Huys
Guys
I am upgrading my tiki wiki
I have setup my server and everyting
and it works fine on initial setup jonnyb: hi Hammer Hammer: but when i import the Databse
into my new tikiwiki
i get an error lodaing the page
loading ricks99: what is the error? Hammer: An error occured while performing the request. jonnyb: did you run the installer? Hammer: yes I did ricks99: can you turn on the Tiki error reporting (on the next-to-last screen of the the installer)
ps: hi jonnyb Hammer: Rick --i this casde
i need
to rerun the installer
right ?
case ricks99: yes. go to tiki-install.php and skip directly to the page jonnyb: also ps hi ricks99 ;) ricks99: go directly to the "configure general settings" page
you'll see the "logging and reporting" options. Hammer: give me a sec
php error reporting level ? ricks99: yes Hammer: what should i choose
there is a list
report
all php errors? jonnyb: all except notices is usually what i have ricks99: yes. and confirm that "visible to admin only" is *not* enabled jonnyb: (notices aren't critical failures) ricks99: +1
select it, then click "continue", then enter your tiki Hammer: i got errors
i will copy paste ricks99: what are the errors Hammer: here
first wrror : Unknown column 'version_minor' in 'field list'
he query was: SELECT `page_id`, `pageName`, `hits`, `description`, `lastModif`, `comment`, `version`, `version_minor`, `user`, `ip`, `flag`, `points`, `votes`, `wiki_cache`, `cache_timestamp`, `pageRank`, `creator`, `page_size`, `lang`, `lockedby`, `is_html`, `created`, `wysiwyg`, `wiki_authors_style`, `comments_enabled` FROM `tiki_pages` WHERE `pageName`=? Values: Please Login The built query was likely: SELECT `page_id`, `p ricks99: what tiki version are you upgrading FROM and TO? Hammer: 2.2 to 8.2
big gap lol ricks99: wow Hammer: yea man Jyhem: Polom ricks99: when you ran the installer and upgraded the db, were there any db errors reported? Jyhem: after importing the database, did you go through the installer to upgrade the database ? Hammer: yes I went trhough the installer jonnyb: hi Jyhem Hammer: to updgrade the database Jyhem: 2.2 to 8.2 ? wow :-( jonnyb: i think that column was added pre-3.x days Jyhem: Hi jonnyb ! ricks99: go back to the installer, and go to the "install & upgrade" page, and re-upgrade the DB. check to see if all SQL were successful Hammer: ok let me
go back and tell u what's happening jonnyb: yes, it's in /db/tiki_1.8to1.9.sql which should have run before the upgrade to 2.x (but was notoriously unreliable in those days) Hammer: u want me to import jonnyb: it might be worth re-running all those tiki_x_to_y.sql files (on a copy - you'll get mostly errors but hopefully nothing harmful) Hammer: the database again first ? ricks99: Hammer: Go directly to the Install/Upgrade step, and click UPGRADE Hammer: ok
1 sec ricks99: On the Review Installation page, confirm that all SQL queries ran successfully Hammer: i ll use existing databse connection
Warning: Category Permissions Will Not Be Upgraded Category permissions have been revamped since version 3. If you have been using category permissions, note that they may not work properly after upgrading to version 4 onwards, and it will be necessary to reconfigure them. Automatically upgrade your existing database to v8.2.
should i just continue ?
and hit Upgarde ricks99: y. upgrade your DB. you *do* have a backup of the original DB, right? Hammer: yes
of course ricks99: yes, click UPGRADE Hammer: our database has been configured and Tiki is ready to run! You can now log in into Tiki as user admin and start configuring the application. Success Upgrade operations executed successfully: 5664 SQL queries. ricks99: note that there are *MANY* changes between 2.x and 8.x. Things like categories and permissions will need to b upddated manually
ok. go to the Enter your Tiki step Hammer: i got this at the bottom
Upgrading and running into encoding issues? We can try to fix it, but make sure you have backups, and can restore them. Oops. You need to make sure client charset is forced to UTF-8. Reset the database connection to continue. ricks99: can ingore that for now. Hammer: same error ricks99: hm. Not sure I can help. maybe someone else? jonnyb: it's in /db/tiki_1.8to1.9.sql so won't get run now, you'll need to execute the sql manually i'd say Hammer: whain shell command ? jonnyb: or you could just run the sql that makes that particular field (which was added in 2005)
do you have phpmyadmin or similar? Hammer: yes
PHPMYadmin jonnyb: that's easiest - you should be able to copy and paste in the bits you need... Hammer: so what should i do ? go query and excute it ? jonnyb: hang on, just checking the error you gave... (there are two fields called that) Hammer: yes ricks99: thx jonnyb Hammer: The following error message was returned: Unknown column 'version_minor' in 'field list' The query was: SELECT `page_id`, `pageName`, `hits`, `description`, `lastModif`, `comment`, `version`, `version_minor`, `user`, `ip`, `flag`, `points`, `votes`, `wiki_cache`, `cache_timestamp`, `pageRank`, `creator`, `page_size`, `lang`, `lockedby`, `is_html`, `created`, `wysiwyg`, `wiki_authors_style`, `comments_enabled` FROM `tiki_pages` WHE
then
Please Login The built query was likely: SELECT `page_id`, `pageName`, `hits`, `description`, `lastModif`, `comment`, `version`, `version_minor`, `user`, `ip`, `flag`, `points`, `votes`, `wiki_cache`, `cache_timestamp`, `pageRank`, `creator`, `page_size`, `lang`, `lockedby`, `is_html`, `created`, `wysiwyg`, `wiki_authors_style`, `comments_enabled` FROM `tiki_pages` WHERE `pageName`='Please Login' jonnyb: looks like you need to run the sql in /installer/schema/20090808_add_wiki_minor_edits_tiki.sql which creates that field
not sure why it failed though... and what else might be missing
ALTER TABLE `tiki_pages` ADD `version_minor` int(8) NOT NULL default '0' AFTER `version`; Hammer: let me excute that command
same error jonnyb: that's odd - still saying: Unknown column 'version_minor' in 'field list'? Hammer: yes
u want me to re run the installer
after excucting that command
? jonnyb: did oyu get any error back when you ran the command? Hammer: no
it went fine
even i tried one more time to check
it saus duplicate
so it is already there
says jonnyb: so can you check the fields in tiki_pages Hammer: yes
i can jonnyb: ok, so it worked 1st time
flushing the tiki caches might help
tiki-admin_system.php?do=all Hammer: all version minor
are equal to 0
how u want me to flush it ? jonnyb: on the admin menu - Tiki Cache/Sys Admin Hammer: how u want me to get to the admin menu ? I cannot even can get there
i rerun the installer again
same
error
Jonny jonnyb: oh, sorry - i thought you could get to some pages, like the error admin settings
(ah, that's in the installer isn't it) ricks99: can you go to ../tiki-login.ph and log in? Hammer: no not there jonnyb: tiki-login_scr.php i think Hammer: i get
blank screen
just white page
nothing there Tiki|bot: Recent Bug: Tracker item: #4094 - - Linking ItemsList to ItemsList fails - http://dev.tiki.org/tiki-view_tracker_item.php?trackerId=5&itemId=4094 jonnyb: in the installer did you set "show errors to anonymous"? (should help with the white page) Hammer: no
let me re do it RobertPlummerMob: [~robert@173-165-104-150-Illinois.hfc.comcastbusiness.net] has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds] Hammer: at the bottom of install

Hammer: yes riouxjp64: yes but with the theme eatlon I have just one Css and I don't like my menu too jonnyb: where was the original version_minor error coming from again? Hammer: tiki-index.php ricks99: riouxjp64: This primer will help you determine which CSS style to modify http://bit.ly/czdyOU riouxjp64: when I click on my menu on top of the page, the name dissapear and I can just see a white rectangular, I don't want this rectangular I want to see my menu name jonnyb: Hammer: i think maybe you need to upgrade to an interim version first as 2 to 8 in one go is just too much, perhaps try going to 6.5 first? Hammer: all versions are available online ?
ok I will try
that riouxjp64: maybe it's not the theme, it's another thing I have to do Hammer: Jonnyb , I have a good question though
would the css and styles that i had in 2.2
would affect the login ?
or these files can be moved after
? ricks99: Hammer: theme and styles form 2.2 are *not* compatible with 8.x. See the release notes for full details
if you have custom theme, you will need to re-work it to make it compatible with 8x Hammer: OH
same for logo ?
banner ?
eh ? ricks99: banner/logo? Not sure I understand your question Hammer: like for the first login page
i had my own styple
style for the company
.css file i guess ricks99: You'll need to rework your theme. Tiki 8 uses different layout, different DIVs, IDs, etc. Hammer: and some pics related
oh
i see
i see
so what do u recommend me moving from old to new
?
after ?
just img_up ? ricks99: be sure to read all the release notes between 2.x and 8.x so that you're aware of all the changes Hammer: folder? ricks99: many many changes (such as permissions) riouxjp64: why I see rectangular over my menu name ? Is it related to the theme ? Hammer: i SEE
WHAT IF I GO FROM 2 TO 6V?
V6 ? ricks99: riouxjp64: A rectangle? Not sure. You'll see a down arrow if there are sub items in the menu. Hammer: what s after 2.2 ?
excat ? ricks99: Hammer: same thing. there are MANY changes since 2.2 Hammer: i would prefer
recreating all my pages
lol
from scrath
but i have 400 pages
:( riouxjp64: I don't see that arrow, I see nothing except a white rectangle over my menu name just when I want to click it
I don't want to change theme jonnyb: Hammer: did you customise any tpl files? (in templates/styles/yourstyle) - if so remove (or rename) it ricks99: riouxjp64: is this a public URL? I'm not aware of any Tiki themes that display a rectangle above a menu itme Hammer: Jonny , yes we do have one
was not me
the one who worked on this left the company jonnyb: Hammer: i think if i were you i'd upgrade first from 2.2 to 3.8, then to 6.5 and then to 8 (checking it still works each time) Hammer: Yea but should i move anything from old to new ?
other than databse ? jonnyb: ok, first then try removing that templates/styles/yourstyle directory
did you move the theme bits over? Hammer: bits ?
yes i moved it to new riouxjp64: It's not neccesarly a rectangle but when I want to click it the name dissapear and a blue line appear under Hammer: want me to remove it /
? jonnyb: you'll eventually need dirs like img/wiki_up but that wouldn't be stopping it working ricks99: riouxjp64: That sounds like the link style. You can change this in the CSS jonnyb: yes, remove (or rename) the templates/styles/yourstyle dir Hammer: ok
done
i also moved .css file
not sure where lol wait i am checking
should i remove that too
? riouxjp64: where I can change that ? ricks99: you can modify the CSS from the Admin: Look & Feel page riouxjp64: I try teal.css but the same problem appear
I don't have an other choice ricks99: on the Custom CSS tab, you can add/create your own CSS style jonnyb: Hammer: so no change on the login page? was worth a try... Hammer: I got the login
page
but not the other
one jonnyb: so have you logged in now? Hammer: no
i tried a username
from old databse
i got an error
Unknown column 'ug.anniversary' in 'where clause' The query was: SELECT uu.* FROM `users_usergroups` uu LEFT JOIN `users_groups` ug ON (uu.`groupName`= ug.`groupName`) WHERE ( ug.`anniversary` > ? AND uu.`created` IS NOT NULL AND uu.`expire` is NULL ) Values: The built query was likely: SELECT uu.* FROM `users_usergroups` uu LEFT JOIN `users_groups` ug ON (uu.`groupName`= ug.`groupName`) WHERE ( ug.`anniversary` > '' AND uu.`crea jonnyb: Hammer: it sounds like quite a few upgrade scripts failed somehow, again i'd suggest upgrading it to 3.8 (of what ever the last 3.x was) and seeing if that works
sorry - got to go now, more tomorrow riouxjp64: do you have one to refer to me ? Hammer: perfect
when upgrading to 3.8
should use export import database
eacj time i add a version up
?
OHHH Tommorow :) thank you jonnyb: who me riouxjp64? no, i wasn't following
Hammer: make a backup of each step by exporting, yes - but you don't need necessarily to re-import it each time (if i follow you correctly)
bye bye
(good luck all!)
