RobertPlummer, I'd like to, but wether I have the time and can argue the relevancy of it for my boss I am not yet sure Merbster: Let him know that without our help, you wouldn't have gotten very far with this last project. For an end user/developer, we need use cases to make Tiki better, yours is a great example. With a few minutes meeting, we can understand better what your needs are. Merbster: I hope that didn't sound bad. I know you are a very capable developer. RobertPlummer, I understand what you mean, we say the same when people show up and ask us why we're chatting during work hours ;) Tell them to join you, perhaps it could speed up development even more. tikiwiki: 03jonnybradley * r38117 10/trunk/ (15 files in 10 dirs): [MRG] Automatic merge, branches/8.x 38094 to 38116 merbster: newer version is better, but it still shout for some gui to render images oeversetten, I haven't installed that lib - we run Tiki on Windows - I was just trying to share some of my "general" linux knowhow. i try to ask the developer for a workaround oeversetten, a workaround for what? it seems not to render images without an open GUI oeversetten, wouldn't Tiki be that gui? hehe I could be wrong - I don't know how it's supposed to be set up - but that is what I'd expect i estimate it needs a Qt-GUI open oeversetten, I found ap age on doc.t.o that says PDF generation was removed oeversetten, http://doc.tiki.org/PDF <- ? why? Says on the page. You'd probably have to solve hte problem by using Tikis "Show as print" and then use a client side PDF printer - like CutePDF that is inconvenient :( oeversetten, imagine the server load when 1000 users start a PDF generation at once i m used to use ctrl+p and output it in file, but it looks garbage used on wiki pages hmm that is the administrators choice ;) the page says it is removed in tiki 2 but webkit introduced in 6 oeversetten, I just skimmed it I am busy with debugging what we call "Consultant code" the old pdf generation (tiki2) was remvoed due to licensing issues - not compatible with lgpl hmm, but thanks anyway maybe i try to used cups-pdf instead hi xhello hi sacra and AlRahal (and everyone!) Hi all, I have a problem with tikiwiki6.3 no need to ask to ask, just ask! :) ok the problem is the following I have upgraded my a tiki2.4 to tiki6.3 the site is working but, when I set the option Show PHP ERROR visible to admin only I only get a white page no error on the log. AlRahal: that's sort of a feature ;) what does the error say when it's switched on (or you are admin)? polom hi chibaguy hi jonnyb Yes I am the admin if I am logged in as admin I'm still able to browse the wiki chibaguy: did you spot my attempt at fixing tabs on tikinewt the other day? (and was it ok?) but once I log off the wiki is not reachable AlRahal: down at the bottom somewhere it should say "show errors" (or something) and if you click it a list of error should appear Yes it does! one of those presumably is a bad one and killing your tiki for anon I tink that can be someting related to categories jonnyb, I didn't check in detail, though I know some of the themes' tab styles are more complicated than they need to be. jonnyb, was that tabs, or buttons, you fixed? had a go at buttons a couple of weeks ago, and tabs last week - i don't think either had been updated much since Tiki 6 (or 5 maybe) tikiwiki: 03jean-lucnavarro * r38118 10/branches/8.x/lang/fr/language.php: [bp/r38111][TRA] more French translations plomo, i recall discussions several month ago about "doubt" to keep google map integrated. At two I cannot see sign of this (on the contrary). Can someone tell more about mapping plan for the future in TW ? yes, jonnyb, it'd be good to have a look again at tabs and try to make the style methods the same for all the themes unless there's a good reason to diverge. chibaguy: indeed - also buttons... yes, I was just going to say. I did do some changing for buttons recently. Bernard1: LP added the google maps layers to the openstreetmap stuff for tiki 8, so they should be back now jonnyb: good to hear, tks ! chibaguy (and all) - How's 8.x looking in IE these days? Just trying it for the first time in ages and it's not great here! (login and search modules on left, not right for a start) jonnyb, check if IE is in Quirks mode Also I think IE 9 is actually pleasant Is it correct that if you activate "MySQL Search (legacy)", then tiki-searchresults.php is used, and if not, then tiki-searchindex.php is used? thanks Merbster (been a while since i experienced the pain of IE...) Did anyone of you encounter a problem when trying to debug "virtual applications" in IIS with Xdebug? chibaguy, I can confirm that yes, it's gone into quirks mode, but usually there's a reason for that isn't there? like doctype errors jonnyb, you can define it yourself Mine has never entered quirks mode automatically - atleast not in 9 I'm asking because search-results though simpler is a little nicer looking and search-index, I think, would be kind of scary to people accustomed to google, etc. chibaguy, it's possible to style both - it was SJ-Jay who did it though Oh, I see. OK. i'm still in 8 for extra pain! :) (and it looks fine on non-quirks mode - maybe i left it in that mode ages ago) Merbster: what are "virtual applications"? jonnyb, masochist jonnyb, it's a weird IIS concept that would be a no for me then :) jonnyb, I just checked in IE today, about the wide code page, but haven't actually looked with IE for quite a while. but basically it means if you want to execute a script placed in /lib/mySpeciealFolder/myScript.php - you have to mark /lib/mySpecialFolder as a "virtual application" in order for IIS to allow PHP execution directly jonnyb, what happens is that you can change settings for that individual virtual application - but a side effect is that XDebug is being screwed by it a Microsoft OS and browser is enough self inflicted misery for me for now, thanks last time I had IIS trouble I went to ##iis but that channel is deserted now lol On tiki-searchindex.php, what is the purpose of the "categories" textfield, is "lookup" the same meaning as "search" or "find", and what does checking "Deep search" do? If a person has searched with the module search form, then it is a bit strange to me to arrive at the search results and see these new fields. chibaguy, if you are running a tiki version that you have upgraded across generations you might have two search modules one from 6 and one from 7 the one from 7 mirrors the Unified Search options but can be customized (when including the module) too look liek the old one This is a new install I'm using. chibaguy: lookup make a category or tag picker dialog appear But what does the user think about the search results that are already displayed, after doing a search from the module? What is the reason for making a category or tag picker appear? I mean was the first search not complete, or something? chibaguy, I guess it is for further filtering I see. hmm, well i suppose it lets you fine tune your search it's some new GUI stuff that needs feedback and improvement I think some explanation would be good, like "Search results are below. To filter/fine tune your search..do this...." or something. Our consultant wrote code to automatically create wiki pages based on data froma webservice. But it fails silently, uses mysql_query and it's not OO... And my debugger doesn't work... *sigh* chibaguy, I agree - but I think it's the case alot of places in tiki. Yes, it's been improved a lot but there are still places. tikiwiki: 03jonnybradley * r38119 10/branches/8.x/templates/modules/mod-switch_lang.tpl: [FIX] flags: No need for absolute_uri for flag URLs, and it breaks when the address is different from the host name (e.g. using server IP to access). Also was adding an unnecessary / in the path Does "Categories" in the tiki-searchindex.php form mean Tiki categories? chibaguy, I would expect it to chibaguy, in all other scenarios where I have ecnountered categories in relation to Unified Search it has been tiki categories Right, thanks, I also did a simple test to check. Do you know what "Deep search" means here? i think it's search in child categories too That makes sense. also content of wikipages instead of just title etc. is there any way of deleting more than one category at a time? Hmm, I think users expect a search to turn up content in page content, not just titles, by default. Well, it does. Maybe deep search applies just to category levels. Hmm, I can't get a term in the page of a category child to show up in search unless "Categories" is left blank. If I indicate the parent category, child category, or both, and with "deep search" on or off, the term in the child never shows up. The term in the parent category's page does show up though. chibaguy, I think sylvieg and lphuberdau are the search experts. (Categories "Red", "Blue" and "Bluechild" which is a child of "Blue", and a wiki page in each with the term "wiki" being the page content of each, so a simple case.) I'll check with them some time. It's not so important to me right now, but I was just sort of exploring the search feature. it has evolved ALOT from 7 to 8 tiki 7 x doesn't support search strings with - in them I recall the talk here about that problem. tikiwiki: 03jonnybradley * r38120 10/branches/8.x/lib/smarty_tiki/function.icon.php: [FIX] Icons: Calculate the path_prefix for absolute URI or path before the cache name is worked out so icons for the same tiki accessed from different URLs will be cached separately. So plugin code would just scroll left and right, and the editor as well. jonnyb: Just like a normal code editor, seems to make sence. sense. hi RobertPlummer - isn't that possible only with fixed width objects? jonnyb: I can manage it, I'm just asking if it'd be a suitable fix. even for fluid width layouts? (yes, go for it) jonnyb: What I can do is detect the width at loadtime, jQuery().width(); Then just use that if there isn't a width set for the plugin only. I could possibly resize on browser resize, not sure if we'd need to go that far with it though. yes, that sounds feasible... RobertPlummer: I committed a fix for the fivealive theme today, to prevent the page backgrounds from breaking due to wide code. Fivealive didn't have a width specified. ..for the center column. I never update the only running db well yes, ALWAYS backup I ever take a dump, make up a new db, get a new tiki.zip, unpack on the server and copy the neede files like favicon to the new tiki root connect to the new database and upgrade that i like how joomlas updates are you dont have any do anything really it just does it files I always store one levelabove the tiki root -> ../files-filegallery ../files-wikiattachmnets etc. it is just for safety - I am pretty sure, Tiki would do it aswell, but I just prefer the once half an hour upgrade instead of beiing stuck for days if anything get lost without running backup My original allways stays online, until the updated backup is tested - then I switch around and the original will be renamed as Archive (still up and running) with joomla I would do about the same what makes upgrades quick is to avoid saving files in the root of the software yeah but they have addons that make backups to easy its not even funny this whole tikiwiki interface is so confusing compared to drupal joomla and wordpress and i cant find any external adons like i can for the other three hehe - we do not have external addons - that's why you do not find them we do not need what you r looking for? ok mostlikely Tiki should have it Tiki is "all-in-one" well im more of a graphic designer so i like it to be simple and easy to style at the same time your syntax is not universal like drupal and joomla are pretty much what you want to style? even I can customise Tiki not being gafic designer at all - and we'd like to get more grafis pros in our team I find it quite easy to design Tiki most of it quite easy to modify tiki look&feel and to move around modules and to adjust the css well like modules or the way h1's h2's and so on and to easily use css3 would be great different options for navigation the templates that are available are ok but if you want to customize it you really need to know the syntax pls give an example there are a few things, where you might need smarty, that's right but that would be more structural and not only grafical just standard css... should be quite easy to modify can also use the CSS assitant to change styles GUI instead. Tiki generates the css for you polom polom chealer polom chealer If I check file gallery permissions like this: $globalperms = Perms::get( array( 'type' => 'file galleries', 'object' => $fileInfo['galleryId'] ) ); What is the proper way of testing if they have view permission? if ($globalperms->view_file_gallery != 'y') return;? could be RobertPlummer - i usually have a look in the debugger and check what's come back it might just be $globalperms->view though That is what I did. It seems there is a bug with it. Sorting it out.... Ok, it was looking for type called "file galleries" when it is in fact a permissions type of "file gallery" There should be selectors for those various types to make it easier. Perms::get( array( 'type' => 'file gallery', 'object' => $fileInfo['galleryId'] ) ); Should be Perms::getFileGallery($id); agreed - they seem to get defined differently all over the place It would take about 3 lines of code for each one and everyone would be much happier. tikiwiki: 03jonnybradley * r38129 10/branches/8.x/lib/core/Tracker/Field/ItemsList.php: [FIX] trackers: Don't use 'id' technique if ItemsList if the "Value Field ID" option (2) is set as it's only checked in the "value" technique section. tikiwiki: 03chealer * r38130 10/branches/8.x/templates/styles/darkroom/: [KIL] templates/styles/darkroom/ (empty from r26146) tikiwiki: 03chealer * r38131 10/branches/8.x/templates/styles/feb12/: [KIL] templates/styles/feb12/ (empty from r26146) tikiwiki: 03chealer * r38132 10/branches/8.x/templates/styles/jqui/: [KIL] templates/styles/jqui/ (empty from r26146) tikiwiki: 03chealer * r38133 10/branches/8.x/templates/styles/skeleton/: [KIL] templates/styles/skeleton/ (empty from r32361) tikiwiki: 03chealer * r38134 10/branches/8.x/templates/styles/thenews/: [KIL] templates/styles/thenews/ (empty from r26146) tikiwiki: 03robertplummer * r38135 10/branches/8.x/lib/wiki-plugins/wikiplugin_draw.php: [FIX] Permissions fix for viewing draw image in page does anyone see any problem with the SVG thumbnail view in tiki being the svg image scaled down?
