hey people. Tikiwiki 4.2: Is there a way to grant access to a forum only for a few selected users? I know this is done with groups, but I don't want that other users can see that there is a special group they do not belong too. 
So either user-permission for a certain forum or a hidden group. Anything available? (You may guess right, that this is some kind of secret police for a website community where even the "Insiders" get controlled)
there's no "user-permission" but u can do this with groups
just dont let "group a" list the forum title that is private

Ah, I know what is the right question! Are other uses in tikiwiki able to see which group a user belongs to?

ricks99: I'm new to tikiwiki. I expected there would be user-information pages like on other bulletinboard software or social networks. the usual stuff like birthday, icq number, postcount... and group memberships.
But if there is no place a normal registered member can view group memberships I have what I want.

hi jonnyb. I talked to Opossum (TikiFestQuebec hosters) yesterday and they're migrating a Tiki 2 WYSIWYG to a Tiki 4 in classic edit mode.
jonnyb: they're concerned about the classic edit mode's usability; many small issues. for example, the internal link "quicktag" has issues.
better go for 5 now, surely?
jonnyb: I looked a bit and noticed toolbarslib has code to parse a selected external link and prefill the external link popup's field, since Tiki 4. but that seems to work rarely.
don't want to spend any more time on 4 - should be one more release the SEC fixes only, imho
or to be broken in Firefox, perhaps (on all version I tried, from 4.2 to trunk)

jonnyb: because the step by step debugging goes there. but when Firebug is on that line, e, which is supposed to contain the exception, is not defined. so I'm wondering if this is a Firebug bug or if I'm missing something.
it would help a lot to debug if I got the exception message, if there is one.
in firebug you can get it to break on any exception
(also, rather coolly, on any DOM change)

Is there a convention to put in an admin settings page .... feature not enabled - for instance if feature_wysiwyg is not on, The admin.php>page=wysiwyg - do not tell me that th efeature is not on

I think it's a good idea to put a feature checkbox on those pages. It always annoyed me to need to go to several places.

It has been fixed . In 4.x if you insert a wiki page link and go back anfdforth the source button it adds another ((toto)) eqch time

So if you change any of the above information in LDAP, the data are synchronized the next time the user logs into tiki. You can even change group membership in LDAP and it gets sychronized to tiki. What is not replicated to tiki are object (usr/group) deletions.
