<br> how do I make a module that simply links to some url?
   <br> to https://biomech-wiki.ethz.ch/tiki-calendar.php actually
   jacmoe: joined #tikiwiki
jjdash: hmm, is it possible to make a bookmarks menu that has as entries the bookmarks?
<br> <u>also</u>: is there some way to group calendars? like cal1-7 belongs to group1 and cal8 to group2 or something like that?
<br> one group would be for "machine reservation" and one for social events
<br> hmm, is there a possibility to undo?
<br> I just deleted 3 hours of work, damn
pedor: hi, google has deprecated maps api v2 and it will stop work on may 2013, is there any plan to upgrade google maps feature to the api v3?

g0th: hi, how can I make a module that links directly to some page?
<br> I plan to make a nice contacts db of all registered users
<br> I want to have several additional fields to the standard ones and I would like to present it in some nice way
<br> originally I planned to use a registration tracker, but you cannot register if ldap authentication is used (the user is "already" registered kind of)
   lorinc: joined #tikiwiki
g0th: so my idea was to link the user to some tracker input page (his standard homepage) until he filled out all required fields and then link him to some other homepage, that's my first issue: how todo this?
<br> second one: how do I list all (or individual) tracker information together with already existing user information in some nice table?
   <br> is there a template/documentation/plugin/profile for that?
<br> in general: how do I make one page display until a certain criteria is met and then display another page, in particular for the group homepage

<br> another question ... and I do not know if it would be a providers issue or a Tiki issue:
<br> a website was moved from one provider account to another account at the same provider
<br> website works, all links seem to be ok
<br> I copied the website and did set it up as subdomain (to check the upgrade first)
<br> I made the upgrade from Tiki 6.4 to tiki 9 SVN
RobertPlummer: Have we found a possible project that could be integrated that guards against spam guys?
fabricius: <u>RobertPlummer</u>: not yet I guess, but I am refusing most registrations since yesterday

RobertPlummer: <u>fabricius</u>: I'm not sure how affective that will be.

fabricius: when I type in a full domain with a page that I know, I can access the new upgraded wesite
RobertPlummer: (I have very little experience with blocking spam)
fabricius: but when I type in just the domain without any page (example.com instead of example,com/some+known+page) I am directed to a folder in the old account
   <br> what this might be?
RobertPlummer: Drupal I don't think has a very good spam blocker, but I seem to remember that I've never seen it to bad with wordpress.
   <br> http://mashable.com/2008/02/10/fighting-spam-wordpress/
fabricius: <u>RobertPlummer</u>: the problem at the moment is less the spam itself, but the registration ... they now do not use certain particular domains of their own, but they use webmail-accounts (hotmail.com actually) which you cannot identify first hand, without locking out non-spammers or non-robots
jjg0th: <u>changi</u>: I tried webdav but it didn't work, I'm using windows 7 at the moment, I tried several different things

<br> but I am talking about registrations
RobertPlummer: <u>fabricius</u>: http://bad-behavior.ioerror.us/about/ is compatible with our licensing.
<br> <u>fabricius</u>: If analysis is of the ip and headers, I feel this may be an affective strategy in preventing spam registrations and not just content.

<br> so you think with bad-behaviour it would be possible?

<br> Perhaps an interview with the developer would be in line?
<br> (or we could simply try it)

I thought I clicked on remove "Guest" or "Registered" but what happened was that the admin lost the admin group, so maybe I clicked on the wrong spot, or it automatically removed admin because admin inherits from guest/etc...
<br> anyway, fortunately with phpmyadmin it was rather easy to correct that

   <br> only in source mode
<br> still not working at all
jonnyb: odd - plugin edit should work the same
g0th: my main problem is that it is not possible to create a tiki user
<br> how do I make it possible that guest users can login?
<br> I have university users that can login using ldap but I also want to be able to allow an external guest to login
   <br> :(
<br> the only solution I see is to completely drop the support for ldap authentication which is the backbone of my whole site concept
jonnyb: can you not get the guest user created in ldap?
g0th: I cannot change ldap stuff
<br> it is from the whole university, ofc I don't have root access to it :)
<br> so for collaboration we don't want to wait a day until the eth gives the external guy a guest account
<br> hmm, maybe one has to use a name that is not used yet, lemme try
   <br> hmm, nope
CIA-75: tikiwiki: 03jonnybradley * r42239 10/branches/9.x/tiki-adminusers.php: [MOD] users: Add a stronger warning confirmation if removing admin from Admins (thanks g0th)
jonnyb: re ^^ - seemed the best i could do, just added a clearer warning if removing admin from Admins
   g0th: wb :)
<br> what happens when a user logs in resp. logs out?
<br> somehow the settings (i.e. db) is changed and the user after this can no longer login
jonnyb: when it did work (adding a guest tiki user) how about copying the pw hash from the database and adding it back in after it's disappeared?
   g0th: lemme try
   <br> but that's no solution, just a test ;)
   <br> that works!
   <br> it even remembers it!!!
<br> so you just need to get this working from the wiki side
<br> oh no, it was the refresh command in mysql I guess that put back the ahsh
   <br> hash*
<br> why was that not written anywhere? That's like the _first_ important thing to write about ldap authentication and the configuration even clearly suggests that it is possible to add your own users :(

   g0th: got it!!!
   stgenius: left #tikiwiki
g0th: it was one of the following options: groupTracker, userTracker, syncUsersWithDirectory, most probably the last one
<br> (confirmed: syncUsersWithDirectory, makes sense that this has to be deactivated to make tiki users possible)
