Does anyone know why, in a svn-upped branch 7 installation, a javascript inside an HTML plugin would be getting sanitized ("sc<x>ript"). I want to find that sanitizer and rip its f*cking heart out.
Sorry, but it's at the end of a long trail: convert old Hi8 video to mp4, convert to flv, upload, try to play, log in as admin, find "sanitized" aka screwed up plugin syntax.
To me, sanitizer probably serves a useful purpose at somebody's site somewhere, but for me in most cases (one of only a few trusted editors usually involved) sanitizer is like the movie monster that you think is dead but rises again at the closing credits.
I can use "<script>" in wiki pages in some/most branch 7 sites so wonder where in the admin options the wooden stake can be found.
[10:42]
***jonnyb has joined #tikiwiki [10:50]
chibaguyI don't remember having to explicitly kill sanitzer in branch 7 so wonder what the deal is at this particular site. [10:51]
Um, actually I'm getting "sanitized" in my localhost branch 7 now. Crips.
Now that I think about it, the branch 7 site that I have <script> working in wiki pages hasn't been updated for a few months - I was afraid of something breaking.
[10:57]
***ricks99 has joined #tikiwiki [10:59]
chibaguyHi ricks99 and jonnyb. Any clues on curring overzealous sanitizer in branch 7? [11:00]
jonnybhi chibaguy [11:00]
chibaguycurring -> curing, but maybe curring too, if that means something destructive. [11:00]
ricks99g'morning... no idea at all [11:00]
chibaguyI wish there was a simple gui for that menace. [11:01]
jonnybhadn't noticed it - you getting lots of <x>'s everywhere?
you have example page (source)?
[11:01]
chibaguyWell, I'm getting one in {HTML()} <script>...{HTML}
This is a flowplayer script in a wiki page.

[11:05]

Actually that code works at http://friendsofannie.org/Video%20test
[11:05]
jonnybseems ok on my local 7.x svn too [11:06]
chibaguyWhich is branch 7 but a few months old, but doesn't in current branch 7.
It gets the <x> now.
[11:06]
jonnybnot for me here [11:07]
chibaguyOh, hmm. [11:07]
jonnybjonnyb svn up's [11:07]
chibaguyIs it possible it appears for a configuration reason?
I mean is there an option that turns it on and off that I'm triggering inadvertantly?
[11:07]
jonnybdon't think so [11:08]
chibaguyI turned off HTMLPurifier because it isn't compatible with HTML5, if that makes any difference. [11:08]
jonnybjust svn up'ed and re-edited that html, seem fine here still [11:09]
chibaguyHmm, I just svn up'ed the site I'm trying to use it on, and it gets sanitized there.
Also here locally.
But I'll up here again just in case.
[11:10]
jonnybmost odd
aha, just set allow_html to on for this page and it gets messed up
[11:10]
chibaguyIt is, because I've been messing around with scripts in wikitext on and off lately with no problems, too. So was surprised to encounter this.
oh.
[11:11]
jonnybis this wysiwyg?
(why would you use the html plugin inside an html page?)
[11:11]
chibaguyAt that site, I didn't turn on HTML globally.
(I think was the situation. I'll check.)
(Referring to the site where it _is_ working.)
Oh, user error, I have both Allow HTML and an HTML plugin on the page, but the script does work ok.
In the case where the script is sanitized...
...well, the same actually. Both Allow HTML globally, and the plugin. I'll get rid of the plugin first off.
Well, the good news is, if I turn on Allow HTML globally, and turn in off on the Properties tab of the specific wiki edit page, the <script> doesn't get sanitized. The bad news is the HTML displays as HTML syntax rather than being parsed.
[11:12]
jonnybhmmm, not ideal [11:27]
chibaguyIf i put the plugin back in, the script seems to be intact (at the site where it was sanitized before). So this is a combination of Allow HMTL globally, Enable HTML off on the page properties tab, and HTML plugin. [11:29]
jonnybso if allow html global is off, it actually uses html everywhere?
sounds wrong
[11:30]
chibaguyNo, Allow HTML globally is on.
but off on the individual page's Properties tab.
Then the plugin is used. If I don't use the plugin, the HTML syntax just shows as code.
[11:34]
jonnybthat sounds correct then
either you use wiki syntax with plugins or html. mixing them will cause problems
[11:36]
chibaguyI don't get it. If I set Allow HTML globally, I just get HTML code displayed on the wiki page. That isn't right, is it?
http://cunningham-lee.com/tiki-index.php?page=At+SJs+1991
[11:39]
jonnybyou need to set it on each page individually too i think [11:39]
ricks99@chibaguy: The page's setting will override the global setting. [11:40]
chibaguyWell, that's the case I can't confirm because it gets sanitized for me.
(When both global and per-page HTML is enabled, the dreaded <x> arrives.)
[11:40]
ricks99Hm :( [11:41]
chibaguyIf I undo the per-page HTML, and use an HTML plug for that script, etc., then it works ok.
But as you say, this isn't really the way it should work.
OK, this is also interesting: right now when I approved the plugin, I noticed just as I clicked approve, that "<script>" is "<scr<x>ipt>" but the script is still working.
[11:41]
ricks99is it only <x> in the preview? [11:45]
chibaguyYes, ricks99, I was just checking the page source. It is sanitized only in the plugin approve preview.
(In this instance. Earlier it really has been sanitized IIRC.)
[11:47]
ricks99hm. as designed? [11:48]
chibaguyI have no idea. I would expect the preview to be accurate, if it's to be meaningful. [11:49]

flaytosI made an aplication witch takes the content of the wikipages from the data base and write it onti html files in order to make an offline version of it; but in the database the content isn't in html format
where is the function for translate it to html format?
[12:41]
ricks99correct. tiki stores the files in wiki format
however, i *think* when caching pages, tiki stores the page as html
[12:42]

lphuberdeauwell, the controller part is just the bit that handles all of the ajax requests
utilities were intially in the controller, but that class grew too large and those functions could be re-used elsewhere as well
and essentially contains functions with a less retarded interface to trklib
[13:24]
jonnybso there's lib/trackers, lib/core/Tracker and lib/core/Services/Tracker so far [13:30]
lphuberdeauyeah, all different purposes if you ask me
but it's really a direct consequence of not putting everything in the base .php file and inline in the tracker lib
more breaking down, more code locations
[13:30]
jonnybnot forgetting the templates of course :P [13:31]
lphuberdeauthe services could probably swap around and go under tracker as well

displaying "Loading..." and loading-light.gif
Nothing else on the whole screen.
[15:37]
lphuberdeauchibaguy, I've seen a bug once with the user page prefix being empty causing all sorts of trouble [15:38]
jonnybhmm, hi horky - sounds like you picked the mobile theme maybe shouldn't be on that list really) [15:38]
horkyprobably
I've also noticed that the 'preview theme' graphic wasn't working for it.
But I've hit apply anyway :(
[15:39]
chibaguylphuberdeau: that would affect even a page that isn't a userpage? [15:39]
lphuberdeauthat's the thing, the empty prefix would make it confuse any page with a user page ;) [15:39]
horkySo can I edit one of the files to reset it to the default theme? [15:40]
jonnybhorky: try going to tiki-switch_theme.php?theme=fivealive.css [15:40]
horkyIt redirected me to tiki-index.php, still says loading and displays the loading animation. [15:41]
jonnybcan you get into your database? (with phpmadmin or something) [15:42]
horkyyes [15:42]
jonnybhold on... [15:43]
Bernard1hi all, http://doc.tiki.org is broken ?
"Tiki is unable to connect to the database"
ah it is back
[15:44]
jonnybtry: UPDATE `tiki_preferences` SET `value` = 'fivealive.css' WHERE `tiki_preferences`.`name` = 'style'; [15:45]
horky1 row affected. ( Query took 0.1027 sec )
Still loading and gif.
[15:46]
jonnybhmm, must be cached - try restarting your browser? [15:47]
horkyI've shift-clicked the reload button.
Trying restart now.
[15:47]
chibaguylphuberdeau: I have "UserPage_" input already for userpage prefix. [15:48]
horkyjonnyb: same result [15:49]
lphuberdeaunot browser cache, most likely tiki cache
chibaguy, must be something else then

horkyhow do I clear the tiki cache? [15:50]
jonnybdo tiki-admin_system.php?do=all
(sorry about this, what a pain, i'll need to fix it - shame, looks great when you're really in mobile mode!)
[15:51]
horkythe url is now /tiki-7.1/tiki-admin_system.php?do=all and it displays loading and the gif. [15:52]
riperoI am also getting "Tiki is unable to connect to the database" from doc.tiki.org, this evening [15:52]
horkyThe title is Tiki Cache/System Admin... so I'm the right place but can't see anything. [15:53]
lphuberdeau*.tiki.org seem to be having trouble lately
I've seen multiple interruptions as well
[15:53]
chibaguyPages that existed before the upgrade were viewable by anonymous (who has global perm). But it seems a new page with no object perms isn't visible by anonymous, though I need to check further. [15:53]
lphuberdeauI wonder if changi saw anything worthy of attention in logs [15:53]
horkyjonnyb: I've opened the page in iexplore and I see stuff. [15:53]
jonnybhorky: try tiki-logout.php
yes, it's a loading thing for mobile, because it sets up everything with javascript, so the page is there just hidden
[15:53]
horkyjonnyb: I've logged out in Firefox too and now I see the default homepage.
should I login?
[15:55]
jonnybok, good - the login session hangs onto the theme pref i think [15:55]

anyway, thanks again

quick question
As admin I have a lot of menus available in the left bar, like blogs, forums, freetags, etc, but new users get only home, search and mytiki. What should I change to have new users see blogs, etc too?
I checked 'display modules to all groups always' but that didn't do it.

horkychealer: trying now
chealer: I have assigned minichat to group Registered and it worked. The standard menu on the left still contains only 4 items though, no blogs, forums, freetags, etc, only the default stuff.
hm I have an idea
blah, it didn't work
I've removed the menu, then assigned it again to both admins and registered groups.
The admins got the full menu, the registered group one has only 4 entries.
It says, name: menu, cache: 0, rows: 10, id=42, groups: admins registered. But a registered user sees a truncated menu for some reason...
[19:07]
chealerhorky: the application menu's content depends on permissions [19:17]

jcarter_hello! I'm having an issue with pages being automatically categorized. How is this done? i have the groups set to "automatically add pages edited by this user to the category", and i selected the cat which I want them to be added to, but when users in that group create pages, they remain uncategorized. is there something i am missing, or is this a bug? tiki 7 btw [20:41]

jcartersorry, I missed your post, but i actually solved it. I did have it set as default, but you dont need to use that "set uncat items edited by user to category x" perm i mentioned earlier with a default group to get them to automatically categorize. I have "categorize structure pages together" and then tiki_p_modify_object_categories, tiki_p_add_object, and tiki_p_remove_object enabled as global permissions, and its now working fine. [21:27]
