Sorry for starting off with a small rant. hi chibaguy hi chealer chibaguy: I agree this kind of problem is unacceptable these days chibaguy: what is the difference between Opera and Firefox on that? good morning all morning chealer, in firefox, once the form is submitted, the data isn't retained if the the submit fails, or anyway that's how it was the last time I tried. In Opera, if I got a timeout or something, I could hit the back button and my data would still be in the form, due to local cache I guess. Which was handy. I'll check on other types of forms to see if it's Opera that changed. hi coaboa and LordVan good morning coaboa Just now in Tiki 7 (different problem) I'm finding I can't add a second menu module to a module zone. chibaguy: so Opera 10 had an advantage and it was lost in version 11? Apparently so. But I've only noticed it so far in Tiki's wiki editpage textarea with codemirror turned on. I'm not sure if this is always the behavior. chibaguy: Firefox will offer you to re-submit if you refresh after a POST. I would think this prevents the data from being lost About the modules, I wanted to use "menu" twice in the top module zone, once for the secondary site menu and once for the main menu. It doesn't seem to work (second instance doesn't save as a new module assignment). Oh, I see. if edit fails, open a new tab, go edit, and with F5 in the first tab, submit again My recall is that I lost the data, but haven't checked in a while. bleh i forgot what i wanted to ask .. whatever ^ ^ I don't actually remember saving an edit that way but I imagine it should work ah i know now (which is not to say it should work like that) tiki does send an email to new users right? where can I set that text? I don't know Opera enough yeah, I used to use another tab to login again and then submit with the first tab in Opera, if being logged out was the problem. LordVan, I don't know if there's an interface to edit that text, or if it needs to be done by making a custom language translation. LordVan: it must use a template in templates/mail/ the template may use a string that could be modified at tiki admin i18n. ok well i don' tmind changing the templates I just want to give them a link to the page explaining how to - veeerry basically- use tiki ;K) the advantage of using the custom string translation is that it would survive site updates. ...unless the update changed the string good point i'll check it out thanks hehe the cheapest solution may depends on whether you use Subversion hello everyone! :) hi chealer, nah i just use the latest tarball hi migz chibaguy: regarding [Tiki-devel] Remaining modules revamp regressions (Re: Visual issues persist for me in hourly upgraded trunk) chibaguy: I still see a problem in trunk, but not an overlap as I reported. I see the same problem as on http://demo.tiki.org/trunk/tiki-admin.php?page=look which is the one luciash reported, too small distance this is my local install: http://ido.ath.cx:8080/tiki/trunk/tiki-index.php i have a question, maybe some of you have an idea -- we're introducing tiki in our enterprise, but there's a business request that we should make sure that the content is migratable to other platforms, like for an example xwiki Welcome to the official Tiki Wiki CMS Groupware channel. Please ask your question directly. Don't ask to ask. Someone will reply if and when they know the answer. Welcome again and please stay a while. Thank you! Welcome to the official Tiki Wiki CMS Groupware channel. Please ask your question directly. Don't ask to ask. Someone will reply if and when they know the answer. Welcome again and please stay a while. Thank you! chealer, do you mean an overlap or small separation between the logo's right side and the background image? chibaguy: small separation (I reported an overlap after luciash reported small distance, but I now see a small distance, the same shown by luciash's screenshot) migz: I'm not sure of the current status of content migration out of Tiki. I know there's been working on importing from WordPress and Mediawiki. chealer, how does it look at themes.tiki.org? chibaguy: it's OK there. don't you see the same thing as I do? I use Iceweasel chealer, seems like themes.t.o has a little more space (more like tiki 6). I'll check on what accounts for the difference. chealer, I looked in Opera and Firefox 4 (pretty much the same in each). chibaguy: my 7.x install has the same issue Ok. I can move the background to the right. it's unfortunate, the curve goes in the opposite direction from the words which words? chibaguy: "groupware" is longer than wiki and cms. if groupware was at the top this wouldn't happen Ah, yeah, that's true. but moving the background is likely simpler than changing the name again Yeah, and we have to keep in mind that the design should be generic, as its for distribution. As it is, there is quite a bit of space for a logo. (Tiki's is rather wide.) chealer, Fivealive is problematic because the logo size could vary according to the user's site, but the theme background doesn't move. Actually, tho Fivalive is a nice design, it has been a lot of work to make it function well as a flexible theme. BTW, the default module parameter for the login form should be "popup", so it works correctly for Fivealive. That didn't get changed yet in branch 7. (would fix that overlap at the page top) would it be wise to ask the question od dev mail list? migz, yes, there'd be more people seeing it there, for sure. chibaguy: OK, I just wanted to report the situation, you know best what can be done. thanks, i'll write a mail then :) it's not really broken migz: I imagine the onus is on the in-migration software to provide solutions; devs aren't interested in easing the way out, I suppose. ;-) onus? ah, the responsibility for it. I guess it's odd that there is more left margin for the logo then margin at bottom right - but the right margin is variable ^^ yeah, one's duty. i get it now :) so Tiki has some incoming scripts, but not out-migration. for an example, if we wanted to migrate from xwiki to tiki would it be possible? chibaguy: I don't remember how the login form works in Tiki 7 migz, I haven't heard of anything specific for xwiki, although there was a kind of generic wiki transition script at one time (probably not up to date anymore). chealer, it should be just like in tiki 6, such as at the tiki.org sites. ok, thanks for info :) but you can specify the appearance as a module parameter: popup, site header (as your site shows) or, uh, regular (like the module box). chibaguy: hum, I changed the parameter, but it's showing odd now chibaguy: can you refresh my site? there's just a small bar at the top chealer, I believe that's caused by the module parameter that is given to the login box by default. These position-related parameters should be removed, because the stylesheet has the info already. I'm not sure where default module parameters are stored. In other words, the modules that are activated in a new install by default need some parameters, like nobox=y, but they shouldn't have position parameters because these vary according to theme, and the stylesheets set the properties per theme. chibaguy: defaults can be defined in a module's info function, but often the module function assumes a value if it's empty I mentioned to Jonny about removing these parameters, but he didn't get to it. chibaguy: OK. same thing for quickadmin? yes. chibaguy: that solved the login box issues but only made quickadmin worst. there's overlap with search and it seems unusable ...unless I need to do that with search too? I didn't look at the module upgrade scripts yet chealer, I refreshed your page and it looks ok to me. (re login and search) ah, I can't see quickadmin of course) chibaguy: oh, yes, because you're not logged in. try admin 12345 I see. quickadmin should be in the top modules zone, not in the topbar zone. chibaguy: it appears to be, unless you just moved it? Hmm, something wrong with the positioning, looks like. in the css. it only has a right: 10px position, no top or bottom position. I set that but apparently didn't commit. hmm, assigning modules seems to not work in my local site at the moment. Anyway, I'll take care of the quickadmin position as soon as things are working here again. chibaguy: on trunk or 7.x? I have both (7.x in /tiki/7.x/) both are up-to-date 7.x is where I want to admin modules. My site may be not up to date. ah, assigning the module by the new drag and drop method worked. Using the "New module" link didn't, even though they both produce the same popup form to submit. (Unless my svn-up in progress was also a factor.) tikiwiki: 03chibaguy * r34239 10/branches/7.x/styles/fivealive.css: [FIX] Top position missing for Quick Admin module (thanks Chealer). In the Fivealive theme, I wonder if the white area (and border to its right) should actually be the logo background image. Then it could move left or right depending on the logo image size. That'd be better for user site flexibility. hmmm chibaguy: OK, my 7.x is good now. thank you, I'm going to bed. BTW...I hope it's getting better in Tokyo thanks, chealer, yes, things are getting better. good night. Hm, it kinda sucks that Fivealive won't work for sites without some CSS fiddling (in admin modules parameters) for the logo image and site title text, but it's hard to figure out a method for things to work automatically due to the tapering of the border between the white and colored areas, etc. do we have a function that takes a string and transforms it in a correct urlencode url (split params and urlencode the param values...) with sefurl ... it does not seem very easy New Forum Posts: alarm field in tracker? - http://tiki.org/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?forumId=4&comments_parentId=41173 tikiwiki: 03lphuberdeau * r34240 10/trunk/tiki-send_newsletters.php: [FIX] Attachment handling in newletters, sometimes lost, sometimes failed to restore when sending from draft tikiwiki: 03lphuberdeau * r34242 10/trunk/ (4 files in 3 dirs): [NEW] Optionally generate a mailto link to allow sending through an external client using the BCC field tikiwiki: 03sylvieg * r34243 10/branches/proposals/6.x/templates/ (tiki-view_tracker.tpl tracker_item_field_input.tpl): [bp/r34153,34154][FIX]tracker: user selector with no options default to none Isn't "Display page name as page title" to show the page name as an h1 title on the page? Theme switcher module fails to switch theme about half the time for anonymous at themes.t.o. half the time or every second time? ah, sometimes immediately (first try), more often, after two or three times (page refreshes). I mean a page refresh activated by the switch-theme attempt. Just took four attempts to switch from Snow to Darkroom. Darkroom -> Coelesce, first try succeeded. Coelesce -> absE, I gave up trying after 6 failures. Switched from Coelesce to Eatlon, and absE theme activated. ;-) maybe should rename theme switcher to "random theme" ;-) would really need one funny implementation but again, that might just be the case when logged in, there doesn't seem to be a problem. lphuberdeau: commit 34178: you said 'always storing categories in the field as well' .
