Although we didn't have any damage here, it really did feel different from the 'normal' quakes I've felt.
Fortunately, kind of a muted movement, though, not sharp. I guess due to the distance.
But it went on a long time.
i can hardly imagine it... only know from videos... but my wife experienced some light one once on hawaii

cubicleguy: i've never seen so many cars washed away... i heard japanese ppl are trained every year or so what to do in case of an earthquake... i wonder what should one do if caught in a car and tsunami is coming ?
There's a day every year to hold drills and get information about emergencies; usually the info is about what to do inside a building or out on the street, etc. . I don't know what they say about tsunamis and cars. 
Obviously, get away from the ocean as quickly as possible (safely).

sylvieg, I think tabs should be different from theme to theme, just as buttons are. 
Well, sometimes a plain set of grey tabs is used in a theme, but I think it's really better to color coordinate them with the theme.
