we have some problems.. trackers are not affected by perspectives
or at least not the plugins lphuberdeau: trackerlist? SJ-Jay: yeah and plugintracker lphuberdeau: I've been working a lot to get trackers clean, but trackerlist is untouched SJ-Jay: we are trying to auto categorize items according to the perspective.. lphuberdeau: for listings, you will have more luck with LIST
as for the default value, that's something I can look into SJ-Jay: the tracker plugin shouldn't be able to see categories other then the one in the perspective.. but it does! lphuberdeau: categories work differently with trackers
never really know if it's a feature or a bug SJ-Jay: we have a parent id with all our projects as child categories.. each tracker item should be categorizes to it's project
we thought that perspectives would be the right way to go, this way all other categories would be hidden
and with a autosavevalue in a category item this would be possible lphuberdeau: category jail auto-selects on new items for normal category selectors, or at least, it used to Merbster: lphuberdeau, we're trying to make hte category selector automatic (i.e. hidden from the user) lphuberdeau: SJ-Jay, what was the number you were having trouble with? SJ-Jay: tiki version number? lphuberdeau: well, the search string SJ-Jay: ohh that one
erm.. it's actually not the numbers that is the problem.. it's the "-" lphuberdeau: give me the exact one, trying to reproduce SJ-Jay: 1007-01
everything with a - i think lphuberdeau: I think your issue is fixed in trunk
the issue you might have is that it will match all 1007-01, 1007 and 01
but I really think people could argue on any option taken Merbster: lphuberdeau, it searches for 1007 that does not contain 01 - which never happens so no results are displayed lphuberdeau: I just wrote test cases and checked the results
in trunk SJ-Jay: lphuberdeau, are there any other then you we can ask for help regarding the tracker/perspective thing? Merbster: lphuberdeau, if it works in trunk You allready fixed it. Next question will then be; when is next release ;) SJ-Jay: we really need this to work.. we based our entire project management on trackers.. and if this doesn't work we are screwed! lphuberdeau: branching should happen quite soon, but official release is planned for end of October I think, you'd have to check with jonny or chealer about that SJ-Jay: we will be happy to pay for the work if this can speed things up! lphuberdeau: the release process can't really be fast-forwarded at this stage

and just copying the plugin won't work
when is your project supposed to be launched? SJ-Jay: 3 days
not gonna happen
we are so behind schedule ***: ricks99 has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 256 seconds) lphuberdeau: ok, so forget the phony schedule, what does the realistic one look like? SJ-Jay: well.. hopefully 2-3 weeks
but the perspective/category thing should be ready alot sooner.. we need to test everything
which isn't possible without it lphuberdeau: looking at the code in trunk
I think chealer fixed it, might have been unintentional, but I think jail is now considered when listing those categories Merbster: lphuberdeau, let's agree that we test out tiki trunk and see how well it fares. ***: lphuberdeau has quit IRC (Read error: Connection reset by peer) Merbster: and after that. we can agree on what to do afterwards.

Which will "fix it"

RobertPlummer: sorry
rodrigo_sampaio: seems quite modular, thanks! :-)
rodrigo_sampaio: BTW, there is no need to use the [MOD] tag in this case, it's meant for user-visible changes that could break assumptions CIA-12: tikiwiki: 03robertplummer * r37737 10/trunk/lib/logs/logsquerylib.php: [NEW] Added date grouping, so we can chart log results on a graph by day, a few other mods to generalize the feature ***: Jyhem_laptop has joined #tikiwiki

CIA-12: tikiwiki: 03robertplummer * r37738 10/trunk/lib/logs/logsquerylib.php: [ENH] Added rest of types so we can narrow results easily. nkoth|nelson: lphuberdeau, ok I know what they are (found the code) but I suppose what I was getting at is how I can control their growth - they fill up my ramdisk ***: marclaporte has quit IRC (Read error: Connection reset by peer) RobertPlummer: nkoth|nelson: Did you get my message in skype? nkoth|nelson: RobertPlummer yes RobertPlummer: nkoth|nelson: There are a few ways of obtaining the contributed data. Tiki|bot: New Forum Posts: Is permission to *create* a wiki page contained in permission tiki_p_edit? - http://tiki.org/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?forumId=4&comments_parentId=42366 ***: marclaporte has joined #tikiwiki nkoth|nelson: RobertPlummer: you mean the data of who contributed whatever? sylvieg: nkoth|nelson: perhaps call teh lucene optimizer more often - I do not know if there is a pref for that RobertPlummer: nkoth|nelson: Creator and contributions to that data is probably what we'd want to track
nkoth|nelson: So we'd need to obtain the user's pages, and then query for each one of those their stats, hits etc.
nkoth|nelson: right? nkoth|nelson: RobertPlummer: if we have a report of items, then it seems unwise to me to get all the data of a user;s pages which may be a lot of data
I mean, if we have only a list of items to report on then we only need informstion on who contributed to those, right? RobertPlummer: nkoth|nelson: That isn't really what I mean, I mean the plugin is contributions, right? Contributions to the whole website? Or contributions to my data?
Are we wanting to report everything or just the items that originated with a certain user is I guess what I'm asking.
sorry for it being so convoluted.
(the questions) nkoth|nelson: My use case is contributions to my (or our, defined by group selector tracker field) data, but I suppose the generic case could be broader RobertPlummer: ok, sounds good. I've got the foundation laid, I will work toward pushing them together as the week progresses.
nkoth|nelson: But I believe it is really close to starting to link up to charts. nkoth|nelson: RobertPlummer: sounds good lphuberdeau: nkoth, they are the cached search results, which are valid as long as the index is
how much space are they taking up? sylvieg: lphuberdeau: I think I read somewhere that the optimizer must be run more often to avoid such problem. The optimizer is only run at full indexation raight now? lphuberdeau: the searchresult cache files have absolutely nothing to do with lucene sylvieg: lphuberdeau: This files (like _4w.fnm file) are yours? lphuberdeau: that's not nelson's question sylvieg: oops sorry
I was on the wrong thread lphuberdeau: but yes, about those files, it's something to do with the optimizer passes
or reducing the amount of updates by bunching them together ***: rtdos has quit IRC (Remote host closed the connection)

any one have an idea how to avoid this kind of notice?
Illl try libxml_use_internal_errors lphuberdeau: nkoth, but how big was the ramdisk? nkoth|nelson: 160 MB lphuberdeau: I think we'll need to get a way to segment the caches
some are more important than other
how is the performance by moving the index from disk to ramdisk? ***: marclaporte has joined #tikiwiki nkoth|nelson: not htat much difference I am thinking of forgetting it for now, but things might be different if the server is under load
hard to tell - it appears that if the query is cached already it makes little if any diffeerent, but for a fresh query it is about 30% faster but we are talking abt reducing from 3 sec to 2 sec
I have the exact same content side by side, one using ramdisk, one not
not insignificant for a fresh query....
and as my index grows the effeect might be more pronounced I suppose ***: marclaporte has quit IRC (Read error: Connection reset by peer)
