jonnyb: right column? oh, i thought we were talking left column
and for me it only seems to disappear on admin/features
in sarafi/chrome
also safari ;)
what's up for you?
luciash: right column is always "hidden" in Firefox
it's fine for me

luciash: weird
are you logged in ?
jonnyb: ah, no - 1 min...
luciash: you are right, FF 3.5.9 seems fine
jonnyb: do you mean the problem where you hide the right col, and then reload the page and it shows a blank col?
that's been there for ages
luciash: must be my Flock (dunno what FF version it is based on actually)
jonnyb: i couldn't work out how to fix it (spent a couple of hours - gave in)
luciash: sorry for false alert
no i mean it happens immediately
jonnyb: once you click the show/hide again, and it appears it's ok, right?
luciash: in my Flock 2.5.6
ah, it is based on FF 3.0.16
jonnyb: basically i couldn't fix it without changing lite.css (and that way lies madness! :) )
luciash: mybe it is FF 3.0.x problem only
jonnyb: what's the prob?
(again... sorry)
luciash: the prob is the content of the right column is not displayed until i hide and show the right column again using the show/hide icon
jonnyb: first time you go to a site? or after you hide it?
luciash: also i have horizontal scrollbar down there with pretty huge gap to right
first time i go to any page on the site
jonnyb: the cookie is per site - it won't happen unless you hide it first, i believe
luciash: maybe you need a screencast :)
(i am using yuuguu.com to share my screen if you want)
or we can dogfood BBB ;)
jonnyb: no, it sounds like what i'm talking about - any browser i think - hide right hand col, reload page - right hand margin is there, but no column
have to do other stuff, sorry
luciash: sure, yes, it sounds like that.... maybe i have hidden it first time and now it does by default page load too
i have just figured out it does for me in Firefox 3.0 only (and Flock is based on it) so it doesn't seem to be a big problem anyway
i presume most people use 3.5.x or 3.6 nowadays
must be some bug in FF 3.0.x
and it does no matter if you're logged in or not
FF 3.5 and FF 3.6 or any other browser is fine for me
jonnyb: it is slightly different problem than what you describe i think but very close
jonnyb: anyway, as i said, not a big deal, don't worry about it i think
jonnyb: sounds like it must be related - not happening with left col, yes?

luciash: hola xavi
xavi: I?ve just upgraded http://intercanvis.net to 5.0rc1, and I see a few issues....
hi luci :-)
one of the issues is "theme"-related :-) in articles fature (using a modified thenews theme )
jonnyb: hi xavi
xavi: when posting a new article, the horizontal bar with menu is not shown ( http://intercanvis.net/tiki-edit_submission.php )
hi jonny
that problem was also in 4.2, btw
same problem with "items list" field type, which seems not to work with 5.0rc1 (it didn't with 4.2 either, but did work in previous versions, afaik)
and some of the new issues: external rss feeds stopped displaying (they seemed to work well in 4.2)
sylvieg ? is "items list" tracker field type working for you in tiki5 ?
luciash: my custom site header at intercanvis.net is:
<div style="float:none"><a href="index.php"><img src="show_image.php?id=35" width="300" ><img src="show_image.php?id=37" width="100"></a></div>
could this produce some interference with edit submission???
so that the horizontal bar & menu dissapear then ?
luciash: xavi: try valid xhtml
xavi: "valid xhtml" ?
also the position of the logo, is different from where it was in 4.2 with the same code
luciash: xavi: <div style="float:none"><a href="index.php"><img src="show_image.php?id=35" width="300" /><img src="show_image.php?id=37" width="100" /></a></div>
xavi: mmm, and why did it work fine in 4.2, then?
luciash: no idea, i just want to make sure it is not that first
xavi: if something chagned in tiki (for better, I guess), that should be warned in the release notes, and/or doc.tw.o/Tiki5 page, etc.
ah,. ok, I'll try that right now
luciash: always try to have valid xhtml to prevent unwanted renderings
xavi: but i think it will be something else related with the tpls of article submission maybe
yonixxxxx: i need to change my header content depending on the language. i tried
{if $language eq "en"}....{else}...{/if}
luciash: xavi: iirc the articles were pretty much re-coded in 5
yonixxxxx: didn;t work... may be there is no $language ? :)
luciash: yonixxxxx: try $lang
xavi: mmm, luci, but that behavior is the same as in tiki4.2
well, tiki 4.x
moreover, my left column is set as never shown by the admin, and when in edit submission, the left column is displayed
(it happened in 4.x, and also in 5.0rc1)
yonixxxxx: luciash... same :(
luciash: xavi: you mean the article edit submissions tpls were not touched from 4.x to 5.x ?
xavi: I don't know (I didn't look at svn), just realized that same behavior when in tiki interface
luciash: hmm, you mean same broken ?
xavi: still fine tunning the tiki site after upgrade
yes, same broken/wrong layout
luciash: ah, ok
xavi: and logo in site header is not aligned to the left any more.... I wonder why
luciash: xavi: if you want me to look at it send me the list of issues in mail pls
xavi: ok, thanks, luci. Don't worry, I'll try to investigate a little myself (to see if I can fix it myself, and I learn what changed). Otehrwise, I'll send an email requesting help :-)
and external rss feeds: I wonder if are they working fine for other people in 5.0rc1
I prefer first to ask/comment them here in irc, to find out if those are known issues already, etc.

xavi: so maybe the problem I had was some (hidden) issue with the installer (tiki-install.php)...
and fixed with the manual upgrade of db
in my case, through sh doc/devtools/sqlupgrade.sh since it is a multitiki
anyway, fyi... ^

xavi: changi, external feeds work for me (even in 5.0rc1). The problem seemed to be with tiki not showing the feeds after the upgrade, and the "refresh" button for external feeds doing nothing. Once they naturally refresh (according to their configuration), they seem to show as expected also
phew....

xavi: hi Olaf :-) ( omstefanov ) My problem was that I can't change site language frmo English to anotehr language just after the upgrade from 4.2 to 5.0rc1

luciash: can you please enable rss feeds for wiki pages on Admin > Admin Home > Feeds and test ?
xavi: I guess that we'll need some pagination, or filtering, of something...

jonnyb: which version TonyOlivero ?
TonyOlivero: 4.2
jonnyb: odd, i'll check here
TonyOlivero: This tracker has been giving me odd behavior anyway. I'm not really sure what's happening.
jonnyb: trackers can get a life of their own sometimes (it seems)
seems fine for me - which browser?
TonyOlivero: IE.
jonnyb: do you have another handy?
TonyOlivero: It was also not showing fields when I tried inserting items aas a user with category perms in the tracker's category
sure. i'll try in FF.
jonnyb: safari or chrome are fastest
FF will work, takes a while to load tho
TonyOlivero: Neither one works well with my screenreader.
