Hi. What are the prerequistes for the spreadsheets (tiki 8.3). I am not able to edit any spreadsheets. All the directory and its file are set to permission 777. ricks99: joined #tikiwiki
polom y'all Jyhem_laptop: polom ricks99 ricks99: hi Jyhem Jyhem_laptop: I just started a new project with clients who said they'd buy (and read) your books to get started :-) ricks99: woo-hoo
Q: I'm using the domain redirect option to migrate a site to a new URL. Is there a special parameter I can use to "secretly" access the old tiki site?
or do i need to deactive the domain redirect via the database of the old site? :( Jyhem_laptop: hmmm. No idea. Last time I put the old in maintenance mode and edited the maintenance page to tell people to change their bookmarks. Loll78: make a copy of the start page and access with the complete url ricks99: Loll78: not sure what you mean? "copy of the start page"? -: Jyhem_laptop not sure about the domain redirect option ricks99: the option works great... just need to go back to the old site Loll78: ricks99: doesn't matter... You use a fonction of the tiki and not a html redirect code page ricks99: does that mean that the only way to re-access the old site is to edit the db directly and turn off theoption? Jyhem_laptop: ok, I found the option. You have a list of "old, new" domains, right ?
like "old.com,new.com" or "www.new.com,new.com", correct ? ricks99: yes
yes. but now I want to access the old.com site. Jyhem_laptop: Then you might find a DNS alias to your site and access itthrough the alias ricks99: hm.. was hoping there was a straigh url way... http://oldsite.com/tiki-admin?somespecialaccess=y
will change the db pref
and turn the old site back on :( Jyhem_laptop: get the IP of old.com, set up your DNS so vintage.old.com points to this IP. Set up apache virtualhosts so vintage.old.com makes use of the same tiki code. ricks99: omg
seems like a LOT more work than simply accessing the oldsite db
but anyway, i think my q is answered. tx Jyhem_laptop: then vintage.old.com gets you to the old site and is ignored by the rule "old.com,new.com"
Copying the database on another site sounds much simpler, yes luciash: polom
ricks99: usually hostings in US offer something like www.mysite.com.ahosting.com - is not it working for you too ? (found in information provided by the hosting company when you ordered the hosting first so you can preview your site before going live)
ricks99: anyway i thing u already went the db change way :) ricks99: y. db was pretty easy :) coaboa: joined #tikiwiki

polom xavi: back fabricius: running a website from svn - will my custom files all be kept? xavi: hi coaboa, Loll78 fabricius and Jyhem fabricius: hi xavi xavi: fabricius: yes, svn doesn't not deleted files which are not under revision control (= your custom files if they have never been under svn) fabricius: that means, if I customise jqui.css it will be changed by svn, but if I do a copy and rename it to fabricius.css, it will not be changed by svn - right? xavi: yes, you are right fabricius: cool - I just asked, because I am starting to use svn for running one or two projects now
I have a few crazy Memory Exhaust Errors on a webite I have to release these days gillesm: joined #tikiwiki fabricius: The website wouldn't be usable at this point (no possibility to admin, because of the Mem Ex Errors)
I cannot reprodice on demo.t.o
reproduce ricks99: how much memory do u have assigned in php.ini? fabricius: Database seems to be ok
64MB ricks99: i usually assign 128 (or more) fabricius: but the requests have been far less ricks99: especially if using lots of modules, complex trackers, and so on fabricius: less than 1000kB
several modules, many categories, wikistructures ricks99: try increasing memory fabricius: I do so Jyhem: hi xavi ! xavi: hi Jyhem
skype? earleymw: joined #tikiwiki coaboa: joined #tikiwiki chealer: joined #tikiwiki
joined #tikiwiki fabricius: ricks99: I tried 80MB and 100MB - only 128MB solved the issue ricks99: y. that's what i use fabricius: isn't 128MB Memory Limit a quite high demand? ricks99: compared to what? i don't really have a reference point.
tiki requirements state that 128 is the recommended amount: http://doc.tiki.org/requirements#PHP fabricius: aye
So it seems to have been just luck, that it worked before ricks99: the more features, the more memory Loll78: the memory is not the problem why I am not able to edit any spreadsheets. Anybody have another idea? NachoMahma: Wild guess for Loll78: Check the OS permissions on the directory where the SSs are stored and all directories above. Loll78: NachoMahma: all set to 777 NachoMahma: Yikes! Sounds a little dangerous, but should work Loll78: it doesn't... I think there is perhaps a speciall/strange php function, which is not activated at my provider NachoMahma: I dunno then. I just got started with Tiki and have a lot to learn
I may end up using SSs, so I'll be keeping an eye on responses to your question CIA-36: tikiwiki: 03jonnybradley * r39936 10/trunk/ (5 files in 3 dirs): [FIX] Clean user input before unserializing (thanks EgiX) jonnyb: joined #tikiwiki CIA-36: tikiwiki: 03jonnybradley * r39937 10/branches/8.x/ (5 files in 3 dirs): [bp/r39936][FIX] Clean user input before unserializing

RobertPlummerMob: Polom chealer NachoMahma: Hope this isn't something obvious, but I've been looking on *tiki.org for three days (on and off) and can't find a chart that lists which features/plugins/whatever are available in each version. Does anything like that exist? If so, will someone please post a link? TIA jonnyb: hi NachoMahma - good question, but i'm not aware of one
many pages will describe when a feature arrived or changed, but i don't think anyone's done a summary table (would be a huge task!)
Rick would be the guy to ask, i think NachoMahma: Thanks for the reply. Maybe that would make a great project for me. fabricius: NachoMahma: only a few features are going out of Tiki; some - not many aswell - are not much maintained; most ist coming and rising
NachoMahma: so changes are good, that most of the features you find in the docs are either available for the last Tiki or alternatively one feature has "taken" the tasks of another one
NachoMahma: examples are the file gallery, which made image galleries obsolete, whilst filegals have been improved or module "menu" which today includes the function of module "wikistructuremenu"
NachoMahma: I think you would be better of, if you asked for specific features, instead of starting a work on a list that never could stay up to date
NachoMahma: just thinking - such a list would be nice to have anyway jonnyb: hi fabricius
NachoMahma: you could have a look at the history of the endangered features page on dev.tiki.org - would tell you which ones have gone fabricius: jonnyb: checking out three installations parallel now
