fabricius	Diaspora seems a different building, isn't it? what you want to do with the software? we have "friendship network" as feature, but it seems to be more a debrecated feature - faced out and not actively developed	[03:45]
Snoopy	Diaspora is very Facebook-like, but it's in Alpha, buggy, and hard to install and make work. I want something with, yes, a friends network, groups and status updates. Facebook would be just fine, but I want to bring it under my control for my friends so that we can share information without worrying about Facebook or Google's privacy policies.	[03:47]
fabricius	I regret that the friendship network thing is not so much a killer in Tiki - but in the end the groupware stuff is more important for most of us ... and we all have to accept aswell, where the actual coders see their personal priorities	[03:48]

fabricius	perfect - we have image galleries, but since a while not necessary anymore, cause 'file galleries' have been further developed and take that aswell groups - tiki is very good in that and rights management, if you need that if you need groups, where people cansubscribe bythemselves or moderated groups ... and categories ever heard about workspaces? literally a combination of groups, categories and perspectives	[03:55]

fabricius	Most of the features support WYSIWYG aswell - as it still is under work of even better integration you should nor switch between WYSIWYG and WIKI-Syntax on the same existing page (itś still possible to convert) but you can freely decide, in wich page you prefer the one or the other editor/syntax	[04:03]

chibaguy	I was surprised this time to find a </div><br /><div> gets produced in html by </div><p> </p></div> So if paragraphs of text have a bottom margin for nice spacing, a plain new line becomes one line height plus the paragraph bottom margin height, ending up too much white space.	[12:30]

chibaguy	The problem is that empty lines are rendered as paragraphs. which seems like an ugly hack to me. ah, I see the problem (for me). ::Centered text:: is produced as a div with text-align: center. Then when I make an empty line it is is produced as a pragraph (and gets the standard (in my theme) 24px bottom margin. So all my consecutive lines of centered text are separated by 24px + 1 text line height (for the   inside the paragraph). Plain lines of wikitext have <br> tags as expected (although they should be <br /> syntax). I guess I shouldn't use :: ::.	[12:35]

garypondstone	ok. I am very new to tiki. my file has a function 'prefs_a960GS_list' returning the array with the name 'column_size' inside it. I put {preference name='column_size'} and that is as far as the admin page loads if I change to any other tag it is fine. I was thinking I needed to enable/add the new file I created for a pref's block somewhere else (database or another file?) I am thinking there is another way to do this since no doc's cover it? will tiki load all the files in the /lib/prefs automatically, including my new function file?	[14:40]

I am turning grey in my attempts to make this work in a wiki page for any user or group, except admin. upgraded from 7 beta to 7 and it's still not working. I've set permissions galore but no luck. 	Well, I've tried a gazzillion things to get userAgent to view the files he/she needs to download/view. tiki_p_download is checked. so is tiki_p_view_file_gallery... so i just don't get why no records are found. I'm missing something somewhere. I guess I'm going to make 24 + 2 agms .doc files into tiki pages. Wish me luck. ;)	[20:05]
