hello
hi

hey early birdies :-p
hehe, well, I'm more like late ;)
been working all night, didn't notice time going by
you seem rather too late bro
hehe, yup :)
well, I'll say goodnight then now...
... you made me look at the time, thanks bro :)
ah, cool :)
sleep well :)
thanks - cu :)
polomonday
polom chibaguy
is there still time to put fixes and Czech translation update before Tiki 5.1 release ?
Hi luciash. Yes, I think so. I didn't see any specific release time yet.
I think maybe the release time is around http://tikiwiki.org/TikiFestBigBlueButton (Aug. 15-18)
oki :)
Speaking of bugs, I wonder if the odd browser title at tw.o is due to a bug (url appears on the tab, not wiki page name, etc.).
ithink it depends on page (if it has description) or section (if it is implemented)
there's set use page's description for title
hi all
hi coa
chibaguy: imho it should fallback to page title if description is empty
chibaguy: whould be better solution i think
yes, that makes sense.
hi coaboa
hmm, what's going on with my local copy of tiki branch5 ?
does your db/local.php look ok?
bbl. got to catch the train home. :-)
ah, somehow, my mysql was stopped
:-p
Sug4r: what was that, my dear bot ?
Pardon?
:)

hi
Hey. I want tiki-shoutbox to show only the message and not the User, Timedate, Message. I've tried to change the code in lib/shoutbox/shoutboxlib.php but i can't seem to find the right place where the output is generated
olio: templates/tiki-shoutbox.tpl or templates/modules/mod-shoutbox.tpl iirc
ah ok, found it, thx.
polom.1
hi chibaguy
hi jonnyb
shall we do a release? (probably a bit late in the day for you)
oh, i was going to have a look at the colorbox bug you posted first...
seems odd that it changed
Hi all
polom
hi ricks99, sylvieg and all
should we try and release 5.1 today?
we can
go for it
I started a rel note for 5.1
but need help
IE8 showing "error on page" even for http://info.tikiwiki.org. Is this universal or do I have a problem with my browser?
Blue_: do the other two sites have that error too?
no error in safari, probably in IE special
sylvieg & ricks99: i'll do a mail to the devels to say we'll start releasing... when? in a "few" hours?
@Blue_ can u clear the IE cache. My IE 8 reports no errors
maybe i should have a look at 5.x in IE
jonnyb: Firefox does not show any error. What other two sites are you referring to?
doc.tiwiki.org for instance
jonnyb: ok for me
(spelt properly of course)
ok, will do a mail, then read "how to release" :)
@Blue_: confirm that you are *NOT* running IE in "compatability mode"
@jonnyb: sounds good. pls include in email to 1. review the rl notes and 2. review the news release too
http://doc.tikiwiki.org has the same error in IE8. IE is not in compatability mode.
ricks99: if you have the urls handy do you want to do the mail?
Blue_: what language are you "in"
jonnyb: english
hmm (sometimes translations can break javascript strings)
@Blue_: what is ur exact IE8 version. I have 8.0.6001 and see no errors reproted
ricks99: IE version 8.0.7600.16385
hm....
jonnyb, is there yet a movement in 5.x to bring the new jQuery.s5 plugin to users?
or is it still in trunk?
no, not in 5
that'll be for 6 (unless you want to add it later for 5.2)
Are there plans to make it external?
but please don't do it now
we need to release 5.1
:)
I won't,
I was away last week, and am getting ready for a new week
just trying to catchup
how do I add links on the top menu?
How do you like what I did with s5 jonnyb? Anything you see needs to change right off?
@rotterdam: add a link to the specific menuID. see docs for details: http://doc.tikiwiki.org/Menu_Customizing_Menus
RobertP: i looked at the example you sent while in barcelona - not had time to look again now in trunk, sorry
np
ricks99, thanks
ricks99, Page not found
Is luciash around? He was asking about the release time for 5.1 because he wants to commit czech lang changes and I think some bug fix(es).
d'oh. ... /Menu#Customizing_Menus
ok chibaguy - i'm suggesting that we do it in 4(ish) hours time, should be enough (hopefully)
it'll be late for you though ;)
ricks99, :)
ok. yeah, a little late for me.
btw, I'm not getting any js errors in ie8 at info.tw.o.
although i do get them in ie fairly often.
might the info.tw.o thing be related to anonymous vs logged in?
maybe so.
i was viweing as anonymous in ie8 - no errors
Hey jonnyb, I don't have sufficient priviledges to setup feeds for jQuery.s5, can you create the feed for http://code.google.com/p/jquerys5/feeds?
ricks99, I just tried both ways, and no error.
when you have time, I know you are busy
@chibaguy: i confirm too. i saw no errors in ie 7 or 8
RobertP: how come i'd have more privies than you there? you started that one didn't you?
I have seen errors fairly recently but of course now I don't and am not sure what site or what was activated, etc.
I went to go add it here:http://doc.tikiwiki.org/tiki-editpage.php?page=JQS5
I wanted to have an rss like jquery.sheet
I did not create that page
sorry - not seen that - ricks99 can you help?

marclaporte
Just fyi, I was out of town last week, and am working on the cell id reference issue.
or feature rather
I will have it uploaded shortly.
:-)
tikiwiki: 03jonnybradley * r28250 10/branches/5.x/installer/tiki-installer.php: [FIX] Installer: Check if database really exists before using it (thanks marclaporte)
hello all.
hi Kimberlee
marclaporte, problems?
jonnyb, do you see any feezable way to save column width with spreadsheets?
marc has it on my list to do next.
polom jonnyb
may i still commit ?
haven't investigated
ok
polom luciash
please do - fixes only though, right? ;)
yea
polom
i'm still trying to track down an installer bug
yea, I was thinking, it is more or less a style attribute.
hi marc
If we were to use style, we would then also support colors, etc.
hi luciash
seems my shared host's mqsql user hasn't got the perms to find out about the charset stuff
sorry RobertP - not doing spreadsheets today
I understand
sorry, hope to soon! :)
You are a viable master of the tiki, in and out of code all day long :)
aw shucks :P
polom
polom too
chealer: WebPI code is in branches/5.x for 5.1 release?
doesn't tiki5 have an rss feed for wiki page comments? i cant find it on admin_rss?
ricks99: I have never seen that
hm...
must be dreaming
lol
we have a comment admin page that lists all comments.
be happy that your dreams don't have rss feeds ;-)
lol
:-)
tee hee!
tikiwiki: 03luciash * r28251 10/branches/5.x/tiki-imexport_languages.php:

got a nasty 5.x installer bug on my shared hosting. it's a 4.1 tiki but the line in local.php said $dbversion_tiki='3.0' and so it's trying to use adobe but failing (for some reason)
jonnyb: replace that dbversion ?
i think adding the api_tiki=pdo to local would fix it, but it would be better if it just worked...
and now i'm trying it again the version has been already updated to 5.0 (in local.php)
ik
to use the plugin SPLIT into the "Custom End of
Code" is a bad idea. :)
Bernard-: one must just close the code carefully
... what do you mean ?
{SPLIT(joincols="n",colsize="5%|20%|5%|20%)} ---col1--- ---col2{SPLIT} look ok to me
aha - seems my server has php with '-disable-pdo' set :(
aye
Bernard-: colsize has unclosed quote
...i'm getting really old... :(
:)
yes tks :)
But anyway... it broke the end code.
... time to bring back old table ?
Bernard-: probably must be enclosed inside {wiki}...{/wiki} too
as it is wiki plugin
nope tried it too:
{wiki}{SPLIT(joincols="n",colsize="5%|20%|5%|20%")} ---col1--- ---col2{SPLIT}{/wiki}
well yes, you can achieve the same with HTML table tag
can i see how it breaks ?
I wonder what would be special about SPLIT that would cause it to not work in the custom code.
Any properly formed syntax should work.
sure
here : http://shocksite.com/5x.html/
tikiwiki: 03jonnybradley * r28252 10/branches/5.x/templates/tiki-install.tpl: [FIX] Installer: Only offer to fix encoding if the database exists.
this is with the tag split
alternative in Smarty block is {wikiplugin _name="split" joincols="n" colsize="5%|20%|5%|20%")} ---col1--- ---col2{/wikiplugin}
ah ok this is interesting, i test
i don't see it there
better !
yes the "wikiplugin" is working tks
Bernard-: yo yoni ! ;)
hi jonnyb, I saw your e-mail in the devel list about the 5.1 release. Let me know if I can help you.
hi rodrigo_sampaio - yes please, the more people we have to test the better
should be stuff to play with in a couple of hours
tikiwiki: 03luciash * r28253 10/branches/5.x/tiki-edit_languages.php: [FIX] edit languages: double entities in translations problem - it is not wanted to put htmlentities and strip tags - edit languages is alowed by trusted users anyway... caused just trouble
jonnyb: ok, I will be online for the next two hours and after I will be offline for six hours or so
jonnyb: but after that I will be back online
ok, no worries, if we're still doing it in 8 hours we will need help! :D
Bernard- : literal tags are also needed for SPLIT in the custom code text area, like {wiki}{literal}{SPLIT(joincols="n",colsize="5%|20%|5%|20%")} ---col1--- ---col2{SPLIT}{/literal}{/wiki}
Hi Chibaguy.... tks right now wikiplugin seams ok
jonnyb: ok :D
ok, just for future reference. should be true for all wikiplugins.
jonnyb: can i commit just lang/cs/language.php still ?
i'll try to keep that in mind... but lately i have quit some troubles there... ;)
jonnyb: or too late ?
luciash: sure
k
i'm still trying to work out this horrid installer thing
does someone need to do the get_strings() thing? (i've never done that, but don'\t you need to do that in order to have all the strings there?)
jonnyb: i guess someone enhanced the release script to handle the get_strings
jonnyb: hopefully
we shall see :)
tikiwiki: 03luciash * r28254 10/branches/5.x/lang/cs/language.php: [ENH] Czech language: some more translated
marclaporte: the web pi code is not, but it will not be in the main tree neither
hmm, i'm now getting: A new version of Tikiwiki, 4.3, is available. You are currently running 5.0. Please visit http://tikiwiki.org/Download
bbl
translation using the DB and interactive mode is now breeze :)
luciash: yay!
luciash: I think we'll get Dogfooders!
http://inuktitut.ourwiki.net/
we need article encouraging translators to help update the translations
marclaporte, I'm having some trouble installing tiki on yahoo host, could I talk to you a couple minutes about it?
@luciash: a call for translations?
good idea
ricks99: yes, something like "We call all the translators" :)
ricks99: a pity we can't make it for 5.1 but for 5.2 we could have whole lot new translations because 5.x strings are pretty stabilized now
anyone with permission can add the user lucasemanoel to the tikiwiki project on sourceforge? he is a brazilian who is willing to help with translation
luciash: talking about translation, you know if there is any how to on how to translate tiki and contribute the translation back to the repository?
easiest would be a short video how-to
but basically you just need to enable "Use db for translations", import your lang and start translating directly via Tiki
http://dev.tikiwiki.org/i18n and http://doc.tikiwiki.org/i18n are good starts
then when done use export language, change the encoding to utf-8, save the file and send it as patch or copy/paste and commit directly
luciash: huh... this export language is new to me. sounds good
thanks for the links ricks99
dont we have a tiki team for translation?
luciash, ricks99: any of you has permission to add developers to tiki on sourceforge?
tikiwiki: 03luciash * r28255 10/branches/5.x/styles/layout/design.css: [FIX] interactive translation should be on top above all when displayed

a pity there's nobody to welcome and cheer ;)
rodrigo_sampaio: greetings to him
my first cerementy... i'm just hoping i didnt' break anything :)
ricks99: congrats
luciash: he is on #tikiwiki-br, I will ask him to join us here ;)
ricks99: who knows with your magic wand ...
little do you know... :)
Good morning!
luciash, ricks99: he is here rotterdam = luscasemanoel :)
ah :)
Olá rotterdam. welcome to tiki
rodrigo_sampaio: btw, is it true YouTube is banned in Brazil ?
bbl
luciash: where did you heard that? I don't think so, but I can't be sure since I'm not in Brasil (I'm in Montreal)
luciash: a few years ago Youtube was forced to remove a video and I think this was it
i have read that on Mashable.com that now Russia banned it and joined other countries and Brasil was listed there too
luciash: no, probably they list brazil because the site was down for a few hours or days (I don't remember), but when they removed the video they were back
Anyone, I'm installing tikiwiki on a yahoo hosting environment, and they don't let you see logs. I've manually installed the database, and yet I get nothing when I try to navigate to tiki. Anyone have any ideas?
http://division7inc.com/new
RobertP: when you say nothing you mean "white page of doom"?
I get a blank page, even after configuring db/local.php
yup
white indeed
what version?
5.0
odd - it redirects to tiki-install.php but then dies :(
can you update to svn 5.x?
that last fix i did will hopefully make any db error show up
rotterdam: welcome to the project!
@RobertP: how much php memory?
How should I quickly upgrade?
Yahoo is lower
lower memory,
like 8 meg
that's not enough. See requirements docs
32M is needed
at least 16M, even just to show a clean install
pls see http://doc.tikiwiki.org/requirements
from: http://tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=Tiki+Friendly+Hosts ; SBC Hosting(external link) memory_limit set at 8M with a 12M max — presumably if you ask nicely as it is not possible to access php.ini ranebo Jun 14, 2005
Should I ask them, pretty pretty please upgrade my memory?
try adding ur own php.ini
set memory for 32M
chibaguy, thanks
sometimes you can do it in the .htaccess (but i imaging yahoo don't allow that)
i don't think either ini or .htaccess are allowed,
chibaguy, you are who received more thanks to the channel here:)
Now that I know the issue I will try to get it resolved with support, THANKS!
:-)
chibaguy: what's going on with templates/styles/fivealive/tiki-searchindex.tpl?
i have a conflict in trunk
has it been deleted in trunk and not in 5.x?
jonnyb: I don't recall any difference in the two; they should be the same.
it seems to have gone from trunk
and sf.net seems to not have a "show deleted files" button any more ;(
isnt searchindex for the old/tiki search?
searchresults is for the mysql full-text search?
i think so, yes
but i can't see why it's in 5.x now
looks like marclaporte edited it in 5.x a couple of days ago, hence the merge conflict...
:D
i'm going to say it's not a conflict - ok to not be in trunk but still in 5.x (need to get on!)
fivealive/tiki-searchindex.tpl differs from the default in that it has the css dropdown.
that's not to say the file is being used, of course.
well it seems to have been deleted from trunk
someone just tidying up, i guess
the search works ok in trunk?
polom
I mean display-wise?
sorry, focussing on 5.1
polom chealer
anyway, fivealive/tiki-searchresults.tpl also has the cssmenu dropdown, so apparently that's the one being used.
(maybe I modified them both originally)
indexed search was deleted from trunk in January, but I believe it was restored soon after
hi jonnyb, chibaguy and all
hi chealer
tikiwiki: 03jonnybradley * r28258 10/trunk/ (20 files in 10 dirs): [MRG] Automatic merge, branches/5.x 28187 to 28257
ok, i'm going for some "lunch" - back in 20 for release fun! :)
yeah, indexed search was restored on January 21
ricks99: searchresults is actually the oldest search, although in one way you could say indexed search is obsolete since non-MySQL DBs support was dropped.
time to sleep here. bbl.
good night chibaguy
jonnyb: I don't recall sf.net having a "show deleted files" button, unless you mean the CVS Attic. or unless you're talking about something really old.
ricks99: searchresults is indeed for the mysql full-text search
chealer: really? i thought there used to be one on browse svn...
is there a way to determine number of commits for 5.1 and number of commiters?
i think the release script does that, or some of it
getting towards that :)
back
reading the back log
polom all, btw :-)
hi xavi
jonnyb: if it has been there in the past year, I failed to notice something I really missed. even on the command line there's no easy way to see deleted files. I always consider this a big regression from CVS.
hi xavi
need those basic stats for the news release
hi jonnyb and chealer

are we in release mode already?
alwasy impressive to shown high number of commits and contributors
sort of, xavi
ok
Question: Is this going to be 5.1 RC1?
afair, that was the proposal in bcn
i think it's probably safest, we don\t want all that encoding stuff again
or "RC" since we don't expect RC2
5.1 RC it is then
luciash: tks for work on import/export of language. How close/far are we for people to use Interactive translation and share back their enhancements with the community?
actually, i've changed my mind - let's do 5.1 RC 1 (otherwise i'm sure we would have to do 5.1 RC 2 :) )
ok, well thought :-)
ok, i now declare branches/5.x "officially" closed (if that's ok with everyone?)
ok
anyway, "muphy" will commit something, you know...
indeed
i've done a mail to devels about no more commits in 5.x - could someone update http://dev.tikiwiki.org/Where+to+commit please?
so - here goes! :)
page upated
thanks
4.x left out of the page (we encourage 3.x lts or latest stable branch, which is 5.x...)
good good - yes, 4.x is closed
ok, here we go...

jonnyb: I would have no problem with a final 5.1
i.e. I'm not too worried
5.0 wasn't good enough - we should make sure this time (also it was generally agreed to do that in barcelona)
tikiwiki: 03jonnybradley * r28260 10/branches/5.x/lib/setup/twversion.class.php: [REL] Version to 5.1RC1
also, this is my first release - already messed the version up! :)
jonnyb: I agree, but I think that's a lesson for Tiki 6. I want 5.0 to be replaced ASAP.
jonnyb: so you haven't figured out 5.0 telling you to upgrade 4.3?
jonnyb: so you haven't figured out 5.0 telling you to upgrade to 4.3?
yes, i needed to do ?forcecheck=y (or something)
so tiki-install.php should do forcecheck?
jonnyb: hum... that 5.0 site was upgraded from a pre-4.3 install?
was going to document it - or see why the installer doesn't make it happen
but agree that 5.1 needs to get out

ignoring it for now (but have made a note)
jonnyb: did you change the release number because the script ask you ? or because you know?
it told me to
ok thx
yes, it seems the $this->version needs to be the actual full version dusting (this time 5.1RC1 - no spaces)
and did it ask to change in _htaccess too?
and the same string needs to be in the tikiVersions() array
no, at least not yet
doing the stupid copyright file at the moment...
by the way, ricks99 - it looks like the revision range is 18261 to 23261 (according to this script)
yay, installer working on PHP 5.3.3
handy!
ricks99: hmm, maybe not - now it's looking at 13260 to 18260
yes, it seems to be going back to the dawn of time...

ricks99: have a look at r 28262 (the changes in changelog.txt)
do we still need to update http://tikiwiki.org/stable.version or is doen automatically now?
i'd guess it's a manual ftp thing (but don't know really)

jolly good - think it was just some legacy stuff on my old tiki
changelog doesnt help me much :-(
we could/should add a "double check this" link to that message
surely cant be too hard to find :
1. number of commits since last branch
2. number of unique usernames?
indeed - it should be added to release.php i think
+1
142 commits
i made it 141 ;)
tx. how many contributors?
add ideas here: http://dev.tikiwiki.org/How+to+release#Improve_the_release_process
there are still some php errors reported here - only STRICT and DEPRECATED ones though, ok? (i'm ignoring them)
jonnyb: in the release scripts?
ik, check smarty templates has blown up (on tiki-mods.tpl)
15 contributors
sorry chealer?
jonnyb: the PHP errors come from the release scripts or what?
oh sorry - yes
it beats my expectations if there's nothing more than STRICT and DEPRECATED
me too :D
never ran them but I fugre it's OK
figure
yes, the smarty check i think is more of a problem
i seem to remember for 4.0 we just skipped that bit
so skipping...
I'm trying to download the trunk by a graphic account of svn and it is asking username and password

marclaporte, on some page or on my computer?
sylvie: thanks - but I've got a 4.0 site that is still just telling me to upgrade to 4.3 - should this at least report 5.0?
looks like it sylvieg
eromneg: not sure about the logic there ...
need to check the code
eromneg: i had one this morning saying it was 5.0 but i should upgrade to 4.3!
so something's wrong in there
yay! my shell returned...
it should report *both* - a major and minor update
and it's laid three lovely little tarballs!
but a 3.x site should report only 3.x (minor) and 5.x (major) since 4.x is deprecated
one of my 3.5 sites just says "A new stable major release branch is available." does give a number
does not give a number
imho, tiki should recommend 3.x -> 5.x -- NOT 3.x -> 4.x
something to look at for tiki6
jonnyb: should the 5.0 file not be removed at the same time as the 5.1 secdb is added :-?
you'd think so
maybe not with a minor release
bbl
tarballs are gradually uploading - brb
the secdb thing should help compare if files were not modified since installation time (by some cracker's scripts, etc.) iirc
indeed, i've just never got past that bit :)
so it is only useful for end users, right ?
ok, first one's there: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1927369/5.1.preRC1/tiki-5.1.preRC1.tar.bz2
i'll do the zip one locally, even though that seems like cheating!
haha
jonnyb, what is the procedure for a small fix after a release has been locked?
:)
like what?
s5, I need to update a small line of js.
for it to work correctly.
Where it is linked
i thought you were working in trunk, no?
ah yes
ok nevermind :)
phew! :)
ok, here's the gzip: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1927369/5.1.preRC1/tiki-5.1.preRC1.tar.gz
I get it
zip seems fine here but should be independently checked i guess - should be up soon
ok (finally) here is the zip: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1927369/5.1.preRC1/tiki-5.1.preRC1.zip
i'm going to proceed with the proper release now (i.e. without the 'pre' bit) - i'm assuming (warning!) that the tarballs all have tiki 5.1 inside them?
yell quick if you find otherwise please!
jonyb, the tar.gz has many more dirs inside
I wonder if this is intentionakl...
jonnyb ^
oh?
ah, stinky - it's done them in mac compatibility "mode"
how dull...
i'll fix
ok, good, this gives me some more time to install a full lampp stack on ,y computer (reinstalled the 64 bit version of linux a few days ago, and forgot to install lampp)
ok, re-uploading "cleaned" tarballs
luciash: you'll get a load of extra mac files in there, sorry - new ones on their way
oh, in the bz2 as well ?
didn't spotted
they all start with a . so might not show up
bz2 doesn't sem to have them
i see .htaccess but no mac files or folders there
my brand new 5.1rc1 install seems to b very smooth
jonnyb, the extra folders I see are not hidden, but full folders
i.e.: Zend, Service, lib, core
like what xavi?
like this file: UpdateConferenceTemplateParticipantResponse.php from this directori:
they should be in /lib
Zend/Service/DeveloperGarden/Response/ConferenceCall
heheh
xavi: i don't understand
ricks99: I presume because there more cases when the user is upgrading instead of just installing, and lph fed up ll possible cases
possibly
s/II/with
i understand, but for a new install, there should not b the warning, no?
yes. however, how do you know at the end if you run into a clean install or upgrade?
jonnyb: try uncompressing the tar.gz file
ok
if u click INSTALL = clean install, right?
ricks99: yes
xavi - so files with long filenames seem to be missing for you, yes?
which UTF should my db be? utf_8_general_ci?
jonnyb: nope. there are extra folders and files for me
hmmm, this doesn't seem good
at the same level as the tikipre folder
"Úspěšně provedené operace instalace: 6432 SQL dotazů." :)
maybe the mac zipping until is weird
I was 4.1 it told me 4.3 and major exists - I upgraded to 4.3 ... no more message :-( (missing the major)
ricks99: i think you shouldn't care about that, the installer does that ;)
until/util
no ricks99 - that' the mysql default
@luchiash: the installer doesn't create the db? i though i had to do it first?
jonnyb: installation in czech was succesfully completed
can someone else have a look at the gzip one, seems ok to me
thx luciash
ricks99: ah, ok, then i didn't care any my mysql create database tiki51; did it ;)
i have utf-8 default i think, genereal_ci seems the best choice
im confused. are we saying that tiki5.1 will create the db for you as part of the installer?
ricks99: nope, sorry, i misunderstood
yes, utf8_bin is a bit weird, i'd avoid that one (everything seems to come out of the db as encoded binary)
has anyone else found the gz to be bad?

ok, let's hope so
yes, I agree with ricks99: step 8 in installer with a clean install would be nicer if it didn't show the "upgrading and running into encoding issues? ... "Dangerous: Fix double encoding"
anyway, installer went fine for me
ok, i'm at the "tag release" stage here
shall i go for it?
and I wonder about "01Dangerous: Fix double encoding" does that mean the fix is dangerous?
(suggest we fix the misplaced encoding message for 5.2)
minor issue: language.js seems not to work for me
I did the install in catalan, and the javascript message of password strength is in english, even if I translated and commited
so should we postpone? i'm not sure when i'll be able to donate another day next
minor issue. so , +1 to release as is right now
(i.e. someone else will have to do it)
so no blockers?
how hard to fix?
more the question is: who has 6 hours to start all this release process just for this?
+1 jonnyb
thanks ricks99 for adding this tiny issue at the release notes
these issues have been in 5.x for a long time, they should wait for 5.2 i think
remember, this is still only RC1
several hour left to go...
yes, jonnyb, you are right: go for rc1!
hours
here goes

ok, new non-pre tarballs uploading for testing (of shall i just upload them to sf.net?)

no idea. for minimum potential noise, I'll test again
thanks xavi

there I go for tar.bz2
xavi: I think language.js is not used yet
or it's very recent
yes, not really used yet (but i thought i worked on the password strength strings)
in Spanish and Catalan at least
yes, it did work for me
gzip up: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1927369/5.1RC1/tiki-5.1.RC1.tar.gz
and very recently added by jonnyb
testing the gzip
i thought it was only in trunk... obviously not
thx sylvieg
fyi: utf-8 of the db not set properly, I'm afraid. My first install was a clean install on a new db...
db created through phpmyadmin, and usually get latin1
I did run the installer with the forece utf-8 for new installations, the first time
really? you created it with latin1 i guess
everything when fine, parently
did you try the 'fix it' button (the first one)
and nowadays, I'm testing the 5RC1, over the same db
zip is here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1927369/5.1RC1/tiki-5.1.RC1.zip
and when installing it, I provide same db details: username, db, etc.
and I see then the "convert db and tables to utf-8"
xavi: oh OK, I'll try checking
i also checked the new zip locally - no sign of any funny Mac files, so i'll start the upload to sf.net (can always remove them if anything really bad appears)
thus, I presume that previously was not set to utf-8 by the installed, even if the checkbox "utf-8" was selected at the installer
I though some time ago it was translated...
i thought so too sylvieg
i did get an error in the release script on the update lang files part though
the rest is correctly translated
Warning: unlink(temp/permstrings.tpl): No such file or directory in /Users/jonny/5.x_release/doc/devtools/release.php on line 118
but then it says: >> Language files updated and temporary files removed.
so i guess it was really ok
there is not tranlstaion of the homepage in the language.php
so probably somebody changed it
.... I supopose we need a lag/fr/homeapge
or do it from a profile?
jonnyb, everything went fine here, beyond that minor wrong info about db encoding
good, thanks - the bz2 is on it's way to sf.net
xavi do you know something about the homepage translation ( I did not begin in install in fr - I did only after the switch)
"after the switch"?
mine is fine also teh tar.gz
if you do it in a local language, the homepage should be in that lang (provided it's translated in language.php, of course)
testing right now with catalan again
I entered tiki - goto i18n change lang to fr
but homepage did not changed
ah, no, then. it seems to be fetched at installation time from language.php, afaik
HomePage is set in the installer, i think
sylvieg, the behavior you explain would be even better , but minor issue, imho
so it is because I switch too late in the instal
i seem to remember if you remove the homepage it makes a new on (in the right lang, one would hope)
yes, I confirm it works if you do the whole installation in your language
+1 jony - it works
well, at some point, due to the utf-8 fix buttons, language is lost, afair
ok, did run out of time here. congrats for the release, jonnyb-release-manager! :-)
:D
(hopefully)
see you all
thanks for your help
a pleasure I could help a bit
is there something else I can do for the release ?
re
just waiting for the files to upload
i'm having to use the web interface as i didn't seem to have the right perms via sftp
oh, yes, now i noticed... my homepage is translated to czech after installation was done in czech. but there seems to be some problem with encoding on that page
it might have died...
i get ?? instead of correct utf-8 chars
luciash: on a fresh 5.1 RC1? :-/
yes
bleh
but not all accented chars, only some of them
in a utl-8 db?
utf
surprysingl ž, š, and í are displayed correctly
*surprisingly
hmm, let me check
i thought the language translation doesn't depend on db by default tho
interface is correct, just the homapage content, so, hmm, maybe you're right, i didn't create the db properly maybe
check the encoding of the lang.php file?
what is the command to check encoding of the db in mysql console ?
you can see it on phpmyadmin
on the "variables" page
no phpmyadmin here :-p, just console mysql
google "select like charset" - it's something involving that
ah, got it
tried status;
seems it is my fault, sorry, it is latin1 there
i will try to re-run installer and update and fix to utf-8
ricks99: you were doing much more clever job than me believing my db is utf-8 ready ;)
ok, got proper sftp to sf.net working (after re-reading the instructions)
jonnyb: hopefully the encoding issue gets fixed by the installer now
seems not though, for you?
luciash: the interface translation doesn't depend on the DB but the content translation (kind of the case here) does
hmm, got E_WARNING too after installation
Missing argument 13 for sendWikiEmailNotification(), called in /home/luci/Development/tiki51/lib/tikilib.php on line 4587 and defined
chealer: yeah, just realized that
it occurs when i set no sender email in installer imho
luciash: sounds like a pre-existing issue
jonnyb: yeah, re-run the installer, fixed the encoding issue, switched to cz, reinstalled db and now the content is correctly in proper utf-8
nice
can you add anything to the release notes on this?
for fresh installation it is pretty nice to be able to do that via installer
yea
ok, the files are on sf.net at last
https://sourceforge.net/projects/tikiwiki/files/
@jonnyb: is 5.1 "done"?
hi ricks99 - 5.1 RC 1 is
"RC"- K.
how long do we plan until final?
can you sanity check one for me pls? https://sourceforge.net/projects/tikiwiki/files/
trying to decide if it is worth a news reelase
depends if everyone likes this one, i guess
grabbing the zip....
no, let's test a bit more pls
k but i want to do a mini annoucement for wider testing
sounds good
goddamnit ! :(
wtf ?
i edited the page like mad to add to the releae notes, want to add remarksbox so i click the (?) help icon to find that plugin and instead of the jQueryUI popup all my content is gone :(
on tw.o :(
it really sucks
click for help does nothing but reload the edited page, grmbl >:(
yuk - sounds like a js error there (again)
jonnyb: sorry, i will not try to write it again to the releasenotes
check the js console
yeah, minified sucks
not minified - it's social networking again
('twitter_update_list')' [null] is not an object
in blogger.js (again)
New Forum Posts: How to edit text in upload dialog for one group of users - http://tikiwiki.org/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?forumId=4&comments_parentId=37939
Uncaught ReferenceError: openEditHelp is not defined
tiki-editpage.php:219
then it reloads the page
yes, but first there is: TypeError: Result of expression 'document.getElementById('twitter_update_list')' [null] is not an object.
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'tooltips' of undefined
which then causes the rest of the js in the php file to fail
yes, all jquery is broken
ok
:(
solution is to debug http://twitter.com/javascripts/blogger.js (someone please!) or remove the twitter module
oh yea, also the CSS menu seems to be bugged (closes right away i move mouse from parent)
because of that
unassigning tiki tweets to see if it helps
c'mon
most of the tw.o sites have been broken like this in the past few weeks :(
ok, twitter thing gone, but error still there
try re-minifying?
hm, how to ?
clear public cache?
ah
Tiki cache ?
yy
or switch the pref off and on again
(then it won't do all the others... too late?)
nope :)
:)
my finger was on the button ;)
minify js off
try now ?
nice - errors all gone for me
(in safari)
minify on
Info: TopLink 5.1 RC1 Now Available - http://info.tikiwiki.org/article101-TopLink-5-1-RC1-Now-Available
ik - errors back :(
i told you minify sucks ;)
LOL, Tiki has gone renamed "TopLink" ?
svn up'ing there might help
ricks99: red alert ! ;)
it's two weeks out of date
ARg
:P
ah yup, not having that svn upping credentials on my hand now
anyone ?
sylvieg: ?
can u svn up tw.o ?
i think tw.o is an Oliver thing only afaik
aye
I do not have anymore access to tw.org
jonnyb: so i do js minify off now until svn upped, ok ?
i guess
if editing is broken it's pretty bad
yes, it really pissed me off, i tell you :-p
seems ok if not logged in for me
minify off again
have you switched minify off again? (could you put it back on for a few minutes)
(js minify to be more precise)
:D
hahaha
i want to find the actual offending bit of js
ok it is on now
apologies, all :(
it's probably fixable by changing some prefs i feel
ta
goin to put the tweets module on for anonymous and registered again
ricks99: np, hopefully it didn't leak into many RSS feeds already ;)
s/RSS feeds/RSS readers/
well, i deleted the article
which now ve used a redirect insteadi realize, i should ha
which now i realize i should have used a redirect instead
jonnyb: i enabled the tweets module, hopefuly it doesn't affect your debugging hunt
again
probably not
think i'm too tired to wrestle with minify stuff now, so better switch it off again for now
i wonder if any of the other tw.o sites have the same problem
Info: Tiki 5.1 RC1 Now Available - http://info.tikiwiki.org/article102-Tiki-5-1-RC1-Now-Available
ok
it can be combination of more things
(CDN of google, minify css there too)
indeed
i'll try and recreate it locally
