luciash: <u>ttrimm</u>: about the theme it is one unpack/upload thing if you unpack the theme including the folders it contains "over" your tiki installation. it means if your tiki is in public_html/ you have to unpack it there, if it is in public_html/wiki/, you put the files in wiki/ and they will be copied over into the right subdirs (styles/, templates/, etc.)
ttrimm: I wasn't sure about that.
<br> So, I could install them straight into the root folder and they will go right?
luciash: i understand, it is not clearly said maybe
<br> yep, the files will settle in the right path if it is the same folder name
<br> only if there were files of the same name it would ask you if you want them to overwrite
<br> (folders usually don't ask for confirmation to overwrite if they already exist, they're just place holders)
ttrimm: Ok. will try that with a second theme and see what happens.
   <br> thank you.
luciash: np. if the theme is prepared well and has the right dirs structure in the package it should work :)

   <br> if ($tiki_p_edit_structures != 'y' || !$tikilib-&gt;user_has_perm_on_object($user,$structure_info["pageName"],'wiki page','tiki_p_edit')) {
<br> my question is: do this part:
   <br> $structure_info["pageName"],'wiki page','tiki_p_edit_structures')
<br> mean, the permission on the homepage of the structure, and not just the page where the users is adding the new page after?
   sylvieg: ok the fix should be if (!$tikilib-&gt;user_has_perm_on_object($user,$structure_info["pageName"],'wiki page','tiki_p_edit_structures') ) || !$tikilib-&gt;user_has_perm_on_object($user,$structure_info["pageName"],'wiki page','tiki_p_edit')) {

<br> properly set in the home of that structure and granted to all child
<br> pages (in theory) from there. "
<br> so a registered user without the global perm to edit structures, but a local perm to edit a structure, can't add pages to that structure, but it should
<br> with my fix, it works
<br> but since I don't fully understand the syntax of that php bit that I added....
<br> It was just copy &amp; paste from other parts of the code, with some guessing....
luciash: <u>xavi</u>: i think your guess is right :)
-: xavi is happy! php-guessing sometimes is not that hard :-)
xavi: php coding from scratch is miles harder :-) still another dimension to me
luciash: i am not sure about the OR part yet
xavi: yes, you also need the perm to edit pages in that structure
sylvieg: I do not understand why you need a tiki_p_edit to change the structure
   <br> the fix IMHO must be if (!$tikilib-&gt;user_has_perm_on_object($user,$structure_info["pageName"],'wiki page','tiki_p_edit_structures') ) {
<br> never test the global perm only the local one
   luciash: <u>sylvieg</u>: ???

luciash: test if global first, then if not test local
   sylvieg: if he needs both the syntax is if (!$tikilib-&gt;user_has_perm_on_object($user,$structure_info["pageName"],'wiki page','tiki_p_edit_structures') ) || !$tikilib-&gt;user_has_perm_on_object($user,$structure_info["pageName"],'wiki page','tiki_p_edit')) {

luciash: <u>xavi</u>: imho it should be like this → http://pastebin.com/wyWVAyHS
<br> <u>xavi</u>: but i am not sure why as you had it an object perm would need tiki_p_edit too and global one not ?
xavi: it doesn't need global as not granted. It was set like this in intercanvis.net
<br> I mean, initially, no edi_structures perms to anyone. then I changed my mind for registered users on that structure
   luciash: "as not granted" ?
xavi: tiki_edit_structures is not granted globally for registered users on intercanvis.net
   <br> tiki_p_edit_structures , I mean
<br> it's granted to one structure ("Mercats") locally through the homepage of that structure
   luciash: hmm
<br> but for other use cases than intercanvis ? you mean it doesn't need check global tiki_p_edit ?
xavi: so your fix wouldn't work in intercanvis.net right now
luciash: <u>xavi</u>: are you sure ? did you try it ?
xavi: no, I mean that we need to check for all cases: (1) "globally yes and locally yes" and (2) "globally no and locally yes"
<br> in both cases, user would be able to add a new page to that structure
luciash: because if i am not wrong i check if global tiki_p_edit_structures OR local ... + local edit perms
xavi: yes, you check OR but for denying access
<br> so if $tiki_p_edit_structures != 'y' the user would not be allowed to add a page to the structure, even if granted locally
   ***: yoni has joined #tikiwiki
luciash: but by default in tiki it is like that everywhere... if you don't want users to be able to edit a structure, don't give them global tiki_p_edit_structure but object or category perm only
<br> ah, right, i see what you mean now
xavi: luciash, yes, but it is buggy in tiki5. you can't do that right now from the header of pages in a tiki structure
-: xavi trying a new fix in localhost
xavi: thanks for feedback, luciash and sylveg, nowadays I know how I can fix it....
   <br> it's a question of time :-)
<br> but I know that the syntax is right to check for local perms on the structure
<br> oh well, no, I don't know yet the right syntax... let me explain:
<br> the check is for denying access. so for denying: (1) "globally yes and locally no tiki_p_edit_structures but some other local perm persent" or (2) "globally no and locally no"
<br> now I know how to say (2) "globally no and locally no"
<br> but I don't know how to say: (1) "globally yes and locally no tiki_p_edit_structures but some other local perm persent"
<br> sylvieg or luciash, that's my doubt now
<br> lunch &amp; walk the dog time here, bbl
luciash: <u>xavi</u>: i think this should do the trick → http://pastebin.com/6ZWXWwZ0
<br> maybe the second &amp;&amp; should be || instead as i review it now
   <br> <u>xavi</u>: pls try this → http://pastebin.com/7za5DvY9
   xavi: back
<br> thanks luciash, I'll try right now
luciash: the confusion with local object perms is that they're different than global perms... they're just there (assigned) or they're not... it's not like = "y" or = "n"
-: sylvieg wondering why you need the p_edit_structure on the local page
   sylvieg: just on the structure_info['pageName']
   <br> you need on the structure_info['pageName'] a tiki_p_edit_structure and a tiki+p_edit
luciash: <u>sylvieg</u>: because it used to be that you could add a page to structure from within another page in the structure
   <br> iirc
<br> i am not sure though
<br> what exact part xavi de-regressions
   ***: Ma has left
xavi: sylvieg, when I said locally, I mean not locally on the page but locally on the structure
<br> luciash, you fix is better, but still won't work for the case when tiki_p_edit_structures is granted globally (to registered group, for isntance), but some local perms are granted to that local structure, and registered users don't have the local perm to edit the structure.
<br> I'm attempting to allow registered users to add new pages to structures from the header of previous pagaes in the same structure
<br> the problem arose when some upgrade script (as far as I remember) removed the global tiki_p_edit_structures , and only local perms in a structure was kep to allow registered users to edit that structure
luciash: <u>xavi</u>: if tiki_p_edit_structures are granted globally then everybody can edit any structure and you can't override it with local object perms
xavi: <u>luci</u>: override locally: why not?
luciash: you have to remove the global perms first
   <br> imho
xavi: <u>luciash</u>: this is different from other objects in tiki, afaik, then
   luciash: reset
<br> or i am not sure how this could work
<br> maybe it's just late afternoon, but i have already my third mug of coffee i promise ;)
xavi: "how this could work", Can't you do that with any other object? global perm is not set but just local perm is set, and it works for those users with that local perm granted?
luciash: hmm, then it must be local perms have y|n state ?
<br> so you need to check that maybe ?
xavi: well, missing local perms means "n" if other local perms are set.
<br> that's the behavior in tiki since the early ages
   <br> afaik
luciash: and how do you check "if other local perms are set" in the condition ?
   xavi: that's my question! :-)
