[00:05] yorrd need some help with the "admin toolbar" page. there are some plugin tools grayed out, even though i enabled the corresponding plugins o.0 any other reasons for them not being available?
[00:05] marclaporte yorrd: maybe the feature itself is not yet activated?
[00:05] yorrd ill have a look
[00:05] marclaporte some tools are for wiki, some wysiwyg, some both
[00:10] yorrd okay, yeah, i really forgot to enable the plugin >.< thanks anyways
[00:16] yorrd isn't the document key the pile of random characters in the link of the doc?
[00:16] yorrd the whole frame doesn't show up, but takes up the space

[00:50] marclaporte yorrd: I don't get what you are talking about. Can you make a screenshot or screencast at: http://demo.tiki.org/trunk/? (/me is always looking to dogfood)
[00:51] yorrd I added the code for the google doc plugin, but the frame where the doc should be, is white, nothing else.
[00:51] yorrd now i was wondering whether i got the wrong key
[00:54] fabricius hi yorrd, I tried google-docs with the plugin aswell - a longer while ago - and I think, I would remember, it did not work
[00:55] yorrd Hm... it's really not important, if it doesn't work, it's just fine for me;-)
[00:56] fabricius yorrd: but I think, that anyway the WebODF approach will bring us and many projects further than any google doc API or Plugin
[00:56] yorrd that's true, I just had some old docs laying around
[00:58] fabricius just meant ;-)

[01:03] Mneme_ Quick question: in what file are Tikiwiki codes such as '' = italic, %%% = line break, etc. defined?
[01:03] fabricius hmmm
[01:03] fabricius must be the parser
[01:04] fabricius RobertPlummer should know ... maybe parserlib parser/lib or s.th like that!?
[01:05] Mneme_ Alternative wording: I want to add a wikicode so that users may use {{{ }}} to create a
[01:05] fabricius Mneme_: it's the wikisyntax ... must be defined "near the wikiparser"
[01:05] fabricius uhh
[01:05] fabricius {{{ }}} Why that?
[01:06] Mneme_ Not specifically that, heh, maybe +++ text +++ or whatever
[01:06] fabricius why you do not just use {DIV(type=span class=something)} anycontent [DIV} ??
[01:07] Mneme_ I want to make it easier on the users.
[01:07] Mneme_ Some of them can barely handle UBB code. :)
[01:07] fabricius check here: doc.tiki.org/PluginDiv and doc.tiki.org/PluginFont
[01:08] fabricius AND let me check ... there is anotherone, might be useful for you ... brb
[01:08] Mneme_ Hm is still a thing?
[01:10] fabricius I do not know
[01:10] Mneme_ Nevermind, though that is interesting. LOL Anyway I'm just trying to make it so users can rely mostly on the wikicode without resorting to HTML or other templates.
[01:11] Mneme_ If I can FIND the wikicode parser I can probably handle it from there
[01:11] marclaporte maybe it's a test
[01:12] fabricius Mneme_: pls check this one: http://doc.tiki.org/Plugin+Alias
[01:13] Mneme_ Hm...
[01:13] marclaporte Mneme_: wiki plugins are over at: lib/wiki-plugins
[01:14] fabricius Mneme_: you should not at all change the parser code ... whilst you can as it OpenSource ... but you would kind of lock out or upset or confuse people who know Tiki before
[01:15] fabricius Another one: http://doc.tiki.org/PluginTag
[01:15] fabricius But I think you need *PluginAlias*
[01:16] marclaporte Plugin Alias permits you to create {MNEME()} meh {MNEME} to something like
[01:16] Mneme_ Yeah
[01:16] marclaporte You could also have {mneme class="abc"} that becomes
[01:17] marclaporte and making a plugin like this has the benefit that the plugin helper is there for the users (the pop up box which offers all the possible fields)
[01:18] Mneme_ *nods* Is there something I have to enable to access tiki-admin.php?page=plugins? It gives me a fatal error and tells me the template doesn't exist when I try to go to that.
[01:21] marclaporte Mneme_: you are running out of RAM
[01:21] marclaporte that page is heavy
[01:21] marclaporte because lots of plugins :-)
[01:21] marclaporte This is plugin helper http://doc.tiki.org/Plugin+Help (but those are old screenshots. Much nicer now)
[01:22] marclaporte template doesn't exist : oh that is strange
[01:22] marclaporte which version of Tiki?

[01:22] Mneme_ 8.1 I think.
[01:28] Mneme_ {div(type=span class=l)}L text{span} would function?
[01:28] Mneme_ Er {div}
[01:31] Mneme_ Okay not so much, since the HTML renders as
[01:31] Mneme_ (the boxes should be there)
[01:33] Mneme_ Oh. Case sensitive.

[16:29] jonnyb ah, but you're still young :)
[16:32] jjg0th hi
[16:32] jjg0th what permissions (besides calendar stuff) do I need to schedule events in a calendar?
[16:32] jjg0th (and to change my own events)
[16:33] jjg0th I set the calendar permissions (for a certain category) but taht was not enough, it seems I need something more, maybe permission to view wiki pages?
[16:33] RobertPlummerMob jonnyb: What do I use for an interpreter?
[16:33] RobertPlummerMob just "php" (in linux)
[16:33] fabricius jjg0th: depends, where you want to show / view the items
[16:34] RobertPlummerMob In windows you would use the path I believe, but in ubuntu it is accessible globally.
[16:34] fabricius if you show them in a module which is assigne to / on a wikipage, you need to have the perm to see the wikipage
[16:35] ricks99 jjg0th: did you set the *calendar* permissions?
[16:38] jjg0th yes
[16:38] jjg0th only the calendar permissions
[16:38] jjg0th it is enough to show the events
[16:38] jjg0th but I cannot add events :(
[16:39] jjg0th tiki_p_add_events doesn't seem to be enough to add events
[16:39] jjg0th I guess it cannot even show the "dialog" and that's why it fails
[16:40] ricks99 as admin?
[16:40] jjg0th "add event" just show the login screen, instead of a screen to add an event
[16:40] jjg0th as admin I can do everything
[16:41] ricks99 and the other user/group has the necessary perms to add an event?
[16:41] jjg0th yes
[16:41] jjg0th well obviously no *g*
[16:41] RobertPlummerMob jonnyb: nm, it was already there.
[16:42] jonnyb good :)
[16:42] ricks99 and you've created at least 1 calendar, right?
[16:42] jjg0th yes
[16:43] jjg0th and assigned him to the calendar category
[16:43] ricks99 did you apply any object-specific perms to the actual calendar?
[16:43] jjg0th it partially works because I indeed can see the calendar as calendar user
[16:43] jjg0th no
[16:43] ricks99 do you have any specic perms assigned to the calendar category?
[16:44] jjg0th yes
[16:44] jjg0th normally the calendar group has no rights at all
[16:44] jjg0th but the calendar category assigns calendar rights to the calendar group
[16:44] ricks99 so all users can see the calendar, but only calendargroup should be able to create events?
[16:44] jjg0th I assigned a view calendars to the calendar category
[16:45] jjg0th a bit more complicated
[16:45] jjg0th we have guests, users, admins, calendar (and registered + anonymous)
[16:45] jjg0th guests can view calendar/events
[16:45] jjg0th users can add events
[16:45] jjg0th admin can admin
[16:45] jjg0th calendar apriori cannot do anything
[16:46] jjg0th calendar is for external guests that are only supposed to use (and edit) the calendar but not access the rest of the wiki
[16:46] jjg0th so essentially (wrt calendar) calendar is the same as user (but only for calendars assigned to the calendar category)
[16:46] jjg0th that's the idea
[16:47] ricks99 so those are ur user groups, right? what/how/why are you using a calendar *category*?
[16:48] jjg0th I just described it
[16:48] ricks99 those are your user groups -- not categories
[16:48] CIA-75 tikiwiki: 03jonnybradley * r42356 10/branches/9.x/tiki-register.php: [FIX] registration: Use name for email when login_is_email for post-user-tracker validation mail
[16:48] ricks99 based on what you said ^^^ you don't need categories at all
[16:48] ricks99 remember, permissions are inherited downward (group -> category -> object) but override upward
[16:48] jjg0th how do I make "certain" calendars accessable to the calendar group?
[16:49] ricks99 using object perms
[16:49] jjg0th if I give global permission to do calendar stuff, then all calendar can be accessed by the group
[16:49] ricks99 to override the group perms
[16:49] jjg0th that's one way yes
[16:49] jjg0th so far I never used object perms
[16:50] jjg0th I tried to make it simple: permissions are set globally, except for a view special permissions, handled by categories
[16:50] jjg0th that way there is a clear list of possible permissions and one clear access point to change those
[16:50] marclaporte joined #tikiwiki
[16:50] ricks99 can do it that way too. but you need to add the category perms to the group (i.e., view category objcts, modify category objects, etc.)
[16:51] jjg0th what do you mean?
[16:51] ricks99 if you're using categories, and you categorize an object, you'll need to give the group permission to see categorized objects
[16:51] ricks99 (that's way, i said, in your simple case, object-level will be easier
[16:51] ricks99 that's *why* I said...
[16:52] jjg0th ah so I need to add some category permissions
[16:52] jjg0th to the global permissions
[16:53] jjg0th but I can view calendars, even though I didn't give any of those permissions
[16:53] ricks99 yes. you might want to review the docs for details:
[16:53] ricks99 http://doc.tiki.org/Permission and http://twbasics.tikiforsmarties.com/Using+Permissions
[16:54] * Jyhem wonders if anyone is familiar with the "Favorite" button in http://demo.tiki.org/9x/tiki-index.php ? I suppose it should do something more than a white page ? :-(
[16:54] jjg0th hmm I don't think so
[16:54] jjg0th there are no permissions related to categories that seem necessary
[16:54] pedor well, I have the last wiki pages, but I can't get the module to show only one category, it's showing them all
[16:55] ricks99 jjg0th: there's an "edit items in categories"
[16:55] jjg0th items = objects?
[16:55] ricks99 sometimes. ;)
[16:57] jjg0th I didn't find the "edit items in categories"
[16:57] jjg0th where is it?
[16:57] jjg0th anyway, I have a very very strong guess this is not about categories but simply about necessary permissions
[16:57] ricks99 something like p_edit_categories?
[16:57] jjg0th ah permissions
[16:58] jjg0th I thought some configuration screen
[16:58] ricks99 again, i highly recommend looking at the docs
[16:58] ricks99 perms and categories are highly configurable and can be tricky
[16:58] jjg0th I already read them
[16:58] jjg0th as I said
[16:58] jjg0th it looks like a bug
[16:58] jjg0th the intuition tells me I did everything right
[16:59] jjg0th but obviously something is wrong if the "add event" dialog doesn't shows the correct thing
[16:59] ricks99 i have many tiki sites wih multiple calendars visible only specific groups
[16:59] jjg0th ok, I try it myself
[16:59] jjg0th trial and error
[16:59] jjg0th I will just enable all permissions
[16:59] ricks99 what tiki version are you using?
[16:59] jjg0th then reduce in half etc
[16:59] jjg0th 9.x
[17:00] ricks99 9.0?
[17:00] ricks99 or trunk?
[17:02] jjg0th 9.x branch
[17:02] jjg0th 9.0
[17:02] jjg0th atm
[17:03] jjg0th hmm I changed the category to give it all the rights of a normal user but the add event dialog still doesn't show :(
[17:05] ricks99 not sure what the issue is. as long as you have add_events enabled for the category perm, for the specific calendar, should work
[17:05] jjg0th it does, except I cannot add events ^^
[17:05] jjg0th the dialog shows a login page
[17:06] jjg0th it opens the usual "add event" dialog, but inside the dialog it shows the login page, very strange
[17:06] ricks99 oh... sorry. i thought this was for a registered group. you want to give anonymous ability to add events?
[17:06] * ricks99 very confused.
[17:06] jjg0th the calendar category gives no permissions to anonymous
[17:06] jjg0th lemme summarize
[17:07] ricks99 can you post an image of your error page?
[17:07] jjg0th I add a calendar (with some global permissions), I assign it to my calendar category (which allows calendar group members to add event)
[17:07] jjg0th ok
[17:07] ricks99 if you're seeing a Please Login dialog, it means you're not logged in
[17:09] jjg0th http://dl.dropbox.com/u/71965662/screenshot.png
[17:11] ricks99 9.0 (SVN) -- are you using from SVN or the relased 9.0 package?
[17:11] jjg0th to continue the above: then I login as user "calendar" (he belongs to group calendar) and view the calendar, then I double click the calendar
[17:11] jjg0th svn 9.x branch
[17:11] ricks99 ah... well there may be bugs in the .x stuff
[17:11] jjg0th at the moment it is still 9.0
[17:12] ricks99 hm... footer on the screen says from SVN
[17:12] jjg0th it is a LTS version?
[17:12] jjg0th that's what the page and users here said
[17:12] ricks99 LTS is 6
[17:12] jjg0th they told me 9 is LTS too essentially
[17:12] jjg0th that's also what the webpage says
[17:13] ricks99 what webpage? the http://tiki.org/download has 6.x as LTS and 9.0 as current stable
[17:13] ricks99 where are you seeing 9.0 is LTS?
[17:13] jjg0th sec
[17:13] jjg0th http://dev.tiki.org/Get+code
[17:14] jjg0th also some people here told me it was a LTS
[17:14] ricks99 according to the roadmap, 9.x will become LTS upon the release of 10.
[17:14] jjg0th the webpage says LTS
[17:14] jjg0th but whatever
[17:15] ricks99 no. 9.x (probably .1 or .2 *will* become LTS upon release of 10
[17:15] ricks99 pls see http://dev.tiki.org/Version+lifecycle
[17:15] jjg0th I have to solve this issue now
[17:15] jjg0th this is not helping to solve my issue ^^
[17:15] ricks99 1. suggest you use a rleased version, not dev code
[17:15] jjg0th no
[17:15] jjg0th I already made that decision
[17:16] ricks99 ok. if you're using dev code, then be prepared for bugs. may need to do daily svn updates then
[17:16] jjg0th people told me that essentially 9.x is LTS, I guess they meant: it will be as soon as 10 is released which is very soon
[17:16] ricks99 yes. the "x" means that the actual release number is not yet known
[17:16] ricks99 it will most likely be 9.1 or 9.2
[17:16] jjg0th what are we talking about here?
[17:17] ricks99 9.1 or 9.2 will be the next LTS
[17:17] jjg0th I already told you I am useing the 9.x branch, I cannot just change that
[17:17] jjg0th so I don't see the point to discuss this further
[17:17] ricks99 not sure i can help then. by definition, if you're using a ".X" branch, the code is not released
[17:17] ricks99 sorry i can't help further
[17:17] jjg0th that's kind of cheap
[17:17] jjg0th I understand: I dunno, sorry
[17:17] ricks99 ?
[17:17] jjg0th but to say I cannot help because you are using a development version is really cheap imo
[17:18] jjg0th especially because I'm pretty sure this is not due to the development version
[17:18] ricks99 sorry. works on my 9.0 and 6.7 sites
[17:18] ricks99 have you refreshed your svn branch and tried?
[17:18] jjg0th I made a mistake or forgot some permission somewhere
[17:18] jjg0th I cannot update the svn branch, our isg does that
[17:19] ricks99 well, the snapshot that you took of the .x dev branch may have had bugs
[17:19] jjg0th yes, but I don't think so
[17:19] jjg0th in this special case
[17:19] ricks99 that's why ther'es a big notice: Information Important This development branch may not be considered stable or for production use.
[17:19] ricks99 suggest you try posting to the support forum for wider audience
[17:19] jjg0th if you are quoting web sites I already told you it says LTS
[17:19] jjg0th so the website should be updated accordingly
[17:19] ricks99 http://info.tiki.org/download
[17:20] jjg0th http://dev.tiki.org/Get+code
[17:20] jjg0th the users here told me the other page was outdated
[17:20] ricks99 notice at the top of the dev.tiki.org site it says "DEVELOPMENT"
[17:20] jjg0th and the second page _CLEARLY_ suggests that 9.x is LTS
[17:21] ricks99 yes.. "X" is a variable. means "unknown"
[17:21] jjg0th everything is development
[17:21] ricks99 no. code that is released is released
[17:21] jjg0th I get your point but you're just babbling stuff that does not help at all
[17:21] ricks99 sorry. can't get into this further.
[17:21] ricks99 i'm able to have multiple calendars with different groups on my9.0 and 6.7 sites
[17:21] jjg0th and if I'm to go at that level it is very clear that the web page above does not give the impression you try to pass on
[17:21] jjg0th ok
[17:21] jjg0th thanks for the help
[17:22] jjg0th anyone else here?
[17:22] * ricks99 thinks the download page seems obvious with its wanrning about dev code
[17:23] jjg0th agree for download page
[17:24] jjg0th ok, I found out something, maybe it helps:
[17:25] marclaporte Tiki 9 is LTS in the sense that it will be supported for a very long time. However, since it's still in the early days, our http://info.tiki.org/Version+Lifecycle makes it possible for people to wait until 10 to upgrade to it
[17:25] Jyhem this can be answered by dumping the mysql database, downloading a released 9.0 version and importing the database in the 9.0. That would answer the question "is it configuration or code regression?"
[17:25] gaurav__ joined #tikiwiki
[17:25] ricks99 +1 jyhem's suggestion
[17:26] gaurav__ hi
[17:26] jjg0th I change the global permission to give calendar rights to the calendar group => then everything works, but if I remove those global permission and add them as category permission and assign the category to some calendars, then adding events no longer works
[17:26] jjg0th yep that would show it indeed
[17:26] marclaporte So if you are running a 6.7 site (which is very very stable), you may not want to upgrade to 9.0. But, if you are starting a new project, and want to be support for a long long time, it makes sense to start with 9.0, and regularly upgrade to 9.1, 9.2, etc.
[17:27] jjg0th exactly
[17:27] gaurav__ can any one help me
[17:27] jjg0th especially considering calendars ^^
[17:27] gaurav__ in knowing how can i use the webmail
[17:29] ricks99 gaurav__: have you looked at the docs: http://doc.tiki.org/webmail
[17:29] jjg0th lets say I want to replace global permissions for all calendars with category permissions, what do I do?
[17:29] jjg0th I thought I just add a category, view all calendars, select the corresponding category there and I'm done
[17:30] jjg0th the next step would be to only give a few calendars those permissions

[17:31] jjg0th re, oups
[17:31] gaurav__ ricks... i have already checked that but i am not able see the mais with subject line
[17:31] gaurav__ as i have cofigured my official mail
[17:31] gaurav__ like smtp and pop and even mails are donwload
[17:33] gaurav__ ?
[17:33] jjg0th I now did it your way ricks99
[17:34] jjg0th I simply changed the objects permissions, but then I still cannot add events
[17:34] jjg0th it only works if I change the global permissions
[17:34] jjg0th then I can indeed add events
[17:35] gaurav__ can u please tell me what shuld i do now ?
[17:38] jjg0th could it be related to this: http://dev.tiki.org/item2838 ?
[17:40] jjg0th hmm, I could do the opposite, make a category "not calendar" and give it to calendars that should not be viewable by calendar ....
[17:40] gaurav__ ?
[17:41] jjg0th yep that works
[17:41] jjg0th this solves my issue, not elegant but works

[20:50] changi_away hi there
[20:55] RobertPlummerMob jonnyb: Is there an easy way of extending the registration process by adding a group purchasing plugin?
[20:55] jonnyb hmm - deep in the group registration stuff now (getting validation to work)
[20:56] jonnyb i guess have a look at pretty tracker registration
[20:56] jonnyb but i guess most you could do would be jq client-side stuff in that (maybe)
[20:57] jonnyb probably a good place to start...
[20:59] RobertPlummerMob jonnyb: The problem with ckeditor and parser was $parseroption vs $this->option
[20:59] RobertPlummerMob I think it is mostly fixed, and by the way, debugging in phpstorm is AWESOME!
[20:59] jonnyb nice!
[21:00] jonnyb i guess the $parseroption to $this->option change is a big thing
