Anyone here who knows how to import tracker items via csv files?
anyone actice here at all?
Jyhem: President: get to tiki-list_trackers.php
each tracker has a Export and an Import button
First export → Export Tracker Items → Number of records → 1 or 2
That will show you the syntax for the import file
President: hey thanks. I know that buttons, but my problem is, that I cannot import anything. I created two items in a tracker and exported them. Then I opened it with Openoffice
changed some entries and tried to import this file again.
Unfortunately it does not work..... In "admin trackers" it shows the right number of items. But when I click on list items there are no new ones
only the two old ones
Jyhem: admin trackers shows 4?
President: yes
Jyhem: are you admin ?
President: yes
Jyhem: Did you check "Create as new items" on import ?
President: yes i did
maybe the header is created with the wrong format.... i cannot find an example how it should look like
it looks like:
Key -- 57,"Authors -- 58","Title -- 59","Year -- 60","Link -- 61","Journal -- 62"
(should be a tracker which lists some publications)
and an entry for example is:
Test,"surname, name","Niuce title","2011","http://arxiv.org/test","Journal"
Jyhem: What is Key -- 57 field type?
President: text field
ID: 57, name: Key, Type: text field
i also tried to put it into quotation marks like the others, but it didn work.
and the export creates it this way
Jyhem: That's weird. Does openoffice save the import file as csv?
President: yes
Jyhem: Using Tiki9 ?
President: Tiki 7.2
i found someone with a similar problem here: http://dev.tiki.org/item3500 but I dont see a working solution there
arildb: joined #tikiwiki
Jyhem: Ahh, all my tracker importing experience is from Tiki9 :-(
President: hmmm... maybe they fixed it
can i simply update tiki without loosing anything?
Jyhem: I do confirm that there is a bug about number of items. When imports fail, number of items can be upgraded wrongly, and the only way of fixing I found was in the database in tiki_trackers table
so there probably is only 2 items in your table. But I don't know why they don't import.
President: Nevertheless.... thank you for helping
:)
Jyhem: as usual: do a backup first, and look up http://doc.tiki.org/Tiki9

President: update to 8.x
importing items worked for me in 8.x (8.3 at the time, I think)
in 9x, csv import create new items (doesn't replace old with new)
bear in mind that you can ensure that the foramt of the edited csv is the right one by opening it with a simple text editor
saving from OOo might change something, depending on the filtersyou use, charset, etc.
dynamic item lists fail for me in some trackers :-/
in 9x
GillesM: joined #tikiwiki
xavi: well, I correct myself: "dynamic item lists fail in all trackers when used through plugin tracker"
in 9x
President: ah, thanks
okay, i will try to update

xavi: jonnyb, have you seen the new issue with entities shown in some tiki plugins? (last: gauge)
reproduced in http://demo.tiki.org/9x/ (homepage)
jonnyb: no, not yet

xavi: I dropped a line about it in http://dev.tiki.org/regressions+in+9x as usual, to help keeping track about it
jonnyb: that's odd - copied to my localhost and it looks ok
ok, was html page - will fix later
xavi: ok
and maybe related to the html entities shown with trackertimeline plugin when not using simile?: Example: http://ueb.vhir.org/Gantt
^jonnyb
jonnyb: ok
i think it's the "format" of the plugin, defaults to wiki and should probably be html here
but deep in something else now - will look later
xavi: ok, thanks

jonnyb: xavi - can you test r41377 pls? Seems good for me but i've never managed to get the non simile timeline thing to make any sense! :)
xavi: thanks jonnyb
jonnyb: it's an easy fix if you spot more
it's only recently that the plugin format has been critical

xavi: jonnyb, I confirm with r41379 that trackertimeline works as expected right now (as far as I understand what can I expect from it). example: (from a pre-eliminar test similar to our production site)
jonnyb: when you click on the link of an item, it pops up a box with the description, and a link to the item, it seems. And "it just works"
which is always nice
benoitg: joined #tikiwiki
xavi: jonnyb, however, fyi, it seems that trackertimeline is not displaying all data from the whole time series indicated by the date fields... I dunno why ...
benoitg: joined #tikiwiki
xavi: jonnyb, fyi also, a nice thing from the non-simile tracekrtimeline is that you can have many in the same wiki page (using tabs, or headings for each month, etc.). with simile_timeline, you can only haev one per page, it seems
the nice thing would be the option to allow the user (visitor) to filter data (with or without simile) for a user, or some other field in the same tracker where the data is displayed (like what you can achieve with trackerfilter)
ok, back to work in other things...

xavi: thks jonnyb also to you :-)
jonnyb: :)
hope it does what you need now
-: xavi doing svn up and checking if it's usable with real data and simile on
xavi: jonnyb, something is not working as expected yet. all simile boxes show the same (wrong) date frames
and january is:
{trackertimeline tracker="5" title="224" summary="226" start="289" end="235" group="227" lower="2012-01-01 05:00:00" upper="2012-01-31 22:00:00" scale1="day" scale2="week" link_group="n" simile_timeline="y"}
february:
{trackertimeline tracker="5" title="224" summary="226" start="289" end="235" group="227" lower="2012-02-01 05:00:00" upper="2012-02-28 22:00:00" scale1="day" scale2="week" link_group="n" simile_timeline="y"}
etc
jonnyb: yes, i seem to remember i couldn't get simile to observe the upper & lower limits
did it ever work before?
xavi: mm, I recall that it worked last week...
let me check...
oups, maybe no? not sure...
using 41300 shows same effect
mmm, your new height params work :-) (even if I couldn't use them with the popup helper, maybe temproary cache issue even if I cleaned tiki caches), but the data display is not the same , I dunno why
jonnyb: yes, you need to clear temp/cache to see new plugin params
xavi: oups, & is a typo in th second url
well, I have to rush out of work
c u all and thanks jonnyb

ricks99: anyone know: is there a way to *download* multiple files from File Gallery at once?
either in a single zip or batched job?
Jyhem: Hmm, I think there is a permission or option for getting all as a zip, no ?
ricks99: i see the zip for upload, but can't find anything on download
Jyhem: Ahhh, it seems to be a Filegal option in admin → File gals
fgal_display_zip_option
weird. I would have expected a per-gallery or per group option
ricks99: isnt that for uploading a zip?
Jyhem: No, that's downloading a zip. Now I see a zip icon at the bottom of the tiki-list_file_gallery.php
ricks99: hm... does that zip everything, or can i select which?
-: ricks99 ... goes to check...
Jyhem: uploading is a permission, I think
ricks99: got it!
It is included with the "perform action with checked"[19:45] ricks99 exactly what i was looking for
thanks jyhem!
does this require some apache module or other server software?
