Anyone out there? I just setup a new Tiki and need help!
I started with the Community profile, but for some reason the Wiki is not visible by default?
The settings are overwhelming for a new user like myself.
This is an extension to a very busy forum, so I am under pressure to get this running quickly.
Can anyone advise?

How do I set it up so there is a nice list of created pages that can be viewed? Currently I have a link in the menu going to http://www.fiskerbuzz.com/wiki/tiki-listpages.php but it would be better if the administration pages could be hidden

one of my users created a new wiki page

nothing appeared

he had been logged out by this action
logging back in his page was not to be seen NachoMahma: Did you try rolling back to a previous version of the page? Jenser: but "re-creating" the wiki page with the same name gave the option to "us tthe blueprint" or whatever it is called in english
yah, thats the point
using this blueprint leads to "%0" and all this stuff

even as admin his not yet correctly saved page is shown to me NachoMahma: admin should be able to rollback the page to the version before the edits were attempted. Any edits that were being made are most likely lost Jenser: there is no version before edit
happened while creation of a new page NachoMahma: Oh! I thought "(there was already content on it)" meant the page was being edited. AFAIK, everything is lost Jenser: as mentionned
after logging back in tiki gave him the option to use the already typed content

u know how to disable this logout NachoMahma: The auto-logout is configured via one of the Admin panels Jenser: having tiki open without "edit" page doesnt force auto logout NachoMahma: Not sure which one, but I remember seeing some settings

How are you ricks99: hi DarkSlider. sorry about before. long day :( DarkSlider: Nah its fine, I got distracted with work lol
But as to your earlier question, I am not sure if I have it set up to cache the pages
regarding external feeds refreshing ricks99: if your *page* is cached, it will show only the cached info from the feed -- regardless of when the feed was updated
check in your performance options DarkSlider: Well the issue isnt what is being displayed
the problem is I have the external feed set to check the actual external feed for new content every 15 minutes
and will refresh it manually at say 12:00
if I come back at 17:00
It will say the last refresh was at 12:00
so it never automatically refreshs though it is set to do it every 15 minutes ricks99: but, if your *page* is cached from 12:00, that is what will display DarkSlider: Shouldn't the indicated though on the externals feeds page show that it checked at 17:00 though, or at 15 minute intervals, even if it didnt display it? ricks99: no. look at it like this:
at 12:00 you access the page...
since this is the first time the page has been accessed, Tiki refreshes the page cache ...
getting the latest version of the feed (say, from 11:55).... DarkSlider: k ricks99: now, Tiki caches the entire page (including the rss feed of 11:55)....
at 17:00 you re-access the page...
but since the actual page has not been edited, Tiki shows the cached page (which included the 11:55 rss feed)....
even though the actual cache for the rss feed itself, was last updated at 16:58
you need to check the page cache. DarkSlider: alright, so where in performance do I need to check? ricks99: caching DarkSlider: I dont seem to have a caching tab lol
I have Performace, Bytecode Cache, Wiki, Database, Memcache, Plugins, Major slow down, Sessions, and Newsletter ricks99: what is your tiki version? DarkSlider: 8.3 ricks99: under wiki DarkSlider: Should that affect the feeds though as they are trying to create articles? And everything is unchecked and (no cache) is selected under Cache wiki pages ricks99: hm... when you go to the external feeds page, what is the last update time/date? DarkSlider: 10:46 AM
Thats the problem
they dont update there
unless I manually click refresh feed ricks99: hm.. .maybe a bug? I'm not sure.
and the feed itself actually changed? DarkSlider: Yeah
the feed in that time will get 20 or 30 new articles on it
so when I manually refresh they all spring up as new articles on the wiki ricks99: not sure. did you check the bug list? possibly a known issue DarkSlider: Yeah but I didnt happen to see anything, I will check again lol changi_away: polom luciash: hi changi nkoth|nelson: joined #tikiwiki rodrigoprimo: joined #tikiwiki CIA-36: tikiwiki: 03changi67 * r40201 10/trunk/ (16 files in 9 dirs): no changes code styling - http://quality.tiki.org chealer: RobertPlummer: packaging takes a while from what I'm told RobertPlummer: chealer: Haven't you done it? chealer: RobertPlummer: never. changi usually does it. it takes longer to do the first one if you want subsequent releases to be faster because you need to mirror the Subversion repository RobertPlummer: So why can't we automate it? Hello all
I'm having difficulty setting up Tiki and need some help. I'm a very technical person, just new 2 Tiki.
Our new wiki is here: www.FiskerBuzz.com/wiki RobertPlummer: Aren't we just talking about a few shell commands, the only thing different is the build number, right? New2Tiki: A few contributors have registered, but they cannot seem to access the wiki or edit. Can someone advise? The wiki is mostly the default Community profile
I am thinking that the wiki should not be that hard to at least get going? chealer: it is largely automated already. packaging also includes putting the packages on SourceForge. and there's some testing needed.
New2Tiki: what happens when they try to? sylvieg: no webinar now? New2Tiki: chealer, thanks for responding. I am not sure. Their comments are here: http://fiskerbuzz.com/forums/Thread-Definitive-Problem-List?page=3
Could you try to make a quick account and see what is going on? luciash: sylvieg: it will begin in 15 mins sylvieg: cool - I was stuck on the high way

My server is running PHP 5.2.13 luciash: check if it is there New2Tiki: Researching now luciash: other possibility is some Tiki config is not working correctly - you might re-check on Login admin panel if "require anonymous anti-bot code" is enabled or seach for anti-bot in the admin fuilter field ... if u do not allow anonymous to post anything you might switch it off
s/fuilter/filter/
bbl New2Tiki: Yes, I made sure the admin setting does not require anti-bot code
I cannot find the PHP library information on my cPanel server, but everything should be there because this was automatically installed by my host
I really have two issues that I need help with:
1) How to set it so registered users can edit the wiki (why is this not default?)
2) The link to the wiki displayed intuitively
Basic setup questions
http://fiskerbuzz.com/wiki/tiki-index.php
I put a link in the menu and on the front page to: http://www.fiskerbuzz.com/wiki/tiki-listpages.php
But is there a better page to link to? So that everyone sees a structure of pages?
I realize there are so many options to TikiWiki but I just do not know what I am doing with this software. xavi: joined #tikiwiki CIA-36: tikiwiki: 03changi67 * r40203 10/trunk/ (42 files in 13 dirs): no changes code styling - http://quality.tiki.org chealer: The webinar has started.
New2Tiki: your users apparently have difficulty registering or logging in to your site. New2Tiki: Yes, then I changed the anonymous anti-bot code setting and now it should be fixed. Several registered since I made that change. The question now is, how can I set it so they can edit, and two, make the wiki displayed more prominently and intuitively.
