stixHow can I disable those smart links like http://mytikiwiki/wikipagename ?
it doesn't work at all
[10:02]
teaserI'm preparing a site for a small organization that uses mailman lists for a lot of communication, I can't extract enough info from http://doc.tikiwiki.org/Mod+mailman to see if it will do what I want: when a user is registered with tiki it should get registered with an appropriate mailing list at mailman (I've seen the forum/email list integration but that is not what I want, since forums/mailingslists enable quite different usages) [10:03]
luciashstix: smart links ? [10:04]
stixluciash, yes I guess they are called that
I tried to rename the .htaccess file and restart apache
tiki still creates the links that way
[10:04]
luciashyou mean autolinks like if you put url in wiki page it wouldn't get converted to link ?
stix: or you mean the sefurls ?
[10:04]
stixIf I make a internal wiki link, it links to http://myurl/wikisite and not http://myurl/tiki-index.php?page=wikisite [10:05]
luciashteaser: sorry, i have never tried to setup that
stix: go to Admin → Features and switch the SEFURLs feature off

stixluciash, it is not checked [10:13]
luciashteaser: pm without knowing the person is not good idea... try forums at tw.o or join the tikiwiki-users mailing list

[10:13]
teaserok, thanks (I also found a plugin repo by going through 'Features#Missing Features->plugins->all plugins) [10:15]
luciashteaser: extra modules you can get at mods.tikiwiki.org but might be outdated as we have almost everything in Tiki already [10:15]
stixluciash, yes they work, but when I create an internal wiki link from the crappy wysiwyg editor, it creates them wrong [10:16]
luciashstix: aah, then there's a bug in that wysiwyg editor [10:17]
stixI think there are many - I don't like it a bit [10:17]

stixluciash, great :) I have this big table, which has to be managed with the wysiwyg-editor, and if I mark some text in a cell, and then click the "Insert internal wiki link" button, I can insert a link but it is not my marked text which becomes the link. It inserts it in the first cell in the table. It is very annoying. [10:22]

nkothwell, the main advantage of ,u stuffis that it's "integrated" with avatar, so when you change your image, the avatar changes too [22:52]
luciashi see [22:53]
nkothI mean basically the avatar is the reduced of the image [22:53]
sylviegperhaps you need to go further for on preference field [22:53]
nkothwhich preference? [22:53]
sylviegthe preference type fields [22:54]
nkothin trackers? [22:54]
sylviegit is handling email password for now
it can perhaps handle avatar
[22:54]
nkothin db you mean [22:54]
sylviegyou can change from a tracker your password and email already [22:55]
nkothhow? [22:55]
sylvieghttp://doc.tikiwiki.org/User+Preference+Field
it is worth to go on this one because user prefs are cached
[22:55]
nkothlooking for the code [23:01]
***MartinCleaver has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 252 seconds) [23:01]
sylviegloking for the code int racker is the painful part.. because of duplication [23:01]
nkoth:) [23:01]
sylviegI am almost ready to get rig of the tiki-view_tracker_item.php code - but need more testing [23:03]
nkothI suppose it could be useful to be able to change user preferences from trackers [23:03]
luciashnkoth: it is already possible, yes, with the preference field type [23:04]
sylviegthe idea is that any user prefs can be changed from the tracker - [23:04]
nkothbut only for password and email [23:04]
sylviegit is cached so it is not expensive [23:04]
luciashnope, for any you choose
iirc
[23:04]
sylviegsylvieg got only people asking for email/password... [23:05]
luciashyou can use country field, etc. the only problem is they don't display as dropdown but simple text filed instead to input [23:06]
nkothluciash: that's what I mean [23:06]
luciashs/filed/field [23:06]
sylviegpreference needs a big make-up - I almost never use the user prefs page because it is never fitting the application needs [23:07]
nkothright, I always have to do custom template [23:07]
luciashyep, and i do custom pretty tracker :) [23:08]
sylviegI think that the preference concept is good - (the custom pref should be finished) and tracker is only to do more .. [23:08]
luciashsylvieg: we need support for file gals in trackers and history of changes not only in mail notifications [23:09]
nkothok, I see lots to do for 6.0.... [23:10]
luciashsylvieg: i got problems corrupting images using tracker field image type
when uploading big pictures
i mean like more than 2MB
[23:10]
nkothcorrupting? [23:11]
luciashyes, it displayed plain text garbage instead of the image uploaded then [23:11]
sylviegcoe was almost ready to sponsor a rewrite of all the attach.. files in fgal - but it did not happen yet [23:11]
luciashover whole tiki layout ;)
sylvieg: yep, i remember we talked about the need of filegal tracker field type
[23:11]
sylviegit is the same problem with wiki attachments ..
sylvieg would like to kil all the duplicated code
[23:13]
nkothI'm sure we'll get there , yes it was going to happen [23:15]
luciashthe paradox is sometimes it saves the day for someone to be able to choose if one feature doesn't work as intended to use the other one (duplicated) in Tiki ;)
but only for that day, of course, it is not futureproof solution ;)
[23:15]
sylviegbut ... fgal integration in wiki img was/is painful
we will do it - I am sure about this..
[23:15]
luciashsylvieg: it is painful as life because that is how tiki evolves - we have no design engineers who will make uml and think it to detail how to implement it [23:17]
sylvieg.. you need magic luciash [23:17]
luciash:)
same as in life ;)
[23:17]
sylviegfor instance I was planning to do a function that gets all the stuff that is needed for an item field in a setting display/input - but I was wrong the function must be global to a list of items ..
but if tracker code was duplicated at the beginning... it would have helped
[23:19]
luciashduplicated ? [23:21]
sylviegI still do not understand why mose duplicated the code... [23:21]
luciashwaas or wasn't you mean ?
you said "if tracker code was duplicated"
[23:22]
sylviegyou have almost but not the same code for wikiplugin_tracker and tiki-vire_tracker
s/vire/view
[23:23]
luciashbtw, is it the same problem with performance having lot of php files included/required versus one big php file (like tikilib) as with lot of http requests for js/css files versus all combined in one file ? [23:24]
sylviegcan be we have a lot of if - else - and not switch
switch does not exist in smarty- apity
[23:25]
luciashi wondred why tikilib is soooo huge file instead of lot of small ones once [23:25]
***kiilo has quit IRC (Quit: Leaving.) [23:25]
luciashthen i thought maybe because of the performance ? [23:26]
nkothit was just because no one think of where to add things [23:26]
sylviegquestion luciash - will you fill bettre in 100 file or one file.. [23:26]
luciashfill ? [23:26]
sylviegfeel [23:26]
luciashfill what ?
ah :)
as coder i would feel better in relatively smaller one
[23:26]
sylviegdid you try lph code? [23:27]
luciasheven though it means checking lot of external files linked [23:27]
sylviegsmall part .. but the intricated.. [23:27]
luciashbut i think best is compromise lot of chunks is not good either [23:28]
***franck has joined #tikiwiki [23:28]
sylviegduplication in whatever style is bad.. [23:28]
luciashin my dreams i would like to see mak 2000 lines of code one file doing everything ;)
s/mak/max
but not tikilib, please :)
[23:28]
sylviegluciash is dreaming [23:29]
luciashtikilib is how many lines ?
9000 ?
[23:29]
sylviegthe new perms stuff lph wrote is .. 30 files.. [23:30]
luciash8863 [23:30]
sylviegif we write the trackers in object style it will be 100 files
perhaps
[23:30]
luciashyeah, that would be crazy [23:31]
sylviegwe have to choose - people develop tw without framework - or need a framework [23:32]
nkothwell, each field type handler whould be one file
perhaps
(it's probably better than the crazy if/else or switch we have for the differentfield type
imo anyway
[23:32]
sylviegI will nkoth to do that - I did for the display - almost.. but the code preparation - need work [23:36]
nkothyes it will [23:38]
***gozer has joined #tikiwiki [23:38]

nkoth(I was thinking of simply querying the action log for this) [23:39]
sylviegactionlog [23:39]
nkothok, I write a plugin that query the actionlog [23:39]

why he cannot see we use xhtml and not html 4.x ?

luciashluciash wonders what does this say: trunk → [ Execution time: 3.98 secs ] [ Memory usage: 12.50MB ] [ 48 database queries used in 0.1 secs ]
proposed 4.x → [ Execution time: 2.08 secs ] [ Memory usage: 11.35MB ] [ 329 database queries used in 0.2 secs ]
it has 8 times more queries but still it renders faster and consumes less memory ?
[23:51]
nkothonly explanation i can think of is that "some" query is slower in trunk than in 4.x
luciash: you familar with doing this? http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/slow-query-log.html
[23:53]
luciashnkoth: nope, i only know how to use tiki's SQL log for slow querie
s
[23:54]
nkothtiki's sql log, where would that be? [23:55]
luciash(btw, the bottom bar debug info was taken from Look and Feel page)
nkoth: it is under tiki logs
tiki-syslog.php
then tiki-sqllog.php
the button link above
[23:55]
nkothtrying... This feature is disabled: adodb hmm [23:57]
luciashyou have to enable it first on Admin → Performance
aaah, it seems it is only for adodb :(
anyway, to enable it you have to go to the Admin → Performance first
[23:57]
nkotheys, i see it , thanks [23:59]
