chibaguy: the tiki7 module areas are working pretty well
I was concerned about how multiple themes on a site would be handled with no more theme tpls for siteheader , but it's pretty easy, using the module parameters to control visibility.
something to look forward to
hmm, what module in trunk will display a thumbnail from a gallery?
Hmm again, parameters aren't saving for a custom user module in trunk (using syntax parameter=x¶meter=y).
Trebly: <chibaguy> Hi, I follow in details your job on tiki.tpl and styles. I try to help you in the shade, finding problems, this because I had developed some templates for Joomla and it is quite the same job (with smarty more). I don't go into details here. Some behaviour seams good and with others modules or another style the col3 is out etc. It is not stable.
- about TPL: tiki-sitelocbar.tpl I do believe that the right place is under the header (last in-line after header modules) because it is a useful tool to navigate.
- I have (mine version, added a margin top (12px) to class header_outer that I have introduced in layout, this allows a graphic space between header and middle. This separates all the cols from header without margin for cols.
What's your opinion ?

Also, tiki-sitelocbar.tpl is probably going to be displayed with a module in Tiki 7. All those little things like breadcrumbs, email this page, etc. will be displayed as modules in the new module zones. no more template files for them.

Trebly: <chibaguy> c1c2 is in < middle in< middle_outer. middle_outer inherits of 100%, midlle is fixedwidth=100%, #c1c2 is fixed 100% then col3 which is aside c1c2 can move under all.
I am aware of the roles of layout and style it is the reason why I always try to know where is the "constants of general style" which must be in layout and not repeated in styles, here there is always a colored header and the middle outer. So to ba able to align top of all colx (col1, center col3) the better ans shorter is a top margin on middle_outer (I met the same in joomla some year ago 1.15)

Well, I have minor problems, such as the calendar in the calendar module being too wide for the column, but not major column layout problems.
***: Yonixxx has joined #tikiwiki
Trebly: <chibaguy> I was sure. I try to find why. I am doing a test and a come back.
The calendar problem is independant. I am working on and there is a lot of letterature. Very important problems which need to have an ad-hoc team on this, but before I need to end my work. And there are other who tries thing as I had yet 50 hours of work on and don't commit anything (just a preparation) because it is not yet solved. The main problem is that all calendars and their module...
...share some same vars which come from the time when there was one lonely calendar...
chibaguy: Trebly: Please see the screenshot I just added as attachment to your bug report.
Well, the module calendar problem I mentioned was a simple case of the side column being too narrow to hold the calendar due to the width of calendar text and padding, etc.
You can see the layout in my Tiki 7 installation is not broken. This is Subversion trunk.

Trebly: <chibaguy> OK. That what I am waiting. Why not ? I am looking for.
I just think now that there is a possbility that I have to test. It seems that there is sometimes bugs into the screendrivers and OS system, this make that the reported various values for the available width seems wrong (some differences and available values too great, seems related with the problem as the MS js calculous which are different from the js used with Firefox - calls of basic...
...functions from GUI) then the final width calculated to display appears wrong (greater than the available) then the navigator cuts on the right). I need simply to add a js modules which reports the current values, this allows test into the footer.
Too it can come from windows (use of two screens - one 1680x1080 and one 1920x1200 - and confusions on the size of the displaying screen).
I made reports on forums about this subject one or two year ago. I will try to get back. The solution had been to have a little js test to make corrections or to take care of the maximum error into the calculous (for example set 94% not 100% width. sorry for the length it is a little complicated problem.
chibaguy: Oops, also a problem in Opera.
Trebly: what web browser are you using?
Trebly: <chibaguy> On XP SP3 firefox by I can test too with MS explorer, Google chrome and Opera. I make a test right now with the url.
chibaguy: I use Firefox and Opera to work on the themes (same XP SP3), and check with Chrome (actually SEWare Iron - chromium )and IETester (for IE7 and 8, no more IE6 for Tiki 7) and sometimes Safari (windows version).

- There is really various result for the same value in diffrent context (value got by a window.document.getElementById("windim") :
- window.innerWidth
- document.body.clientWidth
- screen.availWidth
- screen.width
- To not have a minimum fixed width, the solution has been (Joomla site)
- Find an envelop of the values found ( test four computers and four navigators)
- Choose a max width in % so that never the result x% * <security coeofficient> be > 100%
-In another way limit the with of center because of ergonomics so that, with the font, there was no more than 100c per line displayed (readibility of texts)
<chibaguy><jonnyb> with opera the first line header components overlap completely (align right but the right is not decrease by each component...) with google-chrome its ok, with firefox they partially overlap from right, they seem to be limited on left by the TPL: tiki-sitelocbar.tpl )

chibaguy: jonnyb, something else about admin modules. When assigning a custom user module, I had trouble getting the parameters to work. With two parameters, it was fine (nobox=y&theme=thenews.css) but when I added two more, they wouldn't be saved. That is, after saving, only the first two parameters showed as assigned.
This seems to be a regression, unless I was doing something wrong locally (but don't know what).
