why?: so many open doors and sofas around Europe? :-)
jonnyb: yes, was showing people trackers at RMLL
xavi: ah, ok, nice

xavi: he he, looks like jonnyb at full speed!
jonnyb: hopefully some new tiki users, yes
xavi: I'm afraid I was the first one to report some issue with tiki 7 rc1
PluginR is kind-of-broken right now with Tiki 7.x
my first attempt with tiki7... and unsuccessful
parsing of "<" changed , it seems
jonnyb: yes, i had a play with the code plugin last night
xavi: code plugin seems ok, at least in my tests in the lasth our
(it was defective on dev.tiki.org yesterday, but ok with updated svn in my localhost today)
jonnyb: looks like the first time you save the page it's ok, then if you re-edit it, the > become > etc in the source
xavi: ah, ok, I'll try editing again
in my localhost
jonnyb: i'll look into it - hope i can fix it for 7.1 final
oh? is ok for you now on 7.x?
it might depend on allow_html etc settings
xavi: it's ok with plugin code, but it's not ok with PluginR (< converted into < , and thus, R fails)
well, the issue showed up with just a new blank tiki install, and applying the r_test profile
which doesn't touch any prefs for allow_html settings, afaik: http://profiles.tiki.org/r_test
as it used to work with tiki 3, 4, 5 & 6
so it looks like a regression to me
jonnyb: ok, will test - do i need the "R" thing installed for this?
xavi: yes, I'm afraid so, you need to test on a server with the R engine installed in the server, and pluginR mod installed also
mmmm....

but maybe if i fix the re-encoding issue on {code} the r one will fix too?

xavi: jonnyb, one question while the checkout to tiki7 finishes (it takes a while):
jonnyb: hmm?
xavi: do you know the syntax to indicate in a profile the value of an item in a dropdown selection?
ome way to indicate that "Dynamic variables" (wiki_dynvar_style, under "Admin > Text area > General Settings") have to be set to "Double (%%varname%%)"
s/ome/some
the option at the dropdown was "double" (accoding to firebug)
wiki_dynvar_style=double ?
wiki_dynvar_style: double ?
I'm used to y or n as the value for the parameters in profiles...
jonnyb: never really used dynvars
maybe they just don't work in profiles?
did you try it first in a wiki page?
xavi: try in a wiki page?
they do work. My doubt is about how to indicate in a profile the value for a dropdown setting
never mind, it's not that critical. I'll dig in profiles.tiki.org (maybe it's documented somewhere) or ask the list if needed in a few days
ok, tiki7 install finished: http://r-help-es.ourproject.org/tiki7/
now applygin r_test profile there
jonnyb: not sure how you mean a "dropdown setting"
xavi: the value of an eleection from all the options shown at a drop down box
there are 3 options. I mean, one of them
jonnyb: in a tracker field?
re-coffee - brb
xavi: no, at an admin panel: "Admin > Text area > General Settings: Dynamic variables"
ok, jonnyb, error reproduced here: http://r-help-es.ourproject.org/tiki7/testing
and it works in proposals/6x: http://r-help-es.ourproject.org/testing
under tiki7, the error says: Error: object "x" not found
because the R script generated should contain:
x<-1:10
but it contains, instead:
x<-1:10
-: jonnyb checks
changi: hi folks
xavi: I can grant you ssh access to the server and tiki site
jonnyb: polom changi
xavi: hi changi
changi: plugin R parse issue ?
xavi: tiki parse issue, and PluginR complains
PluginR worked without issues with tiki3, 4, 5 and 6
so either some change in behavior happened in Tiki7, or there is a non-intended bug somewhere in tiki7
changi: isn't it linked with sanatized thing
s/with/to
xavi: no idea, this happens on a basic tiki7 rc1 install, and applying the simple r_test profile

In a months I'm in a conference in UK to show PluginR for Tiki (for R users worldwide), some of them presumably will try to test it with current Tiki stable branch, and it will fails as Tiki 7.x is right now

xavi: changi: yes, after some hack added by jonnyb in parallel in the last hour
I 'm just checking that the hack in PluginR is backwards compatible with Tiki 6 LTS...
jonnyb: xavi: i also fixed the way the wiki parsing is handled to suit 7.x, so that param will probably change or break
you'll probably need to run two version of it - pre 7.x and post

jonnyb: pages all seem to be stored as encoded html now, and it's not decoded for plugin input anymore (was in 6.x)

chibaguy: xavi recommended to ask you my Q. from earlier this dy: Is there a feature to incude eg. the first 300 chars from the latest blogpost on a wikipage (like with listpages for wiki pages)?
chibaguy: ah, no, I couldn't find such a thing. There is a new textarea in blog posts called "Excerpt", but wikiplugin_bloglist isn't updated to use it.
wikiplugin_bloglist will display the latest post(s) in a wiki page, but posts the whole thing.
I made a workaround by putting a div in the blog post that contains most of the post (not the first part). There is a CSS rule to hide this div when inside the wikiplugin_bloglist.
It works well but the blog author has to make the DIV tag manually each time.
The best solution would be to update wikiplugin_bloglist but I don't know how.
coaboa: ok that what I thought too. thx.
the div: {DIV(id="for-front-page")}Blogcontent{DIV}
sowhat like this?
Trebly: <chibaguy> Hi, Do you think it is useful. For articles I use copy-paste, It is sure that some external link will not be solved. For wiki structures it is an heavy job (Create structure and copy past each page). The main use is when you have an operational site living while you do an upgrade (3?3 to 7.0 for example which need time. You need to iport 'objects' from the old to the new. Because...
chibaguy: Well, I made it like "The intro part of the blog post is here...{DIV(class="mainpartofblogpost")}main part of blog post.{DIV} and then made the rule .wikiplugin_blogpost .mainpartofblogpost. {display:none;}.
So the main part doesn't display in the plugin and the rule is ignored in the blog post page.
coaboa: ah ok, thx. mixed hiding ith displaying ;-)
Trebly: ...they have lived a time with parallels changes (content for the old one, parameters and config for the new version.
chibaguy: Trebly, could the 3.3 database be updated to 7.1 the standard way (tiki-install.php)?

***: radek82 has joined #tikiwiki
chibaguy: Possibly I made a config mistake in the tracker but I can't find it. I checked the doc.t.o example and reproduced it ok, but my own tracker isn't showing the subchoices correctly.
If nobody else is having this problem (especially in 7.1) I'll keep looking for my mistake.
Trebly: <chibaguy> I could, I don't remember all details (I have to check, I kept the whole way). I this case I believe that I have used intermediate 4.1. And after import by 6.3 installer, I cleaned the UTF8 double encoding troubles manually
xavi: about "(14:39:04) Trebly: Hi, Everybody, What's about export-import wiki structures and articles from one site to another ?"...
@ Trebly: you need to use Tiki Communications (send receive objects)
it's called something like this in admin panels
and you need xmlrpc enabled also, afaik
it works in 6.4 but probably not in 6.3 (there was an issue fixed by sylvie between those versions, afair)
and it does work in 7.x, afaik
at least for structures. I don't know for articles
my 2 cents
@ Trebly: http://doc.tiki.org/Communication+Center
Trebly: <xavi> thanks. I am going to try and test. Most of time we have to copy wki pages, wiki structures and articles and sometime to get old forum and blogs.

quick question: how can I check for the Tiki version installed from a wikiplugin?
s/for/
changi?
I mean, PluginR will behave one way in Tiki7+, but something needs to be slightly different for backwards compatibility...
if there was a way to add that in an if clause....
Trebly: <xavi> I think too. It is in my opinion fundamental for who have to manage sites and upgrade. There are trick and difficulties because of : 1- Encoding, must use tiki syntax 2- links : check validity and upgrade to the new context sometime upgrade the content, but it is normal. The main problem is to never get errors.

tikiwiki: in case thigs are too different, which on the contrary, 7.1 and 6.4 seems pretty
tikiwiki: similar on the way to parse data (and different from Tiki <6). Only some issue
tikiwiki: still on Tiki7 when wikisyntax param is set to 1.
changi: lphuberdeau: will fix my other mistake
lphuberdeau: generally, you don't really need to check for isset in smarty templates
there are so many notices in there anyway, one more does not hurt
solution needs to be solved upstream

-: jonnyb is actually glad admin/general has broken locally for him in trunk as he's been trying to trap this bug for several versions
changi: personnaly i hate notice
lphuberdeau: how do you want to do solved that upstream ?
lphuberdeau: the php code generating the values inconsistently has to be fixed

TNRR2012: trackers location feature: so this new OSM feature removes the ability to convert the address into geo (x,y) or am i missing somethin?
i run tiki 6.3 on localhost and the googlemaps allows the conversion of addy into geolocation for the map
and tiki7 on my host and cannot seem to do this
lphuberdeau: there should be a link under the map to input an address, however that won't add the marker for you, just get you to the right location
***: changi is now known as changi|away
lphuberdeau: still work in progress there
TNRR2012: ah but an EXCELLENT work! y'all are doing a great job!

xavi: jonnyb: you wrote in the pluginr code, after the parsing of the content: "probably need some parsing options here? like is_html maybe"
and yes, when param wikisyntax=1, then some <pre ></pre> tags are displayed on the page, instead of parsed as html by the browser...
jonnyb: hi xavi, true...
xavi: any tip on how to avoid this issue?
jonnyb: hmm, would have expected it the other way round...
try $tikilib->parse_data($ret, array('is_html'=>true)) maybe?
lphuberdeau: typically, enclosing in ~np~ ~/np~ works for most plugins
calling parse_data from within a plugin is almost always wrong
***: GillesM has joined #tikiwiki
xavi: jonnyb, you got it. it works
jonnyb: spooky :P
xavi: lphuberdeau: yes, we had pluginR with that, but today I changed behavior since there was an issue with encoded content
jonnyb: lphuberdeau: oh? i thought that was outmoded now - sorry
when we had the 6.x style ~np~ tags they seemed to appear on the page
xavi: and thanks to jonnyb's comments, PluginR is back working in 7.x (besides on 3-6.x, which already was)
-: xavi have to rush away
xavi: so commit in short removing some dirty leftovers of mine in pluginR....
s/commit/committing
jonnyb, same pluginR files seem to work nowadays in 6.4 and 7.1 (!)
lphuberdeau: lots of mythology about parser issues
xavi: mythology? :-) who knows...
lphuberdeau: did you see the issue I reported on dev.t.o/Tiki7 rc1 ?
anyway, nevermind, I have to go in short
lphuberdeau: probably not
***: Trebly has joined #tikiwiki
lphuberdeau: it's normal for plugins to receive data encoded that way, the plugin needs to decode it if they need the raw form

xavi: lphuberdeau: quick question about profiles....
how can I indicate that "Dynamic variables" (wiki_dynvar_style, under "Admin > Text area > General Settings") have to be set to "Double (%%varname%%)" in a profile?
wiki_dynvar_style: double
?
I mean, the value from the option in the drop down seems to be "double" (according to the html source)
and the setting seems to be wiki_dynvar_style

do people really need to exchange the "align" in all their {IMG}-tags to "imalign" to keep the layout of their site after upgrading?!
all images that were align=center now have their left border be in the middle of the page instead of being correctly centered
changing align to imaglign "fixes" that

align was used previously with the right outcome
doesn't do the same thing in 6.x
seems to be because of the div around the image, which also holds the image desc

(trying to reproduce)

if I set imalign instead, the whole things goes to the left completely
-: amette is scratching his head
nkoth: is this online?
amette: oh, right, it goes all the way to the left with imalign, but the centering doesn't work
nkoth: yes, one moment -> PM
