another issue with a tracker field: the instructions for the numeric field indicate decimal values can be used: "[decimals] sets the number of decimal places;
[dec_point] sets the separator for the decimal point (decimals must also be set). Use c for comma and s for space;"
But trying to input a decimal value doesn't work. "The number 2.2 is not allowed for this item. Only certain numbers are allowed for this field."
(I like that "only certain numbers" -- 12? 93? ;-) )
but anyway, how can the field be configured to allow decimal numbers?
or is this a bug? (Tiki 7)
Incidentally, the error message should maybe be something like "The number 2.2 isn't compatible with the configuration of this field."
[02:11]
If I set parameters as 1,8,,,2,c,s (same row, 8 characters, no prepend, no append, 2 decimal places, comma as decimal separator, space as thousands separator), then the submit is accepted without error message, but the data isn't saved (view item shows only the label for the field, not any data).
So I guess this is a buggy field.

***jonnyb has joined #tikiwiki [13:30]
Merbsterlphuberdeau, Problem is. we have a dropwdown list with 2 values; yes and no. If yes, show some checkboxes, if no, hide them.
But when you enter the page initially it doesn't trigger the jq stuff that hides the checkboxes (so these are shown)
[13:30]
lphuberdeaumake it get triggered on ready
when you set-up the change event, you trigger it as well... .change()
[13:31]

***Bernard has joined #tikiwiki [13:39]
Merbsterlphuberdeau, after some googling I understood what you just said.
lphuberdeau, If I just change, .change to .ready. it will hide the fields on page load allright :P
[13:40]
lphuberdeauyes, but then it won't change when you change [13:43]
Merbsterhaha exactly [13:43]
lphuberdeau$('...').change(function () { your code... }).change() [13:44]
Merbsterlphuberdeau, First you define what change should do, and afterwards you call the change function on the returned object? [13:45]
lphuberdeaujquery selectors kind of always return themselves, so you can chain them up [13:46]
Merbsterlphuberdeau, I am reading jquery tutorials now. It is needed. thank you for your pointers :) [13:48]
lphuberdeaujquery helps in many cases to get around some limitations in Tiki, so it's not time wasted [13:49]
Merbsterlphuberdeau, I have been meaning to learn jquery for quite some time. Just never got around to it before now. [13:50]
lphuberdeau, So, I define the change function on that element. and in the ready function I call the change function on that same element? [13:56]
lphuberdeauI don't think you need to worry about onready when using the JQ plugin because I think that's where it's going to happen anyway [13:57]
Merbsterlphuberdeau, Ah. so I am allready in the .ready function then it makes more sense to just call .change on the defintion. [13:58]

Merbsterlphuberdeau, SJ-Jay has a car so I drive with him. but usually I would take the train. (it's only 25 mins.) [14:09]
lphuberdeauI'm just used to commuting in terms of meters, so 40km sounds like a lot [14:11]
Merbsterlphuberdeau, I live 300m. from the trainstation and offices are 10 mins. walk.

[14:11]
BernardThe fallback is arial hebrew on MS. But it the fonts are nice and smooth in FF it tends to be a little more "stairy" on IE. lphuberdeauso the solution is not to fix the test in this case [14:24]
jonnybit's just that with five or six pages of errors it's hard to see what's going on - and that was number 1
so should "pagé" match with "pages" ?

lphuberdeauyes [14:25]
jonnybmost of the rest of the failures i have are extra <br /> in expected strings - which sounds like a wiki_paragraph issue (again) [14:26]

jonnybalmost all of them are in rodrigo_sampaio's stuff (you about?)
shouldn that be in TikiTestCase?
[14:27]

lphuberdeaurodrigo_sampaio, the 5 in search formatter are due to the smarty 3 change and the security_settings stuff [14:35]
jonnybyup - on r36447 [14:35]
rodrigo_sampaiolphuberdeau: yes [14:35]
lphuberdeauI really have no clue what to do with those as I have not looked that much into smarty3 [14:35]
mlaportechibaguy: plz shre more about web fonts [14:36]
rodrigo_sampaiolphuberdeau: I haven't checked yet what is happening. We should ask sept_7 about it. Is he online in the channel sometimes? I was planning to ask him here but I never happen to see him here. [14:37]
lphuberdeauyeah, same [14:37]
rodrigo_sampaiojonnyb: phpunit 3.4? [14:37]
jonnyb3.4.15 [14:37]
rodrigo_sampaiojonnyb: the database you use for the tests is not the same as the one you use for your local tiki installation, right? [14:38]
jonnybno, but it may have started out as one - guess i should reinstall it clean?
is that part of the tests, or the normal installer?
[14:39]
lphuberdeauflush all the installs and it will re-install it [14:40]
rodrigo_sampaiojonnyb: yes, just flush all the database content and run the test suite. it will install tiki for you. [14:40]
jonnybok thanks - when i tried that a few months ago it didn't seem to do that... [14:41]
rodrigo_sampaiojonnyb: double check lib/test/local.php to make sure it is using it's own database :)
jonnyb: yes, this is new. I did it a few months ago after you mentioned this problem to me.
[14:41]
jonnybyes, it is/was - i just happened to have one already called tiki_test
so making a completely different new one (as that's the one i use for release testing)
[14:42]
rodrigo_sampaiojonnyb: ok, let me know what you get after running the tests against a clean database
rodrigo_sampaio cross fingers
[14:43]
jonnybrunning...

rodrigo_sampaiojonnyb: can you paste them again so I can check (apparently now you have failures and errors, and before was just failures) [14:46]
chibaguyheh mlaporte: it's easy. I'm working on a Tiki 6 site, and if you go to google, you can choose the fonts and get the code. One line goes in HTML custom code and then you add the font info to the stylesheet. [14:47]
rodrigo_sampaiorodrigo_sampaio whist we were in a TikiFest so I could check that with you directly on your computer

I'll do a wiki page on it.
[14:47]
jonnybrodrigo_sampaio: can offer screen sharing of various kinds, but not sure how it might help... [14:48]
rodrigo_sampaiojonnyb: I can't use a mac :P [14:49]
chibaguymlaporte: I had the problem of a client's design using fonts that aren't the normal "safe" ones for CSS. Web fonts looks like a good solution, and I thought about your long dream to implement web fonts in Tiki. [14:49]
jonnybit's mainly just a bash shell... [14:49]
rodrigo_sampaiojonnyb: anyway what I suggest is if you want to start using the test suite start by writing tests for code you will write. I think this is the best way and you don't have to run all the suite. you can run just the tests you wrote.
jonnyb: if I have some time another day I can try to check what is happening using screen sharing.
[14:51]
jonnybyes, but if working tests are failing for me i'm not sure how it will help
thanks, yes please - nearly 4pm here and no real work done yet! ;)
[14:52]
rodrigo_sampaiojonnyb: they are probably failing due to some configuration issue. if you start writing tests you will get familiarized with phpunit and might understand why the other tests are failing. [14:53]
jonnybyes, i hope so [14:54]

[15:05]

rodrigo_sampaiojonnyb: for more about incomplete and skipped tests: http://www.phpunit.de/manual/3.5/en/incomplete-and-skipped-tests.html

jonnyb: there is a function in phpunit called expectOutputString(). it should check if the expected output was indeed generated but prevent it from being displayed.
jonnyb: apparently this is not working
[15:08]
jonnybyes, seen that [15:09]

Merbsterbut I found out lphuberdeau [17:30]
lphuberdeaumerbster, that's what you use for dev? [17:30]
Merbsterwell I have firefox installed too. But so far I have just used IE's JS debugging and setting breakpoints
and it seems my selector is wrong
because it certainly ain't iterating where I expected it to
[17:30]
jonnyblatest http://pastebin.com/8Ryq5Ecz [17:31]
MerbsterI have 15 textboxes and I want to hide all except the first, when text is entered in the first, nr. 2 should show. When I type text into nr. 2, 3 should show and so on. [17:33]
jonnybMerbster: :not(:first) should do that [17:35]
Merbsterjonnyb, I am using the JQ plugin with a tracker. it is tracker fields I am trying to hide.
jonnyb, if I paste my JQ stuff into pastebin.org wil you give it a look?
[17:36]
jonnybwhat's your selector so far? [17:37]
Merbsterpastebin coming up [17:37]
jonnybok [17:37]
Merbsterjonnyb, http://pastebin.com/hD0jNy83 <-
this is the wrong approach I think. Because I won't need any iteration. But you know how code evolves :P
anyways, the important part is the selector
I am trying to tartget the class and I verified that there's a class with that name on the page.
[17:38]
jonnybdo you know css? jq selectors are a bit similar [17:39]
Merbster2 secs jonnyb [17:39]
jonnybso you can do $("#container input") to get them all at once
sorry, i see you're doing that at the top, just not in the hideAll fn
brb
[17:39]
Merbsterjonnyb, I have a ~ in between them [17:42]
jonnybhmm, what a ~ i wonder
have you found http://api.jquery.com/browser yet?
ah right - siblings
[17:44]
Merbsterjonnyb, well the sibling stuff didn't do as I expected, but your method worked how I expected the other one to work :P
So now I know the collection of textboxes is correct.
Then I want to add a keyup event on each textbox that says to show the next textbox (in context to itself)
[17:46]
jonnybthis works for me to hide the inputs: $(".wikiplugin_tracker input:not(:first)").hide() [17:48]
Merbsterjonnyb, I can hide them ok. but I need it to dynamically figure out what textbox to show "next" depending on the textbox that currently has they keyup event. [17:49]
jonnybyou using 7.x i guess? it's a bit different in trunk now - shame, each rows should be in something [17:49]
Merbsterjonnyb, I am using 7.1 currently.
It's not the show and hide that's the problem. it's getting the input text elements back out and calling show on them
[17:50]
jonnybyou can use $(this).next() to get that - and $(this).next("input") for instance to get the next input
yes... in 7.x they're in a table, so you can do it by hiding the table rows (tr)
[17:51]
Merbsterjonnyb, I will test it out with the textboxes :P [17:53]
lphuberdeautrying to figure out an issue related to that smarty_security
I can't really believe how ugly the smarty code is
[17:53]
jonnybyou can use $(this).parents("tr:first").next("tr").show()
lphuberdeau: i have a patch of where i gave in - i'll pastebin it
[17:54]
lphuberdeauI have pretty much all fixed, except that now it won't find pagination_links [17:55]
jonnybexactly where i gave in ;) [17:55]

[18:06]

jonnybtry breaking on the the keyup line to see if you're getting anything [18:11]
Merbsterjonnyb, what property on the $(this) object should I look at? [18:12]
jonnyb$(this)[0] should be the DOM element [18:13]
Merbsterjonnyb, I don't know how to access the contents of the array through IE's JS debugger. But I can see that the element of $(this) has the name of the first textbox [18:16]

fabriciusyou did type to your browser this link: http://doc.tiki.org clicked enter and got the same error message? [19:02]
AldenisZenNo, it was from a help dialog. [19:07]
fabriciusI found some ssl tick boxes in example.com/tiki-admin.php - so 99% yes, you can ( I did notyet use ssl) [19:07]
AldenisZenthanks [19:07]
fabriciusAlde just [19:08]
jonnybAldenisZen: it would be an idea to add some info on the installer to say that you can change them later, and not to use ssl unless you know it works on that server [19:09]
AldenisZenperhaps - I also fear possibly enabling it and not being able to not fix without reinstall jonnyb [19:10]
fabriciusAldenisZen: just delete the "lock" in /db and start the installer again as jonnyb said - most settings are prefilled now - it's a quick job - just change the ssl setting
AldenisZen: you can run the installer even on a running site and will not damage it - under ONE CONDITION:
[19:10]
jonnybwell you can lock yourself out if it's not set up right, i think - but you can always change the preferences in the database directly (with phpmyadmin etc) [19:11]
fabriciusdo *not reinstall the database* [19:12]
AldenisZenright. [19:12]
fabriciusas long as you click on *use existing databaseconnection* - no trouble [19:13]
AldenisZenWell, it seems I am forbidden from applying a profile template.
Gotcha fabricius
[19:13]
fabriciusthat's on the right side of the database dialogue
if you accidently go the left way you should have a fresh db backup ;-)
so always go the right way
[19:14]
AldenisZenRight, the upgrade path [19:15]
fabriciusyupi, but no upgrade needed, as you didn't upload a newer Tiki - so it just reconnects [19:16]
AldenisZenI figured it'd do that. [19:16]
fabriciussuper :-D [19:17]
AldenisZenBut I can't seem to add a profile, I keep getting the forbidden error that starts with You don't have permission to access /tiki-admin.php on this server. [19:17]
fabriciuswhere? [19:17]
AldenisZenFrom the home page trying to apply a profile, or from the admin/profile area [19:17]
fabriciusis Tiki up and running now?
ah ok
logged in I guess
[19:17]
AldenisZenyup [19:18]
fabriciusas admin [19:18]
AldenisZenYup, can navigate, but I don't have permissions... [19:18]
CIA-50tikiwiki: 03chealer * r36462 10/trunk/ (49 files in 49 dirs): [FIX] Eradicate Volumnera epidemy before it gets pandemic, using the Volume pill [19:18]
fabriciusstrange [19:18]
AldenisZenyup
Not my lucky day.
[19:18]
fabriciusahh no worries
fabricius is thinking
jonnyb: did you evar have a default user admin, having loged in first time, but no rights?
no admin right?
[19:19]
jonnybno, but i did remove tiki_p_admin once form the Admins group and you get the same thing [19:20]
fabriciusso he could check that in the database
must be in the table users or user_permissions or so
fabricius checking
[19:21]
jonnybyes - users_grouppermissions [19:22]
fabriciusfabricius stop checking
AldenisZen: did you download Tiki yourself, or is it a predelivered version from your hoster?
my hoster has this - I guess still a Tiki 3.something
[19:22]
AldenisZenI downloaded it myself, and the only user is me under the admin/users heading. [19:23]
fabricius^^
wich version you have?
[19:23]
AldenisZenlatest
7.1?
[19:24]
fabriciusOk
I have a 7.1 aswell
(others also)
[19:26]
AldenisZenshould I try adding user tiki_p_admin as administrator to the admins group? [19:27]
jonnybis it not there? [19:27]
AldenisZenonly 1 entry, myself [19:27]
jonnybin the database users_grouppermissions
sounds like you're looking in user_users
[19:28]
fabriciusI am just checking how exactly it should look like [19:28]
jonnybor user_groups [19:28]
AldenisZenso look in the database, through my hoster itself then.
not through the tiki software
[19:28]
fabriciusyes please
in php myadmin
[19:29]
jonnybsounds like starting again might be an idea? if you haven't get very far yet
anyway, good luck - i'm off out!
[19:29]
***jonnyb has quit IRC (Quit: I am going outside... I may be some time...) [19:29]
fabriciusit is the 6th table from the bottom - sroll far down [19:30]
AldenisZenjust found it
I see it there, the groupname admins / permname tiki_p_admin
nothing in value
[19:30]
fabriciuscheck another table please
users_usergroups
[19:32]
AldenisZenNever looked in database before... educated guess where to go in cpanel.. lol. Ok there. [19:32]
fabriciusthere must be one entry: user Id "1" and Group "Admin"
if thatś different, that could be the cause
[19:33]
AldenisZenuserId = 1/ groupName = Admins / created and expired both say null
Admins with an S
[19:34]
fabriciussry, with s is right
hmmm
[19:34]
Tiki|botNew Forum Posts: blank page after wiki page edit - http://tiki.org/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?forumId=6&comments_parentId=42096 [19:35]
fabriciusso you have user Id 1 in group Admins and perm tiki_p_admin for group Admins
did you definetively login?
did you login after chenging the password?
changing, sry
with the new password?
[19:36]
AldenisZenno, I will try logging out and tehn back in [19:36]
fabriciusyupi [19:36]
AldenisZenYea, I thought I had tried that, just in case. At any rate, I did do that and no such luck, same error

fabriciusYou may put code and errors in [off] (means typing [off] before - than it will not ne logged - good if it is too much
you could also use a pastebin for code and stuff and put the link in here
but it's Ok - just to let you know
[19:40]
AldenisZenok sorry [19:41]
fabriciusdo you know pastebin?
itś really Ok
[19:41]
AldenisZenyes, I wasn't thinking.

never heard of the [off} before
[19:41]
fabriciushappens to me sometimes aswell
see the header of the chat ;-)
[19:42]
AldenisZensounds good for covert dialog... lol

[19:42]
fabriciusI don't know if others have aswell [19:43]
BernardHi there, i was wondering about newsletter subscription. No module or plugin to subscribe ? (kind of : "Enter your email to receive our newsletter") [19:44]
AldenisZenman, it suckhoped to learn how to do it so I can get another site up that focuses on my goals.s to be newbie at things. I just want to get a personal site up, so I can start blogging. I
*sucks to be a newbie, I had hoped*
[19:44]
fabriciusBernard: you can list the newsletters, that you r allowed to see and subscribe there [19:45]
BernardAldenisZen: don't be pissed of… it is 8 years that i'm a newbie at TW :) [19:45]
fabriciusplugin or module I would have to search myself (don't know off hand)
hehehe Bernard
I have not really an idea, what could cause this
[19:45]
Bernardfabricius: i have searched and googled already couldn't find one… It seams to me obvious they were something like this [19:46]
fabriciusthe Apache message sounds strange for me [19:46]
AldenisZenI would think so as well, what I know about TW. [19:47]
Bernardbut i looked at your prob… not sure it is tw related [19:49]
fabriciusBernard and AldenisZen I agree
seems to be mor a providers support issue
[19:49]
ametteApache doesn't find what it has to deliver to the client...
... that is known as a 404 "File not found"...
... Apache likes to tell this to the user and tries to provide an HTML-file with the error message...
[19:50]
fabriciuslol yes [19:51]
BernardHey amette how are you ! [19:51]
amette... but the file that was configured to tell the end-user what is going on... is not available...
"Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request." <- nothing strange about that except a lazy sysadmin... ;)
[19:51]
AldenisZenThey thought it might be related to an .htaccess issue. I also couldn't get ssl to work either. [19:52]
ametteHi Bernard ! I'm fine, how are you? :) [19:52]
fabriciusBut this should be a different problemnow AldenisZen [19:53]
Bernardamette: like someone who has been the last 10 days working on build his house entrance and a garden ! (not a single muscle of mine is not hurting me). Kids are happy… i'm dead… but fine :D
Bernard just invent the concept of happy dead man
[19:55]
ametteWell, sounds like you're dead for a happy reason! :)) [19:55]
Bernard:) [19:56]
fabriciusfabricius remembers the movie "dead man"
amette: AldenisZen did a fresh install of 7.1 and his default user admin has no admin rights - but in the database he is in the group Admins wich has tiki_p_admin - any idea whatsup?
[19:58]

AldenisZenok, well I will tackle it later, the lawn calls me to be mowed. Stupid lawn, who gave grass a phone?
Thanks for yoru help fabricius
[20:21]
fabriciusyou can always write in the forum, come back here or if you want, write me an internal message in tiki.org
not so long ago I was in a similar situation than you and appreciated the help of several people very much
I think, we should get you and your Tiki running soon ;-)
in t.o my username is Torsten (my firstname)
butmaybe afresh installation in a frash unzipped folder and a fresh utf-8 enforced database would sort it
[20:23]
***chealer has quit IRC (Client Quit) [20:25]
AldenisZenroger. I will try that. But I need to get on the lawn and some other stuff. Might have to evacuate as I live in S.E. Ga, and need to get house in shape before I got to Ohio Linux Fest. [20:25]
