I had a E7500 (Duo) I changed to a Q9650 (quad) and obviously I was using before 50% of CPU and with the quad 25%.
The fully explanation is that the http request launches a process which can run only on one core, so the execution duration depend only of the capability of the core which depends of the type of processor (one core) and for him, processor conception, clock, memory exchanges, caches.
This seams to mean that the duration is fixed for any core2 at 3GHz and 1333 for example.
So I don't understand how most of developers seams to have 1/10 time execution.
The other way is for the soft to deal with parallelism launching several process by second level http request getting back the html.

Bernard1: which popup on mouseover? ***: radek82 has joined #tikiwiki Trebly: <luciash> Thank's but I believe that there is something else. I have a multi-ways structure for serve the pages :
1- run local : I define the url name in host file for the ref IP of Virtualhost (managed by name) so when I launches the http it loops locally
2- I have a dynhost on OVH for the same IP : So using various CNAMES I can reach by OVH my server as any server (the ascendant is limited to 1Mb/s, I don't count this time).
3- I export as a production version to OVH (export + filezilla) and run replications for test (Later when stable I work versus with the ref data on OVH database), but for dev I can't use OVH because I have a shared server (240plan) and naturally no Xdebug (any fatal error leads to blank screen).
So the problem is the way for Apache-php to run an http request threated as one task one one core.
You can test this by running on my server http://ld1.teawik-63r1.trebly.net , be patient. Bernard1: jonnyb: i have Colorbox plugin used on a tw home page to simulate pictures hanged on a wall. on mouse over it display a popup… i would like to get rid of it (and beside knowing what are the option for the Colorbox is healthy :) ).

a question about tiki-jsplugin.php in 6.3
do we really need to add all plugin descriptions for not logged in users, probabely just visiting a tiki?
it adds 220kb to each page req at some of my sites luciash: hi lorinc
prolly not :)
but if u allow anon edits, then it is there for the plugin edit icons i guess lorinc: i've been tryin some speed up hacks and noticed
putting nginx in front of apache and adding just simple serving off static img and js and css speeds things up a lot
now i've been playing with varnish and memory caching, but its hard to do with all the cookies and stuff
but these rather large, probabely unnecessary loads are simpler to handle ***: _qP has joined #tikiwiki

niclone: the line is "if ($result->field == 'email' && $result->field == 'email_not_valid')" and is present in Tiki 6.3 for example
niclone: the only way the condition will be true is if $result->field is not a string and converted to a TRUE boolean
