoo! OpenID on *trunk* before 24299 (before you ran an update, on 24298 or previous)?
ricks99: i was not at the latest trunk.
   <br> http://twbasics.keycontent.org is running a post4.0 trunk (before 4.1 release) and Y! fails.
   <br> does that make sense?
chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: that's what I want. I would like to verify that r24299 is the one that fixed it, so I ideally need a test shortly before and after
ricks99: ok i have both "live"....
chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: oh. OK, in that perspective, that's a good test
   ricks99: http://twbasics.keycontent.org is running 4.0+
chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: I just imagined you'd have a fresher trunk, but in fact the code didn't change terribly since 4.0
   ricks99: 01http://www.keycontent.org/tiki_trunk/ is running 24299 trunk
chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: thanks much. I'll consider your bug fixed
   ricks99: indeed
chealer: <u>ricks99</u>: BTW, where do you live?
ricks99: i will respond to marcs email and include the 3 urls with 4.0+, trunk 24299 and proposals for testing purposes
   <br> USA - north carolina
   chealer: cool
   ricks99: day's work done.
   <br> g'night all
   chealer: good night ricks99
