but I don't fully get where to add the fix within lib/wiki/wikilib.php (around lines 409 and 412, in trunk)
I want Tiki to have an option (back) to not set any cache for a wiki page
line 410 says:
if ($wiki_cache > 0 && empty($_REQUEST['offset']) && empty($_REQUEST['itemId']) && (empty($user) || $prefs['wiki_cache'] == 0) ) {
I presume that "prefs['wiki_cache']" means the general wiki cache for the whole Tiki

Hello all, and a belated happy new year! happy: new year to you too lphuberdeau:: are comments in tracker indexed on the fly? deeku: Is ck-erp used a lot with tiki? Tiki|bot: New Forum Posts: Edit Tracker box has white text on white BG - http://tiki.org/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?forumId=4&comments_parentId=42936 all: these ajax call - it is great when it works - but to debug and fix - it is painful Loll78: Hi. I have problems to create groups. I intend to create some groups so that the users of these groups can only SEE some wiki pages (and do not have access to the others) deeku: Hello Loll87, you can use PluginGroup to control which group sees what content on a wiki page. See http://doc.tiki.org/PluginGroup
To prevent members of some groups from accessing the content of a wiki page, you can wrap the content around PluginGroup Loll78: deeku: a) Can I nest this plugin? b)It is not exactly what I want to have because some users should see AND edit the pages, some users should only see the contents and the anonymous should see a different page (defined by the group plugin)
so i think it is a combination of group and permissions-settings which I should do, but up to now I haven't found the right combination deeku: Here is how anonymous users can see a different page and other group members see the actual content
{GROUP(groups=Members|Editors|Admins)}
{ARTICLES(type="Notices")}{ARTICLES}{ELSE}
This page is accessible to members only.
{GROUP}
You will have to test if you can nest this plugin, though I do not recall having any problems nesting it Loll78: deeku: perhaps I should give a clearer example. User A should see only pages A but not pages B, but user B should see them (but not pages A). Both of them should not edit the pages. User C should see all the pages (also pages C) and should also edit all pages. deeku: For enable some people to edit a page and some just to view content, the simplest way forward would be to have the editors in their own group and readers in a different one
ok, based on your example, here is how I would proceed.
Let members of group a (user A is assumed to be a member of group a) see pages B, but with the PluginGroup used as described above, user A will just see the message "This page is accessible to members only." and vice versa for members of group B who visit pages of group A
So your objective is met: user A can visit group B's pages but not see the pages content Loll78: Is is not simpler to restraint the permission of User A on pages B and vice versa?
or even better (but I do not know if it works) to couple the permission to categories? deeku: But how? Will you use categories or individual permissions per page? How many pages do you want to control in this way? A small number can be managed manually, but for large numbers... and what about the future, will users from one group move to the other? If so how do you handle that? New users... are they automatically assigned a group? Loll78: New Users are assigned to the Editors group. It is only to give access to a small number of people to some pages (perhaps 100) deeku: Ok, you can use categories and permissions, though I would still prefer PluginGroup or even PluginPerm - see http://doc.tiki.org/PluginPerm Loll78: In our Lab, User of machine A should see information concerning machine A but not see the pages from machine B. And external people should not have the right to edit any informations but see their corresponding machine. deeku: ok...
when you say pages from machine B, do you mean pages containing info about machine B or pages created using machine B? Loll78: pages containing info abozt machine B deeku: ok... Netsplit: *.net <-> *.split quits: Tiki|bot Loll78: I think I can assign categories to each page, and set the permission for that categorie Netsplit: over, joins: Tiki|bot Loll78: but now the question is if there are multiple categories per pages and their permissions are contradictory what happen. deeku: yes, you can.
you need a one-to-one relationship between user and machine
so user of machine A sees info about machine A
well, yes, I suppose you could use categories to acheive that
if permissions are contradictory, it is difficult to predict what will happen. You will have to be careful when configuring this. Loll78: deeku: your method certainly works also, but I think it will be a lot of work if one wants to change a think (adding a new machine) or usergroups..
up to now the pages are tagged with "machine A" or "machine B" and some pages of them are also tagged with "Manual" deeku: Very little work would be required to add a new machine or usergroup... I imagine that you would need to just create a new page or the new machine, put the PluginGroup wrapper around the content and then assign any users who use the new machine to the machine's group... Thats all.
Either way, its your choice. Both methods have their own advantages.
