TNRR2012: tiki7 new install: tabs do not work. any ideas
chealer: TNRR2012: make sure there is no JavaScript error
TNRR2012: i have no errors which show up anywhere. can flow thru everywhere except NO tabs work
its new could i just try to reset the database?
chealer: TNRR2012: JavaScript errors don't necessarily show up anywhere obvious (depending on your browser)
TNRR2012: so being that i have nothing in the tiki except installing it and setting community profile should i delete and reinstall; or reset the dbase?
i mean tracking a bunch of stuff is kinda moot as it wouldnt be on my end as i have put nothing in it
firefox browser; ubuntu 11.04 all updates --- does same on windows7
chealer: TNRR2012: there is no guarantee any of these will help. unless you did something wrong...it's unlikely. it's quicker to check your JavaScript error log.
TNRR2012: yeah, Firefox doesn't show JavaScript errors (by default)
TNRR2012: so where to find that or just google it?
chealer: TNRR2012: check Firefox's Error console
TNRR2012: all kinds of stuff: jquerry not defined, tikitabs not defined, setcookie not defined
shouldn't all that stuff happen out of the box? had no issues w/tiki 6.3
chealer: TNRR2012: that's not normal what is the first error? do you have Firebug?
TNRR2012: first error line 290 jquerry is undefined
yeah i have firebug
chealer: TNRR2012: check for errors in the Network tab
TNRR2012: blank
all kinds of lineouts and stuff. im just gonna reinstall as i dont have the patience
chealer: TNRR2012: if you mean the tab is blank, reload the problematic page
TNRR2012: no the network stuff is blank whereas the html shows the html
chealer: TNRR2012: yes, I'm talking about the Network tab. it shouldn't be blank, reload the page to see
TNRR2012: normally it shows a bunch of 200 OK-s
TNRR2012: miles of data
everything ok
chealer: TNRR2012: is the site Internet-addressable? can we see?
TNRR2012: sure http://www.offgridops.org i have the option of https
if thedre is a way to pm u a password i will
***: nkoth has quit IRC (Quit: nkoth)
chealer: TNRR2012: so we need a password to see the problem?
TNRR2012: to log in yeah
chealer: TNRR2012: well if we need to login, you can send me the password in private, yes
TNRR2012: how to do that? click ur name? i run xchat
did it
chealer: TNRR2012: hum, what URL do I have to use? that's WordPress
TNRR2012: ah sorry http://offgridops.org/opcente3r
opcenter
http://offgridops.org/opcenter
chealer: TNRR2012: OK, at what URL do you see the problem for example?
TNRR2012: the site: http://offgridops.org/opcenter when i go into admin to set stuff up i can use NO tabs
odd now i can
chealer: TNRR2012: same for me on http://offgridops.org/opcenter/tiki-admin.php?page=general
TNRR2012: is this just a freak in the system or latency or?
yes sir
never had this happen in all the years (since tiki 3.x) i've used tiki
sorry for the hassles but i guess now it might be something for me to monitor and report on to make sure a) either its my host; or b) its in the code?
chealer: hard to say without having seen the problem
TNRR2012: i mean using the firebug it WAS reporting that there were all kinds of issues, so i guess the ? becomes is it on my end or the codes.
the error console is blank now so i guess if u folks want me to do anything let me know but as it works i am happy and appreciate ur time ;)
