fidel | anyone inhere using the tiki-importer? maybe with bigger (around 80mb) files?
i am wondering about the php values other users might have configured for apache/php - as my import of big xml files just fails | [14:3] |
.... (idle for 16mn) | ||
sandroandrade | joined #tikiwiki | [14:14] |
rodrigoprimo | fidel: what is the error message you get when the importation fail?
fidel: in the documentation of the mediawiki importer (and maybe in the documentation of the wordpress importer as well) you have a list of all the apache/php configuration you have to change in order to work with big files fidel: http://doc.tiki.org/mediawiki+importer | [14:28] |
fidel | hi rodrigoprimo - basically i get no error-output at all fro mthe importer. at least not in the browser | [14:31] |
rodrigoprimo | fidel: have you checked the apache logs? | [14:31] |
fidel | no - i played a while with bigger mem-limits and at the end i just shrinked the import files
dropping old revisions which reduced the xml heavily i assumed there was an error-checking method missing - but yeah maybe the apache log could have helped - which i forgot at that point rodrigoprimo: are there any experienced-based mem limits you would suggest based on the xml file size? erm - gonna see if i can find the docu of the importer | [14:32] |
rodrigoprimo | fidel: I don't know by heart the values. but by checking what is failing in the apache logs it should be easy for you to adjust whatever is necessary. | [14:39] |
fidel | lets see - gonna try to reproduce that once again - i guess i got the vm still somewhere around | [14:40] |
rodrigoprimo | fidel: ok, let me know if you need further assistance | [14:46] |
fidel | rodrigoprimo: should i focus on the apache error.log only? | [14:47] |
rodrigoprimo | fidel: afaik, yes | [14:47] |
fidel | k - error output is: PHP Warning: Post Content-Length of 86253450 bytes exceeds the limit of 8388608 bytes in Unknown on line 0
referer: http://a.b.c.d/tiki/tiki-importer.php | [14:49] |
gonna re-set the post-size now to 150M - lets see if i get some other follow-errors
oh - now i get an error from within tiki importer: The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini. 2MB step by step ;) error step 3: now i get a white page showing: Loading and validating the XML file and am stuck at that moment. and a child pic XY exit signal segmentation fault (11) in apaches error.log *pid* | [14:54] | |

GillesM | how can I distinguish horizontal menu and vertical menu in CSS ? | [15:10] |
rodrigoprimo | fidel: are you importing a mediawiki or a wordpress xml file? | [15:16] |
fidel | mediawiki
the general import works pretty good for my mediawiki dumps - as long as i limit myself to small xml filesize - created via dumpBackup.php from cli | [15:16] |
rodrigoprimo | fidel: I've seen this segmentation fault problem before. It is likely to be a bug in PHP itself since in theory the PHP code shouldn't be able to kill the Apache process. It is related with PEAR package Text_Wiki, the package that handles the conversion of the Mediawiki syntax to Tiki syntax. In general it is caused by the content of a simple page. So if you can find which page is causing the problem you can import the rest of the pages. | [15:24] |
fidel | rodrigoprimo: well to be honest - i got my issue fixed already - as i am just skipping the old revisions while doing my migration (export -> import) | [15:26] |
rodrigoprimo | fidel: ok, great :) | [15:27] |
fidel | i reported back as i assume some other users might stumble upon that problem as well
and i think the importer could at least try to show the error-strings - as it does it already for the upload_max_filesize restriction but not in case post_max_filesize is too small | [15:27] |

marclaporte | As fas as I understand, chealer's script did a first level of decoding
but then, more was needed, mostly for the plugins Jonny replaced Chealer's script with his own | [22:4] |
RobertPlummer | Can you possibly re-run it on trunkinfo.tiki.org?
It just looks like the script didn't execute to upgrade the site. Yea that is all that happened. | [22:5] |
marclaporte | changi: can we have a way to regenerate info.tiki.org at will? (clicking somewhere) | [22:6] |
RobertPlummer | marclaporte: Go here: https://trunkinfo.tiki.org/tiki-editpage.php?page=HTMLentities | [22:7] |
marclaporte | So I think we need 1- chealer's script first to clean the DB, then, 2-Jonny's script for the plugins, and likely 3- Something in the parser to show code as is | [22:7] |
RobertPlummer | Look at lt and gt at the top, I just edited it.
Also, I edited another line, things are fine with the parse as far as I can tell with the entities. Just the scripts. We need a page that has the functionality in it, or an admin panel so we can easily upgrade the pages. | [22:7] |
Jyhem | polom
as far as I know, the goal is to store & as & and < as < | [22:9] |

RobertPlummer | Jyhem do you think you'd have time to take a look at why the upgrade script is failing for html entities?
Jyhem I think much of the problems with parser seem to be nominal at the moment, if you are interested, my brain could use a rest. | [23:23] |
Jyhem | RobertPlummer: no, sorry. I have gotten too late on the tracker filling project (not advanced at all, actually, since I investigate file upload right now) | [23:24] |
xavi | RobertPlummer: could a solution be just to fix the entities in the wiki pages after the upgrade?
http://dev.tiki.org/Regressions+in+9x#Regressions_with_risk_of_data_corruption with those 4 sql queries in mysql directly? (that's what I've done so far in a few tiki sites upgraded from 6x to 9x) | [23:24] |
Jyhem | Ok, it seems that FF 3.0.19 is just too old :-( | [23:33] |
RobertPlummer | xavi, this works ok for plugins etc? | [23:34] |
xavi | RobertPlummer: see http://ueb.vhir.org
or http://r-es.org both upgraded during the last days from 6x to 9x, and 4 sql queries aplied well, in r-es.org, only 3 sql queries (not & yet) Jyhem: you can add mozilla stable repo to your 10.04 ubuntu if this is the case hth | [23:35] |
Jyhem | Kubuntu 9.04 :-/ Should find time to upgrade, but time never seems to happen | [23:38] |
RobertPlummer | xavi: Where do you suggest these sql updates go if not in the installer?
I just used it on my side and got great results. Also, shouldn't this apply to history too? | [23:40] |
Jyhem | now ther's a good point! | [23:42] |
RobertPlummer | I don't see how it could be a big problem, I think it would be best to have mysql handle it. I see jonny open each current page, and not all of them, not the history.
The only real way to do this right is to have mysql do it, as xavi has done. And imho. :) I will go ahead and write a small patch for the installer, for both history and pages, and if it doesn't work, we can roll it back. BUT, I do not like 999999991_decode_pages_sources_tiki.php at all. That is the wrong way I think. | [23:42] |

example: http://demo.tiki.org/9x/tiki-editpage.php?page=WYSIWYG admin user there has mollio as his theme style right now | [23:58] |
