I'm at my whit's end trying and about ready to give up on tiki....  Would someone please tell me what settings/permissions are necessary for a user to have a Categories tab when editing a wiki page?  I saw it there before a made a series of changes.  Now it's gone and I can't figure out how to get it back...

ricks99: i got the forum sorting issue fixed.  All I did was delete the ones that were out of order and created them DUPLICATING the same forum each time.. So, not sure why it broke but the workaround fixed it

What does tiki_p_articles_read_heading do?  I don't see it in doc.tw.o
It must control viewing of the article header (text that comes before the "read more" link).
tho I don't know why it'd have to be controlled separately from the rest of the article.

Edit behavior is working as expected.  Of three members in Group "B", only the one assigned to Group "A" can edit pages in Category "A".  The problem is that when editing the page, or creating new page, user in Group "A" does not even see a Categories tab in edit mode. (Done.)

This is a new site (my first tiki), and I had things organized differently a week back.  At that time I had the tab.  Then I changed something and the tab was there but all check boxes were disabled.  Now the tab is gone entirely.

The member in question (me) is GregH.  There is a Group "GregH" to which only I belong.  Similar for each other member of my club.
The group structure is Anonymous->Registered->Members->Active->Full->GregH
tiki_p_add_object is set for members of "Active" group at global level.

This is why I was asking if the child group can have perms the parent does not.  It's as if "GregH" is denied because it inherits (indirectly) from "Active", even though perms are added to "GregH".  I don't get it ...:-(
if you set permissions per category, the global ones are ignored... only what is there checked that matters (overrides global group perms) ... afaik
you can only reset back to global ones if you want, then the group perms inheritance will work again
I understand that categories override group.  Object overrides category.  Figured it out!!  It's back to tiki_p_modify_object_categories again.  It was removed for category "GregH".  I could still see the tab, but all categories are disabled.  When I added it, they all come back.  As as expected, among the sub-cats for "Modellers", I can only check/uncheck the category "GregH". Excellent!!!

The "green icon" might depend upon the theme you're using.  On theme fluid-index I instead see a little carat symbol in the menu.
