I had a E7500 (Duo) I changed to a Q9650 (quad) and obviously I was using before 50% of CPU and with the quad 25%. The fully explanation is that the http request launches a process which can run only on one core, so the execution duration depend only of the capability of the core which depends of the type of processor (one core) and for him, processor conception, clock, memory exchanges, caches. This seams to mean that the duration is fixed for any core2 at 3GHz and 1333 for example. So I don't understand how most of developers seams to have 1/10 time execution. The other way is for the soft to deal with parallelism launching several process by second level http request getting back the html. Sorry for the length, it is to avoid exchanges on subject already studied. sylvieg: styles/themename/option/pics/icons/icontooverride.png iirc sylvieg: look at strasa for an example - e.g. /styles/strasa/options/mono/pics/icons/ thx guys Trebly: sorry, no idea @Bernard1: Tx - be sure to write a review :-) jonnyb: ah, missed one folder, thx ;) tikiwiki: 03jonnybradley * r34443 10/tags/7.0beta2/: [REL] Tagging release ;) Trebly: on remote host i have tiki always faster than on my localhost for some reason... it takes ages to load page on localhost... maybe some glitch in Tiki... try specifying my.foo.host in /etc/resolv.conf to point to 127.0.0.1 if that helps and access your localhost tiki through that jQuery 1.6.1 is Released: http://j.mp/leBZfP Includes .attr() fixes. ColorBox 1.3.17 released. Added properties: top, bottom, left, right, fixed, data to give users more control over positioning & ajax. just copy paste from tweetdeck ;) thanks luciash - 7.x is on jquery 1.5.1 i think still - a bit close to 7.0 to change now but maybe for 7.1 ColorBox is cool, but is there a place where i can see applicable parameters in tw ? (ei: i want to get read of the popup on mouseover) hi rodrigo_sampaio - just merging back changes from the release script and there was a conflict in lang/pt-br/language.php as usual - i resolved using mine-full so it should stay the same in trunk jonnyb: ok, thanks not sure how we prevent these... i've seen you backporting stuff to 7.x occasionally, maybe the script messes stuff up? Bernard1: which popup on mouseover? Thank's but I believe that there is something else. I have a multi-ways structure for serve the pages : 1- run local : I define the url name in host file for the ref IP of Virtualhost (managed by name) so when I launches the http it loops locally 2- I have a dynhost on OVH for the same IP : So using various CNAMES I can reach by OVH my server as any server (the ascendant is limited to 1Mb/s, I don't count this time). 3- I export as a production version to OVH (export + filezilla) and run replications for test (Later when stable I work versus with the ref data on OVH database), but for dev I can't use OVH because I have a shared server (240plan) and naturally no Xdebug (any fatal error leads to blank screen). So the problem is the way for Apache-php to run an http request threated as one task one one core. You can test this by running on my server http://ld1.teawik-63r1.trebly.net , be patient. jonnyb: i have Colorbox plugin used on a tw home page to simulate pictures hanged on a wall. on mouse over it display a popup… i would like to get rid of it (and beside knowing what are the option for the Colorbox is healthy :) ). I found this "http://colorpowered.com/colorbox/" but i don't know how or what i can really use on TW One important advantage is that I can show to any developer the GUI of a development I am working on. 63r1 is 6.3. another version with my enhancements will be 63r2 ok all, 7.0 beta 2 is up on sf ready for testing - http://sourceforge.net/projects/tikiwiki/files/Tiki_7.x_Electra/7.0beta2/ tikiwiki: 03jonnybradley * r34444 10/trunk/ (71 files in 60 dirs): [MRG] Automatic merge, branches/7.x 34406 to 34442 @jonnyb: nice job on b2. i'll send out a notice shortly thanks - i've tested the .zip and .gz ones but only very briefly downloading zip right now... will test basic instll and upgrade too Recent Bug: Tracker item: #3887 - - Module Switch Language changes language of multilingual structure - http://dev.tiki.org/tiki-view_tracker_item.php?trackerId=5&itemId=3887 ok all, bye for now - have to get on with some non-tiki stuff mostly this week, will monitor emails when i can... Trebly: to avoid blank screens enable PHP error reporting on the General Admin panel Trebly: [ Temps d'exécution: 1.14 secs ] [ Mémoire utilisée: 24.75MB ] [ 290 requête à la base de données utilisés dans 0.3 secs ] looks good and fast enough Google Chrome Inspect Element Network tab says: 100 requests ❘ 55.61KB transferred ❘ 5.73s (onload: 5.73s, DOMContentLoaded: 5.52s) Thank's. I have seen your connection. It have been quick (and the disk had to restart, used max 23% CPU). So I have another problem, I am more able to look at now. I don't understand why when I run the same url from one of my computers I get on the server 10 times more CPU duration used with the same 23% capacity. So I have to find which resource locks the server, I quite test all... ...the "windows performance" measurements without finding anything. The use of one core remains but is not a problem and I have to find where is the lock. This naturally make my work very difficult and inefficient. Info: New Tiki 7 Beta Available for Download - http://info.tiki.org/article163-New-Tiki-7-Beta-Available-for-Download tikiwiki: 03sylvieg * r34445 10/branches/proposals/6.x/lib/wiki-plugins/wikiplugin_tracker.php: [FIX]missing to 34122[bp/r34121][FIX]registration: fix 27388/fill up the user tracker item if multiple groups choice with different trackers hi :) a question about tiki-jsplugin.php in 6.3 do we really need to add all plugin descriptions for not logged in users, probabely just visiting a tiki? it adds 220kb to each page req at some of my sites hi lorinc prolly not :) but if u allow anon edits, then it is there for the plugin edit icons i guess i've been tryin some speed up hacks and noticed putting nginx in front of apache and adding just simple serving off static img and js and css speeds things up a lot now i've been playing with varnish and memory caching, but its hard to do with all the cookies and stuff but these rather large, probabely unnecessary loads are simpler to handle polom Sp4rKy: thanks for identifying the commit. niclone: are you nicolas@sengena.com? hmm, $items[user].itemId is no longer valid in Tiki7 ? smarty var can i use Tiki debugger to print what Array contains ? sprint $items returns "Array" and sprint_r doesn't seem to do the trick chealer: yw luciash: If I sprint bottom_modules in trunk, the array is shown chealer: hmm, then the items array must be empty here, thanks chealer: yup? niclone: hi. are you still using Tiki? chealer: not directly, but yes chealer: why? niclone: OK. Sp4rKy found a suspicious line yesterday in tiki-register.php and identified that it came from you. could you check? it comes from http://tikiwiki.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/tikiwiki/trunk/tiki-register.php?r1=27609&r2=27608&pathrev=27609 niclone: the line is "if ($result->field == 'email' && $result->field == 'email_not_valid')" and is present in Tiki 6.3 for example niclone: the only way the condition will be true is if $result->field is not a string and converted to a TRUE boolean so most certainly that doesn't do what it was meant to do interresting :) also my comment in the next line // i'm not sure why email is a special case.. i suppose that i was trying to be compatible with a previous code without understanding it myself i'm checking this... niclone: thanks I imagine the and should be an or, or one variable is wrong yes, it seem that it should be "if ($result->field == 'email' && $result->msg == 'email_not_valid')" tikiwiki: 03sampaioprimo * r34446 10/trunk/ (4 files in 4 dirs): moving stats functions from tikilib to statslib tikiwiki: 03sampaioprimo * r34447 10/trunk/lang/pt-br/language.php: fix pt-br translation but i don't really like the test on the msg field chealer: ok, we can just drop the second test chealer: in which branch this should be changed? chealer: i don't have a local repository there, maybe can i ask you to do it ? niclone: I would say trunk grmbl, why sprint $items[0].itemId doesn't work in debugger console ? luciash: I suppose $items[0].itemId is not considered as a variable tikiwiki: 03chealer * r34448 10/trunk/tiki-register.php: tikiwiki: [FIX] Registration: special handling for email registration errors (condition would never be true from r27609) tikiwiki: on behalf of Niclone. spotted by Sp4rKy niclone: OK. did you get emails about tiki_invit, several months ago? rodrigo_sampaio: regarding your latest change to Tiki7, dev.tiki.org is still Tiki 6 ah thanks, i was trying to commit, but my login was not accepted chealer: ahh, thanks maybe i'm nto anymore registered as a dev? chealer: is this preview issue a known tiki 6 bug? niclone: sf.net reseted everyone's password a few months ago niclone: there was a security issue at SourceForge several months ago, you should have received a mail titled "SourceForge.net SCM Validation Notification" 2011-02-11 15:12 ah yes, i remember maybe I should read it :) rodrigo_sampaio: I remember preview issues started a long time ago, quite possibly Tiki 6, but I don't know. chealer: yes, I have the same impression rodrigo_sampaio: by default you can put HTML is a blog post :-? chealer: yes, maybe not the best behavior but it is the default one until 6.x chealer: actually until something changed a few months ago in 7.x chealer: a option would be good to switch HTML on and off but apparently the behavior changed unintentionally are there is no such an option to turn HTML on is there a way to write "hooks" for tikiwiki, for exemple to have some method called when a user register/modifies its parameters, etc etc ? Sp4rKy: via Trackers yes, o'wise not afaik luciash: hmm, I can do something else than sending an email ? mhh, it seems to be simpler to directly patch tiki code :p maybe yes :) luciash: I just want to get the username , email, password, name whenever a user is created/updated !help You can get a more complete list of commands that work with this bot at http://tiki.org/TikiBot . Sp4rKy: u can get notification mails with user trackers I don't want mails :p mhh I'm not sure what is the goal of create_user_ldap in lib/userslib.php I seems to be a method to add a user into the ldap, but I thought it was not implemented Sp4rKy: what kind of notification do you want then ? SMS ? Send it by Tiki user messages ? ... no idea about ldap luciash: my final goal is to sync them with ldap ;) so I don't need all modifications, only login, password and email ah, so you need copy of the data ? yep :) you can get them from trackers too, there's export to csv for example mhh a simple way is to hack userslib.php and to put datas in some file not sure about password though, it is username+something in md5 but maybe tracker will be a cleaner way :) yeah:/ I need password in plaintext (cause it's not the same hash used in ldap) hmm, dangerous but if on intranet it shouldn't be problem yes the tikiwiki and the ldap are on the same machine i think there was an option to sotre passwords in plaintext in Tiki as well s/sotre/store/ I prefer not to keep them as plaintext they will be stored only before the cron update the ldap so maybe 1 or 2 minutes, not more hum, that's over my knowledge and skillz i fear :) I'll write a quick hack tomorrow but for now, time to sleep, thanks for your help Sp4rKy: good night
