Trebly: Information about code editors with JS files : most of developers probably knows about this but I don't.
PSPAD was not unable to show JScript enhanced and provide help to write. The solution is : Even the file is *.js the embedded <script> statement is mandatory with PSPAD. After it is good.
I have not found anything in docs about the automatic embedded code coming from *.js files.
Do you know any problem about this.

lphuberdeau: some editors do it fine, some don't
however, most of the embedded code in tiki uses a custom smarty plugin, so there is no way around that
other than modifying the editor's syntax highlight rules, or live without it

Trebly: <jonny><lphuberdeau> I have a PSPAD which works perfectly with smarty. I sent to jonny the cooking recipe by mail
<jonnyb> I was talking about PSPAD which don't hold the *.js files. The reason is that is holds them if they begin by the embedded <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"> ... the whole lib code ... </script>
even it is in js tit edits it as embedded js into html
jonnyb: hi Trebly, sorry, not familiar with pspad, some sort of editor i'm guessing - don't follow the other points either i'm afraid

Trebly: <jonnyb> PSPad is a very good tool. Many features.
i had two "lonely" problems :
1- It had defintions of smarty syntax but it was not functionning
2- It was was not recognizing jscript in *.js (but into some embedded into old html
I solved both and it is quite simple.
jonnyb: yay, nice! i've recently moved to using netbeans, also has smarty issues
Trebly: <jonnyb> I will try it and tell you if there are better features in Pspad or not
jonnyb: i'm about 80% happy with it, it's about as good as it get (for free!)
dcedilotte: Trebly: PSPAD is a really bad choice for an editor. If you want some really good editors, Nodepad++ comes to mind, so is Notepad2(if my memory is right), InType for it's support of textmate bundles is great, e-texteditor (it has an open source version too now, though you still require a license to use it but it's the best editor on Windows). Aptana as stated on the CreateAnIDE page on dev.tiki.org works wonders too. Netbeans
is good too but I find it sluggish at times on my machine to I stay away from it.
jonnyb: yes, i stopped waiting for aptana 3 to have proper php support so tried netbeans - much quicker!

jonnyb: hi luciash & all
dcedilotte: jonnyb, I agree, Netbeans is really great but as I stated, it sometimes becomes sluggish on my machine and I can't figure out why. Aptana runs perfectly and it run on JVM too. Weird.
marclaporte: +1 Notepad++
jonnyb: hey, marclaporte - we got tiki mobile working on a blackberry in the pub earlier on - w00t!
luciash: +1 for Aptana / Eclipse and (g)vim of course ;) as they're crossplatform
i don't know Netbeans
jonnyb: w00t :)
dcedilotte: luciash, true about (g)vim I forgot to mention it.
-: luciash installed his first BBB ! w00t :)
dcedilotte wonders what the 3rd B is in luciash's comment... :)
luciash: >whatis bbb
Sug4r: 'bbb' could be Big Blue Button

an example would be http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%26D the box to the right and the table of contents

luciash: nicohelp: for toc use {maketoc}
nicohelp: you need some !Headings and !!Headings around the page
nicohelp: yeah I got that now ty :) any word on the box to the right is that freetags or something?
luciash: to emulate that box i would proably use Trackers, but that's advanced stuff
you can do that manually with a table syntax in a box floated right
something like {DIV(float=right)}^{FANCYTABLE()}__Designer__|((Gary Gygax)) and ((Dave Arneson)){FANCYTABLE}^{DIV}
check the syntax on http://doc.tiki.org/Wiki+Syntax
for the wikiplugins see doc.tiki.org/PluginFancyTable and doc.tiki.org/PluginDiv or PluginBox
nicohelp: so ther may be a plug that emulates this behavior? I am reading the guide on trackers now that I know the name
luciash: i'd rather start with the basic wiki syntax and plugins... keep the trackers for later ;)
nicohelp: very nice looking at plugins now. You are of great help
is there a way to exclude a heading from the TOC
luciash: i don't think so, you have to use another markup

is this for a tiki thing? if so i'd try and use the one that looks most like the jquery-ui project api (as i hope to have it in for tiki 8 or 9)
changi: no, it's not for a tiki project, but a very similar architecture
jquery + jquery-ui + smarty 3
and highcarts for charts

my daily question: dividing two {DIV()}s with the {SPLIT()} plugin, I need a vertical line between the two rows ... how can I getthat line done?
sorry between the two columns
as example: I have two articles on my startpage http://papatour.eu and need a vertical line between them
ricks99: can do it pretty easily w/ 2 custom css styles (but i personall prefer whitespace as the divider)...
create a style with the bgcolor=xxxx of the color you want the dividing line..
2. assign that style as the custom css for the SPLIT table
3. create a css with background=#ffffff
4. enclose the article plugins in {DIV(class="....")}...{DIV} so they'll have white backgrounds...
5. in the SPLIT, use fixed sizes. create 3 columns. the middle colum will be the width of the line
<eof>
fabricius: ah cool
thx ricks

xavi: how can I escape square brackets in smarty templates in tiki?
when used for R in wiki pages directly, they work as expected. I.e.:
a[1,]
but when used in wiki pages used as smarty templates through plugin trackerlist they become converted to external links...
and I need to avoid it
but I don't know how
ricks99: did you try: a[[1,]
xavi: yes, I did :-)
jonnyb: hi xavi - um, it's probably html encoding happening - have a look (in 6) at how they get escaped in module parameters
xavi: but didn't work
ricks99: thought you would... :-)
that's my only suggestion. sorry
xavi: hi ricks99 and jonnyb
np, thanks ricks99 for sharing it :-)
and thanks for tip, jonnyb, I'll have a look there
jonnyb: try a%5B1%2C%5D
which i got by putting escape("a[1,]") into my javascript console
(like firebug)
xavi: aha...
in that case of modules, the square brackets seem to be only after smarty variables: $variable[ix] ...
but I wonder if I can use $ as variable name in R... (not sure)
jonnyb: not the code - in a running tiki
xavi: I'll try first your other tip, jonnyb
r returns: Error: unexpected symbol in "a%5B1%2C"
