I have a problem that I am trying to solve using a default category but this feature (assigning a default category to a group) seems not to be working
what i am trying to achieve:
i have normal users and priviledged ones in a seperate group
i want to force priviledged users to chose a category for their entries (lets say "private" or "general") but I want normal users to always post as "general", at least if they do not indicate a seperate category
does anyone have an idea how to get that working? ***: luciash has joined #tikiwiki

I found this gem online: http://dev.tiki.org/Workspace#Short_term_notes

i'll be in a meeting now but will check back later
other then that tiki wiki is awesome
(except for lack of direct pdf export maybe) luciash: yeah, ok ***: redflo has joined #tikiwiki wojtech: maybe i am using it wrong
non-priviledged users are in group "registred" for which i set the mentioned setting to category "general"
i then tried to create a new entry as a non-registered user but it did not set the category on the entry
btw what would also be acceptable is if new pages could "inherit" the category of the page they were created from (if they are created by clicking a non-existing wiki reference)
but i recon this isn't possible since tiki doesn'T have a concept of parent-kid relationship for pages luciash: wojtech: yeah, seems to be broken in 5.x

Caarrie is now known as Caarrie|away Trebly: With the same data and version using 5.3 a server sends full OK utf8 pages while the other installation displays for the page (seen globally by the navigator as utf8) pieces of text utf-8 (menus and all from language.php) , while all text from others data are received converted "where ?" into latin1.
So in this case the product is unusable (because accentuated chars of French appears as "?", and more the error exist into indexes and requests of pages)
Do this problem is known ?, who is taking care of these aspects "hold utf-8", are into svn some answers ?

Does anyone know how the xajax component works?
I'm using pagination for the sheets history, and I can't seem to get anything to post back when it fires.
I can echo stuff on the page, but outside of that it is like the smarty template isn't running. Trebly: <silvieg>Yes absolutely : the data are the same and I have made the load of the databases from the same sql (manually converted for 5.0 when double-encode and before solved) further I export both and compared the files. -: sylvieg never uses ajax - was a lot buggy for a long time... robertplummer: O come on, someone has to know. Trebly: <silvieg> the mysql are near the same on the good server, mine, and the other is OVH I have the details. All utf-8 sylvieg: Trebly: try under musql show valriables like '%char%'; to see if same mysql setting marclaporte: robertplummer : hehe
maybe jonny? robertplummer: Why would smarty not fire on post back?
Yea, I asked him, but I think he is busy. ***: eromneg has quit IRC (Quit: ChatZilla 0.9.86 [Firefox 3.6.10/20100914125854])

I am already in the mood to rollback luci: :) chealer: hehehe :-) sylvieg: chealer: we will have fun with 30000 chealer: sylvieg: that will set the bar for r40000 :-) sylvieg: :-) robertplummer: hey chealer, may I get some direction from you?
I'm assuming you know how pagination is built, correct?
I asked this a bit ago, not sure if you saw it. chealer: robertplummer: yes, I saw your messages, I guess you didn't get my reply but I never built something paginated robertplummer: o
thanks chealer: robertplummer: I may have red the code once but I'm far from an expert -: chealer goes back to dinner preparation chealer: I sent a message to tikiwiki-cvs about my latest commit (saying little more than the message) sylvieg: robertplummer: in pagination ajax is like pagination without you must correctly set auto_args or something like this robertplummer: you mean $auto_query_args? sylvieg: $auto_query_args must have the list of var that is necessary to build the url
otherwise ajax or not ajax shoukld work the same robertplummer: You are the man! sylvieg: try without ajox robertplummer: Nope, it didn't work. sylvieg: so you probably missed up with the params
what is your {pagination line?
it is easy to miss up with a one page pagination robertplummer: {pagination_links cant=$ver_cant itemname="{tr}Sheet{/tr}" offset_arg="idx_0" offset="`$sheetIndexes[0]`" show_numbers=n}{/pagination_links} sylvieg: //checking some params are missing robertplummer: The url: http://localhost/tikiwiki/6.x/tiki-history_sheets.php?sheetId=1&idx_0=0&idx_1=4&
The postback url: http://localhost/tikiwiki/6.x/tiki-history_sheets.php?sheetId=1&&idx_1=4&idx_0=1
as far as I can tell, everything is there. sylvieg: you ned step robertplummer: step=1?
step?
step=true?
step=y? sylvieg: ste is the number of items for a step robertplummer: I thought cant was that. sylvieg: cant is the toatl number
total robertplummer: so step would be 1? sylvieg: how many history per view?
usually it is maxRecords
$prefs.maxRecords robertplummer: right now it is unlimited sylvieg: ??? why do you need a pagination if it is unlimited? robertplummer: I'm paging through the history items at the top of the history.
I'm not paging through all the records though in the list view, they are all listed out.
Is that what you meant? sylvieg: so {pagination is not appropriate????
it is like the nmext item robertplummer: No it is right. sylvieg: pagination does not work for this it works for an url offsetxxx= robertplummer: right
Ok, I think I found the problem,
POST isn't sending the tpl name.
tiki-pagehistory.tpl
That works great. sylvieg: if you are able to have what you want in an url like offsetxxx=sss&maxxxx=y robertplummer: ok
Ok, how is xajax being fed the tpl name?
For instance, tiki-pagehistory.php send the following back to xajax: xjxargs[] Stiki-pagehistory.tpl xjxargs[] Stiki-center xjxargs[] N50 xjxargs[] Sadmin xjxfun loadComponent xjxr 1287007988634
The first part: xjxargs[] Stiki-pagehistory.tpl, how is it being set? Trebly: <silvieg> Not yet successful to get information from mysql of OVH parameters,
I could not get data from information_schema because I had never used and this needs to have a yet made php script, this while phpmyadmin don't gives detailed informations as for my server.
As the lonely informations asked at the creation of a database is the encode and defined utf-8 and sort index code, in my opinion I could not change anything to make these installation conformed to tiki needs.
So my question is which mysql server parameter should be defined for the use with 5.3 ? Where are they defined ? How to take in account mysql mys-defined parameters as CHARACTER_SET_CLIENT (for example) ? ***: luci has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 265 seconds)
