I am unable to see my "editing and plugins" page. when i click on it, it just gives me a blank screen. Any suggestions? >whatis memory_limit 'memory_limit' could be the most frequently asked question about trouble getting blank pages. The PHP memory_limit should be >= 16M (see your php.ini). You can check it with and read more at http://doc.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=Requirements+and+Setup&bl#PHP memory limit is at 2512M ah, wow :) yeah i wanted to make sure memory wasnt the issue can u enable PHP errors on Admin home → General ? let me do that now lol wha? So some users can't log in. err seen also on themes.tikiwiki.org hi all coaboa: Seems to me it was ok when the theme was being developed. The overlap at themes.tw.o may be due to the row of links at the top of the header that pushes down the div that holds the logo, etc. Anyway, I suggest you use the log-in module for now, in a side column, and turn off the site header login form. I'm not sure how soon I can fix that form. coaboa: or you can use link to /login or /tiki-login.php for now luciash: hi; yes, Admin home -> Module has the configuration "Users can configure modules" yohomer: and when they go to tiki-my_tiki.php do they see modules section ? It's strange because you can see at http://zukakakina.com/tiki-index.php (change the theme to Milkyway) that the form is visible in IE8. It's positioned absolutely, so shouldn't move, and there's nothing that has a background that would cover it up. can I display the login modul only if IE or Maxton is detected and @ same time switch of the loginbar? If Y please tell me how ;-) THX in advance luciash: only the admin does could you reproduce it @ themes.tw.o or is it "my" IE 8 Themes also has the problem. luciash: also only in the menu, not in the panel What's in your header (in terms of logo, site title, etc.)? menu responds with "You do not have permission to use this feature" my local inst does have the error and @ zukakakina it looks fine I don't know if it's possible to display a module based on browser, and don't think it's worth the effort to figure it out. Why not just display the module to all browsers? unless also feature_modulecontrols is set by Admin home -> Module tiki_p_configure_modules is what your users group needs then on tiki-admin.php?page=module "Users can configure modules." that should be all to access tiki-user_modules.php (iirc) yes; but in my experience, that's good in theory only, not in practice :( coaboa, sorry but I think you should take the easiest path to get a usable login form for all the site users, which means using the module. So I'lll swicch theme for IE browsers. Hoped that I could avoid that because of consistency. thx. why not just use the login module at the right column? the MANAGEMENT prefered the loginbar. So i have to use it. They discarded the login-mod because of addspace ah, the management. yohomer: it worked last time i checked coaboa: you can use your own custom login form btw just copy and paste the code of the login box in your custom header code coaboa, I'll try to fix that form for ie8, but I can't get to it for at least a week or two. and eventually use {if $user}...{else}...{/if} switch to switch after user logs in to display something else than the login input thats sounds cool. thx yohomer: seems you are right... there must be a bug in the perms check for the user modules (just checked on tw.o) chibagy: is there an "easy" was to use YAML-framework with tikiwiki? I don't know about YAML, except to edit by hand. I'm not really the guy to ask about it. oki just curious Oh, wait, do you mean the markup language, or the column framework? yohomer: or maybe the group containing tiki_p_configure_modules isn't inherited no I mean builder.yaml.de ;-) luciash: I'm trying to discover the status of tiki_p_configure_modules now no, it says it is inherited... must be bug i get the permission denied even as being in Admins group on tw.o ;) on tiki-user_assigned_modules.php unless you enable feature_modulecontrols coaboa, this is the first time I've seen this. looks interesting, but I have no idea bout using with tikiwiki. luciash, what do you think of builder.yaml.de? yohomer: aah, it depends on it ? that shouldn't imho in part, yes. not in theory :) :) theory is always better than reality tiki_p_configure_modules is not defined :( (It's a confusing acronym because it also means YAML: YAML Ain't Markup Language, which is used for tiki's profiles (http://www.yaml.org/) for info on yaml framework see just yaml.de ;-) acronymes may be confusing this could (in my oppinion) used to have a startingpoint or a theme designer. *for coaboa: it's not good beause #col1 should be main (center content) column as far as i know you can switch all that order. I've read the doc and ordering is flexible. Is there a list of (tiki) predefined/available div classes and div id's ah, i see does it require JS to work properly ? coaboa: the license is not compatible with tiki because of what? do not understand that. you can use yaml for free if a link is maintained in the footer. same is required byy many themes delivered with tiki. because when we include something in tiki it must be compatible license with LGPL hey guys which allows commercial use/modifications hi _nemesis_ I have a question, is it possible to use capital letters as modul-title ? Welcome to the official Tikiwiki English Irc channel, Please just ask your question, dont ask to ask, someone will reply if and when they know the answer. Welcome again and please stay awhile Welcome to the official Tikiwiki English Irc channel, Please just ask your question, dont ask to ask, someone will reply if and when they know the answer. Welcome again and please stay awhile coaboa: it is not required by the themes _nemesis_: yes luciash, how ? i tried, but it didn*t work just write them ? hm, maybe i misunderstood the problem :) than doesn't work ok tell us more the title of a module should be "Menü" but tikiwiki setts the tittle ti "menü" coaboa: otherwise it looks good (haven't tested in IE6 though what happens when you resize window to very small screen size) title or name ? _nemesis_: ^ luciash, this one, wich will be displayed in the wiki on top of a module title is what you see, name is what the module is named internally and you don't usually display that ok, title maybe it is by theme ? what theme u have ? tikipedia theme ah My understanding is that yaml requires a backlink if you wan't to use/modify it for free if you don't like that you can urchase a (in my oppinion cheap) license. are all module titles lowercase ? luciash, yes _nemesis_ tikipedia forces seme text to lowercase is it possible to change this setting ? coaboa: yes, but it's not compatible to be included in tiki y not ? _nemesis_: yes hm ? it is just matter of CSS ok, that means, it is possible to unset this setting ? why do think it have to be included with tiki. could be used seperately and ease the design pain a lot. just an idea. look for something like .box-title {text-transform: lowercase} and change that in your tikipedia.css ok, thanks luciash: thanks for your collaboration ... I have to go now, but think I have enough to track it further. coaboa: because if we would going to use it (make it work) we would need to change to this framework and remove *lite framework which we use well, "framework" yohomer: u welcome luciash, ok, i got #page-bar span.button a:visited { text-transform: lowercase; } and #col2 h3.box-title { text-transform: lowercase; } coaboa: we can provide help though how to replace it and integrate in user's Tikis (shouldn't be thhat hard) _nemesis_: yes, the last one it is luciash, ok, only comment the whole out ? yes, that should do the trick :) #col2 h3.box-title { text-transform: lowercase; } */ ok _nemesis_: the module titles were given that property to emulate the mediawiki theme. luciash, do i need to restart something ? changi, sry, I don't understand ok. because it works with *all* browsers equaly well it would be a great help for theme designers (just my oppinion) what would be a great help ? _nemesis_: I mean the reason why the Tikipedia theme's module titles are all lowercase is because that's how the Mediawiki theme does it, which Tikipedia mimics. chibaguy, ok, now i got it ;) But as described, you can remove that rule if you like. hm, i commented it out with # but taht wont work _nemesis_: no luciash, no ? you have to comment it out with /* ... */ coaboa: *lite does the same ok, like: /* #col2 h3.box-title { text-transform: lowercase; } */ coaboa: it's just not that known and well documented... _nemesis_: yes do i have to restart something ? nope, just clear cache maybe hm, it hadn't worked, the titles are still lower-cases tiki-admin_system.php?do=all ok, now it changed ! well :) is it in tikipedia.css ? any ideas what else it miught be, chibaguy ? thanks a lot ok, phew :) hehe ;) thanks ! :-) ok, guys, thanks a lot and cu when i will get the next problem bye luciash: you offered some help with replacing *lite with YAML.de framework. what could be the starting point? starting point would be removing @import(lite/lite.css) in theme css file then following documentation on how to implement it at YAML site they use @import too i guess then modifying either tiki.tpl or the yaml css to match the divs ids and classes names yes they @import other css (eg. print) too... are all css div class/id values set withinj tiki.tpl? the layout ones yes great. will start with that with version 5. For now implement the themeswitch. thanks a lot. Still haven't solved a file galery problem I wrote about earlier - Background: I had two galleries A and B that I later deleted. Then I created gallery C. Now, when uploading a new file, the only objects in the "File Gallery" pulldown are A and B (which have been deleted) but NOT gallery C!! [more...] I've examined the tiki_file_galleries table and only the system gallery and gallery C are listed. did u clear tiki cache? Yes. Cleared the cache. did u clear browser cache? No, but seeing the same thing after reboot and on separate machine. I'll try it anyway. One moment... 100% sure ur tiki is using the correct db? if the table does not have A or B, i don't see how/why Tiki would show them as options Yep. 100% sure. To be 110% sure (yes, I know...) I just created a new wiki page and found it in the tiki_pages table. When I click "List Galleries" I see gallery C in the table. To the left of the table is a collapsable tree. That shows only A and B. Where does this tree get its data? and the file gallery table does not hav A or B, but u still see them in the drop list? That's right. ahh. maybe the tree data is not refreshed. that im not sure about. but on admin: file gallery, when u select your "home" gallery u only see "C"? Wasn't there some discussion about this kind of file gallery problem related to the mysql version? I don't recall if it was in irc or on the dev mailing list. I asked this same question on Sat, and marclaporte asked what MySQL version also. I answered 5.0.87-community, but there was not further reply chibaguy: there was a similar fgal problem discussed on tikiwiki-devel recently in "Re: [Tikiwiki-devel] [Tikiwiki-cvs/svn] SF.net SVN: tikiwiki:[20826] trunk" related to MySQL 4.1, but it's just an upgrade issue. ah, ok. It's tiki 4.1, by the way... luciash: btw there are versions of yaml for drupal & joomla incl. an explanation on license issues. just for your info don't think i can help. sorry I wonder if file gallery ids, etc. are stored somewhere else in the database in addition to tiki_file_galleries table, and it didn't get deleted or overwritten correctly. I've been searching other tables, but not always certain of what I'm seeing. luciash: if curious see: yaml.de/en/community/cms-templates coaboa, what do you think is the advantage of using yaml? tiki_objects holds IDs for file galleries, but the only one listed is my gallery C chibaguy: it works on all browsers, is very lightweighted, supports barrier free and rtl realy flexible. so mainly the modular approach which makes creation/modification of ccs multicolumn screen layouts easier. strugeling always with compatibility issues and using yaml could help there a lot. Or a similar framework if there is something comparable. But I'm not aware of somthingcomparable. I'm curious to see the results with yaml and tikiwiki. I'm not sure how yaml will mesh with the divs, etc. produced by tiki's templates, but it would be interesting to try. tiki_stats refers to object "0?" which is of type "file gallery" four different times. I presume these are four different days, and object "0?" is the system gallery. So, no insight gained here. If yaml can work with other cms's, which produce their own css classes from templates, it should be able to work with tikiwiki too. Chibaguy: If there are yaml-integration projects out for all major cms/groupware solutions it must have some advantages @least ;-) yes, it seems so. im not propagating it just searching for a flexible solution which solves the IE pain in the a....;-) I guess I'm giving up. If anyone has a flash of insight in the near future - please post here: http://tikiwiki.org/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?comments_parentId=36199&topics_offset=1&topics_sort_mode=lastPost_desc&forumId=4 Sure, coaboa. On the other hand, I'm not sure if it's necessary to move to a whole framework to deal with some IE problems. Of course if it has other advantages too, then it might be worthwhile. coaboa: i just wonder why you think Tiki doesn't have it already For Tiki's stylesheets, it might be possible to just look at other solutions for IE and adapt them, if better than the way Tiki handles IE now. coaboa: *lite does basically the same (flexible solution which solves the IE pain, etc.) If it's the higher-level problems like the login form not displaying in MilkyWay, there is probably a simpler solution than starting from zero. chibaguy: the higher-level problems are not matter of the layout framework that's right, luciash. that was my intended meaning. :) except i just read yaml has some rules to solve ie problems. I don't know on what level these are. also i wonder how yaml woul come with non-breakable content in center column or small screen in IE6 s/woul come/would cope/ or switching columns on/off on the fly as we already have or fixed-width themes yep could not find *lite is there a siteurl which i could look @ Oh, goodie. I'm using the "Fluid Index" theme (the only one with distinctive blockquote style), so Amazon ads on some pages are about fluid-related books. :-) (At least that's better than several weeks ago... after my article about red/green discussion feedback cards, I was getting immigration/"green card" ads) @SEWilco2: not sure about amazon ads, but for my Google ads, I can specify *only* to use the content area for content-specific ads ricks99: Good idea. I'll check Amazon tips. just a minor update to tiki.tpl. *g* *torches coaboa: http://www.ohloh.net/p/litecss coaboa: shameless self-promotion :-p luciash: oh you did that? coaboa: just a side note, the "Mostly written in JavaScript" is not true (Ohloh guessing wrong from the demo site) coaboa: it's all pure CSS yep My current experiment http://www.reallysimplechat.org/ has Amazon and AdSense thinking that it's an academic or library site because I wrote about those institutions. luciash: personaly I stumbled about yaml.de/fileadmin/examples/ and browsed through it and get impressed. So maybe *lite covers that too and I'am just sort of birdbrained ;-) coaboa: shame on me that i didn't update or spread out the word about *lite css more ;) coaboa: yaml is better maintained and seems more flexible in terms of deciding which column should be first in code but i really saw it for the first time today so i cannot say more if there are some problems with specific setups etc. maybe later i will look at it Recent Bug: Tracker item: #3017 - - A SheetID is required shown when attempting to edit a sheet with ... - http://dev.tikiwiki.org/tiki-view_tracker_item.php?trackerId=5&itemId=3017 i am on something else now luciash: thanks for your time. just want to help with suggestion not moaning. Back to clearing the cache. I wasn't paying attention to the results. Looking closer, it looks like my action had no effect on the cache. Folder/file permission problem? What level of permission is needed? On a shared server, if that matters. Currently temp=0777, \temp\cache=0775, within \temp\cache I found a file fgals_[long hex number] with 0644. This file seems to have all the old ga tiki usually need 775 on all directories in order to read/write. can u cahnge fgals_* to 0775 sounds like it may be the issue fgals is a file. Also needs 0775? You think for shared server \temp\cache needs to be 0777? I wonder why \temp is 0777 and \temp\cache is 0775. 777 is good too I tried setting \temp\cache to 0777 and running "Clear all Tiki caches" again. That resolved everything. Security issues are not clear to me. Is this safe? well, 777 means that it is fully writeable (to anyone) which does not sound good... 775 is "safer" in that it is writeable only to the app (i think... anyone else chime in who knows *nix perms better) r u on a shared host? yes they may have additional security in place, too fwiw, ive run many sites with 777 and/or 775 and not had issues there is some folder security setting info in the installation and setup docs Can you provide a link, or shall I be less lazy and go search? doc.tikiwiki.org one of the menu options is 'installation' or "setup' or something similar one sec... doc.tikiwiki.org/installation duh ;-) At any rate, I seem to have no choice. The cache does not seem to work without 0777. I wonder how the cached info got there in the first place? There were some problems on the server end, and I suspect that the host admin ran something that reset a bunch of file perms. I'm transistioning a site I created with notepad/MySQL and later an embedded G2 gallery. About the same time the G2 gallery stopped working, and I'm sure that So, I think it was 0777 when I installed and the host admin, directly or indirectly, changed the permission level. 777 will definately work In case I wasn't clear - the old site I created by hand (with exception of the embedded G2) is being abandoned in favor of using tiki.... though not without a lot of growing pains see: doc.tikiwiki.org/install+by+ftp step 4 discussions folder persm That site suggest 0775. Some searching reveals that many hosts don't allow 777. To be safe, I've set the perms backt o 0775. I'll contact my host and see what's going on. I take it (not knowledgeable about this) it has something to do with Apache running as "nobody". Thanks for your time... 777 is necessary if you cannot set group to be the same as webserver mostly apache or www-data if your user shares the same group as the webserver then it's better to set 775 Sorry. Don't really understand that (exact defintion of and relationship betwen user, group, webserver). Maybe I'm in over my head. I don't blame you if you don't want to explain. I'll go Googling. 775 should b fine It doesn't appear so. It appears that "the system" is running as "nobody" and therefore it cannot write to this folder. Maybe it will run OK but just without cached data (slower)? Don't know if there are more critical folders it needs to write to. did u try as 777 Yeah, yeah. That's what fixed it. Cache was cleared after I set to 777. And I only saw the galleries I expected to see. I think my site was moved to another server and the perms got reset. They must have been 777 to begin with. Can't remember. The install may have prompted me to set that on certain folders. Thanks again for your time. At least I finally found the problem. Now it's between me and my host. Speaking of which - they usually aren't very helpful, and I'm thinking of switching. Can anyone recommend a shared host with helpful support staff? well 777 means "everybody who successfully logs in into the same machine" so it's not like anybody on internet can do that so it is relatively "secure" to live with that afaik sorry, i don't know any cause mostly i fugure things myself :-p where would user created modules be stored ?
