rwik: hey, I just updated a test environment and did the "install" not upgrade. according to http://doc.tiki.org/Upgrade#Upgrade_through_fresh_install_or_Install_over_existing_ , under fresh install it says "You will need to manually move and/or re-integrate any data that is not stored in the MySQL database", but none of my pages, users, groups, etc, came over, and I believe they are stored in the mysql database.
is a fresh install supposed to overwrite everything? the name seems to suggest it, but the documentation seems to suggest otherwise.
I clicked install instead of upgrade. i think I have to to upgrade then install. thanks
hello there
I was wondering what's the best OS to install tiki on ?
Should be server side only ? or with GUI ?
ricks99: you can install Tiki on any webserver that meets the requirments. See docs for details: http://doc.tiki.org/Requirements
Apache is most common/popular. If using IIs, you can install Tiki from the Windows Web App Gallery
Tiko: I am talking about OS
like Suse ?
Ubunto ?
ricks99: there are specific install pages for debian and gentoo. have you reviewed the install guide for details?
