with 6.x (6.3) or 7.x (7.0b2) when I connect to the homepage for visitors, I get on OVH 0.90s time and on my server 1.7s it is good.
If I just login in automatic (cookie) to homepage defined for admins groups the ration of time between OVH and my server is stable but the exec time on OVH increases to 12,5s (on my server 23s). This is too much (and we observe the same time to simply change of page in a wiki). There is a trik somewhere, not in the server parameters but in the tiki parameters that I define into my application. I
try to locate it
For the moment I have not been successful in Eclipse implementation (no time and can't run on my portable because of lack of memory 2Go on XP). Nevertheless I wonder if Future enhancement could not be to make so tiki will hold multithreading. This could, may be, done using ajax. Actually an http request uses only one core of a processor. So if we have multiprocessors, we are just able to answer to multiple requests.
Note :The difference between OVH and my server is that I am with a CORE2 quad at 3.0 GHz while OVH is running XEON, the ration is quite giving by benchmarks of processors.
I come back to multithread : It is possible that the ajax request could run a new tread on a second core, and so on. Then if for example we use ajax to fill a calendar we get parallelism. The idea is then to always fill modules data and upgrades of these data with ajax features. I began a few month ago to make this to change pages of articles. I had no time to end but I could create new div...
...id for the summary and for pages. So with a calculated id I could get only the content of a page jumping on a lot of treatments. think so. chealer: overseer: use the bugs and wishes tracker on dev.tiki.org
ohertel: what level is it set to? is PHP display_errors enabled (guess not, and I guess we don't want it permanently but this calls for it) ohertel: I think it breaks before. chealer: overseer: there is no need to back up the software unless you customized it. if you lose the stock software, you can simple download it again ohertel: but there is no output in apache or php log. chealer: ohertel: before what? ohertel: before sending out the error data. ^^ chealer: ohertel: the Tiki error reporting? presumably so we should check the PHP configuration, display_errors and error_reporting ohertel: error_reporting = E_ALL
damn shit, i hate it if stuff just doesnt work without any error output. chealer: ohertel: you're not alone. I had that a couple of weeks ago, then the error just went away...
ohertel: so what about display_errors? ohertel: what's this bot_logo_code div from?
The stuff is usually enabled, I didnt change it. chealer: ohertel: if display_errors is usually enabled, that's not great in production ohertel: I think it gets overridden by tiki settings. chealer: ohertel: bot_logo_code is a new user module in Tiki 7
(see patch 20110201)
ohertel: it shouldn't. error_reporting but not display_errors ohertel: where do I find that module?
I get errors with an invalid test php: http://tiki.org/x.php
but nothing at all from tiki. chealer: ohertel: in tiki_user_modules I guess?
ohertel: comment the set_error_handler() in lib/setup/error_reporting.php ohertel: I think we should add stuff like ./debug.sh on|off to make debugging of a broken/not working easy to handle. ***: Tiki|bot has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 240 seconds) ohertel: Fatal error: Smarty error: [in evaluated template line 1]: syntax error: unrecognized tag: DIV(class="clearfix twfooter")
we got a broken template chealer: HUM - could the DIV plugin be disabled :-? ohertel: Tiki should NOT stop working just because a plugin is disabled ... chealer: preference wikiplugin_div
ohertel: I don't think that's a template, that looks like custom Smarty
I would search that in the database ohertel: I disabled user modules manually for now so I can log into tiki. ^^ Where is that in the admin pages again? ;) chealer: ohertel: the trace shows it's in a user module, presumably one in the footer
ohertel: "Your database requires an update to match the current Tiki version" ohertel: hm, 'div' is active ...
It ran all the scripts.... chealer: ohertel: indeed. a module that needs wiki parsing must be only Smarty-parsed
ohertel: are you sure? what does $ php installer/shell.php; output?

I can't log in to dev.tiki.org, so I'm reporting a few problems here chealer: ohertel: the guilty code is in bot_logo_code ohertel: yah, where is that? chealer: ohertel: the user module mheller: Issue: can't login to dev.tiki.org, error is XMLRPC Error: 2 - Invalid return payload: enable debugging to examine incoming payload chealer: ohertel: "Must be wiki parsed." is not checked ohertel: mheller: tw.o has trouble mheller: Issue: {INCLUDE(page=>Dynamic Filter)}{/INCLUDE} doesn't work on https://dev.tiki.org/Search+Bugs chealer: ohertel: checking that should fix, though we'd need to understand why the upgrade caused that (after we figure out the database issue I guess) ohertel: database is up to date now.
Where do I find the user modules now in tiki menu? grrr mheller: Issue: on my site (wiki.alphasoftware.com) running 7.0, there are still PHP notices in lib/core/Perms.php about Undefined index: permName, lines 183 and 227 chealer: mheller: hum. indeed.
yet INCLUDE is enabled. anyone has an idea. syntax seems valid
ohertel: still in Admin Modules, second tab ohertel: I have no adminmodules visible, as I disabled the modules stuff so I can log in to tiki.
full url would be nice. :P chealer: ohertel: tiki-admin_modules.php

Hope all is fixed now. chealer: ohertel: thanks. obviously the footer will need some work ohertel: Yah. And a minimal admin-login page would be nice too, without any includes and libs ...
where you just get some single command like: set preferences key x to y... ;) chealer: ohertel: does tiki.org update automatically? there's a pretty ugly forum bug we'll have on 7 now when creating a topic: http://tiki.org/tiki-view_forum.php?forumId=3 ***: doh123 has joined #tikiwiki ohertel: half manual chealer: hope that will be fixed soon and deployed to tiki.org soon
(super small textarea) ohertel: first I switch branch, then do svn up, and then run update script that sets perms, backups database and imports sqls. chealer: ohertel: "imports sqls"... that means you run installer.php, no?
ohertel: OK, I'll take that as manual :-) some tiki.org sites are updated automatically about every day.
ohertel: I'll try to tell you when the forum issue is fixed doh123: I'm a rather new tiki user and was having some issues, and most of the forums links and such on the website don't appear to be working... and was having some trouble on my website, and wondering where I may be able to get some info... just using normal 6.3 chealer: doh123: forums should work better since about 10 minutes ohertel: doh123: we just need to fix an issue on tw.o. try again. :)
needed doh123: forums link just links ot a blank page chealer: doh123: could you give an example? doh123: my main problem is... my buttons on my tiki site addin extra URL info.... and I hav eot manually use URLs
like if I hit to edit a wiki page its going like.... "http://myurl.com/tiki-index.php/tiki-editpage.php?page=Page+Namer"
i have to manually remove the tiki-index.php line from the URL to get the edit page to come up right ohertel: sounds weird. doh123: it was workignf ine for half aday.. i backed the database up and problems started... so I tried making a whole new database and a fresh installed from tiki 6.3 and it keeps doing the same thing ohertel: Hm, do you use the delivered .htaccess, maybe its not working for you? have to have a look. chealer: ohertel: you had use shell.php, and using the installer fixed it?

something like page that you get as 'start page' if you are logged in. doh123: the tiki user forums still won't work for me... it links me to http://tiki.org/forums but its just a blank page ohertel: hm, works for me. :-/

ok. tw.o still bugged. this sucks greatly. chealer: ohertel: could you disable the debug handler again? ohertel: did
still that error again... grrr chealer: ohertel: thanks. so did you try clearing cache? ohertel: did. now cleaning eaccellerator cache too.
doesnt help at all. chealer: ohertel: pff. do we have that code in any other user module? is that user module still set to wiki parsed ??? ohertel: yup, wiki warser still on for it.

ah ok, but broken again after cleaning caches.
So how can I get more output of which user module is getting loaded? chealer: ohertel: good question. I'm wondering why ModLib->get_user_module_content( ) doesn't show its argument
$data = $this->get_user_module_content( $mod_reference['name'] );
would be nice to see the string. other calls show a string
ah but they're include calls, and that's not an actual function ohertel: custom_center_column_header seems to be it. chealer: ohertel: there are xdebug settings to show arguments

I have removed the whole {* temp removal ... *} block. chealer: ohertel: yeah... no idea
ohertel: isn't bot_logo_code simply invalid? I see one less closing DIV tag than opening DIVs
so indeed, {DIV(class="clearfix twfooter")} is not closed and rendered literally ohertel: ^^

wrapping all the other DIV blocks chealer: ohertel: I think so, but I'm not sure if it should go completely at the end or above the HTML blurb
ohertel: presumably the Tiki 6 parser would consider it as completely at the end, so putting it there won't be a regression ohertel: hm, so where do I have to add it again? forgot where it was in at which position. :P chealer: ohertel: I guess adding it completely at the end will do (and if not, it shouldn't crash the site so we'll see) ohertel: hm, seems it works now.
So someone forgetting a {DIV} can break his tiki site easily.
Isn't there a way to have warnings instead of errors? That would be way better. chealer: in a Smarty-parsed block, yeah...
