I am not sure if this is a right place to ask
but, here we go. Is there any way to restrict new account creation only to users from certain domains ?
like, can I set tiki so that only users having emails from gmail.com can register ?
can't find how to get by this from documentation

akI have asked a question five minutes ago - nothing yet, so I guess you will have to wait as well [04:03]
jcyrisseor how exactly do i accomplish this? i have probably 800 images
sure....i will check the logs to see if anyone is able to give some direction. i dont have all of the original files which were uploaded, as many were uploaded contributions.
[04:03]
akperhaps, you will have to wait forever, as all these people on the right are latent for 5+ minutes :)
as for the images, I've no idea

chibaguyak: I don't know of any way to restrict new accounts like that. If you've looked at the admin page for user registrations, you know what the options are.
Unless you activate "needs admin approval" or however it's worded, then you can ok manually.
[04:33]
akthanks chibaguy :)
you can do so if you look into lib/registration/registrationlib.php
you can add some stuff there so it does that
[04:35]

TorstenFabriciusso everything I get solved with or without help, I put straight into the documentation, if itīs missing there [18:08]
chealerxavi: did you identify which commit changed the behavior? [18:09]
TorstenFabriciuschealer whom to tell? if you do not know, Iīll look in the community pages [18:09]
xavichealer, yes, svn blame reported it [18:09]
chealerTorstenFabricius: well, do you have a TIki 5 install? [18:09]
xaviI can search for that again (it wa lph in dec 2009) [18:09]
chealerxavi: what was the commit number?
OK
[18:09]
xavixavi requesting again that svn blame... [18:10]
TorstenFabriciuschealer well, I work with some 3.5s and one 4.2 [18:10]
xavir22796 [18:10]
***TorstenFabricius is now known as Torsten|afk [18:10]
Torsten|afkTorsten|afk will brb [18:10]
chealerTorstenFabricius: OK. it would be nice if someone could test whether plugin wantedpages works on Tiki 5 by default and if not, verify if this is a regression. [18:11]
pmorenogarciai'm reading the 3 rules [18:11]
xaviok, fine [18:12]
chealerxavi: what part of that commit is problematic? which file?
rodrigo_sampaio: why is it better to extend tikidb_bridge rather than tikilib?
[18:12]
xavichealer: see this: http://pastebin.com/diff.php?i=u6ankPKy [18:12]
chealerxavi: but where is that code? [18:13]
xavifrom irc log: (19:42:08) xavi: it's from line 93 to 103 from lib/notifications/notificationemaillib.php in branch 5.x [18:14]
chealerxavi: but r22796 doesn't touch notificationemaillib [18:15]
xavipmorenogarcia: ask any question if you have any doubt [18:15]
pmorenogarciaok, I read and understand the 3 basic rules [18:15]
xavichealer, then, it means that I don't understand the output form svn blame, I guess.....
pmorenogarcia: ok, great.
you know they are the 3 simple rules that we all follow in tiki community regarding code changes
[18:16]
chealerxavi: my bad, I was looking at r22786 (also by lphuberdeau!) [18:17]
xaviand next question, and more important is:
pmorenogarcia: what's your sourceforge.net username?
pmorenogarcia: if you don't have an account in sf.net, no problem, you can make one at any time :-)
the fact is that since we host tiki code in sourceforge svn repositories, you need a sf.net username to commit changes there :-)
[18:17]
chealerpmorenogarcia: the change would fix the problem, though it's not very clean (it would be cleaner to just revert r22786) [18:19]
pmorenogarciaI have not an account in sf.net, but I will have one in some minutes [18:20]
ricks99ricks99 keenly watches the ceremony.... taking notes to update http://twessentials.keycontent.org/Getting+Committed as needed [18:20]
xaviok, great, pmorenogarcia
chealer: I disagree. that commit frmo lph added the option to receive notification messages in your own language, and not in the editor's languae
xavi tidies up the hat for the picture taken by ricks99....
[18:20]
chealerxavi: r22796 added the option to receive notification messages in your own language, and not in the editor's language? [18:22]
xavior thatÂĄ's what I understand from lph's code
but you know, my php skills are **very** limited
[18:23]
chealerxavi: I don't see that in this commit.
xavi: and the commit message doesn't claim such a change
[18:23]
pmorenogarciaxavi: my sf.net username is pmorenogarcia [18:24]
xavipmorenogarcia: ok, great...
chealer: see line 98 onwards (that if clause)
chealer: what does this if clause do for you?
xavi finally gets the ceremony hat again, shining for ricks picture for his twessentials site
[18:24]
chealer98 onwards? in which revision? [18:25]
ricks99* click * [18:25]
chealerxavi: I don't read #3478 as a bug. both sending to the author and not doing it have advantages. it's surely a regression that a previous version offered a behavior and doesn't offer it anymore, but it's not necessarily a bug. reverting r22796 could also be bad for Tiki 5.0 users that don't wish to receive notifications. [18:26]
xavichealer: that file notificationemaillib [18:26]
***Torsten|afk is now known as TorstenFabricius [18:26]

xavichealer: I'm currenly seing r27342 on my local (5x branch)
xavi still getting lost in sf.net since they changed their interface months ago
pmorenogarcia: and the last and more important step eveer in the ceremony:
xavi plays some drums in the back side of the room
[18:27]

xavi leave the drum in the ground, and breaths a bit after the long (and unsuccessful) solo...
argh, pmorenogarcia told me off channel that he had to leave and he'll bbl
oh well...
[18:30]
ricks99nice try anyway
i *think* i had the ceremony documented properly on "essentials"
[18:33]
xaviyes, you do [18:34]
ricks99:-) [18:34]
xaviricks99: FYI; I had 5 page reloads (flickering) when viewing for instance: http://twessentials.keycontent.org/Contributors
using Firefox 3.6.6 on gnu/linux, in case it matters
[18:38]
ricks99yeah, i still see some intermitent flickering on some pages, some times. i think i need to svn-up again [18:39]
TorstenFabriciuser ricks99 - you r the man behind twessentials, isnīt it? at least one of those :) [18:41]
ricks99yup. Tik Essentials and Tiki for Smarties. That's me [18:41]
TorstenFabriciusah both
I have had a look at essentials today
[18:43]
xavimmm, I have to leave in 10 min... [18:43]
TorstenFabriciusgreat supplement to the general documentation [18:44]
xaviif tehre is any other admin by the time when pmorenogarcia comes back...

and the welcome message :-)
[18:44]
ricks99glad u find them both useful [18:44]
xavixavi always liked a lot the welcome messages and last steps from mose's ceremonies [18:45]
TorstenFabriciusrelly essential stuff I would say as a noob or half noob - took about not much more than 1/2 hr and i was inspired and enlighted toward a couple of problems I have now or will soon to deal with [18:45]
***chealer has joined #tikiwiki [18:46]
ricks99excellent. that's my goal [18:46]
TorstenFabriciuserr with smarties Iīd say that only partwise ... essential is different than the doc, written from a different perspective and more written to the end, so describing the problem and the hole solution -> what and how
smarties seems more to be an alternative documentation, not a supplement
a bit easier to understand, even more the problem with too less people to write and way too less germans
[18:47]
chealerxavi: OK, I see the if you're talking about. [18:48]
ricks99Smarites was originally envisioned to be an end-to-end tutorial/walkthru. It does a good job of directing u to create a working tiki (if ido say so myslef).
Essentials, you're right, is different. sort of "everything you needed to know about tiki but didn't know who to ask"
[18:49]
TorstenFabriciussmarties is good definitely - itīs just for my perspective, that I need more the detailed stuff from the 1000 page doc and that essentials is kind of a killer application somehow
ricks99 exactly
[18:50]
chealerxavi: by all likelihood, that if avoids sending notifications to change authors [18:50]
TorstenFabriciusthats my feeling going into essential [18:51]
xavichealer: yes, that's what I understood [18:51]
ricks99i'm not really much of a coder, so i contribute how/where i can [18:51]
xavithere is an "else" missing, at list, for authors
ok, pmorenogarcia seems to be back,...
[18:51]
chealerxavi: well, there *could* be one. for me, a watch is something to...watch other people's actions. naturally, you don't really watch yourself. [18:54]
xaviand I?m still here...
chealer, unless you want to follow forum threads on your email program
that's a regression
[18:54]
ricks99ricks99 longest drum solo in history.... [18:54]
xavixavi gets the drums and hat again to finjish the ceremony [18:55]
chealerxavi: I agree, but well, the regression was already released. [18:55]
pmorenogarciahi again! [18:55]
xavixavi hears the sound of the drums agian.... [18:55]
pmorenogarciaI'm ready [18:55]
xaviok, so ... as we were saying...
the last and more important last step is....
xavi reads: "User 'pmorenogarcia' was added successfully."

TorstenFabriciusQuestion: anybody there who has any experience with a php.ini needed for a certain tikiwiki function - seems to be needed for intertiki [20:09]
***MuffiXXL has joined #tikiwiki [20:09]
chealerTorstenFabricius: I don't quite understand your question [20:11]
TorstenFabriciuschealer ok, more specific ... my providers support told me, that I would need a php.ini, if I would like to start a php-script that is not included in general settings -> intertiki uses the remote.php
as I have some pronblems to get intertiki runnig with the same setting that work at kimberlees server, I think the problem could be with the php.ini
and I did not find it in the tikimasters root
so perhabs I have to make one ... but with what code in the file?
[20:12]
chealerTorstenFabricius: I get what you mean. [20:18]
TorstenFabriciuschealer cool
I look up again, if I do find an existing php.ini in the root or if itīs definitely missing
re - there is none ... support said, different than .htaccess, a php.ini has to be in every folder where it should do something as it is not inheriting
[20:18]
chealerTorstenFabricius: that's the question, what specific PHP features Intertiki would need.
TorstenFabricius: I never used it. I could guess php-xml-rpc, but I see nothing about that in documentation.
TorstenFabricius: it would be very strange that you need php.ini files in Tiki folders like .htaccess
[20:21]
TorstenFabriciuschealer intertiki would need the remote.php -> the problem would be (I guess) to tell the server to parse to that remote.php or s.th. l
alike
[20:23]
***Kimberlee has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 276 seconds) [20:23]
TorstenFabriciusit seems to be - IF that might be the problem - a similar problem like the halfmanual installation of my tikis on 1und1.de
could be just a simple codesnippet
but this time not in the inheriting .htaccess, but in a php.ini
as far as I could get out from some php-documentation there might be a php-.htaccess function from the last php subversion
[20:24]
chealerTorstenFabricius: yes...you'd need to configure stuff for Intertiki, but doesn't mean you have to modify PHP configuration. [20:27]
TorstenFabriciusanyway for the moment a php.ini might be the best way to get it working for the average user (and myself) - thinking towards the documentation aswell [20:27]
***Kimberlee has joined #tikiwiki

TorstenFabriciuschealer generally you should be right ... but again: I got the settings that work well at kimberlees account; I have both tikis on the same machine - only two different subdomains of the same domain; checked the localhost at my provider -> same 127.0.0.1; but my provider mentioned, that if I would like to use a specific php script, that I cannot access, the problem could be in the general settings on
the server and to be solved with a php.ini, if that would be the problem
[20:30]
Kimberleechealer: I gave screen shots of my working settings [20:33]
TorstenFabriciusIt is just so: many things of my project I will try to solve with workspaces, once I understood them and assumed it will be possible to set them up with an acceptable weorkflow withe the function I need [20:34]
KimberleeTorstenFabricius:I am certain chealer remembers helping me with my Intertiki environment too
TorstenFabricius: Agreed. I think many ppl are looking forward to understanding workspaces
[20:34]
TorstenFabriciusbut anyhow I need Intertiki and contextual menus - while I am sure, that I can solve the menu problems with people of my internet workgroup, I am stuck with intertiki
intertiki - meens crosssite-authentication is one of the probably two last issues I have to solve to be able to get the main page productive and to release it
for some projects tikiwiki has proved sucessful, but still not for the main page
Kimberlee I just didnīt have a chance to go into that deeper caused by two events last weeks, by the main page problem and a family-law case right this week
so once that is done, I will go for workspaces
[20:36]

For the motivation I have a lot thought about, and the purposes of the product as been my job and...
